Solvability of Semilinear Elliptic Equations on Infinite Graphs
We develop a constructive method for solving semilinear elliptic equations $Δu(x)=f(x,u(x))$ on locally finite, connected infinite graphs with layered structure. Using Eidelheit's theorem, we establish coupling criteria ensuring that arbitrary initial-layer data extend to global solutions for every $f$. We apply combinatorial criteria to prove solvability on leafless infinite trees, integer lattices, the triangular and hexagonal lattices, and a Cayley graph of the discrete Heisenberg group. We further establish solvability for a broad class of Cayley graphs of semidirect products $G\cong\mathbb Z\ltimes_θH$. In particular, $Δu=e^u$ has infinitely many solutions on $\mathbb Z^2$, but none of finite energy. We also extend the method to the bi-Laplacian under two-step coupling conditions, to the $p$-Laplacian under a unique-neighbor condition, and to magnetic Laplacians.

Nonexistence Results for Semilinear Parabolic and Hyperbolic Equations on Metric Graphs
This paper investigates the nonexistence of solutions to semilinear parabolic and hyperbolic inequalities with positive potentials on metric graphs, including both nonnegative solutions and sign-changing solutions. The Laplacian under consideration is of a nonstandard type, incorporating contributions from both the vertices and edges of the metric graph. We construct a new pseudo-metric and introduce suitable space-time test functions of either coupled or separated type. Under suitable weighted space-time volume growth conditions on the potential, we establish nonexistence results for very weak solutions. More precisely, we show that all such solutions to the inequality must be identically zero.

Nonexistence results for semilinear elliptic equations on metric graphs
In this paper, we study the nonexistence of solutions to semilinear elliptic equations with a positive potential on metric graphs. In particular, the Laplacian under consideration is of a special type, related to both the vertices and edges of metric graphs. We construct a modified distance function, introduce appropriate test functions, and establish the nonexistence of global solutions under suitable volume growth conditions imposed on the potential. More precisely, the nonnegative solutions or sign-changing solutions to the equations are the trivial zero solutions.

The Ricci flow with prescribed curvature on graphs
In this paper, we consider the Ricci flow with prescribed curvature on the finite graph $G=(V,E)$. For any $e$ in $E$, $$\frac{dω(t,e)}{dt} = -(κ(t,e)-κ^*(e))ω(t,e), t > 0,$$ where $ω$ is the weight function, $κ$ is Lin-Lu-Yau Ricci curvature, and $κ^*$ is the prescribed curvature. By imposing invariance of the graph distance with respect to time $t$, the Ricci flow introduced above characterizes the weight evolution governed by the Lin-Lu-Yau curvature. We first establish the existence and uniqueness of the solution to this equation on general graphs. Furthermore, for graphs with girth of at least 6, we prove that the Ricci flow converges exponentially to weights of $κ^*$ if and only if $κ^*$ is attainable (namely, there exist weights realizing $κ^*$). In particular, we prove that the weights for constant curvature exist if and only if $$\max_{\emptyset \neq Ω\subsetneq V} \frac{|E(Ω)|}{|Ω|} < \frac{|E|}{|V|},$$ where $E(Ω)$ denotes the set of edges within the induced subgraph of $Ω$, and $|A|$ is the cardinality of the set $A$. Viewing edge weights as metrics on surface tilings with girth of at least 5 or the duals of triangulations with vertex degrees exceeding 5, we demonstrate that our constant Lin-Lu-Yau curvature flow serves as an analog to the 2D combinatorial Ricci flow for piecewise constant curvature metrics, thereby providing an affirmative answer to Question 2 posed by Chow and Luo (J Differ Geom, 63(1) 2002).
Eigenvalues of the Hodge Laplacian on digraphs

This paper aims to compute and estimate the eigenvalues of the Hodge Laplacians on directed graphs. We have devised a new method for computing Hodge spectra with the following two ingredients. (I) We have observed that the product rule does work for the so-called normalized Hodge operator, denoted by $Δ_{p}^{(a)},$ where $a$ refers to the weight that is used to redefine the inner product in the spaces $Ω_{p}$. This together with the Künneth formula for product allows us to compute inductively the spectra of all normalized Hodge operators $Δ_{p}^{(a)}$ on Cartesian powers including $n$-cubes and $n$-tori. (II) We relate in a certain way the spectra of $Δ_{p}$ and $Δ_{p}^{(a)}$ to those of operators $\mathcal{L}_{p}=\partial ^{\ast }\partial$ also acting on $Ω_{p}$. Knowing the spectra of $Δ_{p}^{(a)}$ for all values of $p$, we compute the spectra of $\mathcal{L}_{p} $ and then the spectra of $Δ_{p}.$ This program yields the spectra of all operators $Δ_{p}$ on all $n$-cubes and $n$-tori.

Connection Heat Kernel On Connection Lattices And Connection Discrete Torus
By the connection graph we mean an underlying weighted graph with a connection which associates edge set with an orthogonal group. This paper centers its investigation on the connection heat kernels on connection lattices and connection discrete torus. For one dimensional connection lattice, we derive the connection heat kernel expression by doing the Taylor expansion on the exponential function involving normalized connection Laplacian. We introduce a novel connection called product connection and prove that the connection heat kernel on arbitrary high dimensional lattice with product connection equals the Kronecker sum of one dimensional connection lattices' connection heat kernels. Furthermore, if the connection graph is consistent, we substantiate the interrelation between its connection heat kernel and its underlying graph's heat kernel. We define a connection called quotient connection such that discrete torus with quotient connection can be considered as a quotient graph of connection lattice, whose connection heat kernel is demonstrated to be the sum of connection lattices' connection heat kernels. In addition, we derive an alternative expression of connection heat kernel on discrete torus whenever its quotient connection is a constant connection, yielding an equation as a connection graph's trace formula.

Connection Laplacian on discrete tori with converging property
This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the spectral properties of the connection Laplacian for both real and discrete tori. We introduce novel methods to examine these eigenvalues by employing parallel orthonormal basis in the pullback bundle on universal covering spaces. Our main results reveal that the eigenvalues of the connection Laplacian on a real torus can be expressed in terms of standard Laplacian eigenvalues, with a unique twist encapsulated in the torsion matrix. This connection is further investigated in the context of discrete tori, where we demonstrate similar results. A significant portion of the paper is dedicated to exploring the convergence properties of a family of discrete tori towards a real torus. We extend previous findings on the spectrum of the standard Laplacian to include the connection Laplacian, revealing that the rescaled eigenvalues of discrete tori converge to those of the real torus. Furthermore, our analysis of the discrete torus occurs within a broader context, where it is not constrained to being a product of cyclic groups. Additionally, we delve into the theta functions associated with these structures, providing a detailed analysis of their behavior and convergence. The paper culminates in a study of the regularized log-determinant of the connection Laplacian and the converging results of it. We derive formulae for both real and discrete tori, emphasizing their dependence on the spectral zeta function and theta functions.

Witten-Morse functions and Morse inequalities on digraphs
In this paper, we prove that discrete Morse functions on digraphs are flat Witten-Morse functions and Witten complexes of transitive digraphs approach to Morse complexes. We construct a chain complex consisting of the formal linear combinations of paths which are not only critical paths of the transitive closure but also allowed elementary paths of the digraph, and prove that the homology of the new chain complex is isomorphic to the path homology. On the basis of the above results, we give the Morse inequalities on digraphs.

Calculus of variations on locally finite graphs
Published • View PublicationBIB
Let $G=(V,E)$ be a locally finite graph. Firstly, using calculus of variations, including a direct method of variation and the mountain-pass theory, we get sequences of solutions to several local equations on $G$ (the Schrödinger equation, the mean field equation, and the Yamabe equation). Secondly, we derive uniform estimates for those local solution sequences. Finally, we obtain global solutions by extracting convergent sequence of solutions. Our method can be described as a variational method from local to global.

A heat flow for the mean field equation on a finite graph
Published • View PublicationBIB
Inspired by works of Castéras (Pacific J. Math., 2015), Li-Zhu (Calc. Var., 2019) and Sun-Zhu (Calc. Var., 2020), we propose a heat flow for the mean field equation on a connected finite graph $G=(V,E)$. Namely $$ \left\{\begin{array}{lll} \partial_tφ(u)=Δu-Q+ρ\frac{e^u}{\int_Ve^udμ}\\[1.5ex] u(\cdot,0)=u_0, \end{array}\right. $$ where $Δ$ is the standard graph Laplacian, $ρ$ is a real number, $Q:V\rightarrow\mathbb{R}$ is a function satisfying $\int_VQdμ=ρ$, and $φ:\mathbb{R}\rightarrow\mathbb{R}$ is one of certain smooth functions including $φ(s)=e^s$. We prove that for any initial data $u_0$ and any $ρ\in\mathbb{R}$, there exists a unique solution $u:V\times[0,+\infty)\rightarrow\mathbb{R}$ of the above heat flow; moreover, $u(x,t)$ converges to some function $u_\infty:V\rightarrow\mathbb{R}$ uniformly in $x\in V$ as $t\rightarrow+\infty$, and $u_\infty$ is a solution of the mean field equation $$Δu_\infty-Q+ρ\frac{e^{u_\infty}}{\int_Ve^{u_\infty}dμ}=0.$$ Though $G$ is a finite graph, this result is still unexpected, even in the special case $Q\equiv 0$. Our approach reads as follows: the short time existence of the heat flow follows from the ODE theory; various integral estimates give its long time existence; moreover we establish a Lojasiewicz-Simon type inequality and use it to conclude the convergence of the heat flow.

In this paper, we give a necessary and sufficient condition that discrete Morse functions on a digraph can be extended to be Morse functions on its transitive closure, from this we can extend the Morse theory to digraphs by using quasi-isomorphism between path complex and discrete Morse complex, we also prove a general sufficient condition for digraphs that the Morse functions satisfying this necessary and sufficient condition.

Torsion of digraphs and path complexes
We define the notions of Reidemeister torsion and analytic torsion for directed graphs by means of the path homology theory introduced by the authors in \cite{Grigoryan-Lin-Muranov-Yau2013, Grigoryan-Lin-Muranov-Yau2014, Grigoryan-Lin-Muranov-Yau2015, Grigoryan-Lin-Muranov-Yau2020}. We prove the identity of the two notions of torsions as well as obtain formulas for torsions of Cartesian products and joins of digraphs.

Ricci-flat cubic graphs with girth five
Published • View PublicationBIB
We classify all connected, simple, 3-regular graphs with girth at least 5 that are Ricci-flat. We use the definition of Ricci curvature on graphs given in Lin-Lu-Yau, Tohoku Math., 2011, which is a variation of Ollivier, J. Funct. Anal., 2009. A graph is Ricci-flat, if it has vanishing Ricci curvature on all edges. We show, that the only Ricci-flat cubic graphs with girth at least 5 are the Petersen graph, the Triplex and the dodecahedral graph. This will correct the classification in Lin-Lu-Yau, Comm. Anal. Geom., 2014, that misses the Triplex.

On-diagonal lower estimate of heat kernel on graphs
Published • View PublicationBIB
The purpose of this paper is to establish a new continuous-time on-diagonal lower estimate of heat kernel for large time on graphs. To achieve the goal, we first give an upper bound of heat kernel in natural graph metric, and then use this bound and the volume growth condition to show the validity of the on-diagonal lower bound.

Equivalent Properties of CD Inequality on Graph
We study some equivalent properties of the curvature-dimension conditions $CD(n,K)$ inequality on infinite, but locally finite graph. These equivalences are gradient estimate, Poincaré type inequalities and reverse Poincaré inequalities. And we also obtain one equivalent property of gradient estimate for a new notion of curvature-dimension conditions $CDE'(\infty, K)$ at the same assumption of graphs.

Volume doubling, Poincaré inequality and Guassian heat kernel estimate for nonnegative curvature graphs
Published • View PublicationBIB
By studying the heat semigroup, we prove Li-Yau type estimates for bounded and positive solutions of the heat equation on graphs, under the assumption of the curvature-dimension inequality $CDE'(n,0)$, which can be consider as a notion of curvature for graphs. Furthermore, we derive that if a graph has non-negative curvature then it has the volume doubling property, from this we can prove the Gaussian estimate for heat kernel, and then Poincaré inequality and Harnack inequality. As a consequence, we obtain that the dimension of space of harmonic functions on graphs with polynomial growth is finite, which original is a conjecture of Yau on Riemannian manifold proved by Colding and Minicozzi. Under the assumption of positive curvature on graphs, we derive the Bonnet-Myers type theorem that the diameter of graphs is finite and bounded above in terms of the positive curvature by proving some Log Sobolev inequalities.
Nodal geometry of graphs on surfaces

We prove two mixed versions of the Discrete Nodal Theorem of Davies et. al. [3] for bounded degree graphs, and for three-connected graphs of fixed genus $g$. Using this we can show that for a three-connected graph satisfying a certain volume-growth condition, the multiplicity of the $n$th Laplacian eigenvalue is at most $2\left[ 6(n-1) + 15(2g-2) \right]^2$. Our results hold for any Schrödinger operator, not just the Laplacian.
