$\mathfrak{sl}(2)$-weight system does not extend to a graph 4-invariant
A long-standing question by S. Lando asks whether the $\mathfrak{sl}(2)$-weight system extends to a unique 4-invariant of graphs. We show that, in full generality, the answer to this question is negative. However, for certain specializations of the weight system, extensions do exist. Explicit formulae for computing two such specializations of the weight system are already known. We construct recurrence relations for one additional such extension and discuss the last remaining specialization, which conjecturally admits an extension. We also study the polynomial coefficients of the $\mathfrak{sl}(2)$-weight system and resolve the questions concerning their extension.
A refined twist on Hurwitz numbers
We introduce a two-parameter refinement of the Jucys-Murphy theory, that we call the CJT-refinement, unifying Schur, zonal, and, conjecturally, Jack actions of the ring of symmetric functions on the Fock space. Applications of this formalism include a partial resolution of a recent conjecture of Coulter-Do, as well as cut-and-join recursion for $b$-Hurwitz numbers. The cut-and-join equations enable the derivation of the tropicalization of $b$--Hurwitz numbers. We also provide a first application of this tropical interpretation by answering an open problem of Chapuy-Dołęga on the polynomial structure of $b$-Hurwitz numbers.

We introduce $(r+1)$-completed cycles $k$-leaky Hurwitz numbers and prove piecewise polynomiality as well as establishing their chamber polynomiality structure and their wall crossing formulae. For $k=0$ the results recover previous results of Shadrin-Spitz-Zvonkine. The specialization for $r=1$ recovers Hurwitz numbers that are close to the ones studied by Cavalieri-Markwig-Ranganathan and Cavalieri-Markwig-Schmitt. The ramifications differ by a lower order torus correction, natural from the Fock space perspective, not affecting the genus zero enumeration, nor the enumeration for leaky parameter values $k = \pm 1$ in all genera.

We construct a 4-invariant that extends a specialization of the $\mathfrak{sl}(2)$-weight system at $c = \frac 38$, and satisfies a simple deletion-contraction relation.
Hurwitz numbers for reflection groups $G(m,1,n)$
We are extending results from \cite{B-Hurwitz} by building a parallel theory of simple Hurwitz numbers for the reflection groups $G(m,1,n)$. We also study analogs of the cut-and-join operators. An algebraic description as well as a description in terms of ramified covering of Hurwitz numbers is provided. An explicit formula for them in terms of Schur polynomials are provided. In addition the generating function of $G(m,1,n)$-Hurwitz numbers is shown to give rise to $m$ independent variables $τ$-function of the KP hierarchy. Finally we provide an ELSV-formula type for these new Hurwitz numbers.

Lando framed graph bialgebra is generated by framed graphs modulo 4-term relations. We provide an explicit set of generators of its primitive subspace and a description of the set of relations between the generators. We also define an operation of leaf addition that endows the primitive subspace of Lando algebra with a structure of a module over the ring of polynomials in one variable and construct a 4-invariant that satisfies a simple identity with respect to the vertex-multiplication.

Double Hurwitz numbers enumerate branched covers of $\mathbb{CP}^1$ with prescribed ramification over two points and simple ramification elsewhere. In contrast to the single case, their underlying geometry is not well understood. In previous work by the second- and third-named authors, the double Hurwitz numbers were conjectured to satisfy a polynomiality structure and to be governed by the topological recursion, analogous to existing results concerning single Hurwitz numbers. In this paper, we resolve these conjectures by a careful analysis of the semi-infinite wedge representation for double Hurwitz numbers, by pushing further methods previously used for other Hurwitz problems. We deduce a preliminary version of an ELSV-like formula for double Hurwitz numbers, by deforming the Johnson-Pandharipande-Tseng formula for orbifold Hurwitz numbers and using properties of the topological recursion under variation of spectral curves. In the course of this analysis, we unveil certain vanishing properties of the Chiodo classes.

Single Hurwitz numbers enumerate branched covers of the Riemann sphere with specified genus, prescribed ramification over infinity, and simple branching elsewhere. They exhibit a remarkably rich structure. In particular, they arise as intersection numbers on moduli spaces of curves and are governed by the topological recursion of Chekhov, Eynard and Orantin. Double Hurwitz numbers are defined analogously, but with prescribed ramification over both zero and infinity. Goulden, Jackson and Vakil have conjectured that double Hurwitz numbers also arise as intersection numbers on moduli spaces.
In this paper, we repackage double Hurwitz numbers as enumerations of branched covers weighted by certain monomials and conjecture that they are governed by the topological recursion. Evidence is provided in the form of the associated quantum curve and low genus calculations. We furthermore reduce the conjecture to a weaker one, concerning a certain polynomial structure of double Hurwitz numbers. Via the topological recursion framework, our main conjecture should lead to a direct connection to enumerative geometry, thus shedding light on the aforementioned conjecture of Goulden, Jackson and Vakil.
Monotone orbifold Hurwitz numbers

In general, Hurwitz numbers count branched covers of the Riemann sphere with prescribed ramification data, or equivalently, factorisations in the symmetric group with prescribed cycle structure data. In this paper, we initiate the study of monotone orbifold Hurwitz numbers. These are simultaneously variations of the orbifold case and generalisations of the monotone case, both of which have been previously studied in the literature. We derive a cut-and-join recursion for monotone orbifold Hurwitz numbers, determine a quantum curve governing their wave function, and state an explicit conjecture relating them to topological recursion.

Let $G$ be a finite group. In this paper we present a tool for counting the number of principle $G$-bundles over a surface. As an application, we express (non-standard) generating functions for double Hurwitz numbers as integrals over commutative Frobenius algebras, associated with symmetric groups.
