Quantum Super Littlewood Correspondences
In this paper, we study the Littlewood theory associated with the quantum super immanants and supersymmetric polynomials, including both the super case and the quantum generalization. In the setting of quantum super Schur-Weyl duality between the quantum superalgebra $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n})$ and the Iwahori-Hecke algebra $\mathcal{H}_r$ of type A, we explicitly construct basis vectors of the $(U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}), \mathcal{H}_r)$-bimodule on the tensor product space $(\mathbb{C}^{m|n})^{\otimes r}$. Using this construction, we interpret the quantum super immanants via weight spaces of covariant tensor representations of $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n})$.

Dynkin diagrams, generalized Nahm sums and 2d CFTs
A folklore conjecture states that the Nahm sum associated with a pair of Dynkin diagrams of type $ADET$ is a modular function. In this paper, we extend this conjecture to Dynkin diagrams of type $ABCDEFGT$ in the context of generalized Nahm sums. The modular Nahm sums are closely related to the characters of 2d rational conformal field theories. In this work, we identify many specific generalized Nahm sums with characters of some well-studied 2d CFTs. For example, we find that the generalized Nahm sums associated with $(T_1, C_r)$ and $(T_1,D_r)$ correspond to the supersymmetric Virasoro minimal models $\mathrm{SM}(4r+6, 4)$ and $\mathrm{SM}(8r+4, 2)$, respectively.

Critical dimensions and small cycle dominance from all-orders asymptotics of $d$-matrix theory
Supersymmetric sectors of $\mathcal{N}=4$ super-Yang-Mills theory motivate the study of the partition function for the counting of gauge-invariant functions of $d=2,3$ matrices transforming under the adjoint action of $U(N)$. The partition function $ \mathcal{Z}_d ( x) $ in the large $N$ limit has a known Hagedorn phase transition at $ x = d^{-1} $ which provides a simple model for the phase structure of the thermal partition function of SYM. We study the all-orders asymptotic expansion of $ \mathcal{Z}_d(x)$ based on a geometric picture of concentric circles of poles in the complex plane accumulating in a natural boundary at $|x| =1$. We find that the order by order structure has a precise combinatorial interpretation organized in terms of increasing cycle size of permutations arising in the enumeration of the invariants. We refer to this organization as small-cycle dominance, and find that it extends to refined versions of the partition functions depending on several complex variables. An analysis of the coefficients in the asymptotic expansion of $ \mathcal{Z}_d(x) $ using the modular property of the Dedekind eta function reveals that the asymptotic expansion is actually convergent for $d\ge d_{ \rm crit } = 13$. A fermionic version of $\mathcal{Z}_d (x)$ has an analogous critical dimension of $ d_{ \rm crit} = 7$. This distinction indicates that the partition functions of the matrix models can be completely reconstructed from their high-energy (UV) limit for $d\ge d_{ \rm crit}$ whereas additional input is required to reconstruct the exact coefficients of the low-energy (IR) expansion for $2\le d \le d_{ \rm crit } -1 $.

Super-immanants and Littlewood correspondences
In this paper, we introduce the notion of super-immanants for supermatrices over a supercommutative algebra. Using the super Schur-Weyl duality we show that the super immanants play a significant role in covariant tensor representations of the general linear Lie superalgebra. Among various things, we obtain a supertrace formula for super-immanants, which generalizes Kostant's trace formula to the super setting. Furthermore, we show that the Littlewood correspondences between super-immanants and supersymmetric polynomials establish an isomorphism between their corresponding algebras.

The ABCT Variety $V(3,n)$ is a Positive Geometry
The ABCT variety $V(3,n)$ is the image closure of the rational Veronese map from the Grassmannian $\operatorname{Gr}(2,n)$ to the Grassmannian $\operatorname{Gr}(3,n)$. It was studied by Arkani-Hamed--Bourjaily--Cachazo--Trnka in the context of tree-level scattering amplitudes arising in planar $\mathcal N=4$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory and Witten's twistor string theory. From this perspective, $V(3,n)$ is conjectured to be a positive geometry by Lam. In this paper, we study the combinatorial and algebraic geometry aspects of $V(3,n)$ and its subvarieties induced by iteratively taking analytic boundaries of the totally nonnegative part. We interpret these subvarieties as point configurations on $\mathbb{P}^2$ by the Gelfand-MacPherson correspondence. We construct a top-degree meromorphic form on $V(3,n)$ and show that it is a positive geometry, proving Lam's conjecture.

Proofs of some conjectures of Okazaki and Smith on line defect half-indices of ${\rm SU}(N)$ Chern-Simons theories
Okazaki and Smith discovered many elegant formulas expressing some matrix integrals as some celebrated $q$-series such as the Rogers--Ramanujan functions or Jacobi theta functions. These integrals arise as Wilson line defect half-indices of 3d $\mathcal{N}=2$ supersymmetric ${\rm SU}(N)$ Chern-Simons theories. We evaluate them by carefully calculating the constant terms of some infinite products. Along the way we use some crucial facts about antisymmetric multivariate formal Laurent series. Consequently, we prove three general conjectures of Okazaki and Smith which provide explicit formulas for half indices of the ${\rm SU}(N)_{-N-k}$ ($k=0,1/2,1$) Chern-Simons theories. During the process, we extend these ${\rm SU}(N)$ formulas to include one additional parameter. Furthermore, we generalize the ${\rm SU}(N)_{-N-1/2}$ and ${\rm SU}(N)_{-N-1}$ conjectures by calculating the corresponding half-indices of Wilson lines of arbitrary charge. As a special instance of our generalizations, we also confirm the ${\rm SU}(3)_{-4}$ conjecture of Okazaki and Smith.

Flagged Hamel--Goulden formulas
We obtain Hamel--Goulden-type ribbon decomposition determinantal formulas for flagged supersymmetric Schur functions. As an application, we derive corresponding new determinantal formulas dual refined canonical stable Grothendieck polynomials. These results generalize and produce a number of new determinantal formulas for these symmetric functions including Jacobi--Trudi and skew Giambelli-type determinants.

Supersymmetric Schur polynomials have saturated Newton polytopes
We prove that every supersymmetric Schur polynomial has a saturated Newton polytope (SNP). Our approach begins with a tableau-theoretic description of the support, which we encode as a polyhedron with a totally unimodular constraint matrix. The integrality of this polyhedron follows from the Hoffman-Kruskal criterion, thereby establishing the SNP property.

Supersymmetry Breaking in Graph Quantum Mechanics
In this paper, we develop the groundwork for a graph theoretic toy model of supersymmetric quantum mechanics. Using discrete Witten-Morse theory, we demonstrate that finite graphs have a natural supersymmetric structure and use this structure to incorporate supersymmetry into an existing model of graph quantum mechanics. We prove that although key characteristics of continuum supersymmetric systems are preserved on finite unweighted graphs, supersymmetry cannot be spontaneously broken. Finally, we prove new results about the behavior of supersymmetric graph quantum systems under edge rewiring.

Ordinarization numbers of numerical semigroups
There has been significant recent interest in studying how the number of numerical semigroups of genus $g$ behaves as a function of $g$. Bras-Amorós has shown how to organize the collection of numerical semigroups of genus $g$ into a rooted tree called the ordinarization tree. The ordinarization number of a numerical semigroup $S$ is the length of the path from $S$ back to the root of the tree. We study the problem of counting numerical semigroups of genus $g$ with a fixed ordinarization number $r$. We show how this can be interpreted as a counting problem about integer points in a certain rational polyhedral cone and use ideas from Ehrhart theory to study this problem. We give a formula for the number of numerical semigroups of genus $g$ and ordinarization number $2$, building on the corresponding result of Bras-Amorós for ordinarization number $1$. We show that the ordinarization number of a numerical semigroup generated by two elements is equal to the number of integer points in a certain right triangle with rational vertices. We consider the analogous problem for supersymmetric numerical semigroups with more generators. We also study ordinarization numbers of numerical semigroups generated by an interval.

On the Boson-Fermion Correspondence for Factorial Schur Functions
We give an algebraic (non-analytic) proof of the deformed boson-fermion Fock space construction of Molev's double supersymmetric Schur functions, among other results, from our previous paper. In other words, we make no assumptions on the variables and parameters. By specializing to a finite number of variables and shifting parameters, we recover the factorial Schur functions. Furthermore, we realize the bosonic construction through a representation of a completion of the infinite rank general linear Lie algebra.

Crystals and Double Quiver Algebras from Jeffrey-Kirwan Residues
Published in SciPost Phys. 18, 143 (2025) • View PublicationBIB
We construct statistical mechanical models of crystal melting describing the flavoured Witten indices of $\mathcal{N}\ge 2$ supersymmetric quiver gauge theories. Our results can be derived from the Jeffrey-Kirwan (JK) residue formulas, and generalize the previous results for quivers corresponding to toric Calabi-Yau threefolds and fourfolds to a large class of quivers satisfying the no-overlap condition, including those corresponding to some non-toric Calabi-Yau manifolds. We construct new quiver algebras which we call the double quiver Yangians/algebras, as well as their representations in terms of the aforementioned crystals. For theories with four supercharges, we compare the double quiver algebras with the existing quiver Yangians/BPS algebras, which we show can also be constructed from the JK residues. For theories with two supercharges, the double quiver algebras provide an algebraic description of the BPS states, including the information of the fixed points and their relative coefficients in the full partition functions.

Vershik-Kerov in higher times
Several generalizations of Vershik-Kerov limit shape problem are motivated by topological string theory and supersymmetric gauge theory instanton count. In this paper specifically we study the circular and linear quiver theories. We also briefly discuss the double-elliptic generalization of the Vershik-Kerov problem, related to six dimensional gauge theory compactified on a torus, and to elliptic cohomology of the Hilbert scheme of points on a plane. We prove that the limit shape in that setting is governed by a genus two algebraic curve, suggesting unexpected dualities between the enumerative and equivariant parameters.

Chern-Simons theories with defects, Rogers-Ramanujan type functions and eta-products
We study the line defect half-indices of 3d $\mathcal{N}=2$ supersymmetric Chern-Simons (CS) theories with (special)unitary, symplectic, orthogonal and exceptional gauge groups. We find that they have several beautiful infinite product $q$-series expressions in terms of Ramanujan's general theta function. For the theories with fundamental chiral multiplets, the pairs of the Neumann half-indices and one-point functions of the fundamental Wilson lines form a basis for the line defect indices in terms of the Rogers-Ramanujan type functions. Furthermore, the theories with an adjoint chiral admit the expressions as the eta-products. In particular, for the $SU(N)_{-2N}$ CS theory, there is a one-to-one correspondence between the BPS boundary local operators and the $N$-core partitions.

Supersymmetric polynomials and algebro-combinatorial duality
Published in SciPost Phys. 17, 119 (2024) • View PublicationBIB
In this note we develop a systematic combinatorial definition for constructed earlier supersymmetric polynomial families. These polynomial families generalize canonical Schur, Jack and Macdonald families so that the new polynomials depend on odd Grassmann variables as well. Members of these families are labeled by respective modifications of Young diagrams. We show that the super-Macdonald polynomials form a representation of a super-algebra analog $\mathsf{T}(\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_{1|1})$ of Ding-Ioahara-Miki (quantum toroidal) algebra, emerging as a BPS algebra of D-branes on a conifold. A supersymmetric modification for Young tableaux and Kostka numbers are also discussed.
Whittaker vectors at finite energy scale, topological recursion and Hurwitz numbers
Published in Journal de l'École polytechnique -- Mathématiques, Volume 12 (2025), pp. 1503-1564 • View PublicationBIB
We upgrade the results of Borot--Bouchard--Chidambaram--Creutzig to show that the Gaiotto vector in $4d$ $\mathcal{N} = 2$ pure supersymmetric gauge theory admits an analytic continuation with respect to the energy scale (which can therefore be taken to be finite, instead of infinitesimal), and is computed by topological recursion on the (ramified) half Seiberg--Witten spectral curve. This has a number of interesting consequences for the Gaiotto vector: relations to intersection theory on $\overline{\mathcal{M}}_{g,n}$ in at least two different ways, Hurwitz numbers, quantum curves, and (almost complete) description of the correlators as analytic functions of $\hslash$ (instead of formal series). The same method is used to establish analogous results for the more general Whittaker vector constructed in the recent work of Chidambaram--Doł{ę}ga--Osuga.

Elliptic analogue of Vershik-Kerov limit shape
We review the limit shape problem for the Plancherel measure and its generalizations found in supersymmetric gauge theory instanton count. We focus on the measure, interpolating between the Plancherel measure and uniform measure, a U(1) case of N=2* gauge theory. We give the formula for its limit shape in terms of elliptic functions, generalizing the trigonometric ``arcsin'' law of Vershik-Kerov and Logan-Schepp.

Line defect half-indices of $SU(N)$ Chern-Simons theories
Published in JHEP06(2024)006 • View PublicationBIB
We study the Wilson line defect half-indices of 3d $\mathcal{N}=2$ supersymmetric $SU(N)$ Chern-Simons theories of level $k\le -N$ with Neumann boundary conditions for the gauge fields, together with 2d Fermi multiplets and fundamental 3d chiral multiplets to cancel the gauge anomaly. We derive some exact results and also make some conjectures based on expansions of the $q$-series. We find several interesting connections with special functions known in the literature, including Rogers-Ramanujan functions for which we conjecture integral representations, and the appearance of Appell-Lerch sums for certain Wilson line half-index grand canonical ensembles which reveal an unexpected appearance of mock modular functions. We also find intriguing $q$-difference equations relating half-indices to Wilson line half-indices. Some of these results also have a description in terms of a dual theory with Dirichlet boundary conditions for the vector multiplet in the dual theory.

The Origin of Calabi-Yau Crystals in BPS States Counting
Published in J. High Energ. Phys. 2024, 140 (2024) • View PublicationBIB
We study the counting problem of BPS D-branes wrapping holomorphic cycles of a general toric Calabi-Yau manifold. We evaluate the Jeffrey-Kirwan residues for the flavoured Witten index for the supersymmetric quiver quantum mechanics on the worldvolume of the D-branes, and find that BPS degeneracies are described by a statistical mechanical model of crystal melting. For Calabi-Yau threefolds, we reproduce the crystal melting models long known in the literature. For Calabi-Yau fourfolds, however, we find that the crystal does not contain the full information for the BPS degeneracy and we need to explicitly evaluate non-trivial weights assigned to the crystal configurations. Our discussions treat Calabi-Yau threefolds and fourfolds on equal footing, and include discussions on elliptic and rational generalizations of the BPS states counting, connections to the mathematical definition of generalized Donaldson-Thomas invariants, examples of wall crossings, and of trialities in quiver gauge theories.
Cusps in $\mathbb{C}^3$ with prescribed ramification
We study value semigroups associated to germs of maps $\mathbb{C} \rightarrow \mathbb{C}^3$ with fixed ramification profiles in a distinguished point. We then apply our analysis to deduce that Severi varieties of unicuspidal rational fixed-degree curves with value semigroup ${\rm S}$ in $\mathbb{P}^3$ are often reducible when ${\rm S}$ is either 1) the semigroup of a generic cusp whose ramification profile is a supersymmetric triple; or 2) a supersymmetric semigroup with ramification profile given by a supersymmetric triple. In doing so, we uncover new connections with additive combinatorics and number theory.
