Robustness of periodicity in Grover walks under a magnetic vector potential
We study the effect of magnetic vector potentials on periodic Grover walks on finite graphs. The magnetic vector potential is introduced through the framework of quantum graphs, which induces the Grover walk as a special case. We regard the vector potential as a perturbation of a periodic Grover walk and investigate the robustness of its periodicity. Our analysis reveals that the response to such perturbations depends on the spectral structure of the underlying graph. In particular, when the graph possesses at least one non-simple eigenvalue, we derive a Hermitian matrix that characterizes the robustness of its periodicity. As a consequence, we show that the perturbed dynamics is asymptotically described by a continuous-time quantum walk generated by this Hermitian matrix.
Quantum walks on graphs embedded in orientable surfaces
A quantum walk model which reflects the $2$-cell embedding on the orientable closed surface of a graph in the dynamics is introduced. We show that the scattering matrix is obtained by finding the faces on the underlying surface which have the overlap to the boundary and the stationary state is obtained by counting two classes of the rooted spanning subgraphs of the dual graph on the underlying embedding.
On symmetric spectra of Hermitian adjacency matrices for non-bipartite mixed graphs
We study the equivalence between bipartiteness and symmetry of spectra of mixed graphs, for $θ$-Hermitian adjacency matrices defined by an angle $θ\in (0, π]$. We show that this equivalence holds when, for example, an angle $θ$ is an algebraic number, while it breaks down for any angle $θ\in \mathbb{Q}π$. Furthermore, we construct a family of non-bipartite mixed graphs having the symmetric spectra for given $θ\in \mathbb{Q}π$.
A convergence time of Grover walk on regular graph to stationary state

We consider a quantum walk model on a finite graph which has an interaction with the outside. Here a quantum walker from the outside penetrates the graph and also a quantum walker in the graph goes out to the outside at every time step. This dynamics of the quantum walk converges to a stationary state. In this paper, we estimate the speed of the convergence to the stationary state on the $κ$-regular graph with the uniformly inserting of the inflow to the graph. We show that larger degree of the regular graph makes the convergence speed of this quantum walk model slower.

The exact formula for the average hitting time (HT, as an abbreviation) of simple random walks from one vertex to any other vertex on the square $C^2_N$ of an $N$-vertex cycle graph $C_N$ was given by N. Chair [\textit{Journal of Statistical Physics}, \textbf{154} (2014) 1177-1190]. In that paper, the author gives the expression for the even $N$ case and the expression for the odd $N$ case separately. In this paper, by using an elementary method different from Chair (2014), we give a much simpler single formula for the HT's of simple random walks on $C^2_N$. Our proof is considerably short and fully combinatorial, in particular, has no-need of any spectral graph theoretical arguments. Not only the formula itself but also intermediate results through the process of our proof describe clear relations between the HT's of simple random walks on $C^2_N$ and the Fibonacci numbers.

We study perfect state transfer in Grover walks, which are typical discrete-time quantum walk models. In particular, we focus on states associated to vertices of a graph. We call such states vertex type states. Perfect state transfer between vertex type states can be studied via Chebyshev polynomials. We derive a necessary condition on eigenvalues of a graph for perfect state transfer between vertex type states to occur. In addition, we perfectly determine the complete multipartite graphs whose partite sets are the same size on which perfect state transfer occurs between vertex type states, together with the time.

We present the structure theorem for the positive support of the cube of the Grover transition matrix of the discrete-time quantum walk (the Grover walk) on a general graph $G$ under same condition. Thus, we introduce a zeta function on the positive support of the cube of the Grover transition matrix of $G$, and present its Euler product and its determinant expression. As a corollary, we give the characteristic polynomial for the positive support of the cube of the Grover transition matrix of a regular graph, and so obtain its spectra. Finally, we present the poles and the radius of the convergence of this zeta function.

We propose a quantum walk defined by digraphs (mixed graphs). This is like Grover walk that is perturbed by a certain complex-valued function defined by digraphs. The discriminant of this quantum walk is a matrix that is a certain normalization of generalized Hermitian adjacency matrices. Furthermore, we give definitions of the positive and negative supports of the transfer matrix, and clarify explicit formulas of their supports of the square. In addition, we give tables by computer on the identification of digraphs by their eigenvalues.
Quantum graph walks II: Quantum walks on graph coverings
We give a new determinant expression for the characteristic polynomial of the bond scattering matrix of a quantum graph G. Also, we give a decomposition formula for the characteristic polynomial of the bond scattering matrix of a regular covering of G. Furthermore, we define an L-function of G, and give a determinant expression of it. As a corollary, we express the characteristic polynomial of the bond scattering matrix of a regular covering of G by means of its L-functions. As an application, we introduce three types of quantum graph walks, and treat their relation.
