Closed Neighborhood Balanced k-Coloring of Graphs
For a simple graph G = (V, E) and a positive integer k greater than or equal to 2, a coloring of vertices of G using exactly k colors such that every vertex has an equal number of vertices of each color in its closed neighborhood is called closed neighborhood-balanced k-coloring, and the graph which admits such a coloring is called closed neighborhood balanced k-colored graph. We derive some necessary/sufficient conditions for a graph to admit a closed neighborhood balanced k-coloring and discuss various graph operations involving such graphs. Furthermore, we prove that there is no forbidden subgraph characterization for the class of closed neighborhood-balanced k-colorable graphs.
Neighborhood Balanced k-Coloring of Graphs
For a simple graph G = (V, E) and a positive integer k greater than or equal to 2, a coloring of vertices of G using exactly k colors such that each vertex has an equal number of neighbors of each color is called neighborhood-balanced k-coloring, and the graph is called a neighborhood-balanced k-colored graph. This generalizes the notion of neighborhood balanced coloring of graphs introduced by Bryan Freyberg and Alison Marr (Graphs and Combinatorics, 2024). We derive some necessary/sufficient conditions for a graph to admit a neighborhood-balanced k-coloring and discuss several graph classes that admit such colorings. We also show that the problem of determining whether a given graph has such a coloring is NP-complete. Furthermore, we prove that there is no forbidden subgraph characterization for the class of neighborhood-balanced k-colorable graphs.
A Complete Characterization of all Magic Constants Arising from Distance Magic Graphs
A positive integer $k$ is called a magic constant if there is a graph $G$ along with a bijective function $f$ from $V(G)$ to first $|V(G)|$ natural numbers such that the weight of the vertex $w(v) = \sum_{uv \in E}f(v) =k$ for all $v \in V$. It is known that all odd positive integers greater equal $3$ and the integer powers of $2$, $2^{t}$, $t \ge 6$ are magic constants. In this paper we characterise all positive integers which are magic constants.
Distance Magic Labeling of Generalised Mycielskian Graphs
In this paper, we have studied the distance magic labelling of Generalised Mycielskian of a few families of graphs.
Local Antimagic Coloring of Some Graphs
Given a graph $G =(V,E)$, a bijection $f: E \rightarrow \{1, 2, \dots,|E|\}$ is called a local antimagic labeling of $G$ if the vertex weight $w(u) = \sum_{uv \in E} f(uv)$ is distinct for all adjacent vertices. The vertex weights under the local antimagic labeling of $G$ induce a proper vertex coloring of a graph $G$. The \textit{local antimagic chromatic number} of $G$ denoted by $χ_{la}(G)$ is the minimum number of weights taken over all such local antimagic labelings of $G$. In this paper, we investigate the local antimagic chromatic numbers of the union of some families of graphs, corona product of graphs, and necklace graph and we construct infinitely many graphs satisfying $χ_{la}(G) = χ(G)$.
Super Total Local Antimagic Vertex Coloring of Graphs
Let $G = (V,E)$ be a finite simple undirected graph without isolated vertices. A bijective map $f: V \cup E \rightarrow \{1,2, \dots, |V|+ |E| \}$ is called total local antimagic labeling if for each edge $uv \in E, w(u) \ne w(v)$, where $w(v)$ is a weight of a vertex $v$ defined by $w(v) = \sum_{x \in NT(v)} f(x)$, where $NT(u) = N(u) \cup \{uv: uv\in E\}$ is the total open neighborhood of a vertex $u$. Further, $f$ is called super vertex total local antimagic labeling or super edge total local antimagic labeling if $f(V) = \{1,2, \dots, |V|\}$ or $f(E) = \{1,2, \dots, |E|\}$, respectively. The labeling $f$ induces a proper vertex coloring of $G$. The super vertex (edge) total local antimagic chromatic number of a graph $G$ is the minimum number of colors used overall colorings of $G$ induced by super vertex (edge) total local antimagic labeling of $G$. In this paper, we have calculated the super vertex (edge) total local antimagic chromatic number of some families of graphs.
On Structural and Spectral Properties of Distance Magic Graphs
A graph $G=(V,E)$ is said to be distance magic if there is a bijection $f$ from a vertex set of $G$ to the first $|V(G)|$ natural numbers such that for each vertex $v$, its weight given by $\sum_{u \in N(v)}f(u)$ is constant, where $N(v)$ is an open neighborhood of a vertex $v$. In this paper, we introduce the concept of $p$-distance magic labeling and establish the necessary and sufficient condition for a graph to be distance magic. Additionally, we introduce necessary and sufficient conditions for a connected regular graph to exhibit distance magic properties in terms of the eigenvalues of its adjacency and Laplacian matrices. Furthermore, we study the spectra of distance magic graphs, focusing on singular distance magic graphs. Also, we show that the number of distance magic labelings of a graph is, at most, the size of its automorphism group.
