A Newton Identity and Finite-Rank Reconstruction for the Queer Lie Superalgebra
We establish a Newton-type identity for the queer Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak q_N$, relating Sergeev's odd cyclic central elements to Nazarov's one-row Capelli elements. The identity is obtained by comparing Ivanov's generating function for factorial Schur $Q$-functions with the queer Perelomov-Popov product of Grigoryev and Nazarov. Its coefficient expansion yields a triangular change of generators between the odd cyclic and odd one-row families. In particular, the odd one-row Capelli elements generate the center, while the even one-row elements are redundant. In fixed rank, we derive determinantal relations and a generic reconstruction theorem. The basic cyclic Hankel determinant is identified with a resultant and factored into the failure-of-strong-typicality and shifted-resonance factors. After localization at this determinant, the center is generated by the first $2N$ odd cyclic elements; consequently, generic central characters are determined by their values on these elements.
Measures and generalizations of dual Littlewood identities

We introduce three families of vectors $|\underlineλ^{so}\rangle$, $|\underlineλ^{sp}\rangle$ and $|\underlineλ^{o}\rangle$ parametrized by partitions in the Fock space by using products of adjoint vertex operators. We show that the quotient space of the dual vacuum vector is spanned by the partition vectors indexed by a special family of partitions. The partition-indexed vectors also help us to derive the dual Littlewood identities of types B, C, and D in a new manner associated to the special family of partitions. As an application, we obtain a new free fermionic construction to show that the measures related to dual Littlewood identities introduced by Rains \cite[Section 7]{Rai2000} and Betea \cite[Section 3]{Be2020} are determinantal with repect to some explicit correlation kernels. Furthermore we establish a number of generalized Littlewood identities summed over certain restricted partitions by computing the inner products with elements indexed by one-column partitions {or generalized partitions $(0^m)$} in the complete dual Fock space. {In particular, for each positive integer $n$, we obtain generalized Littlewood identities for $(-n)$-asymmetric partitions. We show that these generalized Littlewood identities contain several well-known Littlewood-type identities as special cases. Consequently we also give a new proof of the generalized Littlewood identity \cite[(5.25)]{LSV2008} for Lie superalgebras. } %We also produce infinite generalized Littlewood identities by calculating the inner products between these elements and some elements indexed by one-column partitions in the complete dual Fock space.

FFLV bases for covariant representations of $\mathfrak{gl}(m|n)$
We study the PBW filtration on covariant representations for the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(m|n)$. We prove for all covariant weights of the form $(λ|μ,0^{n-1})$, that there exists a lattice polytope such that the lattice points of this polytope parametrize a basis of the corresponding associated graded space. As a consequence, we obtain degenerations of partial flag supervarieties for the supergroup $GL(m|n)$ into toric supervarieties.

Euler characters for general linear Lie superalgebra
M. Gorelik and Th. Heidersdors in the papers \cite{GH} investigated Euler characters for Lie superalgebra $\frak{gl}(m,n)$ and $\frak{osp}(m.2n)$. In the present paper we also investigate Euler characters for Lie superalgebra $\frak{gl}(m,n)$ but we use a different approach and our results are formulated in different terms.

Super-immanants and Littlewood correspondences
In this paper, we introduce the notion of super-immanants for supermatrices over a supercommutative algebra. Using the super Schur-Weyl duality we show that the super immanants play a significant role in covariant tensor representations of the general linear Lie superalgebra. Among various things, we obtain a supertrace formula for super-immanants, which generalizes Kostant's trace formula to the super setting. Furthermore, we show that the Littlewood correspondences between super-immanants and supersymmetric polynomials establish an isomorphism between their corresponding algebras.

Catalan numbers and a conjecture on the maximum composition length of a Kac module
Let $f:\mathbb{Z}\longrightarrow \{ \times \cdot\}$ be a function such that $f(a) = \cdot$ for all except finitely for many $a \in \mathbb{Z}$. We define a set $\flat f$ of non-intersecting arc (or cap) diagrams satisfying certain conditions determined by $f$. Then we give a recursive method for enumeration of $\flat f$ which recalls the Fundamental Recurrence for Catalan numbers. The motivation comes from the problem of enumeration of the composition factors of a Kac module with maximum degree of atypicality for the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{gl}(r|r)$. In particular we prove a conjecture that the maximum number of composition factors is a Catalan number.

Indefinite theta functions arising from affine Lie superalgebras and sums of triangular numbers
We extend the recently developed theory of Roehrig and Zwegers on indefinite theta functions to prove certain power series are modular forms. As a consequence, we obtain several power series identities for powers of the generating function of triangular numbers. We also show that these identities arise as specializations of denominator identities of affine Lie superalgebras.

Marked multi-colorings, partially commutative Lie superalgebras and right-angled Coxeter groups
Infinite-dimensional Lie superalgebras, particularly Borcherds-Kac-Moody (BKM) superalgebras, play a fundamental role in mathematical physics, number theory, and representation theory. In this paper, we study the root multiplicities of BKM superalgebras via their denominator identities, deriving explicit combinatorial formulas in terms of graph invariants associated with marked (quasi) Dynkin diagrams. We introduce partially commutative Lie superalgebras (PCLSAs) and provide a direct combinatorial proof of their denominator identity, where the generating set runs over the super heaps monoid. A key notation in our approach is marked multi-colorings and their associated polynomials, which generalize chromatic polynomials and offer a method for computing root multiplicities. As applications, we characterize the roots of PCLSAs and establish connections between their universal enveloping algebras and right-angled Coxeter groups, leading to explicit formulas for their Hilbert series. These results further deepen the interplay between Lie superalgebras, graph theory, and algebraic combinatorics.

Odd Verma's Theorem
We formulate several basic properties of Verma supermodules over regular symmetrizable Kac--Moody Lie superalgebras, exhibiting $\mathfrak{gl}(1|1)$-nature as revealed through changing Borel subalgebras. We investigate variants of Verma modules obtained by changing Borel subalgebras, which enable us to realize the principal block of $\mathfrak{gl}(1|1)$ as an extension-closed abelian subcategory of category $\mathcal{O}$. This phenomenon is precisely formulated in terms of semibricks. On the other hand, by applying the exchange property of odd reflections, we describe compositions of homomorphisms between Verma modules associated with different Borel subalgebras that share the same character. As an application, we refine existing results on the associated varieties and projective dimensions of Verma modules.

Denominator identity for the affine Lie superalgebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{spo}}(2m,2m+1)$ and indefinite theta functions
In 1994, Kac and Wakimoto found the denominator identity for classical affine Lie superalgebras, generalizing that for affine Lie algebras. As an application, they obtained power series identities for some powers of $\triangle(q)$, where $\triangle(q)$ is the generating function of triangular numbers. In this article, we give a different proof of one of their identities. The main step is to prove that a certain indefinite theta function involving spherical polynomials is a modular form. We use the technique recently developed by Roehrig and Zwegers.

Young diagrams, deformed Calogero-Moser systems and Cayley graphs
Let ${\mathtt{k}}$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero and $n, m$ coprime positive integers. Let ${\stackrel{\rm o}{\mathfrak{g}}}$ be the Lie superalgebra ${\mathfrak{gl}}(n|m)$ with root system $Δ$. Using $Δ$, Sergeev and Veselov, \cite{SV2} introduced an action of the Weyl groupoid ${\mathcal{W}}$, in connection with their study of the the Grothendieck group of finite dimensinonal graded $\mathfrak{g}$-modules. We denote the subgroupoid of ${\mathcal{W}}$ with morphisms corresponding to isotropic roots by $\mathfrak T_{iso}$. Later, \cite{SV101} the same authors defined an action of ${\mathcal{W}}$ on $X={\mathtt{k}}^{n|m}$ such that the invariant algebra ${\mathcal{O}}(X)^{\mathcal{W}}$ is isomorphic to the algebra of quantum integrals for the deformed Calogero-Moser system introduced in \cite{SV1}. This completely integrable system depends on a non-zero parameter $κ$. When $κ=-m/n$ we study a certain infinite $\mathfrak T_{iso}$-orbit {\bf O} for this action. %which appears in \cite{SV101} Equation (14). The Cayley graph for this orbit is isomorphic to the Cayley graphs for two other actions of $\mathfrak T_{iso}$ which were studied in \cite{M23}.

Murnaghan--Nakayama rules for symplectic, orthogonal and orthosymplectic Schur functions
Published in Discrete Mathematics, Volume 349, Issue 2, February 2026, 114741 • Search Publication
We establish new Murnaghan--Nakayama rules for symplectic, orthogonal and orthosymplectic Schur functions. The classical Murnaghan--Nakayama rule expresses the product of a power sum symmetric function with a Schur function as a linear combination of Schur functions. Symplectic and orthogonal Schur functions correspond to characters of irreducible representations of symplectic and orthogonal groups. Orthosymplectic Schur functions arise as characters of orthosymplectic Lie superalgebras and are hybrids of symplectic and ordinary Schur functions. We derive explicit formulas for the product of the relevant power-sum function with each of these functions, which can partly be described combinatorially using border strip manipulations. Our Murnaghan--Nakayama rules each include three distinct terms: a classical term corresponding to the addition of border strips to the relevant Young diagram, a term involving the removal of border strips, and a third term, which we describe both algebraically and combinatorially.

Universal Polynomial $\mathfrak{so}$ Weight System
We introduce a universal weight system (a function on chord diagrams satisfying the $4$-term relation) taking values in the ring of polynomials in infinitely many variables whose particular specializations are weight systems associated with the Lie algebras $\mathfrak{so}(N)$, $\mathfrak{sp}(2M)$, as well as Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{osp}(N|2M)$. We extend this weight system to permutations and provide an efficient recursion for its computation. The construction for this weight system extends a similar construction for the universal polynomial weight system responsible for the Lie algebras $\mathfrak{gl}(N)$ and superalgebras $\mathfrak{gl}(N|M)$ introduced earlier by the second named author.

Super major index and Thrall's problem
Thrall's problem asks for the Schur decomposition of the higher Lie modules $\mathcal{L}_λ$, which are defined using the free Lie algebra and decompose the tensor algebra as a general linear group module. Although special cases have been solved, Thrall's problem remains open in general. We generalize Thrall's problem to the free Lie superalgebra, and prove extensions of three known results in this setting: Brandt's formula, Klyachko's identification of the Schur--Weyl dual of $\mathcal{L}_n$, and Kr{á}skiewicz--Weyman's formula for the Schur decomposition of $\mathcal{L}_n$. The latter involves a new version of the major index on super tableaux, which we show corresponds to a $q,t$-hook formula of Macdonald.

A determinantal formula for orthosymplectic Schur functions
We prove a new determinantal formula for the characters of irreducible representations of orthosymplectic Lie superalgebras analogous to the formula developed by Moens and Jeugt (J. Algebraic Combin., 2003) for general linear Lie superalgebras. Our proof uses the Jacobi--Trudi type formulas for orthosymplectic characters. As a consequence, we show that the odd symplectic characters introduced by Proctor (Invent. Math., 1988) are the same as the orthosymplectic characters with some specialized indeterminates. We also give a generalization of an odd symplectic character identity due to Brent, Krattenthaler and Warnaar (J. Combin. Theory Ser. A, 2016).

The Weyl groupoid in Type A, Young diagrams and Borel subalgebras
Let $\mathtt{k}$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. Let ${\stackrel{\rm o}{\mathfrak{g}}}$ be the Lie superalgebra ${\mathfrak{sl}}(n|m)$ and let $\mathfrak{W}$ be the Weyl groupoid introduced by Sergeev and Veselov using the root system of ${\stackrel{\rm o}{\mathfrak{g}}}$. An important subgroupoid $\mathfrak T_{iso}$ of ${\mathfrak{W}}$ has base $Δ_{iso}$, the set of all the isotropic roots. Motivated by deformed quantum Calogero-Moser problems, the same authors considered an action of $\mathfrak{W}$ on $\mathtt{k}^{n|m}$ depending on a parameter $κ$. %When $κ$ is negative special, they showed this action has infinite orbits. In the case $m>n$, with $m,n $ relatively prime and $κ=-n/m$ we study a particular infinite orbit of $\mathfrak T_{iso}$ with some special properties. This orbit, thought of as a directed graph is isomorphic to the graph of an orbit for the action of $\mathfrak T_{iso}$ on certain Borel subalgebras of the affinization ${\widehat{L}(\stackrel{\rm _o}{\mathfrak{g}})}$ of ${\stackrel{\rm o}{\mathfrak{g}}}$. %The root groupoid has a base consisting of Borel subalgebras with fixed even part, and morphisms are given by odd reflections. The underlying reason for this graph isomorphism is that both have combinatorics which can be described using Young diagrams and tableaux drawn on the surface of a rotating cylinder with circumference $n$ and length $m$. Allowing the cylinder to rotate produces an infinite orbit. This leads to a third graph which is isomorphic to the other two.

Generalized root systems
We generalize the notion of a root system by relaxing the conditions that ensure that it is invariant under reflections and study the resulting structures, which we call generalized root systems (GRSs for short). Since both Kostant root systems and root systems of Lie superalgebras are examples of GRSs, studying GRSs provides a uniform axiomatic approach to studying both of them. GRSs inherit many of the properties of root systems. In particular, every GRS defines a crystallographic hyperplane arrangement. We believe that GRSs provide an intrinsic counterpart to finite Weyl groupoids and crystallographic hyperplane arrangements, extending the relationship between finite Weyl groupoids and crystallographic hyperplane arrangements established by Cuntz. An important difference between GRSs and root systems is that GRSs may lack a (large enough) Weyl group. In order to compensate for this, we introduce the notion of a virtual reflection, building on a construction of Penkov and Serganova in the context of root systems of Lie superalgebras. The most significant new feature of GRSs is that, along with subsystems, one can define quotient GRSs. Both Kostant root systems and root systems of Lie superalgebras are equivalent to quotients of root systems and all root systems are isomorphic to quotients of simply-laced root systems. We classify all rank 2 GRSs and show that they are equivalent to quotients of root systems. Finally, we discuss in detail quotients of root systems. In particular we provide all isomorphisms and equivalences among them. Our results on quotient of root systems provide a different point of view on flag manifolds, reproving results of Alekseevsky and Graev.

The refined solution to the Capelli eigenvalue problem for $\mathfrak{gl}(m|n)\oplus\mathfrak{gl}(m|n)$ and $\mathfrak{gl}(m|2n)$
Published in Indagationes Mathematicae, 2024 (special issue in memory of Gerrit van Dijk) • View PublicationBIB
Let $\mathfrak g$ be either the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(V)\oplus\mathfrak{gl}(V)$ where $V:=\mathbb C^{m|n}$ or the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(V)$ where $V:=\mathbb C^{m|2n}$. Furthermore, let $W$ be the $\mathfrak g$-module defined by $W:=V\otimes V^*$ in the former case and $W:=\mathcal S^2(V)$ in the latter case. Associated to $(\mathfrak g,W)$ there exists a distinguished basis of Capelli operators $\left\{D^λ\right\}_{λ\inΩ}$, naturally indexed by a set of hook partitions $Ω$, for the subalgebra of $\mathfrak g$-invariants in the superalgebra $\mathcal{PD}(W)$ of superdifferential operators on $W$. Let $\mathfrak b$ be a Borel subalgebra of $\mathfrak g$. We compute eigenvalues of the $D^λ$ on the irreducible $\mathfrak g$-submodules of $\mathcal{P}(W)$ and obtain them explicitly as the evaluation of the interpolation super Jack polynomials of Sergeev--Veselov at suitable affine functions of the $\mathfrak b$-highest weight. While the former case is straightforward, the latter is significantly more complex. This generalizes a result by Sahi, Salmasian and Serganova for these cases, where such formulas were given for a fixed choice of Borel subalgebra.

Crystals for shifted key polynomials
Published in Algebras and Representation Theory 28 (2025), 921-979 • View PublicationBIB
This article continues our study of $P$- and $Q$-key polynomials, which are (non-symmetric) "partial" Schur $P$- and $Q$-functions as well as "shifted" versions of key polynomials. Our main results provide a crystal interpretation of $P$- and $Q$-key polynomials, namely, as the characters of certain connected subcrystals of normal crystals associated to the queer Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{q}_n$. In the $P$-key case, the ambient normal crystals are the $\mathfrak{q}_n$-crystals studied by Grantcharov et al., while in the $Q$-key case, these are replaced by the extended $\mathfrak{q}_n$-crystals recently introduced by the first author and Tong. Using these constructions, we propose a crystal-theoretic lift of several conjectures about the decomposition of involution Schubert polynomials into $P$- and $Q$-key polynomials. We verify these generalized conjectures in a few special cases. Along the way, we establish some miscellaneous results about normal $\mathfrak{q}_n$-crystals and Demazure $\mathfrak{gl}_n$-crystals.
