Minimum distance and decoding of Coxeter codes
A binary Coxeter code associated with a finite Coxeter system $(W,S)$ is an ${\mathbb F}_2$-linear span of indicators of standard cosets of a fixed rank. Coxeter codes, introduced in a recent paper by N. Coble and A. Barg, are a generalization of Reed--Muller codes which arise when $W={\mathbb Z}_2^m$ is the Coxeter group of type $mA_1$. In that paper, the authors proposed a conjectural value for the minimum distance of a general Coxeter code. This conjecture is proved in the present work. As a consequence, we obtain a Coxeter-theoretic generalization of Reed's majority-logic decoding algorithm for Reed--Muller codes.
A Bollobás-type problem: from root systems to Erdős-Ko-Rado
Motivated by an Erdős--Ko--Rado type problem on sets of strongly orthogonal roots in the $A_{\ell}$ root system, we estimate bounds for the size of a family of pairs $(A_{i}, B_{i})$ of $k$-subsets in $\{ 1, 2, \ldots, n\}$ such that $A_{i} \cap B_{j}= \emptyset$ and $|A_{i} \cap A_{j}| + |B_{i} \cap B_{j}| = k$ for all $i \neq j$. This is reminiscent of a classic problem of Bollobás. We provide upper and lower bounds for this problem, relying on classical results of extremal combinatorics and an explicit construction using the incidence matrix of a finite projective plane.
Normality and quadraticity for special ample line bundles on toric varieties arising from root systems

We prove that special ample line bundles on toric varieties arising from root systems are projectively normal. Here the maximal cones of the fans correspond to the Weyl chambers, and special means that the bundle is torus-equivariant such that the character of the line bundle that corresponds to a maximal Weyl chamber is dominant with respect to that chamber. Moreover, we prove that the associated semigroup rings are quadratic.
Looping of the numbers game and the alcoved hypercube

We study in detail the so-called looping case of Mozes's game of numbers, which concerns the (finite) orbits in the reflection representation of affine Weyl groups situated on the boundary of the Tits cone. We give a simple proof that all configurations in the orbit are obtainable from each other by playing the numbers game, and give a strategy for going from one configuration to another. The strategy gives rise to a partition of the finite Weyl group into finitely many graded posets, one for each extending vertex of the associated extended Dynkin diagram. These are selfdual and mutually isomorphic, and dual to the triangulation of the unit hypercube by reflecting hyperplanes, studied by many authors. Unlike the weak and Bruhat orders, the top degree is cubic in the number of vertices of the graph. We explicitly compute the Hilbert polynomial of the poset.

Fix a Dynkin diagram and let p be a coweight. When does there exist an element w of the corresponding Weyl group such that w is p-minuscule and w(p) is dominant? We answer this question for general Coxeter groups. We express and prove these results using a variant of Mozes's game of numbers.
