Bilinear generating functions of the multivariable Al-Salam-Carlitz polynomials and applications
In this paper, by the method of comparing coefficients, we establish a new generating function of multivariable Al-Salam-Carlitz polynomials which contains both Rogers' and Bowman's symmetirc expansion formulas and the classical $q$-Mehler formula as special cases. Some new $q$-series identities related to the multivariable Al-Salam-Carlitz polynomials are also presented.

Some new results on Andrews' and Warnaar's q-identities
In this paper, by the technique of inverse relations and comparing coefficients, we establish some generalized forms of Andrews' q-series identity and two new Bailey pairs and q-identities closely related to Andrews-Warnaar's sum identity for partial theta functions.

Matroidal Entropy Functions: Constructions, Characterizations and Representations
Published • View PublicationBIB
Matroidal entropy functions are entropy functions in the form $\mathbf{h} = \log v \cdot \mathbf{r}_M$ , where $v \ge 2$ is an integer and $\mathbf{r}_M$ is the rank function of a matroid $M$. They can be applied into capacity characterization and code construction of information theory problems such as network coding, secret sharing, index coding and locally repairable code. In this paper, by constructing the variable strength arrays of some matroid operations, we characterized matroidal entropy functions induced by regular matroids and some matroids with the same p-characteristic set as uniform matroid $U_{2,4}$.

Entropy Functions on Two-Dimensional Faces of Polymatroidal Region of Degree Four: Part I: Problem Formulation and More
Characterization of entropy functions is of fundamental importance in information theory. By imposing constraints on their Shannon outer bound, i.e., the polymatroidal region, one obtains the faces of the region and entropy functions on them with special structures. In this series of two papers, we characterize entropy functions on the 2-dimensional faces of the polymatroidal region of degree 4. In Part I, we formulate the problem, enumerate all 59 types of 2-dimensional faces of the region by an algorithm, and fully characterize entropy functions on 49 types of them. Among them, those non-trivial cases are mainly characterized by the graph-coloring technique. The entropy functions on the remaining 10 types of faces will be characterized in Part II, among which 8 types are fully characterized, and 2 types are partially characterized.

Dual forms of the orthogonality relations of some classical q-orthogonal polynomials
In this paper, by introducing new matrix operations and using a specific inverse relation, we establish the dual forms of the orthogonality relations for some well-known discrete and continuous $q$-orthogonal polynomials from the Askey-scheme such as the little and big $q$-Jacobi, $q$-Racah, (generalized) $q$-Laguerre, as well as the Askey-Wilson polynomials. As one of the most interesting results, we show that the Askey-Wilson $q$-beta integral represented in terms of the VWP-balanced $\,_8φ_7$ series is just a dual form of the orthogonality relation of the Askey-Wilson polynomials.

The Gram matrix of a Temperley-Lieb algebra is similar to the matrix of chromatic joins
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this paper we show that the matrix of chromatic joins and the Gram matrix of the Temperley-Lieb algebra are similar (after rescaling), with the change of basis given by diagonal matrices.
