Necessary and sufficient conditions of a class of bipartite graphs with local antimagic chromatic number 2 - an algebraic approach
For a connected graph $G = (V, E)$, a bijective edge labeling $f:E \to\{1,\ldots ,|E|\}$ is a local antimagic labeling of $G$ if it induces a vertex labeling $f^+$ such that for any pair of adjacent vertices $x$ and $y$, $f^+(x)\not= f^+(y)$, where the induced vertex label $f^+(x)= \sum f(xu)$, with $u$ ranging over all the vertices adjacent to $x$. The minimum number of distinct induced vertex labels over all local antimagic labelings of $G$ is the local antimagic chromatic number of $G$, denoted $χ_{la}(G)$. In this paper, we make use of algebraic analysis to obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for every bipartite graph with all vertices of degree 2 except exactly three vertices of degree at least 3 to have local antimagic chromatic number 2. Moreover, we showed that the consecutive edge labels of every induced path of each case is unique.
The local antimagic (total) chromatic numbers of firecracker graphs and edge-corona product graphs
Let G=(V(G),E(G)) be a connected simple graph with n vertices and m edges. A bijection f from the edge set of G to [m] is called a local antimagic labeling of G, if for any two adjacent vertices u and v in G, the sums of the weights of the edges associated with u and v ,respectively, are different. Similarly, A bijection g from the union of edge set and vertex set of G to [n+m] is called a local antimagic total labeling of G, if for any two adjacent vertices u and v in G, The sum of the weight of u and the weights of its incident edges differs from that of v. Obviously, any local antimagic (total) labeling induces a proper vertex-coloring of G when every vertex v is assigned the color w(v)(w_t(v)). The local antimagic (total) chromatic number of G, denoted by X_la(G)(X_lat(G)) , is defined as the minimum number of colors taken over all colorings induced by local antimagic (total) labelings of G. In this paper, we present the local antimagic (total) chromatic number of firecracker graph F_n,k, obtained by the concatenation of n k-stars by linking one leaf from each. Then we give the local antimagic chromatic number of the edge-corona product of two graphs G and H, where the graph is constructed by taking one copy of G and |E(G)| disjoint copies of H one-to-one assigned to each edge of G, and for every edge uv of G, joining u and v to every vertex of the copy of H associated to uv. For the graph studied here, G is a star S_k or a double star S_k1,k2, and H is an empty graph with r vertices or a complete graph K_2.
On local antimagic chromatic number of the join of two special families of graphs -- II
It is known that null graphs and 1-regular graphs are the only regular graphs without local antimagic chromatic number. In this paper, we proved that the join of 1-regular graph and a null graph has local antimagic chromatic number is 3. Consequently, we also obtained many families of (possibly disconnected or regular) bipartite and tripartite graph with local antimagic chromatic number 3.
New Families of tripartite graphs with local antimagic chromatic number 3
For a graph $G(V,E)$ of size $q$, a bijection $f : E(G) \to [1,q]$ is a local antimagc labeling if it induces a vertex labeling $f^+ : V(G) \to \mathbb{N}$ such that $f^+(u) \ne f^+(v)$, where $f^+(u)$ is the sum of all the incident edge label(s) of $u$, for every edge $uv \in E(G)$. In this paper, we make use of matrices of fixed sizes to construct several families of infinitely many tripartite graphs with local antimagic chromatic number 3.
On local antimagic chromatic numbers of the join of two special families of graphs
It is known that null graphs and 1-regular graphs are the only regular graphs without local antimagic chromatic number. In this paper, we use matrices of size $(2m+1) \times (2k+1)$ to completely determine the local antimagic chromatic number of the join of null graphs, $O_m, m\ge 1,$ and 1-regular graphs of odd components, $(2k+1)P_2$, $k\ge 1$. Consequently, we obtained infinitely many (possibly disconnected or regular) tripartite graphs with local antimagic chromatic number 3.
On local antimagic total chromatic number of certain one point union of graphs
Let $G = (V,E)$ be a connected simple graph of order $p$ and size $q$. A bijection $f:V(G)\cup E(G)\to \{1,2,\ldots,p+q\}$ is called a local antimagic total labeling of $G$ if for any two adjacent vertices $u$ and $v$, we have $w(u)\ne w(v)$, where $w(u) = f(u) + \sum_{e\in E(u)} f(e)$ and $E(u)$ is the set of incident edge(s) of $u$. The local antimagic total chromatic number, denoted $χ_{lat}(G)$, is the minimum number of distinct weights over local antimagic total labeling of $G$. In this paper, we provide a correct proof and exact local antimagic total chromatic number of path and spider graphs given in [Local vertex antimagic total coloring of path graph and amalgamation of path, {\it CGANT J. Maths Appln.} {\bf 5(1)} 2024, DOI:10.25037/cgantjma.v5i1.109]. Further, we determined the local antimagic total chromatic number of spider graph with each leg of length at most 2. We also showed the existence of unicyclic and bicyclic graphs with local antimagic total chromatic number 3.
Construction of local antimagic 3-colorable graphs of fixed even size -- matrix approach
An edge labeling of a connected graph $G = (V, E)$ is said to be local antimagic if it is a bijection $f:E \to\{1,\ldots ,|E|\}$ such that for any pair of adjacent vertices $x$ and $y$, $f^+(x)\not= f^+(y)$, where the induced vertex label $f^+(x)= \sum f(e)$, with $e$ ranging over all the edges incident to $x$. The local antimagic chromatic number of $G$, denoted by $χ_{la}(G)$, is the minimum number of distinct induced vertex labels over all local antimagic labelings of $G$. Suppose $χ_{la}(G)=χ_{la}(H)$ and $G_H$ is obtained from $G$ and $H$ by merging some vertices of $G$ with some vertices of $H$ bijectively. In this paper, we give ways to construct matrices with integers in $[1,10k]$, $k\ge 1$, that meet certain properties. Consequently, we obtained many families of (disconnected) bipartite (and tripartite) graphs of size $10k$ with local antimagic chromatic number 3.
Constructions of local antimagic 3-colorable graphs of fixed odd size | matrix approach
An edge labeling of a connected graph $G = (V, E)$ is said to be local antimagic if there is a bijection $f:E \to\{1,\ldots ,|E|\}$ such that for any pair of adjacent vertices $x$ and $y$, $f^+(x)\not= f^+(y)$, where the induced vertex label $f^+(x)= \sum f(e)$, with $e$ ranging over all the edges incident to $x$. The local antimagic chromatic number of $G$, denoted by $χ_{la}(G)$, is the minimum number of distinct induced vertex labels over all local antimagic labelings of $G$. In this paper, we give three ways to construct a $(3m+2)\times (2k+1)$ matrix that meets certain properties for $m=1,3$ and $k\ge 1$. Consequently, we obtained many (disconnected) graphs of size $(3m+2)(2k+1)$ with local antimagic chromatic number 3.
Every connected graph admits a local antimagic orientation and almost every graph admits an antimagic orientation
An undirected graph $G$ is said to admit an antimagic orientation if there exist an orientation $D$ and a bijection between $E(G)$ and $\{1,2,\ldots,|E(G)|\}$ such that any two vertices have distinct vertex sums, where the vertex sum of a vertex is the sum of the labels of the in-edges minus that of the out-edges incident to the vertex. It is conjectured by Hefetz, Mütze, and Schwartz that every connected graph admits an antimagic orientation. A weak version of this problem is to require the distinct vertex sums only for the adjacent vertices. In that case, we say the graph admits a local antimagic orientation. Chang, Jing, and Wang~\cite{CJW20} conjectured that every connected graph admits a local antimagic orientation. In this paper, we give an affirmative answer to the conjecture of Chang et al., and show that almost every graph satisfies the conjecture of Hefetz et al.
An algorithmic approach in constructing infinitely many even size graphs with local antimagic chromatic number 3
In this paper, we first introduce an algorithmic approach to construct a family of infinitely many even size non-regular tripartite graphs with $t\ge 1$ component(s) in which every component, called a {\it Luv} graph, is of odd order $p\ge 9$ and size $q=n(p+1)$ for $n\ge 2$. We show that every graph in this family has local antimagic chromatic number 3. We then allowed the $m$-th component to have order $p_m\ge 9$ and size $n_m(p_m+1)$ for $n_m\ge 2, 1\le m\le t$. We also proved that every such graph with all components having same order and size also has local antimagic chromatic number 3. Lastly, we constructed another family of infinitely many graphs such that different components may have different order and size all of which having local antimagic chromatic number 3. Consequently, many other families of (possibly disconnected) graphs with local antimagic chromatic number 3 are also constructed.
Local antimagic chromatic number of partite graphs
Let $G$ be a connected graph with $|V| = n$ and $|E| = m$. A bijection $f:E\rightarrow \{1,2,...,m\}$ is called a local antimagic labeling of $G$ if for any two adjacent vertices $u$ and $v$, $w(u) \neq w(v)$, where $w(u) = \sum_{e \in E(u)}f(e)$, and $E(u)$ is the set of edges incident to $u$. Thus, any local antimagic labeling induces a proper vertex coloring of $G$ where the vertex $v$ is assigned the color $w(v)$. The local antimagic chromatic number is the minimum number of colors taken over all colorings induced by local antimagic labelings of $G$. Let $m,n > 1$. In this paper, the local antimagic chromatic number of a complete tripartite graph $K_{1,m,n}$, and $r$ copies of a complete bipartite graph $K_{m,n}$ where $m \not \equiv n \bmod 2$ are determined.
Local Antimagic Coloring of Some Graphs
Given a graph $G =(V,E)$, a bijection $f: E \rightarrow \{1, 2, \dots,|E|\}$ is called a local antimagic labeling of $G$ if the vertex weight $w(u) = \sum_{uv \in E} f(uv)$ is distinct for all adjacent vertices. The vertex weights under the local antimagic labeling of $G$ induce a proper vertex coloring of a graph $G$. The \textit{local antimagic chromatic number} of $G$ denoted by $χ_{la}(G)$ is the minimum number of weights taken over all such local antimagic labelings of $G$. In this paper, we investigate the local antimagic chromatic numbers of the union of some families of graphs, corona product of graphs, and necklace graph and we construct infinitely many graphs satisfying $χ_{la}(G) = χ(G)$.
On bridge graphs with local antimagic chromatic number 3
Let $G=(V, E)$ be a connected graph. A bijection $f: E\to \{1, \ldots, |E|\}$ is called a local antimagic labeling if for any two adjacent vertices $x$ and $y$, $f^+(x)\neq f^+(y)$, where $f^+(x)=\sum_{e\in E(x)}f(e)$ and $E(x)$ is the set of edges incident to $x$. Thus a local antimagic labeling induces a proper vertex coloring of $G$, where the vertex $x$ is assigned the color $f^+(x)$. The local antimagic chromatic number $χ_{la}(G)$ is the minimum number of colors taken over all colorings induced by local antimagic labelings of $G$. In this paper, we present some families of bridge graphs with $χ_{la}(G)=3$ and give several ways to construct bridge graphs with $χ_{la}(G)=3$.
Super Total Local Antimagic Vertex Coloring of Graphs
Let $G = (V,E)$ be a finite simple undirected graph without isolated vertices. A bijective map $f: V \cup E \rightarrow \{1,2, \dots, |V|+ |E| \}$ is called total local antimagic labeling if for each edge $uv \in E, w(u) \ne w(v)$, where $w(v)$ is a weight of a vertex $v$ defined by $w(v) = \sum_{x \in NT(v)} f(x)$, where $NT(u) = N(u) \cup \{uv: uv\in E\}$ is the total open neighborhood of a vertex $u$. Further, $f$ is called super vertex total local antimagic labeling or super edge total local antimagic labeling if $f(V) = \{1,2, \dots, |V|\}$ or $f(E) = \{1,2, \dots, |E|\}$, respectively. The labeling $f$ induces a proper vertex coloring of $G$. The super vertex (edge) total local antimagic chromatic number of a graph $G$ is the minimum number of colors used overall colorings of $G$ induced by super vertex (edge) total local antimagic labeling of $G$. In this paper, we have calculated the super vertex (edge) total local antimagic chromatic number of some families of graphs.

A note on local antimagic chromatic number of lexicographic product graphs
Let $G = (V,E)$ be a connected simple graph. A bijection $f: E \rightarrow \{1,2,\ldots,|E|\}$ is called a local antimagic labeling of $G$ if $f^+(u) \neq f^+(v)$ holds for any two adjacent vertices $u$ and $v$, where $f^+(u) = \sum_{e\in E(u)} f(e)$ and $E(u$) is the set of edges incident to $u$. A graph $G$ is called local antimagic if $G$ admits at least a local antimagic labeling. The local antimagic chromatic number, denoted $χ_{la}(G)$, is the minimum number of induced colors taken over local antimagic labelings of $G$. Let $G$ and $H$ be two disjoint graphs. The graph $G[H]$ is obtained by the lexicographic product of $G$ and $H$. In this paper, we obtain sufficient conditions for $χ_{la}(G[H])\leq χ_{la}(G)χ_{la}(H)$. Consequently, we give examples of $G$ and $H$ such that $χ_{la}(G[H]) = χ(G)χ(H)$, where $χ(G)$ is the chromatic number of $G$. We conjecture that (i) there are infinitely many graphs $G$ and $H$ such that $χ_{la}(G[H])=χ_{la}(G)χ_{la}(H) = χ(G)χ(H)$, and (ii) for $k\ge 1$, $χ_{la}(G[H]) = χ(G)χ(H)$ if and only if $χ(G)χ(H) = 2χ(H) + \lceil\frac{χ(H)}{k}\rceil$, where $2k+1$ is the length of a shortest odd cycle in $G$.

Let $G = (V, E)$ be a finite simple undirected graph without $K_2$ components. A bijection $f : E \rightarrow \{1, 2,\cdots, |E|\}$ is called a local antimagic labeling if for any two adjacent vertices $u$ and $v$, they have different vertex sums, i.e., $w(u) \neq w(v)$, where the vertex sum $w(u) = \sum_{e \in E(u)} f(e)$, and $E(u)$ is the set of edges incident to $u$. Thus any local antimagic labeling induces a proper vertex coloring of $G$ where the vertex $v$ is assigned the color (vertex sum) $w(v)$. The local antimagic chromatic number $χ_{la}(G)$ is the minimum number of colors taken over all colorings induced by local antimagic labelings of $G$. It was conjectured \cite{Aru-Wang} that for every tree $T$ the local antimagic chromatic number $l+ 1 \leq χ_{la} ( T )\leq l+2$, where $l$ is the number of leaves of $T$. In this article we verify the above conjecture for complete full $t$-ary trees, for $t \geq 2$. A complete full $t$-ary tree is a rooted tree in which all nodes have exactly $t$ children except leaves and every leaf is of the same depth. In particular we obtain that the exact value for the local antimagic chromatic number of all complete full $t$-ary trees is $ l+1$ for odd $t$.

Let $G = (V,E)$ be a connected simple graph of order $p$ and size $q$. A graph $G$ is called local antimagic if $G$ admits a local antimagic labeling. A bijection $f : E \to \{1,2,\ldots,q\}$ is called a local antimagic labeling of $G$ if for any two adjacent vertices $u$ and $v$, we have $f^+(u) \ne f^+(v)$, where $f^+(u) = \sum_{e\in E(u)} f(e)$, and $E(u)$ is the set of edges incident to $u$. The local antimagic chromatic number, denoted $χ_{la}(G)$, is the minimum number of induced colors taken over local antimagic labeling of $G$. Let $G$ and $H$ be two vertex disjoint graphs. The {\it lexicographic product} of $G$ and $H$, denoted $G[H]$, is the graph with vertex set $V(G) \times V(H)$, and $(u,u')$ is adjacent to $(v,v')$ in $G[H]$ if $(u,v)\in E(G)$ or if $u=v$ and $u'v'\in E(H)$. In this paper, we obtained sharp upper bound of $χ_{la}(G[O_n])$ where $O_n$ is a null graph of order $n\ge 1$. Sufficient conditions for even regular bipartite and tripartite graphs $G$ to have $χ_{la}(G)=3$ are also obtained. Consequently, we successfully determined the local antimagic chromatic number of infinitely many (connected and disconnected) regular graphs that partially support the existence of $r$-regular graph $G$ of order $p$ such that (i) $χ_{la}(G)=χ(G)=k$, and (ii) $χ_{la}(G)=χ(G)+1=k$ for each possible $r,p,k$.
On local antimagic chromatic number of a corona product graph
In this paper, we provide a correct proof for the lower bounds of the local antimagic chromatic number of the corona product of friendship and fan graphs with null graph respectively as in [On local antimagic vertex coloring of corona products related to friendship and fan graph, {\it Indon. J. Combin.}, 5(2) (2021) 110--121]. Consequently, we obtained a sharp lower bound that gives the exact local antimagic chromatic number of the corona product of friendship and null graph.
