Applications of Faà di Bruno's formula to partition traces
We revisit several partition-theoretic generating functions, including the theta quotients from Ramanujan's lost notebook, MacMahon's partition functions, and reciprocal sums of parts in partitions, through the lens of the classical Faà di Bruno formula. This approach offers a unified and natural reinterpretation of known results and provides a systematic framework for deriving new identities of a similar type.

Indefinite theta functions arising from affine Lie superalgebras and sums of triangular numbers
We extend the recently developed theory of Roehrig and Zwegers on indefinite theta functions to prove certain power series are modular forms. As a consequence, we obtain several power series identities for powers of the generating function of triangular numbers. We also show that these identities arise as specializations of denominator identities of affine Lie superalgebras.

Denominator identity for the affine Lie superalgebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{spo}}(2m,2m+1)$ and indefinite theta functions
In 1994, Kac and Wakimoto found the denominator identity for classical affine Lie superalgebras, generalizing that for affine Lie algebras. As an application, they obtained power series identities for some powers of $\triangle(q)$, where $\triangle(q)$ is the generating function of triangular numbers. In this article, we give a different proof of one of their identities. The main step is to prove that a certain indefinite theta function involving spherical polynomials is a modular form. We use the technique recently developed by Roehrig and Zwegers.

Quasi-modularity in MacMahon partition variants and prime detection
Building on the results of Craig, van Ittersum, and Ono, we provide a refined understanding of MacMahon's partition functions and their variants, including their quasi-modular properties and new prime-detecting expressions.
Hauptmoduln and even-order mock theta functions modulo 2
The Fourier coefficients $c_1(n)$ of the elliptic modular $j$-function are always even for $n \not\equiv 7 \pmod{8}$. In contrast, for $n \equiv 7 \pmod{8}$, it is conjectured that ``half" of the coefficients take odd values. In this article, we first observe in detail when $c_1(8n-1)$ is odd and show that the coefficients share the same parity as the coefficients $c_{μ_2}(n)$ of the 2nd order mock theta function $μ_2(q)$. Furthermore, we prove that this phenomenon also holds among several hauptmoduln and between hauptmoduln and even-order mock theta functions.
How long can $k$-Göbel sequences remain integers?

Inspired by Episode 3 of the Japanese manga "Seisu-tan" by Doom Kobayashi and Shin-ichiro Seki, we investigate the $k$-Göbel sequence $(g_{k,n})_n$ named after Fritz Göbel. Although the sequence is generally defined as rational, quite a few initial terms behave like an integer sequence. This article addresses a question raised in Seisu-tan and shows that $g_{k,n}$ is always an integer for any $k \geq 2$ and $0 \leq n \leq 18$.

Remarkable relations between the central binomial series, Eulerian polynomials, and poly-Bernoulli numbers
The central binomial series at negative integers are expressed as a linear combination of values of certain two polynomials. We show that one of the polynomials is a special value of the bivariate Eulerian polynomial and the other polynomial is related to the antidiagonal sum of poly-Bernoulli numbers. As an application, we prove Stephan's observation from 2004.
Bijective enumerations for symmetrized poly-Bernoulli polynomials
Published • View PublicationBIB
Recently, Bényi and the second author introduced two combinatorial interpretations for symmetrized poly-Bernoulli polynomials. In the present study, we construct bijections between these combinatorial objects. We also define various combinatorial polynomials and prove that all of these polynomials coincide with symmetrized poly-Bernoulli polynomials.

Combinatorial aspects of poly-Bernoulli polynomials and poly-Euler numbers
In this article, we introduce combinatorial models for poly-Bernoulli polynomials and poly-Euler numbers of both kinds. As their applications, we provide combinatorial proofs of some identities involving poly-Bernoulli polynomials.

On the combinatorics of symmetrized poly-Bernoulli numbers
In this paper we introduce three combinatorial models for symmetrized poly-Bernoulli numbers. Based on our models we derive generalizations of some identities for poly-Bernoulli numbers. Finally, we set open questions and directions of further studies.

Symmetrized poly-Bernoulli numbers and combinatorics
Poly-Bernoulli numbers are one of generalizations of the classical Bernoulli numbers. Since a negative index poly-Bernoulli number is an integer, it is an interesting problem to study this number from combinatorial viewpoint. In this short article, we give a new combinatorial relation between symmetrized poly-Bernoulli numbers and the Dumont-Foata polynomials.
