Hamiltonian cycles and Hamiltonian paths in $2k$-connected, $1$-tough and $(P_{3}\cup kP_{1})$-free graphs
A graph $G$ is called Hamiltonian if it possesses a Hamiltonian cycle; and $G$ is called Hamiltonian-connected if it contains a Hamiltonian path between any two distinct vertices. The toughness of a non-complete graph is the minimum ratio of $|S|$ to the number of components of $G-S$ for any cutset $S$. For a given graph $H$, a graph $G$ is called $H$-free if $G$ does not contain $H$ as an induced subgraph. In this paper, for an integer $k\ge 2$, we prove that every $2k$-connected, $1$-tough and $(P_{3}\cup kP_{1})$-free graph is Hamiltonian and every $(2k+1)$-connected $(P_{3}\cup kP_{1})$-free graph with toughness greater than $1$ is Hamiltonian-connected.
Extremal graphs with no subgraph admitting $k+1$ edge-disjoint spanning trees
A graph $G$ is $τ_k$-maximal if $G$ contains no subgraph admitting $k+1$ edge-disjoint spanning trees, while the addition of any edge in the complement of $G$ yields a subgraph that admits $k+1$ edge-disjoint spanning trees. In this paper, we prove that for any integers $k\geq 1$ and $n\geq 2k+2$, every $τ_k$-maximal graph of order $n$ satisfies $|E(G)|\leq (k+1)(n-1)-1$. Furthermore, we construct a family of $τ_k$-maximal graphs on $n\ge 2k+2$ vertices that have exactly $(k+1)(n-1)-1$ edges, which establishes the tightness of the upper bound. Then we conjecture that every $τ_k$-maximal graph on $n$ vertices has exactly $(k+1)(n-1)-1$ edges, and we verify the conjecture for the case $k=1$.
Connectivity preserving spanning $(u,v)$-paths in $k$-connected graphs
Hasunuma [Graphs Combin. 41:10 (2025)] proved that for $k\ge 2$, there exists a function $f(k)=O(k)$ such that every $k$-connected graph $G$ of order $n\ge f(k)$ with $δ(G)\ge \frac{n}{2}$ contains a Hamiltonian cycle $H$ such that $G-E(H)$ is $k$-connected. In this paper, we show that for $k\ge 2$, if $G$ is a $k$-connected graph of order $n\ge 6k+6$ with minimum degree at least $\frac{n+1}{2}$, then for any two distinct vertices $u,v\in V(G)$, there exists a Hamiltonian $(u,v)$-path $P$ such that $G-E(P)$ is $k$-connected. Moreover, we further extend this result to $s$ internally disjoint spanning $(u,v)$-paths.
Extremal Problems for the Family of $k$-Strongly Connected Digraphs
Let $\mathcal{D}$ be a family of digraphs. A digraph $D$ is \emph{$\mathcal{D}$-saturated} if it contains no member of $\mathcal{D}$ as a subdigraph, but for any arc $e$ in the complement of $D$, the digraph $D + e$ contains some member of $\mathcal{D}$ as a subdigraph. The \emph{saturation number} $\mathrm{sat}(n,\mathcal{D})$ and the \emph{extremal number} $\mathrm{ex}(n,\mathcal{D})$ are the minimum number and the maximum number of arcs among all $n$-vertex $\mathcal{D}$-saturated digraphs. For a positive integer $k$, let $\mathcal{D}_k$ denote the family of \emph{$k$-strongly connected digraphs}. In this paper, firstly, we prove that $$\mathrm{sat}(n,\mathcal{D}_k)=(k-1)(2n-k)+\binom{n-k+1}{2}.$$
Then for $n\geq 3(k-1)$, we prove that $$\mathrm{ex}(n,\mathcal{D}_k)\leq \binom{n-k+1}{2}+\frac{17}{6}(k-1)(n-k+1).$$ In addition, we conjecture that for sufficiently large $n$, $$\mathrm{ex}(n,\mathcal{D}_k)=\binom{n}{2}+\frac{3}{2}(k-\frac{4}{3})(n-k+1).$$
The 3-restricted Edge-Connectivity of Strong Product Graphs
An edge subset \( S \subseteq E(G) \) is called a 3-restricted edge-cut if $G-S$ is disconnected and each component of \( G - S \) contains at least three vertices. The 3-restricted edge-connectivity of a graph \( G \), denoted by \( λ_3(G) \), is defined as the minimum cardinality among all 3-restricted edge-cuts if there are at least one; otherwise, \( λ_3(G) = +\infty \). It is proved that $λ_3(G)\leqξ_3(G)$ if $G$ has a 3-restricted edge-cut, where $ξ_3(G) = \min \{ |[X, V(G) \setminus X]_G||X \subseteq V(G),|X| = 3 \text{ and } G[X] \text{ is connected}\}.$ If \( λ_3(G) = ξ_3(G) \), then \( G \) is said to be maximally 3-restricted edge-connected. The strong product of graphs \( G \) and \( H \), denoted by \( G \boxtimes H \), is the graph with the vertex set $ V(G)\times V(H) $ and the edge set $ \{(x_{1},y_{1})(x_{2},y_{2})|x_{1}=x_{2}\text{ and }y_{1}y_{2}\in E(H);\text{ or }y_{1}=y_{2} $ and $ x_{1}x_{2}\in E(G) $; or $ x_{1}x_{2}\in E(G) $ and $ y_{1}y_{2}\in E(H)\}$. In this paper, we prove that \( G \boxtimes C_{n} \) is maximally 3-restricted edge-connected, and determine the 3-restricted edge-connectivity of \( G \boxtimes K_{n} \), where \( G \) is a maximally edge-connected graph, \( C_{n} \) and \( K_{n} \) are the cycle and the complete graph of order \( n \), respectively.
On the Steiner $k$-diameter and Steiner ($k,k^{\prime}$)-radius of trees
Given a connected graph $G=(V,E)$ and a $k$-set $S\subseteq V(G)$, the $Steiner$ $distance$ $d_{G}(S)$ of $S$ is defined as the size of a minimum tree including $S$ in $G$. The $Steiner$ $k$-$eccentricity$ of a vertex $v$ in $G$ is the maximum value of $d_G(S)$ over all $S\subseteq V(G)$ with $|S|=k$ and $v\in S$. The minimum Steiner $k$-eccentricity over all vertices, denoted by $Sr_k(G)$, is called the $Steiner$ $k$-$radius$ of $G$ and the maximum Steiner $k$-eccentricity over all vertices, denoted by $Sd_k(G)$, is its $Steiner$ $k$-$diameter$. The $Steiner$ $(k,k^{\prime})$-$eccentricity$ of a $k^{\prime}$-subset $S^{\prime}$ of $V(G)$, which is an extension of the Steiner $k$-eccentricity of a vertex $v$, is defined as the maximum Steiner distance over all $k$-subsets of $V(G)$ containing $S^{\prime}$. The minimum Steiner $(k,k^{\prime})$-eccentricity among all $k^{\prime}$-subsets of $V(G)$, denoted by $Sr_{k,k^{\prime}}(G)$, is called the $Steiner$ $(k,k^{\prime})$-$radius$ of $G$. In 1989, Chartrand, Oellermann, Tian and Zou showed that for any $k\geq3$, $Sd_k(T)\leq \frac{k}{k-1}Sr_k(T)$ for any tree $T$. In this paper, we generalize this result and show that $Sd_k(T)\leq \frac{k}{k-k^{\prime}}Sr_{k,k^{\prime}}(T)$ for any $k\geq3$, $k>k^{\prime}\geq1$. Furthermore, for $k^{\prime}=2$ and $k^{\prime}=3$, we obtain a tight upper bound of the Steiner $k$-diameter by the Steiner $(k,k^{\prime})$-radius for all trees.
The 3-restricted edge-connectivity of the direct product graphs
An edge subset \( S \subseteq E(G) \) is called a 3-restricted edge-cut if \( G - S \) is disconnected and each component of \( G - S \) contains at least three vertices. The 3-restricted edge-connectivity of a graph \( G \), denoted by \( λ_3(G) \), is defined as the minimum cardinality among all 3-restricted edge-cuts if there are at least one; otherwise, \( λ_3(G) = +\infty \). It is proved that $λ_3(G)\leqξ_3(G)$ if $G$ has a 3-restricted edge-cut, where $ξ_3(G) = \min \left\{ |[X, V(G) \setminus X]_G|:|X| = 3 \text{ and } G[X] \text{ is connected} \right\}.$ If \( λ_3(G) = ξ_3(G) \), then \( G \) is said to be maximally 3-restricted edge-connected. The direct product of two graphs $G$ and $H$, denoted by $G \times H$, is defined as the graph with vertex set \( V(G \times H) = V(G) \times V(H) \), where two vertices \( (u_1, v_1) \) and \( (u_2, v_2) \) are adjacent in \( G \times H \) if and only if \( u_1u_2 \in E(G) \) and \( v_1v_2 \in E(H) \). In this paper, we determine, for a regular connected graph \( G\), the 3-restricted edge-connectivity of \( G \times C_n \), \( G \times K_n \) and \( G \times T_n \), where \( C_n \), \( K_n \) and \( T_n \) are the cycle, the complete graph and the total graph with \( n \) vertices, respectively. As corollaries, we establish sufficient conditions for the direct product graphs \( G \times C_n \), \( G \times K_n \) and \( G \times T_n \) to be maximally 3-restricted edge-connected.
Forcibly unicyclic and bicyclic graphic sequences
A sequence $D=(d_1,d_2,\ldots,d_n)$ of non-negative integers is called a graphic sequence if there is a simple graph with vertices $v_1,v_2,\ldots,v_n$ such that the degree of $v_i$ is $d_i$ for $1\leq i\leq n$. Given a graph theoretical property $\mathcal{P}$, a graphic sequence $D$ is forcibly $\mathcal{P}$ graphic if each graph with degree sequence $D$ has property $\mathcal{P}$. A graph is acyclic if it contains no cycles. A connected acyclic graph is just a tree and has $n-1$ edges. A graph of order $n$ is unicyclic (resp. bicyclic) if it is connected and has $n$ (resp. $n+1$) edges. Bar-Noy, Böhnlein, Peleg and Rawitz [Discrete Mathematics 346 (2023) 113460] characterized forcibly acyclic and forcibly connected acyclic graphic sequences. In this paper, we aim to characterize forcibly unicyclic and forcibly bicyclic graphic sequences.
Graphs with a given conditional diameter that maximize the Wiener index
The Wiener index $W(G)$ of a graph $G$ is one of the most well-known topological indices, which is defined as the sum of distances between all pairs of vertices of $G$. The diameter $D(G)$ of $G$ is the maximum distance between all pairs of vertices of $G$; the conditional diameter $D(G;s)$ is the maximum distance between all pairs of vertex subsets with cardinality $s$ of $G$. When $s=1$, the conditional diameter $D(G;s)$ is just the diameter $D(G)$. The authors in \cite{QS} characterized the graphs with the maximum Wiener index among all graphs with diameter $D(G)=n-c$, where $1\le c\le 4$. In this paper, we will characterize the graphs with the maximum Wiener index among all graphs with conditional diameter $D(G;s)=n-2s-c$ ( $-1\leq c\leq 1$), which extends partial results in \cite{QS}.
The Restricted Edge-Connectivity of Strong Product Graphs
The restricted edge-connectivity of a connected graph $G$, denoted by $λ^{\prime}(G)$, if it exists, is the minimum cardinality of a set of edges whose deletion makes $G$ disconnected and each component with at least 2 vertices. It was proved that if $G$ is not a star and $|V(G)|\geq4$, then $λ^{\prime}(G)$ exists and $λ^{\prime}(G)\leqξ(G)$, where $ξ(G)$ is the minimum edge-degree of $G$. Thus a graph $G$ is called maximally restricted edge-connected if $λ^{\prime}(G)=ξ(G)$; and a graph $G$ is called super restricted edge-connected if each minimum restricted edge-cut isolates an edge of $G$. The strong product of graphs $G$ and $H$, denoted by $G\boxtimes H$, is the graph with vertex set $V(G)\times V(H)$ and edge set $\{(x_1,y_1)(x_2,y_2)\ |\ x_1=x_2$ and $y_1y_2\in E(H)$; or $y_1=y_2$ and $x_1x_2\in E(G)$; or $x_1x_2\in E(G)$ and $y_1y_2\in E(H)$\}. In this paper, we determine, for any nontrivial connected graph $G$, the restricted edge-connectivity of $G\boxtimes P_n$, $G\boxtimes C_n$ and $G\boxtimes K_n$, where $P_n$, $C_n$ and $K_n$ are the path, the cycle and the complete graph on $n$ vertices, respectively. As corollaries, we give sufficient conditions for these strong product graphs $G\boxtimes P_n$, $G\boxtimes C_n$ and $G\boxtimes K_n$ to be maximally restricted edge-connected and super restricted edge-connected.
Edge-connectivity keeping trees in $k$-edge-connected graphs
Mader [J. Combin. Theory Ser. B 40 (1986) 152-158] proved that every $k$-edge-connected graph $G$ with minimum degree at least $k+1$ contains a vertex $u$ such that $G-\{u\}$ is still $k$-edge-connected. In this paper, we prove that every $k$-edge-connected graph $G$ with minimum degree at least $k+2$ contains an edge $uv$ such that $G-\{u,v\}$ is $k$-edge-connected for any positive integer $k$. In addition, we show that for any tree $T$ of order $m$, every $k$-edge-connected graph $G$ with minimum degree greater than $4(k+m)^2$ contains a subtree $T'$ isomorphic to $T$ such that $G-V(T')$ is $k$-edge-connected.
Characterizing the forbidden pairs for graphs to be super-edge-connected
Let $\mathcal{H}$ be a set of given connected graphs. A graph $G$ is said to be $\mathcal{H}$-free if $G$ contains no $H$ as an induced subgraph for any $H\in \mathcal{H}$. The graph $G$ is super-edge-connected if each minimum edge-cut isolates a vertex in $G$. In this paper, except for some special graphs, we characterize all forbidden subgraph sets $\mathcal{H}$ such that every $\mathcal{H}$-free is super-edge-connected for $|\mathcal{H}|=1$ and $2$.
Extra Connectivity of Strong Product of Graphs
The $g$-$extra$ $connectivity$ $κ_{g}(G)$ of a connected graph $G$ is the minimum cardinality of a set of vertices, if it exists, whose deletion makes $G$ disconnected and leaves each remaining component with more than $g$ vertices, where $g$ is a non-negative integer. The $strong$ $product$ $G_1 \boxtimes G_2$ of graphs $G_1$ and $G_2$ is the graph with vertex set $V(G_1 \boxtimes G_2)=V(G_1)\times V(G_2)$, where two distinct vertices $(x_{1}, y_{1}),(x_{2}, y_{2}) \in V(G_1)\times V(G_2)$ are adjacent in $G_1 \boxtimes G_2$ if and only if $x_{1}=x_{2}$ and $y_{1} y_{2} \in E(G_2)$ or $y_{1}=y_{2}$ and $x_{1} x_{2} \in E(G_1)$ or $x_{1} x_{2} \in E(G_1)$ and $y_{1} y_{2} \in E(G_2)$. In this paper, we give the $g\ (\leq 3)$-$extra$ $connectivity$ of $G_1\boxtimes G_2$, where $G_i$ is a maximally connected $k_i\ (\geq 2)$-regular graph for $i=1,2$. As a byproduct, we get $g\ (\leq 3)$-$extra$ conditional fault-diagnosability of $G_1\boxtimes G_2$ under $PMC$ model.
Connectivity keeping trees in 3-connected bipartite graphs with girth conditions
Luo, Tian and Wu conjectured in 2022 that for any tree $T$ with bipartition $X$ and $Y$, every $k$-connected bipartite graph $G$ with $δ(G) \geq k + t$, where $t = \max\{|X|,|Y |\}$, contains a subtree $T' \cong T$ such that $G-V(T')$ remains $k$-connected. This conjecture has been proved for caterpillars and spiders when $k\leq 3$; and for paths with odd order. In this paper, we prove that this conjecture holds if $G$ is a bipartite graph with $g(G)\geq diam(T)-1$ and $k\leq 3$, where $g(G)$ and $diam(T)$ denote the girth of $G$ and the diameter of $T$, respectively.
Connectivity keeping edges of trees in 3-connected or 3-edge-connected graphs
Hasunuma [J. Graph Theory 102 (2023) 423-435] conjectured that for any tree $T$ of order $m$, every $k$-connected (or $k$-edge-connected) graph $G$ with minimum degree at least $k+m-1$ contains a tree $T'\cong T$ such that $G-E(T')$ is still $k$-connected (or $k$-edge connected). Hasunuma verified this conjecture for $k\leq 2$. In this paper, we confirm this conjecture for $k=3$.
The super restricted edge-connectedness of direct product graphs
Let $G$ be a graph with vertex set $V(G)$ and edge set $E(G)$. An edge subset $F\subseteq E(G)$ is called a restricted edge-cut if $G-F$ is disconnected and has no isolated vertices. The restricted edge-connectivity $λ'(G)$ of $G$ is the cardinality of a minimum restricted edge-cut of $G$ if it has any; otherwise $λ'(G)=+\infty$. If $G$ is not a star and its order is at least four, then $λ'(G)\leq ξ(G)$, where $ξ(G)=$ min$\{d_G(u) + d_G(v)-2:\ uv \in E(G)\}$. The graph $G$ is said to be maximally restricted edge-connected if $λ'(G)= ξ(G)$; the graph $G$ is said to be super restricted edge-connected if every minimum restricted edge-cut isolates an edge from $G$. The direct product of graphs $G_1$ and $G_2$, denoted by $G_1\times G_2$, is the graph with vertex set $V(G_1\times G_2) = V(G_1)\times V(G_2)$, where two vertices $(u_{1} ,v_{1} )$ and $(u_{2} ,v_{2} )$ are adjacent in $G_1\times G_2$ if and only if $u_{1}u_{2} \in E(G_1)$ and $v_{1}v_{2} \in E(G_2)$. In this paper, we give a sufficient condition for $G\times K_{n}$ to be super restricted edge-connected, where $K_{n}$ is the complete graph on $n$ vertices.

Luo, Tian and Wu (2022) conjectured that for any tree $T$ with bipartition $X$ and $Y$, every $k$-connected bipartite graph $G$ with minimum degree at least $k+t$, where $t=$max$\{|X|,|Y|\}$, contains a tree $T'\cong T$ such that $G-V(T')$ is still $k$-connected. Note that $t=\lceil\frac{m}{2}\rceil$ when the tree $T$ is the path with order $m$. In this paper, we proved that every $k$-connected bipartite graph $G$ with minimum degree at least $k+ \lceil\frac{m+1}{2}\rceil$ contains a path $P$ of order $m$ such that $G-V(P)$ remains $k$-connected. This shows that the conjecture is true for paths with odd order. And for paths with even order, the minimum degree bound in this paper is the bound in the conjecture plus one.

Let $G$ be a connected graph and $g$ be a non-negative integer. The $g$-extra connectivity of $G$ is the minimum cardinality of a set of vertices in $G$, if it exists, whose removal disconnects $G$ and leaves every component with more than $g$ vertices. The strong product $G_1 \boxtimes G_2$ of graphs $G_1=(V_{1}, E_{1})$ and $G_2=(V_{2}, E_{2})$ is the graph with vertex set $V(G_1 \boxtimes G_2)=V_{1} \times V_{2}$, where two distinct vertices $(x_{1}, x_{2}), (y_{1}, y_{2}) \in V_{1} \times V_{2}$ are adjacent in $G_1 \boxtimes G_2$ if and only if $x_{i}=y_{i}$ or $x_{i} y_{i} \in E_{i}$ for $i=1, 2$. In this paper, we obtain the $g$-extra connectivity of the strong product of two paths, the strong product of a path and a cycle, and the strong product of two cycles.

The topology of an interconnection network can be modeled by a graph $G=(V(G),E(G))$. The connectivity of graph $G$ is a parameter to measure the reliability of corresponding network. Direct product is one important graph product. This paper mainly focuses on the super connectedness of direct product of graphs and cycles.
The connectivity of $G$, denoted by $κ(G)$, is the size of a minimum vertex set $S\subseteq V(G)$ such that $G-S$ is not connected or has only one vertex. The graph $G$ is said to be super connected, simply super-$κ$, if every minimum vertex cut is the neighborhood of a vertex with minimum degree. The direct product of two graphs $G$ and $H$, denoted by $G\times H$, is the graph with vertex set $V(G \times H) = V (G)\times V (H)$ and edge set $E(G \times H) = \{(u_{1} ,v_{1} )(u_{2} ,v_{2} )|\ u_{1}u_{2} \in E(G), v_{1}v_{2} \in E(H)\}$. In this paper, we give some sufficient conditions for direct product $G\times C_{n}$ to be super connected, where $C_{n}$ is the cycle on $n$ vertices. Furthermore, those sufficient conditions are best possible.

A conjecture of Luo, Tian and Wu (2022) says that for every positive integer $k$ and every finite tree $T$ with bipartition $X$ and $Y$ (denote $t = \max\{|X|,|Y |\})$, every $k$-connected bipartite graph $G$ with $δ(G) \geq k + t$ contains a subtree $T' \cong T$ such that $κ(G-V (T')) \geq k$. In this paper, we confirm this conjecture for caterpillars when $k=3$ and spiders when $k\leq 3$.
