Motivated by a conjecture of Frid, Puzynina, and Zamboni, we investigate infinite words with the property that for infinitely many n, every length-n factor is a product of two palindromes. We show that every Sturmian word has this property, but this does not characterize the class of Sturmian words. We also show that the Thue-Morse word does not have this property. We investigate finite words with the maximal number of distinct palindrome pair factors and characterize the binary words that are not palindrome pairs but have the property that every proper factor is a palindrome pair.

The celebrated Erdős-Ko-Rado theorem determines the maximum size of a $k$-uniform intersecting family. The Hilton-Milner theorem determines the maximum size of a $k$-uniform intersecting family that is not a subfamily of the so-called Erdős-Ko-Rado family. In turn, it is natural to ask what the maximum size of an intersecting $k$-uniform family that is neither a subfamily of the Erdős-Ko-Rado family nor of the Hilton-Milner family is. For $k\ge 4$, this was solved (implicitly) in the same paper by Hilton-Milner in 1967. We give a different and simpler proof, based on the shifting method, which allows us to solve all cases $k\ge 3$ and characterize all extremal families achieving the extremal value.

In this article, we discuss when one can extend an r-regular graph to an r + 1 regular by adding edges. Different conditions on the num- ber of vertices n and regularity r are developed. We derive an upper bound of r, depending on n, for which, every regular graph G(n, r) can be extended to an r + 1-regular graph with n vertices. Presence of induced complete bipartite subgraph and complete subgraph is dis- cussed, separately, for the extension of regularity.
Combinatorial Auslander-Reiten quivers and reduced expressions
In this paper, we introduce the notion of combinatorial Auslander-Reiten(AR) quiver for commutation classes $[\widetilde{w}]$ of $w$ in finite Weyl group. This combinatorial object visualizes the convex partial order $\prec_{[\widetilde{w}]}$ on the subset $Φ(w)$ of positive roots. By analyzing properties of the combinatorial AR-quivers with labelings and reflection maps, we can apply their properties to the representation theory of KLR algebras and multiplication structure of dual PBW generators associated to any commutation class $[\widetilde{w}_0]$ of the longest element $w_0$.

The quantum codes with these parameters are constructed for the first time.

Let $Γ$ be a connected $G$-vertex-transitive graph, let $v$ be a vertex of $Γ$ and let $G_v^{Γ(v)}$ be the permutation group induced by the action of the vertex-stabiliser $G_v$ on the neighbourhood $Γ(v)$. The graph $Γ$ is said to be $G$-\emph{locally primitive} if $G_v^{Γ(v)}$ is primitive.
Richard Weiss conjectured in $1978$ that, there exists a function $f:\mathbb{N}\to \mathbb{N}$ such that, if $Γ$ is a connected $G$-vertex-transitive locally primitive graph of valency $d$ and $v$ is a vertex of $Γ$ with $|G_v|$ finite, then $|G_v|\leq f(d)$. As an application of the Local $C(G,T)$ Theorem, we prove this conjecture when $G_v^{Γ(v)}$ contains an abelian regular subgroup. In fact, we show that the point-wise stabiliser in $G$ of a ball of $Γ$ of radius $4$ is the identity subgroup.

The eigenvalues of the normalized Laplacian of a graph provide information on its topological and structural characteristics and also on some relevant dynamical aspects, specifically in relation to random walks. In this paper we determine the spectra of the normalized Laplacian of iterated triangulations of a generic simple connected graph. As an application, we also find closed-forms for their multiplicative degree-Kirchhoff index, Kemeny's constant and number of spanning trees.
Cycles in enhanced hypercubes
The enhanced hypercube $Q_{n,k}$ is a variant of the hypercube $Q_n$. We investigate all the lengths of cycles that an edge of the enhanced hypercube lies on. It is proved that every edge of $Q_{n,k}$ lies on a cycle of every even length from $4$ to $2^n$; if $k$ is even, every edge of $Q_{n,k}$ also lies on a cycle of every odd length from $k+3$ to $2^n-1$, and some special edges lie on a shortest odd cycle of length $k+1$.

We introduce new partial orders on the sequence positive roots and study the statistics of the poset by using Auslander-Reiten quivers for finite type ADE. Then we can prove that the statistics provide interesting information on the representation theories of KLR-algebras, quantum groups and quantum affine algebras including Dorey's rule, bases theory for quantum groups, and denominator formulas between fundamental representations. As applications, we prove Dorey's rule for quantum affine algebras $U_q(E_{6,7,8}^{(1)})$ and partial information of denominator formulas for $U_q(E_{6,7,8}^{(1)})$. We also suggest conjecture on complete denominator formulas for $U_q(E_{6,7,8}^{(1)})$.

We consider generalized metric spaces taking distances in an arbitrary ordered commutative monoid, and investigate when a class $\mathcal{K}$ of finite generalized metric spaces satisfies the Hrushovski extension property: for any $A\in\mathcal{K}$ there is some $B\in\mathcal{K}$ such that $A$ is a subspace of $B$ and any partial isometry of $A$ extends to a total isometry of $B$. Our main result is the Hrushovski property for the class of finite generalized metric spaces over a semi-archimedean monoid $\mathcal{R}$. When $\mathcal{R}$ is also countable, this can be used to show that the isometry group of the Urysohn space over $\mathcal{R}$ has ample generics. Finally, we prove the Hrushovski property for classes of integer distance metric spaces omitting triangles of uniformly bounded odd perimeter. As a corollary, given odd $n\geq 3$, we obtain ample generics for the automorphism group of the universal, existentially closed graph omitting cycles of odd length bounded by $n$.
Narrow arithmetic progressions in the primes

We study arithmetic progressions in primes with common differences as small as possible. Tao and Ziegler showed that, for any $k \geq 3$ and $N$ large, there exist non-trivial $k$-term arithmetic progressions in (any positive density subset of) the primes up to $N$ with common difference $O((\log N)^{L_k})$, for an unspecified constant $L_k$. In this work we obtain this statement with the precise value $L_k = (k-1) 2^{k-2}$. This is achieved by proving a relative version of Szemerédi's theorem for narrow progressions requiring simpler pseudorandomness hypotheses in the spirit of recent work of Conlon, Fox, and Zhao.

Let $\mathbb{K}$ be a field and $S=\mathbb{K}[x_1,\dots,x_n]$ be the polynomial ring in $n$ variables over $\mathbb{K}$. Let $G$ be a graph with $n$ vertices. Assume that $I=I(G)$ is the edge ideal of $G$ and $p$ is the number of its bipartite connected components. We prove that for every positive integer $k$, the inequalities ${\rm sdepth}(I^k/I^{k+1})\geq p$ and ${\rm sdepth}(S/I^k)\geq p$ hold. As a consequence, we conclude that $S/I^k$ satisfies the Stanley's inequality for every integer $k\geq n-1$. Also, it follows that $I^k/I^{k+1}$ satisfies the Stanley's inequality for every integer $k\gg 0$. Furthermore, we prove that if (i) $G$ is a non-bipartite graph, or (ii) at least one of the connected components of $G$ is a tree with at least one edge, then $I^k$ satisfies the Stanley's inequality for every integer $k\geq n-1$. Moreover, we verify a conjecture of the author in special cases.
On some conjectures concerning critical independent sets of a graph

Let $G$ be a simple graph with vertex set $V(G)$. A set $S\subseteq V(G)$ is independent if no two vertices from $S$ are adjacent. For $X\subseteq V(G)$, the difference of $X$ is $d(X) = |X|-|N(X)|$ and an independent set $A$ is critical if $d(A) = \max \{d(X): X\subseteq V(G) \text{ is an independent set}\}$ (possibly $A=\emptyset$). Let $\text{nucleus}(G)$ and $\text{diadem}(G)$ be the intersection and union, respectively, of all maximum size critical independent sets in $G$. In this paper, we will give two new characterizations of König-Egerváry graphs involving $\text{nucleus}(G)$ and $\text{diadem}(G)$. We also prove a related lower bound for the independence number of a graph. This work answers several conjectures posed by Jarden, Levit, and Mandrescu.

Let $t_1,\ldots,t_{n_l} \in \mathbb{R}^d$ and $p_1,\ldots,p_{n_s} \in \mathbb{R}^d$ and consider the bipartite location recovery problem: given a subset of pairwise direction observations $\{(t_i - p_j) / \|t_i - p_j\|_2\}_{i,j \in [n_l] \times [n_s]}$, where a constant fraction of these observations are arbitrarily corrupted, find $\{t_i\}_{i \in [n_ll]}$ and $\{p_j\}_{j \in [n_s]}$ up to a global translation and scale. We study the recently introduced ShapeFit algorithm as a method for solving this bipartite location recovery problem. In this case, ShapeFit consists of a simple convex program over $d(n_l + n_s)$ real variables. We prove that this program recovers a set of $n_l+n_s$ i.i.d. Gaussian locations exactly and with high probability if the observations are given by a bipartite Erdős-Rényi graph, $d$ is large enough, and provided that at most a constant fraction of observations involving any particular location are adversarially corrupted. This recovery theorem is based on a set of deterministic conditions that we prove are sufficient for exact recovery. Finally, we propose a modified pipeline for the Structure for Motion problem, based on this bipartite location recovery problem.
Toward the Combinatorial Limit Theory of Free Words
Free words are elements of a free monoid, generated over an alphabet via the binary operation of concatenation. Casually speaking, a free word is a finite string of letters. Henceforth, we simply refer to them as words. Motivated by recent advances in the combinatorial limit theory of graphs-notably those involving flag algebras, graph homomorphisms, and graphons-we investigate the extremal and asymptotic theory of pattern containment and avoidance in words. Word V is a factor of word W provided V occurs as consecutive letters within W. W is an instance of V provided there exists a nonerasing monoid homomorphsism φ with φ(V) = W. For example, using the homomorphism φ defined by φ(P) = Ror, φ(h) = a, and φ(D) = baugh, we see that Rorabaugh is an instance of PhD.
W avoids V if no factor of W is an instance of V. V is unavoidable provided, over any finite alphabet, there are only finitely many words that avoid V. Unavoidable words were classified by Bean, Ehrenfeucht, and McNulty (1979) and Zimin (1982). We briefly address the following Ramsey-theoretic question: For unavoidable word V and a fixed alphabet, what is the longest a word can be that avoids V? The density of V in W is the proportion of nonempty substrings of W that are instances of V. Since there are 45 substrings in Rorabaugh and 28 of them are instances of PhD, the density of PhD in Rorabaugh is 28/45. We establish a number of asymptotic results for word densities, including the expected density of a word in arbitrarily long, random words and the minimum density of an unavoidable word over arbitrarily long words.

In his famous theorem (1982), Douglas Leonard characterized the $q$-Racah polynomials and their relatives in the Askey scheme from the duality property of $Q$-polynomial distance-regular graphs. In this paper we consider a nonsymmetric (or Laurent) version of the $q$-Racah polynomials in the above situation. Let $Γ$ denote a $Q$-polynomial distance-regular graph that contains a Delsarte clique $C$. Assume that $Γ$ has $q$-Racah type. Fix a vertex $x \in C$. We partition the vertex set of $Γ$ according to the path-length distance to both $x$ and $C$. The linear span of the characteristic vectors corresponding to the cells in this partition has an irreducible module structure for the universal double affine Hecke algebra $\hat{H}_q$ of type $(C^{\vee}_1, C_1)$. From this module, we naturally obtain a finite sequence of orthogonal Laurent polynomials. We prove the orthogonality relations for these polynomials, using the $\hat{H}_q$-module and the theory of Leonard systems. Changing $\hat{H}_q$ by $\hat{H}_{q^{-1}}$ we show how our Laurent polynomials are related to the nonsymmetric Askey-Wilson polynomials, and therefore how our Laurent polynomials can be viewed as nonsymmetric $q$-Racah polynomials.

It is known that if $p$ is a sufficiently large prime then for every function $f:\mathbb{Z}_p\to [0,1]$ there exists a continuous function on the circle $f':\mathbb{T}\to [0,1]$ such that the averages of $f$ and $f'$ across any prescribed system of linear forms of complexity 1 differ by at most $ε$. This result follows from work of Sisask, building on Fourier-analytic arguments of Croot that answered a question of Green. We generalize this result to systems of complexity at most 2, replacing $\mathbb{T}$ with the torus $\mathbb{T}^2$ equipped with a specific filtration. To this end we use a notion of modelling for filtered nilmanifolds, that we define in terms of equidistributed maps, and we combine this with tools of quadratic Fourier analysis. Our results yield expressions on the torus for limits of combinatorial quantities involving systems of complexity 2 on $\mathbb{Z}_p$. For instance, let $m_4(α,\mathbb{Z}_p)$ denote the minimum, over all sets $A\subset \mathbb{Z}_p$ of cardinality at least $αp$, of the density of 4-term arithmetic progressions inside $A$. We show that $\lim_{p\to \infty} m_4(α,\mathbb{Z}_p)$ is equal to the infimum, over all measurable functions $f:\mathbb{T}^2\to [0,1]$ with $\int_{\mathbb{T}^2}f\geq α$, of the following integral: $$ \int_{\mathbb{T}^5} f\binom{x_1}{y_1}\; f\binom{x_1+x_2}{y_1+y_2}\;
f\binom{x_1+2x_2}{y_1+2y_2+y_3}\; f\binom{x_1+3 x_2}{y_1+3y_2+3y_3} \,dμ_{\mathbb{T}^5}(x_1,x_2,y_1,y_2,y_3). $$
Circular coloring of signed graphs

Let $k, d$ ($2d \leq k)$ be two positive integers. We generalize the well studied notions of $(k,d)$-colorings and of the circular chromatic number $χ_c$ to signed graphs. This implies a new notion of colorings of signed graphs, and the corresponding chromatic number $χ$. Some basic facts on circular colorings of signed graphs and on the circular chromatic number are proved, and differences to the results on unsigned graphs are analyzed. In particular, we show that the difference between the circular chromatic number and the chromatic number of a signed graph is at most 1. Indeed, there are signed graphs where the difference is 1. On the other hand, for a signed graph on $n$ vertices, if the difference is smaller than 1, then there exists $ε_n>0$, such that the difference is at most $1 - ε_n$.
We also show that notion of $(k,d)$-colorings is equivalent to $r$-colorings (see (X. Zhu, Recent developments in circular coloring of graphs, in Topics in Discrete Mathematics Algorithms and Combinatorics Volume 26, Springer Berlin Heidelberg (2006) 497-550)).
On enumeration of a class of maps on Klein bottle
We present enumerations of a class of maps on Klein bottle which give rise to semi-equivelar maps. Semi-equivelar maps are generalizations of equivelar maps. There are eleven types of semi-equivelar maps on the Klein bottle. These are of the types $\{3^{6}\}$, $\{4^{4}\}$, $\{6^{3}\}$, $\{3^{3},$ $4^{2}\}$, $\{3^{2},$ $4,$ $3,$ $4\}$, $\{3,$ $6,$ $3,$ $6\}$, $\{3^{4}, 6\}$, $\{4,$ $8^{2}\}$, $\{3, 12^{2}\}$, $\{4,$ $6,$ $12\}$, $\{3,$ $4,$ $6,$ $4\}$. In this article, we attempt to classify these maps.

Partial cubes are graphs isometrically embeddable into hypercubes. In this paper it is proved that every cubic, vertex-transitive partial cube is isomorphic to one of the following graphs: $K_2 \, \square \, C_{2n}$, for some $n\geq 2$, the generalized Petersen graph $G(10,3)$, the cubic permutahedron, the truncated cuboctahedron, or the truncated icosidodecahedron. This classification is a generalization of results of Brešar et al.~from 2004 on cubic mirror graphs, it includes all cubic, distance-regular partial cubes (Weichsel, 1992), and presents a contribution to the classification of all cubic partial cubes.
