Maximum packings in graphs forbidding given rainbow cycles
Motivated by the Ruzsa-Szemerédi problem, Imolay, Karl, Nagy, and Váli studied a variant of Turán number $ex_F(n,G)$ (called the $F$-multicolor Turán number of $G$), defined as the maximum number of edge-disjoint copies of $F$ on $n$-vertex set such that there is no copies of $G$ whose edges come from distinct copies of $F$. They proved that if there is no homomorphism from $G$ to $F$, then $n^2/v(F)^2+o(n^2)\leq ex_F(n,G)\leq ex(n,G)/e(F)+o(n^2)$, and otherwise $ex_F(n,G) = o(n^2)$. The quantity $ex_F(n,G)$ asymptotically equals the maximum size of an $F$-packing in an $n$-vertex $G$-free graph, and attains the upper bound $ex(n,G)/e(F)+o(n^2)$ if and only if $χ(G) > χ(F)$. In this paper, we provide conditions under which $ex_F(n,G)$ does not achieve the lower bound $n^2/v(F)^2 + o(n^2)$, and describe additional graph pairs that attain this lower bound via graph blow-ups. Especially, we proved that $ex_{C_k(s)}(n,C_{k-2})=n^2/(sk)^2+o(n^2)$ for any $k\geq 5$. For degenerate cases, we show that if $χ(F) = 3$ and $G$ and $F$ share the same odd girth, then $ex_F(n,G)$ satisfies the $(6,3)$-type bound $n^{2-o(1)}$, generalizing a result of Kovács and Nagy. We also prove that $ex_{C_{2k+1}}(n,C_{2\ell+1})=O(n^{1+1/(\ell-k+1)})$ for any integers $k,\ell$ with $\ell>k$, extending a result of Füredi and Özkahya. Additionally, we establish $ex_{C_4}(n,C_4)=\sqrt{2}n^{3/2}/8+O(n)$.

Polynomial properties of unipotent radicals of parabolic subgroups in classical groups
Let $R_u^{X,d}$ denote the unipotent radical of a (proper) maximal standard parabolic subgroup of the classical group $\mathrm{Sp}_{2n}(q)$, $\mathrm{SO}_{2n}(q)$, or $\mathrm U_{2n}({q^2})$. This paper establishes explicit formulas for the number of irreducible characters of $R_u^{X,d}$ with degree $q^e$.

Bounds on the $α$-distance spectrum of graphs
Published • View PublicationBIB
For a simple, undirected and connected graph $G$, $D_α(G) = αTr(G) + (1-α) D(G)$ is called the $α$-distance matrix of $G$, where $α\in [0,1]$, $D(G)$ is the distance matrix of $G$, and $Tr(G)$ is the vertex transmission diagonal matrix of $G$. Recently, the $α$-distance energy of $G$ was defined based on the spectra of $D_α(G)$. In this paper, we define the $α$-distance Estrada index of $G$ in terms of the eigenvalues of $D_α(G)$. And we give some bounds on the spectral radius of $D_α(G)$, $α$-distance energy and $α$-distance Estrada index of $G$.

Upper triangular matrices and Billiard Arrays
Published • View PublicationBIB
Fix a nonnegative integer $d$, a field $\mathbb{F}$, and a vector space $V$ over $\mathbb{F}$ with dimension $d+1$. Let $T$ denote an invertible upper triangular matrix in ${\rm Mat}_{d+1}(\mathbb{F})$. Using $T$ we construct three flags on $V$. We find a necessary and sufficient condition on $T$ for these three flags to be totally opposite. In this case, we use these three totally opposite flags to construct a Billiard Array $B$ on $V$. It is known that $B$ is determined up to isomorphism by a certain triangular array of scalar parameters called the $B$-values. We compute these $B$-values in terms of the entries of $T$. We describe the set of isomorphism classes of Billiard Arrays in terms of upper triangular matrices.
