Double Rim Hook Cluster Algebras
We describe an infinite family of non-Plücker cluster variables inside the double Bruhat cell cluster algebra defined by Berenstein, Fomin, and Zelevinsky. These cluster variables occur in a family of subalgebras of the double Bruhat cell cluster algebra which we call Double Rim Hook (DRH) cluster algebras. We discover that all of the cluster variables are determinants of matrices of special form. We conjecture that all the cluster variables of the double Bruhat-cell cluster algebra have similar determinant form. We notice the resemblance between our staircase diagram and Auslander-Reiten quivers.
Monodromy in Kazhdan-Lusztig cells in affine type A

We use the affine Robinson-Schensted correspondence to describe the structure of bidirected edges in the Kazhdan-Lusztig cells in affine type A. Equivalently, we give a comprehensive description of the Knuth equivalence classes of affine permutations.

The Berenstein-Kirillov group and cactus groups
Published • View PublicationBIB
Berenstein and Kirillov have studied the action of Bender-Knuth moves on semistandard tableaux. Losev has studied a cactus group action in Kazhdan-Lusztig theory; in type $A$ this action can also be identified in the work of Henriques and Kamnitzer. We establish the relationship between the two actions. We show that the Berenstein-Kirillov group is a quotient of the cactus group. We use this to derive previously unknown relations in the Berenstein-Kirillov group. We also determine precise implications between subsets of relations in the two groups, which yields a presentation for cactus groups in terms of Bender-Knuth generators.

Matrix-Ball Construction of affine Robinson-Schensted correspondence
Published • View PublicationBIB
In his study of Kazhdan-Lusztig cells in affine type $A$, Shi has introduced an affine analog of Robinson-Schensted correspondence. We generalize the Matrix-Ball Construction of Viennot and Fulton to give a more combinatorial realization of Shi's algorithm. As a biproduct, we also give a way to realize the affine correspondence via the usual Robinson-Schensted bumping algorithm. Next, inspired by Lusztig and Xi, we extend the algorithm to a bijection between extended affine symmetric group and triples $(P, Q, ρ)$ where $P$ and $Q$ are tabloids and $ρ$ is a dominant weight. The weights $ρ$ get a natural interpretation in terms of the Affine Matrix-Ball Construction. Finally, we prove that fibers of the inverse map possess a Weyl group symmetry, explaining the dominance condition on weights.

A superdimension formula for gl(m|n) modules
Published • View PublicationBIB
We give a formula for the superdimension of a finite-dimensional simple gl(m|n)-module using the Su-Zhang character formula. As a corollary, we obtain a simple algebraic proof of a conjecture of Kac-Wakimoto for gl(m|n), namely, a simple module has nonzero superdimension if and only if it has maximal degree of atypicality. This conjecture was proven originally by Serganova using the Duflo-Serganova associated variety.

A Weyl-Type character formula for PDC modules of gl(m|n)
In 1994, Kac and Wakimoto suggested a generalization of Bernstein and Leites character formula for basic Lie superalgebras, and the natural question was raised: to which simple highest weight modules does it apply? In this paper, we prove a similar formula for a large class of finite-dimensional simple modules over the Lie superalgebra gl(m|n), which we call piecewise disconnected modules, or PDC. The class of PDC modules naturally includes totally connected modules and totally disconnected modules, the two families for which similiar character formulas were proven by Su and Zhang as special cases of their general formula. This paper is part of our program for the pursuit of elegant character formulas for Lie superalgebras.

Kac-Wakimoto character formula for the general linear Lie superalgebra
Published in Algebra Number Theory 9 (2015) 1419-1452 • View PublicationBIB
Character formulas for Lie superalgebras have been shown to have important applications to number theory and combinatorics. We prove the Kac-Wakimoto character formula for the general linear Lie superalgebra gl(m|n). This formula specializes to the well-known Kac-Weyl character formula when the modules are typical and to the Weyl denominator identity when the module is trivial. We also prove a determinantal character formula for KW-modules using the Kac-Wakimoto character formula.

Type A Molecules are Kazhdan-Lusztig

Let (W, S) be a Coxeter system. A W-graph is an encoding of a representation of the corresponding Iwahori-Hecke algebra. Especially important examples include the W-graph corresponding to the action of the Iwahori-Hecke algebra on the Kazhdan-Lusztig basis, as well as this graph's strongly connected components (cells). In 2008, Stembridge identified some common features of the Kazhdan-Lusztig graphs and gave a combinatorial characterization of all W-graphs that have these features. He conjectured, and checked up to n=9, that all such A_n-cells are Kazhdan-Lusztig cells. The current paper provides a first step toward a potential proof of the conjecture. More concretely, we prove that the connected subgraphs of A_n-cells consisting of simple (i.e. directed both ways) edges are the same as in the Kazhdan-Lusztig cells.

Knight move for chromatic graph cohomology
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this paper we prove the knight move theorem for the chromatic graph cohomologies with rational coefficients introduced by L. Helme-Guizon and Y. Rong. Namely, for a connected graph G with n vertices the only non-trivial cohomology groups $H^{i,n-i}(G)$, $H^{i,n-i-1}(G)$ come in isomorphic pairs: $H^{i,n-i}(G)\cong H^{i+1,n-i-2}(G)$ for i >= 0 if G is non-bipartite, and for i > 0 if G is bipartite. As a corollary, the ranks of the cohomology groups are determined by the chromatic polynomial. At the end, we give an explicit formula for the Poincare polynomial in terms of the chromatic polynomial and a deletion-contraction formula for the Poincare polynomial.

Reduced chromatic graph cohomology
In this paper we give a new characterization of the h-vector of the chromatic polynomial of a graph. We introduce reduced chromatic cohomology of a graph and show that h_i are its Betti numbers. We then discuss various combinatorial properties of these cohomologies. In particular we prove that these cohomologies depend only on the matroid type of the graph and describe their relationship to the regular chromatic cohomologies.
