The star edge coloring of cubic Halin graphs with star chromatic index $5$
The star chromatic index of a graph $G$, denoted by $χ'_{st}(G) $, is the minimum number of colors needed to properly color the edges of $G$ such that no path or cycle of length four is bi-colored. Casselgren et al. and Hou et al. independently proved that the star chromatic index of a cubic Halin graph, except a special graph, is at most $6$. It remains an open problem to determine which of such graphs have star chromatic index $5$. In this paper, we show that if $G\ne N_{e_2}$ is a cubic Halin graph whose tree is a caterpillar or a complete tree, then $χ'_{st}(G)=5$.
Strong list-chromatic index of subcubic graphs is at most 10
A strong edge coloring of a graph $G$ is an assignment of colors to the edges of $G$ such that two distinct edges are colored differently if they are incident to a common edge or share an endpoint. The strong chromatic index of a graph $G$, denoted by $χ_{s}'(G)$, is the minimum number of colors needed for a strong edge coloring of $G$. The edge weight of a graph $G$ is defined to be $\max\limits_{uv\in E(G)}\{(d_G(u)+d_G(v))\}$. It was proved in Chen et al in 2020 that every graph with edge weight at most 6 has a strong edge-coloring using at most 10 colors. In this paper, we consider the list version of strong edge-coloring. We strengthen this result by showing that every graph with edge weight at most 6 has a strong list-chromatic index at most 10. Specially, every subcubic graph has a strong list-chromatic index at most 10, which improves a result of Dai et al. in 2018.
Generalized Petersen graphs are (1,3)-choosable
A total weighting of a graph $G$ is a mapping $φ$ that assigns a weight to each vertex and each edge of $G$. The vertex-sum of $v \in V(G)$ with respect to $φ$ is $S_φ(v)=\sum_{e\in E(v)}φ(e)+φ(v)$. A total weighting is proper if adjacent vertices have distinct vertex-sums. A graph $G=(V,E)$ is called $(k,k')$-choosable if the following is true: If each vertex $x$ is assigned a set $L(x)$ of $k$ real numbers, and each edge $e$ is assigned a set $L(e)$ of $k'$ real numbers, then there is a proper total weighting $φ$ with $φ(y)\in L(y)$ for any $y \in V \cup E$. In this paper, we prove that the generalized Petersen graphs are $(1,3)$-choosable.
Bounds for eccentricity-based parameters of graphs
The \emph{eccentricity} of a vertex $u$ in a graph $G$, denoted by $e_G(u)$, is the maximum distance from $u$ to other vertices in $G$. We study extremal problems for the average eccentricity and the first and second Zagreb eccentricity indices, denoted by $σ_0(G)$, $σ_1(G)$, and $σ_2(G)$, respectively. These are defined by $σ_0(G)=\frac{1}{|V(G)|}\sum_{u\in V(G)}e_G(u)$, $σ_1(G)=\sum_{u\in V(G)}e_G^2(u)$, and $σ_2(G)=\sum_{uv\in E(G)}e_G(u)e_G(v)$. We study lower and upper bounds on these parameters among $n$-vertex connected graphs with fixed diameter, chromatic number, clique number, or matching number. Most of the bounds are sharp, with the corresponding extremal graphs characterized.
Linear algorithms on Steiner domination of trees
A set of vertices $W$ in a connected graph $G$ is called a Steiner dominating set if $W$ is both Steiner and dominating set. The Steiner domination number $γ_{st}(G)$ is the minimum cardinality of a Steiner dominating set of $G$. A linear algorithm is proposed in this paper for finding a minimum Steiner dominating set for a tree $T$.

Given a proper total $k$-coloring $c:V(G)\cup E(G)\to\{1,2,\ldots,k\}$ of a graph $G$, we define the value of a vertex $v$ to be $c(v) + \sum_{uv \in E(G)} c(uv)$. The smallest integer $k$ such that $G$ has a proper total $k$-coloring whose values form a proper coloring is the neighbor sum distinguishing total chromatic number of $G$, $χ"_Σ(G)$. Pilśniak and Woźniak (2013) conjectured that $χ"_Σ(G)\leq Δ(G)+3$ for any simple graph with maximum degree $Δ(G)$. In this paper, we prove this bound to be asymptotically correct by showing that $χ"_Σ(G)\leq Δ(G)(1+o(1))$. The main idea of our argument relies on Przybyło's proof (2014) regarding neighbor sum distinguishing edge-colorings.
