For each graph, we construct a bigraded chain complex whose graded
Euler characteristic is a version of the Tutte polynomial. This work is motivated by earlier work of Khovanov, Helme-Guizon and Rong, and others.
Knight move for chromatic graph cohomology

In this paper we prove the knight move theorem for the chromatic graph cohomologies with rational coefficients introduced by L. Helme-Guizon and Y. Rong. Namely, for a connected graph G with n vertices the only non-trivial cohomology groups $H^{i,n-i}(G)$, $H^{i,n-i-1}(G)$ come in isomorphic pairs: $H^{i,n-i}(G)\cong H^{i+1,n-i-2}(G)$ for i >= 0 if G is non-bipartite, and for i > 0 if G is bipartite. As a corollary, the ranks of the cohomology groups are determined by the chromatic polynomial. At the end, we give an explicit formula for the Poincare polynomial in terms of the chromatic polynomial and a deletion-contraction formula for the Poincare polynomial.
Torsion in Graph Homology

Khovanov homology for knots has generated a flurry of activity in the topology community. This paper studies the Khovanov type cohomology for graphs with a special attention to torsions. When the underlying algebra is $\mathbb{Z}[x]/(x^2)$, we determine precisely those graphs whose cohomology contains torsion. For a larger class of algebras, we show that torsion often occurs. Our investigation of torsion led to other related general results. The ideas of this paper could potentially be used to predict the Khovanov-Rozansky $sl(m)$ homology of knots (in particular $(2,n)$ torus knots). We also predict that our work is connected with Hochschild and Connes cyclic homology of algebras.
Graph Cohomologies from Arbitrary Algebras
For each commutative, graded algebra with finite dimension in each degree, we construct a graded cohomology theory for graphs whose graded Euler characteristic is the chromatic polynomial of the graph. This extends our previous work which was based on the algebra $\mathbb {Z}[x]/(x^2)$.

For each graph we construct graded cohomology groups whose graded Euler characteristic is the chromatic polynomial of the graph. We show the cohomology groups satisfy a long exact sequence which corresponds to the well-known deletion-contraction rule. This work is motivated by Khovanov's work on categorification of the Jones polynomial of knots.
