Degree-one Pieri rule for non-symmetric Jack polynomials
We give a degree-one Pieri formula for integral nonsymmetric Jack polynomials. In direct analogy with the symmetric case, its coefficients are described by a combinatorial device called jeu de fleches, a filling of composition diagrams. The proof is self-contained and uses reflection and raising recursions which appear to be new
Stable Symmetric Series, Differential Operators, and Jack Deformations
We introduce stable symmetric series which encode normalized conjugacy classes and their multiplication operators simultaneously for all symmetric groups. This gives a direct route from the Ivanov--Kerov algebra to shifted symmetric functions and to differential operators in $U(\mathcal W_{1+\infty})$. Using the Goulden--Jackson product, we extend the construction to Jack polynomials, recover shifted Jack eigenvalues and Pieri-type relations, and obtain explicit candidate operators in degrees three and four. Their real and quaternionic specializations to zonal polynomials are verified by Gaussian matrix integrals and exhaustive Wick enumeration.
Majorization Inequalities from Logarithmic Convexity
Majorization inequalities for symmetric polynomials have interested mathematicians for centuries, from the AM-GM inequality for two variables going back at least to Euclid, through classical results of Newton, Muirhead and Gantmacher, to more recent extensions to Schur polynomials and zonal spherical functions. These have been established case by case, with no unified approach. Although it is known that majorization inequalities follow from symmetry and convexity in the indexing partition, the difficulty of proving convexity in specific cases has left a number of outstanding conjectures inaccessible until now.
The key insight of this paper is that log-convexity provides both a more versatile tool and a unifying principle. It implies convexity and hence majorization, and it is preserved under multiplication and weighted averaging, making it well suited to inductive arguments in a wide range of settings. Using this idea, we prove new majorization inequalities for Macdonald polynomials, Jack polynomials and Heckman-Opdam hypergeometric functions, unifying existing results and resolving several open conjectures.
A Characterization of Macdonald's Jack Hypergeometric Series ${}_pF_q(x;α)$ and ${}_pF_q(x,y;α)$ via Differential Equations
In a widely circulated manuscript from the 1980s, now available on the arXiv, I.~G.~Macdonald introduced certain multivariable hypergeometric series ${}_pF_q(x)= {}_pF_q(x;α)$ and ${}_pF_q(x,y)= {}_pF_q(x,y;α)$ in one and two sets of variables $x=(x_1,\dots x_n)$ and $y=(y_1,\dots y_n)$. These two series are defined by explicit expansions in terms of Jack polynomials $J^{(α)}_λ$, and for $α=2$ they specialize to the hypergeometric series of matrix arguments studied by Herz (1955) and Constantine (1963) that admit analogous expansions in terms of zonal polynomials.
In this paper we determine explicit partial differential equations that characterize ${}_pF_q$, thereby answering a question posed by Macdonald. More precisely, for each $n,p,q$ we construct three differential operators $\mathcal A=\mathcal A^{(x,y)}$, $\mathcal B=\mathcal B^{(x)}$, $\mathcal C=C^{(x)}$, and we show that ${}_pF_q(x,y)$ and ${}_pF_q(x)$ are the unique series solutions of the equations $\mathcal A(f)=0$ and $\mathcal C(f)=0$, respectively, subject to certain symmetry and boundary conditions. We also prove that the equation $\mathcal B(f)=0$ characterizes ${}_pF_q(x)$, but only after one restricts the domain of $\mathcal B$ to the set of series satisfying an additional stability condition with respect to $n$.
Special cases of the operators $\mathcal A$ and $\mathcal B$ have been constructed previously in the literature, but only for a small number of pairs $(p,q)$, namely for $p \leq 3$ and $q \leq 2$ in the zonal case by Muirhead (1970), Constantine--Muirhead (1972), and Fujikoshi (1975); and for $p \leq 2$ and $q \leq 1$ in the general Jack case by Macdonald (1980s), Yan (1992), Kaneko (1993), and Baker--Forrester (1997). However the operator $\mathcal C$ seems to be new even for these special cases.

Binomial formulas for Schur polynomials and Jack polynomials were studied by Lascoux in 1978, and Kaneko, Okounkov--Olshanski and Lassalle in the 1990s. We prove that the associated binomial coefficients are monotone and derive some symmetric function inequalities, in particular, a Schur positivity and Jack positivity result. These inequalities are similar to those studied by Newton, Muirhead, Gantmacher, Cuttler--Greene--Skandera, Sra and Khare--Tao.
From Weingarten calculus for real Grassmannians to deformations of monotone Hurwitz numbers and Jucys-Murphy elements
The present work is inspired by three interrelated themes: Weingarten calculus for integration over unitary groups, monotone Hurwitz numbers which enumerate certain factorisations of permutations into transpositions, and Jucys-Murphy elements in the symmetric group algebra. The authors and Moskovsky recently extended this picture to integration on complex Grassmannians, leading to a deformation of the monotone Hurwitz numbers to polynomials that are conjectured to satisfy remarkable interlacing phenomena.
In this paper, we consider integration on the real Grassmannian $\mathrm{Gr}_\mathbb{R}(M,N)$, interpreted as the space of $N \times N$ idempotent real symmetric matrices of rank $M$. We show that in the regime of large $N$ and fixed $\frac{M}{N}$, such integrals have expansions whose coefficients are variants of monotone Hurwitz numbers that are polynomials in the parameter $t = 1 - \frac{N}{M}$.
We define a "$b$-Weingarten calculus", without reference to underlying matrix integrals, that recovers the unitary case at $b = 0$ and the orthogonal case at $b = 1$. The $b$-monotone Hurwitz numbers, previously introduced by Bonzom, Chapuy and Dolega, arise naturally in this context as monotone factorisations of pair partitions. The $b$- and $t$-deformations can be combined to form a common generalisation, leading to the notion of $bt$-monotone Hurwitz numbers, for which we state several results and conjectures.
Finally, we introduce certain linear operators inspired by the aforementioned $b$-Weingarten calculus that can be considered as $b$-deformations of the Jucys-Murphy elements in the symmetric group algebra. We make several conjectures regarding these operators that generalise known properties of the Jucys-Murphy elements and make a connection to the family of Jack symmetric functions.
Equivariant Chern character operators and Okounkov's conjecture
In this paper, we study the Chern character operators on the equivariant cohomology of the Hilbert schemes of points in the complex affine plane $C^2$ with the action of the torus $(C^*)^2$, and partially verify Okounkov's Conjecture [Oko, Conjecture 2] in this setting. Our main idea is to apply the connection between the equivariant cohomology of these Hilbert schemes and the ring of symmetric functions, via the deformed vertex operators of Cheng and Wang [CW], (the integral form of) the Jack symmetric functions and the transformed Macdonald symmetric functions of Garsia and Haiman [GH, Hai].
Discrete $N$-particle systems at high temperature through Jack generating functions
We find necessary and sufficient conditions for the Law of Large Numbers for random discrete $N$-particle systems with the deformation (inverse temperature) parameter $θ$, as their size $N$ tends to infinity simultaneously with the inverse temperature going to zero. Our conditions are expressed in terms of the Jack generating functions, and our analysis is based on the asymptotics of the action of Cherednik operators obtained via Hecke relations. We apply the general framework to obtain the LLN for a large class of Markov chains of $N$ nonintersecting particles with interaction of log-gas type, and the LLN for the multiplication of Jack polynomials, as the inverse temperature tends to zero. We express the answer in terms of novel one-parameter deformations of cumulants and their description provided by us recovers previous work by Bufetov--Gorin on quantized free cumulants when $θ=1$, and by Benaych-Georges--Cuenca--Gorin after a deformation to continuous space of random matrix eigenvalues. Our methods are robust enough to be applied to the fixed temperature regime, where we recover the LLN of Huang.
Macdonald characters from a new formula for Macdonald polynomials
We introduce a new operator $Γ$ on symmetric functions, which enables us to obtain a creation formula for Macdonald polynomials. This formula provides a connection between the theory of Macdonald operators initiated by Bergeron, Garsia, Haiman and Tesler, and shifted Macdonald polynomials introduced by Knop, Lassalle, Okounkov and Sahi.
We use this formula to introduce a two-parameter generalization of Jack characters, which we call Macdonald characters. Finally, we provide a change of variables in order to formulate several positivity conjectures related to these generalized characters. Our conjectures extend some important open problems on Jack polynomials, including some famous conjectures of Goulden and Jackson.
$qt$RSK${}^*$: A probabilistic dual RSK correspondence for Macdonald polynomials
We introduce a probabilistic generalization of the dual Robinson--Schensted--Knuth correspondence, called $qt$RSK${}^*$, depending on two parameters $q$ and $t$. This correspondence extends the $q$RS$t$ correspondence, recently introduced by the authors, and allows the first tableaux-theoretic proof of the dual Cauchy identity for Macdonald polynomials. By specializing $q$ and $t$, one recovers the row and column insertion version of the classical dual RSK correspondence as well as of $q$- and $t$-deformations thereof which are connected to $q$-Whittaker and Hall--Littlewood polynomials. When restricting to Jack polynomials and $\{0,1\}$-matrices corresponding to words, we prove that the insertion tableaux obtained by $qt$RSK${}^*$ are invariant under swapping letters in the input word. Our approach is based on Fomin's growth diagrams and the notion of probabilistic bijections.
Interpolation Polynomials, Binomial Coefficients, and Symmetric Function Inequalities
Interpolation polynomials were introduced by Knop--Sahi in type $A$, and Okounkov in type $BC$. They are inhomogeneous polynomials whose top terms are Jack and Macdonald polynomials. Thus the expansion coefficients for the product of two interpolation polynomials, known as Littlewood--Richardson coefficients, generalize the corresponding coefficients for Jack/Macdonald polynomials. Special values of interpolation polynomials, known as binomial coefficients, arise in the binomial type expansions of Jack/Macdonald polynomials and Koornwinder polynomials.
We prove a number of results for interpolation polynomials and the associated coefficients. These include positivity and monotonicity results for binomial coefficients, partial positivity results for Littlewood--Richardson coefficients, and weighted sum formulas for both kinds of coefficients.
As a special case of our results we obtain a new symmetric function inequality, which establishes a ``duality'' between Jack expansion positivity for symmetric functions, and the containment order on partitions, with respect to the shifted basis $Ω_λ({\bf1}+x;τ)$, where ${\bf1} =(1,\ldots,1)$ and $Ω_λ(x;τ)=P_λ(x;τ)/P_λ({\bf1};τ)$ is the normalized Jack polynomial.
Our inequality can be seen as an analog of the inequalities of Cuttler--Greene--Skandera+Sra and Khare--Tao, which establish similar dualities between evaluation positivity on the positive orthant, and the dominance and weak dominance orders on partitions, with respect to the normalized Schur basis $Ω_λ(x)=s_λ(x)/s_λ({\bf1})$ and its shifted version $Ω_λ({\bf1}+x)$, respectively. In contrast to our result, the Jack versions of the two latter inequalities, although expected to hold, have not yet been proved.
Differential equations for the series of hypermaps with control on their full degree profile
We consider the generating series of oriented and non-oriented hypermaps with controlled degrees of vertices, hyperedges and faces. It is well known that these series have natural expansions in terms of Schur and Zonal symmetric functions, and with some particular specializations, they satisfy the celebrated KP and BKP equations.
We prove that the full generating series of hypermaps satisfy a family of differential equations. We give a first proof which works for an $α$ deformation of these series related to Jack polynomials. This proof is based on a recent construction formula for Jack characters using differential operators. We also provide a combinatorial proof for the orientable case.
Our approach also applies to the series of $k$-constellations with control of the degrees of vertices of all colors. In other words, we obtain an equation for the generating function of Hurwitz numbers (and their $α$-deformations) with control of full ramification profiles above an arbitrary number of points. Such equations are new even in the orientable case.
Probabilistic operators for non-attacking tableaux and a compact formula for the symmetric Macdonald polynomials
We prove a new tableaux formula for the symmetric Macdonald polynomials $P_λ(X;q,t)$ that has considerably fewer terms and simpler weights than previously existing formulas. Our formula is a sum over certain sorted non-attacking tableaux, weighted by the queue inversion statistic quinv. The quinv statistic originates from a formula for the modified Macdonald polynomials $\widetilde{H}_λ(X;q,t)$ due to Ayyer, Martin, and the author (2022), and is naturally related to the dynamics of the asymmetric simple exclusion process (ASEP) on a circle.
We prove our results by introducing probabilistic operators that act on non-attacking tableaux to generate a set of tableaux whose weighted sum equals $P_λ(X;q,t)$. These operators are a modification of the inversion flip operators of Loehr and Niese (2012), which yield an involution on tableaux that preserves the major index statistic, but fails to preserve the non-attacking condition. Our tableaux are in bijection with the multiline queues introduced by Martin (2020), allowing us to derive an alternative multiline queue formula for $P_λ(X;q,t)$. Finally, our formula recovers an alternative formula for the Jack polynomials $J_λ(X;α)$ due to Knop and Sahi (1996) using the same queue inversion statistic.
The Stanley Conjecture Revisited
In the seminal work of Stanley, several conjectures were made on the structure of Littlewood-Richardson coefficients for the multiplication of Jack symmetric functions. Motivated by recent results of Alexandersson and the present author, we postulate that a `windowing' property holds for all such Jack L-R coefficients. Furthermore, we propose an extension of the `Factorization' property for Schur L-R due to King-Tollu-Toumazet to the Jack case. These properties provide a vast set of relations between the Jack L-R coefficients and allow for their direct computation in a certain large class of cases.
A note on the map expansion of Jack polynomials
In a recent work, Maciej Dołe\k{}ga and the author have given a formula of the expansion of the Jack polynomial $J^{(α)}_λ$ in the power-sum basis as a non-orientability generating series of bipartite maps whose edges are decorated with the boxes of the partition $λ$.
We conjecture here a variant of this expansion in which we restrict the sum on maps whose edges are injectively decorated by the boxes of $λ$. We prove this conjecture for Jack polynomials indexed by 2-column partitions. The proof uses a mix of combinatorial methods and differential operator computations.
New cases of the Strong Stanley Conjecture
We make progress towards understanding the structure of Littlewood-Richardson coefficients $g_{λ,μ}^ν$ for products of Jack symmetric functions. Building on recent results of the second author, we are able to prove new cases of a conjecture of Stanley in which certain families of these coefficients can be expressed as a product of upper or lower hook lengths for every box in each of the partitions. In particular, we prove that conjecture in the case of a rectangular union, i.e. for $g_{μ,\bar σ}^{μ\cup m^n}$ where $\bar σ$ is the complementary partition of $σ= μ\cap m^n$ in the rectangular partition $m^n$. We give a formula for these coefficients through an explicit prescription of such choices of hooks. Lastly, we conjecture an analogue of this conjecture of Stanley holds in the case of Shifted Jack functions.

Let $\mathfrak g$ be either the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(V)\oplus\mathfrak{gl}(V)$ where $V:=\mathbb C^{m|n}$ or the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(V)$ where $V:=\mathbb C^{m|2n}$. Furthermore, let $W$ be the $\mathfrak g$-module defined by $W:=V\otimes V^*$ in the former case and $W:=\mathcal S^2(V)$ in the latter case. Associated to $(\mathfrak g,W)$ there exists a distinguished basis of Capelli operators $\left\{D^λ\right\}_{λ\inΩ}$, naturally indexed by a set of hook partitions $Ω$, for the subalgebra of $\mathfrak g$-invariants in the superalgebra $\mathcal{PD}(W)$ of superdifferential operators on $W$.
Let $\mathfrak b$ be a Borel subalgebra of $\mathfrak g$. We compute eigenvalues of the $D^λ$ on the irreducible $\mathfrak g$-submodules of $\mathcal{P}(W)$ and obtain them explicitly as the evaluation of the interpolation super Jack polynomials of Sergeev--Veselov at suitable affine functions of the $\mathfrak b$-highest weight. While the former case is straightforward, the latter is significantly more complex. This generalizes a result by Sahi, Salmasian and Serganova for these cases, where such formulas were given for a fixed choice of Borel subalgebra.
Positive formula for Jack polynomials, Jack characters and proof of Lassalle's conjecture
We give an explicit formula for the power-sum expansion of Jack polynomials. We deduce it from a more general formula, which we provide here, that interprets Jack characters in terms of bipartite maps. We prove Lassalle's conjecture from 2008 on integrality and positivity of Jack characters in Stanley's coordinates and give a new formula for Jack polynomials using creation operators.

3D (3 dimensional) Young diagrams are a generalization of 2D Young diagrams. In this paper, We consider 3D Bosons and 3-Jack polynomials. We associate three parameters $h_1,h_2,h_3$ to $y,x,z$-axis respectively. 3-Jack polynomials are polynomials of $P_{n,j},
n\geq j$ with coefficients in $\mathbb C(h_1,h_2,h_3)$, which are the generalization of Schur functions and Jack polynomials to 3D case. Similar to Schur functions, 3-Jack polynomials can also be determined by the vertex operators and the Pieri formulas.

In their study of Jack polynomials, Nazarov-Sklyanin introduced a remarkable new graded linear operator ${\mathcal L} \colon F[w] \rightarrow F[w]$ where $F$ is the ring of symmetric functions and $w$ is a variable. In this paper, we (1) establish a cyclic decomposition $F[w] \cong \bigoplus_λ Z(j_λ, {\mathcal L})$ into finite-dimensional ${\mathcal L}$-cyclic subspaces in which Jack polynomials $j_λ$ may be taken as cyclic vectors and (2) prove that the restriction of ${\mathcal L}$ to each $Z(j_λ, {\mathcal L})$ has simple spectrum given by the anisotropic contents $[s]$ of the addable corners $s$ of the Young diagram of $λ$. Our proofs of (1) and (2) rely on the commutativity and spectral theorem for the integrable hierarchy associated to ${\mathcal L}$, both established by Nazarov-Sklyanin. Finally, we conjecture that the ${\mathcal L}$-eigenfunctions $ψ_λ^s {\in F[w]}$ {with eigenvalue $[s]$ and constant term} $ψ_λ^s|_{w=0} = j_λ$ are polynomials in the rescaled power sum basis $V_μ w^l$ of $F[w]$ with integer coefficients.
