On The Number of Irreducible FAT Colorings
A vertex coloring of a graph $G$ with nonempty color classes $V_1,V_2,\dots,V_k$ is called a \emph{FAT $k$-coloring} if there exist real numbers $α,β\in[0,1]$ such that for every vertex $v$ and every color class $V_i \in \left\{ V_1,V_2,\dots,V_k \right\} $ we have $$ \bigl| N(v) \cap V_i \bigr|= \begin{cases} α°(v) & \text{if } v\notin V_i,\\[4pt] β°(v) & \text{if } v\in V_i . \end{cases} $$ \noindent The FAT coloring concept was originally proposed and thoroughly studied by Beers and Mulas. The set of all FAT colorings of a graph is naturally ordered by the coarsening relation, in which finer partitions are larger in the order. The maximal elements of this poset, called \emph{irreducible FAT colorings}, form a generating set: every FAT coloring of the graph can be obtained by merging color classes of some irreducible one. Beers and Mulas raised the compelling question whether, for every positive integer $s$, there exists a graph that admits exactly $s$ irreducible FAT colorings. In this paper we settle this question affirmatively by exhibiting, for any given $s$, a graph possessing precisely $s$ such colorings.

Concerning FAT Colorings of Graphs
Let $G$ be a graph and let $C$ be a color set of cardinality $k$. Suppose $c \colon V(G) \to C$ is a (not necessarily proper) vertex coloring whose all color classes are $V_1$, $V_2$, $\dots$, $V_k$, each of which is nonempty. The vertex coloring $c$ is said to be a {\it FAT $k$-coloring of $G$} if there exist real numbers $α$ and $β$, both in $[0,1]$, such that for every vertex $v\in V(G)$ and every color class $V_i$ the following equalities hold: $$ \bigl| V_i \cap N(v) \bigr| = \begin{cases} α°(v) & \mbox{ if } \ \ v \notin V_i β°(v) & \mbox{ if } \ \ v \in V_i . \end{cases} $$ Let $k > 1$ be a fixed integer, and let $α\in \left[ 0 , \frac{1}{k-1} \right) \cap \mathbb{Q}$ and $β\in [ 0 , 1 ] \cap \mathbb{Q}$ be some fixed rational numbers satisfying $ β+ (k-1) α= 1 $. It was asked for the existence of a graph $G$ with $δ(G) > 0$ admitting some FAT $k$-coloring with the corresponding parameters $α$ and $β$. This paper settles the question in the affirmative. We explicitly construct a sequence $\displaystyle\left\{G_n\right\}_{n=1}^{\infty}$ of pairwise non-homomorphically equivalent graphs, each being a regular graph of positive degree, admitting a FAT $k$-coloring with the corresponding parameters $α$ and $β$.

On Fair and Tolerant Colorings of Graphs
A (not necessarily proper) vertex coloring of a graph $G$ with color classes $V_1$, $V_2$, $\dots$, $V_k$, is said to be a {\it Fair And Tolerant vertex coloring of $G$ with $k$ colors}, whenever $V_1$, $V_2$, $\dots$, $V_k$ are nonempty and there exist two real numbers $α$ and $β$ such that $α\in [0,1]$ and $β\in [0,1]$ and the following condition holds for each arbitrary vertex $v$ and every arbitrary color class $V_i$: $$ \bigl| V_i \cap N (v) \bigr| = \begin{cases} α°(v) & \mbox{ if } \ \ v \notin V_i β°(v) & \mbox{ if } \ \ v \in V_i . \end{cases} $$ The {\it FAT chromatic number} of $G$, denoted by $χ^{\rm FAT} (G)$, is defined as the maximum positive integer $k$ for which $G$ admits a Fair And Tolerant vertex coloring with $k$ colors. The concept of the FAT chromatic number of graphs was introduced and studied by Beers and Mulas, where they asked for the existence of a function $f \colon \mathbb{N} \to \mathbb{R}$ in such a way that the inequality $χ^{\rm FAT} (G) \ \leq \ f \big( χ(G) \big)$ holds for all graphs $G$. Another similar interesting question concerns the existence of some function $g \colon \mathbb{N} \to \mathbb{R}$ such that the inequality $χ(G) \ \leq \ g \left( χ^{\rm FAT} (G) \right)$ holds for every graph $G$. In this paper, we establish that both questions admit negative resolutions.

The Matching Kneser Graph Conjecture For High Chromatic Numbers
\noindent In this paper, we show that for any positive integers $r$, $k$, $Θ$, and $Γ$ such that $k \geq 2$ and $r \geq k + Γ$, there exists a connected graph $G$ for which $$\begin{array}{llcr} ω(G) = χ(G) = k, & χ\left( G , rK_2 \right) = Θ, & {\rm and} & |E(G)| - {\rm ex}\left( G , rK_2 \right) = Θ+ Γ. \end{array}$$

Regarding Equitable Colorability Defect of Hypergraphs
Published • View PublicationBIB
\noindent Azarpendar and Jafari in 2020 proved the following inequality $$χ\left( {\rm KG} ^r ({\cal F} , s) \right) \geq \left\lceil \frac{ {\rm ecd}^r \left( {\cal F} , \left\lfloor \frac{s}{2} \right\rfloor \right) }{r-1} \right\rceil ,$$ and noted that it is plausible that the above inequality remains true if one replaces $\left\lfloor \frac{s}{2} \right\rfloor$ with $s$. \noindent In this paper, considering the relation ${\rm ecd}^r \left( {\cal F} , x \right) \geq {\rm cd}^r \left( {\cal F} , x \right)$ which always holds, we show that even in the weaker inequality $$χ\left( {\rm KG} ^r ({\cal F} , s) \right) \geq \left\lceil \frac{ {\rm cd}^r \left( {\cal F} , \left\lfloor \frac{s}{2} \right\rfloor \right) }{r-1} \right\rceil ,$$ no number $x$ greater than $\left\lfloor \frac{s}{2} \right\rfloor$ could be replaced by $\left\lfloor \frac{s}{2} \right\rfloor$.

Concerning Two Conjectures of Frick and Jafari
In 2022, Hamid Reza Daneshpajouh provided some counterexamples to the following conjecture of Florian Frick. \bf Conjecture. Let $r \geq 3$. Then, every hypergraph ${\cal G}$ over the ground set $[n]$ satisfies $$ χ\left({\rm KG}^r ({\cal G}_{r-{\rm stable}})\right) \geq \left\lceil \frac{{\rm cd}^r ({\cal G})}{r-1} \right\rceil . $$ In this paper, we improve Danashpajouh's results. Also, we provide several counterexamples to the following recent conjecture of Amir Jafari. Conjecture. If $s \geq r \geq 2$, then for any hypergraph ${\cal G}$ with vertex set $[n]$ we have $$ χ\left({\rm KG}^r ({\cal G}_{s-{\rm stable}})\right) \geq \left\lceil \frac{{\rm ecd}^s ({\cal G})}{r-1} \right\rceil .$$

The Matching Ramsey Number of Hypergraphs, Revisited
Suppose that a hypergraph ${\mathcal H}$ and an arbitrary nonempty (finite or infinite) set of available colors are given. Each color $x$ is associated with a frequency $τ(x)$, where the set of all such frequencies is bounded. We define a new parameter called the {\it $τ$-matching chromatic number}, denoted by $χ_M(τ, {\mathcal H})$, as the least possible number of colors required to color the edges of ${\mathcal H}$ in such a way that the size of each nonempty monochromatic matching does not exceed the frequency of the corresponding color associated to its edges. The well-known and extensively well-studied chromatic number of general Kneser hypergraph $χ\left( {\rm KG}^r({\mathcal H}) \right)$ is a special case of $χ_M(τ, {\mathcal H})$ when all color frequencies are the fixed constant $r-1$. In this paper, we establish sharp lower bounds for the parameter $χ_M(τ, {\mathcal H})$, utilizing the concepts of the alternation number and the equitable colorability defect.

A note on b-coloring of Kneser graphs
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this short note, the purpose is to provide an upper bound for the b-chromatic number of Kneser graphs. Our bound improves the upper bound that was presented by Balakrishnan and Kavaskar in [b-coloring of Kneser graphs, Discrete Appl. Math. 160 (2012), 9-14].

On Local Antimagic Chromatic Number of Graphs
A {\it local antimagic labeling} of a connected graph $G$ with at least three vertices, is a bijection $f:E(G) \rightarrow \{1,2,\ldots , |E(G)|\}$ such that for any two adjacent vertices $u$ and $v$ of $G$, the condition $ω_{f}(u) \neq ω_{f}(v)$ holds; where $ω_{f}(u)=\sum _{x\in N(u)} f(xu)$. Assigning $ω_{f}(u)$ to $u$ for each vertex $u$ in $V(G)$, induces naturally a proper vertex coloring of $G$; and $|f|$ denotes the number of colors appearing in this proper vertex coloring. The {\it local antimagic chromatic number} of $G$, denoted by $χ_{la}(G)$, is defined as the minimum of $|f|$, where $f$ ranges over all local antimagic labelings of $G$. In this paper, we explicitely construct an infinite class of connected graphs $G$ such that $χ_{la}(G)$ can be arbitrarily large while $χ_{la}(G \vee \bar{K_{2}})=3$, where $G \vee \bar{K_{2}}$ is the join graph of $G$ and the complement graph of $K_{2}$. This fact leads to a counterexample to a theorem of [Local antimagic vertex coloring of a graph, {\em Graphs and Combinatorics}\ {\bf 33} (2017), 275--285].

On The Circular Altitude of Graphs
Published • View PublicationBIB
Peter Cameron introduced the concept of the circular altitude of graphs; a parameter which was shown by Bamberg et al. that provides a lower bound on the circular chromatic number. In this note, we investigate this parameter and show that the circular altitude of a graph is equal to the maximum of circular altitudes of its blocks. Also, we show that homomorphically equivalent graphs have the same circular altitudes. Finally, we prove that the circular altitude of the Cartesian product of two graphs is equal to the maximum of circular altitudes of its factors.

The b-Chromatic Number of Regular Graphs via The Edge Connectivity
Published • View PublicationBIB
\noindent The b-chromatic number of a graph $G$, denoted by $φ(G)$, is the largest integer $k$ that $G$ admits a proper coloring by $k$ colors, such that each color class has a vertex that is adjacent to at least one vertex in each of the other color classes. El Sahili and Kouider [About b-colorings of regular graphs, Res. Rep. 1432, LRI, Univ. Orsay, France, 2006] asked whether it is true that every $d$-regular graph $G$ of girth at least 5 satisfies $φ(G)=d+1$. Blidia, Maffray, and Zemir [On b-colorings in regular graphs, Discrete Appl. Math. 157 (2009), 1787-1793] showed that the Petersen graph provides a negative answer to this question, and then conjectured that the Petersen graph is the only exception. In this paper, we investigate a strengthened form of the question. The edge connectivity of a graph $G$, denoted by $λ(G)$, is the minimum cardinality of a subset $U$ of $E(G)$ such that $G\setminus U$ is either disconnected or a graph with only one vertex. A $d$-regular graph $G$ is called super-edge-connected if every minimum edge-cut is the set of all edges incident with a vertex in $G$, i.e., $λ(G)=d$ and every minimum edge-cut of $G$ isolates a vertex. We show that if $G$ is a $d$-regular graph that contains no 4-cycle, then $φ(G)=d+1$ whenever $G$ is not super-edge-connected.

On The b-Chromatic Number of Regular Graphs Without 4-Cycle
Published • View PublicationBIB
The b-chromatic number of a graph $G$, denoted by $φ(G)$, is the largest integer $k$ that $G$ admits a proper $k$-coloring such that each color class has a vertex that is adjacent to at least one vertex in each of the other color classes. We prove that for each $d$-regular graph $G$ which contains no 4-cycle, $φ(G)\geq\lfloor\frac{d+3}{2}\rfloor$ and if $G$ has a triangle, then $φ(G)\geq\lfloor\frac{d+4}{2}\rfloor$. Also, if $G$ is a $d$-regular graph which contains no 4-cycle and $diam(G)\geq6$, then $φ(G)=d+1$. Finally, we show that for any $d$-regular graph $G$ which does not contain 4-cycle and $κ(G)\leq\frac{d+1}{2}$, $φ(G)=d+1$.

On Fall Colorings of Graphs
A fall $k$-coloring of a graph $G$ is a proper $k$-coloring of $G$ such that each vertex of $G$ sees all $k$ colors on its closed neighborhood. We denote ${\rm Fall}(G)$ the set of all positive integers $k$ for which $G$ has a fall $k$-coloring. In this paper, we study fall colorings of lexicographic product of graphs and categorical product of graphs and answer a question of \cite{dun} about fall colorings of categorical product of complete graphs. Then, we study fall colorings of union of graphs. Then, we prove that fall $k$-colorings of a graph can be reduced into proper $k$-colorings of graphs in a specified set. Then, we characterize fall colorings of Mycielskian of graphs. Finally, we prove that for each bipartite graph $G$, ${\rm Fall}(G^{c})\subseteq \{χ(G^{c}) \}$ and it is polynomial time to decision whether or not ${\rm Fall}(G^{c})=\{χ(G^{c}) \}$.

On b-continuity Of Kneser Graphs of type KG(2k+1,k)
In this paper, we will introduce an special kind of graph homomorphisms namely semi-locally-surjective graph homomorphisms and show some relations between semi-locally-surjective graph homomorphisms and colorful colorings of graphs and then we prove that for each natural number $k$, the Kneser graph $KG(2k+1,k)$ is $b$-continuous. Finally, we introduce some special conditions for graphs to be $b$-continuous.
