Decomposition results for multiplicative actions and applications
Motivated by partition regularity problems of homogeneous quadratic equations, we prove multiple recurrence and convergence results for multiplicative measure preserving actions with iterates given by rational sequences involving polynomials that factor into products of linear forms in two variables. We focus mainly on actions that are finitely generated, and the key tool in our analysis is a decomposition result for any bounded measurable function into a sum of two components, one that mimics concentration properties of pretentious multiplicative functions and another that mimics vanishing properties of aperiodic multiplicative functions. Crucial to part of our arguments are some new seminorms that are defined by a mixture of addition and multiplication of the iterates of the action, and we prove an inverse theorem that explicitly characterizes the factor of the system on which these seminorms vanish.

In this paper, we study vanishing of Fourier coefficients of holomorphic $η$-quotients. We investigate examples of two different types: the first one involves integral weight CM newforms, while the second one involves half-integral weight $η$-quotients associated with sums of squares and Hurwitz class numbers.
On Vanishing Properties of Polynomials on Symmetric Sets of the Boolean Cube, in Positive Characteristic
The finite-degree Zariski (Z-) closure is a classical algebraic object, that has found a key place in several applications of the polynomial method in combinatorics. In this work, we characterize the finite-degree Z-closures of a subclass of symmetric sets (subsets that are invariant under permutations of coordinates) of the Boolean cube, in positive characteristic.
Our results subsume multiple statements on finite-degree Z-closures that have found applications in extremal combinatorial problems, for instance, pertaining to set systems (Hegedűs, Stud. Sci. Math. Hung. 2010; Hegedűs, arXiv 2021), and Boolean circuits (Hrǔbes et al., ICALP 2019). Our characterization also establishes that for the subclasses of symmetric sets that we consider, the finite-degree Z-closures have low computational complexity.
A key ingredient in our characterization is a new variant of finite-degree Z-closures, defined using vanishing conditions on only symmetric polynomials satisfying a degree bound.

Double Hurwitz numbers enumerate branched covers of $\mathbb{CP}^1$ with prescribed ramification over two points and simple ramification elsewhere. In contrast to the single case, their underlying geometry is not well understood. In previous work by the second- and third-named authors, the double Hurwitz numbers were conjectured to satisfy a polynomiality structure and to be governed by the topological recursion, analogous to existing results concerning single Hurwitz numbers. In this paper, we resolve these conjectures by a careful analysis of the semi-infinite wedge representation for double Hurwitz numbers, by pushing further methods previously used for other Hurwitz problems. We deduce a preliminary version of an ELSV-like formula for double Hurwitz numbers, by deforming the Johnson-Pandharipande-Tseng formula for orbifold Hurwitz numbers and using properties of the topological recursion under variation of spectral curves. In the course of this analysis, we unveil certain vanishing properties of the Chiodo classes.

Let $b_\ell(n)$ be the number of $\ell$-regular partitions of $n$. Recently, Hou et al established several infinite families of congruences for $b_\ell(n)$ modulo $m$, where $(\ell,m)=(3,3),(6,3),(5,5),(10,5)$ and $(7,7)$. In this paper, by the vanishing property given by Hou et al, we show an infinite family of congruence for $b_{11}(n)$ modulo $11$. Moreover, for $\ell= 3, 13$ and $25$, we obtain three infinite families of congruences for $b_{\ell}(n)$ modulo $3, 5$ and $13$ by the theory of Hecke eigenforms.

Vector-valued Jack polynomials associated to the symmetric group ${\mathfrak S}_N$ are polynomials with multiplicities in an irreducible module of ${\mathfrak S}_N$ and which are simultaneous eigenfunctions of the Cherednik-Dunkl operators with some additional properties concerning the leading monomial. These polynomials were introduced by Griffeth in the general setting of the complex reflections groups $G(r,p,N)$ and studied by one of the authors (C. Dunkl) in the specialization $r=p=1$ (i.e. for the symmetric group). By adapting a construction due to Lascoux, we describe an algorithm allowing us to compute explicitly the Jack polynomials following a Yang-Baxter graph. We recover some properties already studied by C. Dunkl and restate them in terms of graphs together with additional new results. In particular, we investigate normalization, symmetrization and antisymmetrization, polynomials with minimal degree, restriction etc. We give also a shifted version of the construction and we discuss vanishing properties of the associated polynomials.
Quadratic transformations of Macdonald and Koornwinder polynomials

When one expands a Schur function in terms of the irreducible characters of the symplectic (or orthogonal) group, the coefficient of the trivial character is 0 unless the indexing partition has an appropriate form. A number of q-analogues of this fact were conjectured in math.QA/0112035; the present paper proves most of those conjectures, as well as some new identities suggested by the proof technique. The proof involves showing that a nonsymmetric version of the relevant integral is annihilated by a suitable ideal of the affine Hecke algebra, and that any such annihilated functional satisfies the desired vanishing property. This does not, however, give rise to vanishing identities for the standard nonsymmetric Macdonald and Koornwinder polynomials; we discuss the required modification to these polynomials to support such results.
Frobenius-Schur functions: summary of results
We introduce and study a family of inhomogeneous symmetric functions which we call the Frobenius-Schur functions. These functions are indexed by partitions and differ from the conventional Schur functions in lower terms only.
Our interest in these new functions comes from the fact that they provide an explicit expression for the dimension of a skew Young diagram in terms of the Frobenius coordinates. This is important for the asymptotic theory of the characters of the symmetric groups.
Our main result is a surprisingly simple determinantal expression of the Frobenius-Schur functions in terms of the conventional Schur functions. Other results include certain generating series, the Giambelli formula, vanishing properties and interpolation, a combinatorial formula (representation in terms of tableaux), and a Sergeev-Pragacz-type formula.
Actually, we deal with a wider class of inhomogeneous symmetric functions which we call multiparameter Schur functions. These functions depend on an arbitrary doubly infinite sequence of parameters and interpolate between the Frobenius--Schur functions and the conventional Schur functions.
This paper contains the statements of the results and the main formulas. Proofs will be given in an expanded version of the paper which will be posted in the arXiv.
