Graphs and Generalized Witt identities
This paper is about the determinantal identities associated with the Ihara (Ih) zeta function of a non directed graph and the Bowen-Lanford (BL) zeta function of a directed graph. They will be called the Ih and the BL identities in this paper. We show that the Witt identity (WI) is a special case of the BL identity and inspired by the links the WI has with Lie algebras and combinatorics we investigate similar aspects of the Ih and BL identities. We show that they satisfy generalizations of the Strehl identity and Carlitz, Metropolis-Rota relations and each one of them can be interpreted as the denominator (or generalized Witt) identity of a free Lie superalgebra. Also, they can be associated to a coloring problem. New interpretations of the Ih and BL zeta functions are presented.

Duality on Fock spaces and combinatorial energy functions

We generalize in a combinatorial way the notion of the affine energy function of type $A$ to the case of a more general class of modules over a general linear Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{g}$ based on a Howe duality of type $(\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{gl}_n)$ on various Fock spaces.

A Weyl-Type character formula for PDC modules of gl(m|n)
In 1994, Kac and Wakimoto suggested a generalization of Bernstein and Leites character formula for basic Lie superalgebras, and the natural question was raised: to which simple highest weight modules does it apply? In this paper, we prove a similar formula for a large class of finite-dimensional simple modules over the Lie superalgebra gl(m|n), which we call piecewise disconnected modules, or PDC. The class of PDC modules naturally includes totally connected modules and totally disconnected modules, the two families for which similiar character formulas were proven by Su and Zhang as special cases of their general formula. This paper is part of our program for the pursuit of elegant character formulas for Lie superalgebras.

Kac-Wakimoto character formula for the general linear Lie superalgebra
Published in Algebra Number Theory 9 (2015) 1419-1452 • View PublicationBIB
Character formulas for Lie superalgebras have been shown to have important applications to number theory and combinatorics. We prove the Kac-Wakimoto character formula for the general linear Lie superalgebra gl(m|n). This formula specializes to the well-known Kac-Weyl character formula when the modules are typical and to the Weyl denominator identity when the module is trivial. We also prove a determinantal character formula for KW-modules using the Kac-Wakimoto character formula.
Super tableaux and a branching rule for the general linear Lie superalgebra
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this note, we formulate and prove branching rules of simple polynomial modules for the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(m|n)$. Our branching rules depend on the conjugacy class of the Borel subalgebra. A Gelfand-Tsetlin basis of a polynomial module associated to each Borel subalgebra is obtained in terms of generalized semistandard tableaux.

Diamond cone for $\mathfrak{sl}(m,n)$
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this paper, we first study the shape algebra and the reduced shape algebra for the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{sl}(m,n)$. We define the quasistandard tableaux, their collection is the diamond cone for $\mathfrak{sl}(m,n)$, which is a combinatorial basis for the reduced shape algebra. We realize a bijection between the set of semistandard tableaux with shape $λ$ and the set of quasistandard tableaux with shape $μ\leqλ$, by using the 'super jeu de taquin' on skew semistandard tableaux. This gives the compatibility of the diamond cone with the natural stratification of the reduced shape algebra.

Mixed Schur-Weyl-Sergeev duality for queer Lie superalgebras
Published • View PublicationBIB
We introduce a new family of superalgebras $\overrightarrow{B}_{r,s}$ for $r, s \ge 0$ such that $r+s>0$, which we call the walled Brauer superalgebras, and prove the mixed Scur-Weyl-Sergeev duality for queer Lie superalgebras. More precisely, let $\mathfrak{q}(n)$ be the queer Lie superalgebra, ${\mathbf V} =\mathbb{C}^{n|n}$ the natural representation of $\mathfrak{q}(n)$ and ${\mathbf W}$ the dual of ${\mathbf V}$. We prove that, if $n \ge r+s$, the superalgebra $\overrightarrow{B}_{r,s}$ is isomorphic to the supercentralizer algebra $_{\mathfrak{q}(n)}({\mathbf V}^{\otimes r} \otimes {\mathbf W}^{\otimes s})^{\op}$ of the $\mathfrak{q}(n)$-action on the mixed tensor space ${\mathbf V}^{\otimes r} \otimes {\mathbf W}^{\otimes s}$. As an ingredient for the proof of our main result, we construct a new diagrammatic realization $\overrightarrow{D}_{k}$ of the Sergeev superalgebra $Ser_{k}$. Finally, we give a presentation of $\overrightarrow{B}_{r,s}$ in terms of generators and relations.

Quiver Representations in the Super-Category and Gabriel's Theorem for A(m,n)
Gabriel's Theorem, and the work of Bernstein, Gelfand and Ponomarev established a connection between the theory of quiver representations and the theory of simple Lie algebras. Lie superalgebras have been studied from many perspectives, and many results about Lie algebras have analogues for Lie superalgebras. In this paper, the notion of a super-representation of a quiver is introduced, as well as the notion of reflection functors for odd roots. These ideas are then used to give a categorical construction of the root system A(n,m) by establishing a version of Gabriel's Theorem and modifying the Bernstein, Gelfand, Ponomarev construction to the super-category. This is then used to give a combinatorial construction of the root system A(n,m) where roots correspond to vertices of a canonically defined quiver $\Gammahat$.

Combinatorial bases for covariant representations of the Lie superalgebra gl(m|n)
Published in Bulletin of the Institute of Mathematics, Academia Sinica 6 (2011), 415-462 • Search Publication
Covariant tensor representations of gl(m|n) occur as irreducible components of tensor powers of the natural (m+n)-dimensional representation. We construct a basis of each covariant representation and give explicit formulas for the action of the generators of gl(m|n) in this basis. The basis has the property that the natural Lie subalgebras gl(m) and gl(n) act by the classical Gelfand-Tsetlin formulas. The main role in the construction is played by the fact that the subspace of gl(m)-highest vectors in any finite-dimensional irreducible representation of gl(m|n) carries a structure of an irreducible module over the Yangian Y(gl(n)). One consequence is a new proof of the character formula for the covariant representations first found by Berele and Regev and by Sergeev.

The MacMahon Master Theorem for right quantum superalgebras and higher Sugawara operators for $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}(m|n)$
Published in Moscow Mathematical Journal, 14 (2014), 83-119 • View PublicationBIB
We prove an analogue of the MacMahon Master Theorem for the right quantum superalgebras. In particular, we obtain a new and simple proof of this theorem for the right quantum algebras. In the super case the theorem is then used to construct higher order Sugawara operators for the affine Lie superalgebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}(m|n)$ in an explicit form. The operators are elements of a completed universal enveloping algebra of $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}(m|n)$ at the critical level. They occur as the coefficients in the expansion of a noncommutative Berezinian and as the traces of powers of generator matrices. The same construction yields higher Hamiltonians for the Gaudin model associated with the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(m|n)$. We also use the Sugawara operators to produce algebraically independent generators of the algebra of singular vectors of any generic Verma module at the critical level over the affine Lie superalgebra.

Brundan-Kazhdan-Lusztig and super duality conjectures
Published in Publ. RIMS 44 (2008), 1219--1272. • View PublicationBIB
We formulate a general super duality conjecture on connections between parabolic categories O of modules over Lie superalgebras and Lie algebras of type A, based on a Fock space formalism of their Kazhdan-Lusztig theories which was initiated by Brundan. We show that the Brundan-Kazhdan-Lusztig (BKL) polynomials for Lie superalgebra gl(m|n) in our parabolic setup can be identified with the usual parabolic Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials. We establish some special cases of the BKL conjecture on the parabolic category O of gl(m|n)-modules and additional results which support the BKL conjecture and super duality conjecture.

A combinatorial proof of a Weyl type formula for hook Schur polynomials
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this paper, we present a simple combinatorial proof of a Weyl type formula for hook Schur polynomials, which has been obtained by using a Kostant type cohomology formula for $\frak{gl}_{m|n}$. In general, we can obtain in a combinatorial way a Weyl type formula for various highest weight representations of a Lie superalgebra, which together with a general linear algebra forms a Howe dual pair.

Some remarks on the characters of the general Lie superalgebra
We compute an explicit formula the Hilbert (Poincaré) series for the ring of hook Schur functions and (equivalently) the generating function for partitions which fit in a $(k,l)$-hook.

A straightening algorithm for row-convex tableaux
Published • View PublicationBIB
We produce a new basis for the Schur and Weyl modules associated to a row-convex shape, D. The basis is indexed by new class of "straight" tableaux which we introduce by weakening the usual requirements for standard tableaux. Spanning is proved via a new straightening algorithm for expanding elements of the representation into this basis. For skew shapes, this algorithm specializes to the classical straightening law. The new straight basis is used to produce bases for flagged Schur and Weyl modules, to provide Groebner and sagbi bases for the homogeneous coordinate rings of some configuration varieties and to produce a flagged branching rule for row-convex representations. Systematic use of supersymmetric letterplace techniques enables the representation theoretic results to be applied to representations of the general linear Lie superalgebra as well as to the general linear group.
