A note on iterated sumsets races
This short note answers a question raised by Nathanson \cite{Nath25} about "races" between iterated sumsets. We prove that for any integer $n$, there are finite sets of integers $A$ and $B$ with same diameter such that the signs of the elements of the sequence $(|hA|-|hB|)_h$ changes at least $n$ times. Kravitz proved in \cite{Kravitz} a much better result. This brief and modest note may serve as a stepping stone towards his work.
Additively stable sets, critical sets for the 3k-4 theorem in $\mathbb{Z}$ and $\mathbb{R}$
We describe in this paper additively left stable sets, i.e. sets satisfying $\left((A+A)-\inf(A)\right)\cap[\inf(A),\sup(A)]=A$ (meaning that $A-\inf(A)$ is stable by addition with itself on its convex hull), when $A$ is a finite subset of integers and when $A$ is a bounded subset of real numbers. More precisely we give a sharp upper bound for the density of $A$ in $[\inf(A),x]$ for $x\le\sup(A)$, and construct sets reaching this density for any given $x$ in this range. This gives some information on sets involved in the structural description of some critical sets in Freiman's $3k-4$ theorem in both cases.
A Plünnecke-Ruzsa inequality in compact abelian groups

The Plünnecke-Ruzsa inequality is a fundamental tool to control the growth of finite subsets of abelian groups under repeated addition and subtraction. Other tools to handle sumsets have gained applicability by being extended to more general subsets of more general groups. This motivates extending the Plünnecke-Ruzsa inequality, in particular to measurable subsets of compact abelian groups by replacing the cardinality with the Haar probability measure. This objective is related to the question of the stability of classes of Haar measurable sets under addition. In this direction the class of analytic sets is a natural one to work with. We prove a Plünnecke-Ruzsa inequality for K-analytic sets in general compact (Hausdorff) abelian groups. We also discuss further extensions, some of which raise questions of independent interest in descriptive topology.
On sets with small sumset in the circle

We prove results on the structure of a subset of the circle group having positive inner Haar measure and doubling constant close to the minimum. These results go toward a continuous analogue in the circle of Freiman's $3k-4$ theorem from the integer setting. An analogue of this theorem in $\mathbb{Z}_p$ has been pursued extensively, and we use some recent results in this direction. For instance, obtaining a continuous analogue of a result of Serra and Zémor, we prove that if a subset $A$ of the circle is not too large and has doubling constant at most $2+\varepsilon$ with $\varepsilon<10^{-4}$, then for some integer $n>0$ the dilate $n\cdot A$ is included in an interval in which it has density at least $1/(1+\varepsilon)$. Our arguments yield other variants of this result as well, notably a version for two sets which makes progress toward a conjecture of Bilu. We include two applications of these results. The first is a new upper bound on the size of $k$-sum-free sets in the circle and in $\mathbb{Z}_p$. The second gives structural information on subsets of $\mathbb{R}$ of doubling constant at most $3+\varepsilon$.
Small sumsets in real line : a continuous 3k-4 theorem
We prove a continuous Freiman's $3k-4$ theorem for small sumsets in $\mathbb{R}$ by using some ideas from Ruzsa's work on measure of sumsets in $\mathbb{R}$ as well as some graphic representation of density functions of sets. We thereby get some structural properties of $A$, $B$ and $A+B$ when $λ(A+B)<λ(A)+λ(B)+\min(λ(A),λ(B))$. We also give some structural information for sets of large density with small sumset and characterize the extremal sets for which equality holds in the lower bounds for $λ(A+B)$.
Maximal sets with no solution to x+y=3z

In this paper, we are interested in a generalization of the notion of sum-free sets. We address a conjecture first made in the 90s by Chung and Goldwasser. Recently, after some computer checks, this conjecture was formulated again by Matolcsi and Ruzsa, who made a first significant step towards it. Here, we prove the full conjecture by giving an optimal upper bound for the Lebesgue measure of a 3-sum-free subset A of [0,1], that is, a set containing no solution to the equation x+y=3z where x,y and z are restricted to belong to A. We then address the inverse problem and characterize precisely, among all sets with that property, those attaining the maximal possible measure.
