Bilinear generating functions of the multivariable Al-Salam-Carlitz polynomials and applications
In this paper, by the method of comparing coefficients, we establish a new generating function of multivariable Al-Salam-Carlitz polynomials which contains both Rogers' and Bowman's symmetirc expansion formulas and the classical $q$-Mehler formula as special cases. Some new $q$-series identities related to the multivariable Al-Salam-Carlitz polynomials are also presented.

Two new Bailey pairs and their $q$-identities of Rogers-Ramanujan type modulo 15, 24, and 30
In this paper, we first establish two new Bailey pairs via finding two generalizations of Euler's pentagonal number theorem. Next, we specificize the Bailey lemmas with these two Bailey pairs. As applications, we finally establish some $q$-series transformations and $q$-identities of Rogers-Ramanujan type modulo 15, 24, and 30.

A general $q$-series transformation and its applications to multi-sum Rogers-Ramanujan-Slater identities
In the present paper, we establish a general transformation for $q$-series which contains L. Wang et al's transformation involved in Nahm series. As direct applications, some concrete new transformation formulas for the ${}_{r+1}φ_r$ series as well as $q$-identities of multi-sum Rogers-Ramanujan-Slater type are presented.

Three new $q$-Abel transformations and their applications
In the present paper, we establish three special $q$-Abel transformation formulae of $q$-series via the use of Abel's lemma on summation by parts. As direct applications, we set up the corresponding $q$-contiguous relations for three kinds of truncated $q$-series. Several new transformations are consequently established.

Some q-Identities derived by the ordinary derivative operator
In this paper, we investigate applications of the ordinary derivative operator, instead of the $q$-derivative operator, to the theory of $q$-series. As main results, many new summation and transformation formulas are established which are closely related to some well-known formulas such as the $q$-binomial theorem, Ramanujan's ${}_1ψ_1$ formula, the quintuple product identity, Gasper's $q$-Clausen product formula, and Rogers' ${}_6φ_5$ formula, etc. Among these results is a finite form of the Rogers-Ramanujan identity and a short way to Eisenstein's theorem on Lambert series.

Dual forms of the orthogonality relations of some classical q-orthogonal polynomials
In this paper, by introducing new matrix operations and using a specific inverse relation, we establish the dual forms of the orthogonality relations for some well-known discrete and continuous $q$-orthogonal polynomials from the Askey-scheme such as the little and big $q$-Jacobi, $q$-Racah, (generalized) $q$-Laguerre, as well as the Askey-Wilson polynomials. As one of the most interesting results, we show that the Askey-Wilson $q$-beta integral represented in terms of the VWP-balanced $\,_8φ_7$ series is just a dual form of the orthogonality relation of the Askey-Wilson polynomials.

A new recurrence relation for the truncated very-well-poised $_6ψ_6$ series and Bailey's summation formula
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this paper we introduce the so-called truncated very-well-poised $_6ψ_6$ series and set up an explicit recurrence relation for it by means of the classical Abel lemma on summation by parts. This new recurrence relation implies an elementary proof of Bailey's well-known $_6ψ_6$ summation formula.

Some nonlinear inverse relations of Bell polynomials via the Lagrange inversion formula
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this paper, by means of the classical Lagrange inversion formula, we establish a general nonlinear inverse relations which is a partial solution to the problem proposed in the paper [J. Wang, Nonlinear inverse relations for the Bell polynomials via the Lagrange inversion formula, J. Integer Seq., Vol. 22 (2019), Article 19.3.8. (https://cs.uwaterloo.ca/journals/JIS/VOL22/Wang/wang53.pdf). As applications of this inverse relation, we not only find a short proof of another nonlinear inverse relation due to Birmajer et al., but also set up a few convolution identities concerning the Mina polynomials.

Further study on elliptic interpolation formulas for the elliptic Askey-Wilson polynomials and allied identities
In this paper, we introduce the so-called elliptic Askey-Wilson polynomials which are homogeneous polynomials in two special theta functions. With regard to the significance of polynomials of such kind, we establish some general elliptic interpolation formulas by the methods of matrix inversions and of polynomial representations. Furthermore, we find that the basis of elliptic interpolation space due to Schlosser can be uniquely characterized via the elliptic Askey-Wilson polynomials. As applications of these elliptic interpolation formulas, we establish some new elliptic function identities, including an extension of Weierstrass' theta identity, a generalized elliptic Karlsson-Minton type identity, and an elliptic analogue of Gasper's summation formula for very-well-poised ${}_{6+2m}φ_{5+2m}$ series.

Two new transformation formulas for ${}_{8}ψ_{8}$ and ${}_{8}W_{7}$ series associated with Weierstrass' theta identity
In this paper, we establish two new transformation formulas for ${}_{8}ψ_{8}$ and ${}_8φ_7$ series by means of Slater's general transformation for bilateral series. As applications, some specific transformation formulas are presented among which include a general form of Weierstrass' theta identity and new proofs of Bailey's VWP ${}_6ψ_6$ and Jackson's ${}_8φ_7$ summation formula.

Further results on Andrews--Yee's two identities for mock theta functions $ω(z;q)$ and $v(z;q)$
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this paper, by the method of comparing coefficients and the inverse technique, we establish the corresponding variate forms of two identities of Andrews and Yee for mock theta functions, as well as a few allied but unusual $q$-series identities. Among includes a new Bailey pair from which a product formula of two ${}_2φ_1$ series is derived. Further, we focus on two finite $q$-series summations arising from Andrews and Yee's mock theta function identities and expound some recurrence relations and transformation formulas behind them.

On Andrews--Warnaar's identities of partial theta functions
Published • View PublicationBIB
In this paper we set up a bivariate representation of partial theta functions which not only unifies some famous identities for partial theta functions due to Andrews and Warnaar, et al. but also unveils a new characteristic of such identities. As further applications, we establish a general form of Warnaar's identity and a general $q$--series transformation associated with Bailey pairs via the use of the power series expansion of partial theta functions.

Proof of the $(α,β)$--inversion formula conjectured by Hsu and Ma
In light of the well-known fact that the $n$th divided difference of any polynomial of degree $m$ must be zero while $m<n$,the present paper proves the $(α,β)$-inversion formula conjectured by Hsu and Ma [J. Math. Res. $\&$ Exposition 25(4) (2005) 624]. As applications of $(α,β)$-inversion, we not only recover some known matrix inversions due to Gasper, Schlosser, and Warnaar, but also fin three new matrix inversions related to elliptic divisibility sequence and theta functions.

Expansion Formulas of Basic Hypergeometric Series via the (1-xy,y-x)--Inversion and Its Applications
With the use of the $(f,g)$-matrix inversion under specializations that $f=1-xy,g=y-x$, we establish an $(1-xy,y-x)$-expansion formula. When specialized to basic hypergeometric series, this $(1-xy,y-x)$-expansion formula leads us to some expansion formulas expressing any ${}_{r}φ_{s}$ series in variable $x~t$ in terms of a linear combination of ${}_{r+2}φ_{s+1}$ series in $t$, as well as various specifications. All these results can be regarded as common generalizations of many konwn expansion formulas in the setting of $q$-series. As specific applications, some new transformation formulas of $q$-series including new approach to the Askey-Wilson polynomials, the Rogers-Fine identity, Andrews' four-parametric reciprocity theorem and Ramanujan's ${}_1ψ_1$ summation formula, as well as a transformation for certain well-poised Bailey pairs, are presented.

Generalized Ismail's argument and $(f,g)$-expansion formula
As further development of earlier works on the $(f,g)$-inversion, the present paper is devoted to the $(f,g)$-difference operator and the representation problem or an expansion formula of analytic functions. A recursive formula and the Leibniz formula for the $(f,g)$-difference operator of the product of two functions are established. The resulting expansion formula not only unifies the $q$-analogue of the Lagrange inversion formula of Gessel and Stanton (thus, a $q$-expansion formula of Liu) for $q$-series but also systematizes the "Ismail's argument". In the meantime, a rigorous analytic proof of the $(1-xy,x-y)$-expansion formula with respect to geometric series, along with a proof of the previously unknown fact that it is equivalent to a $q$-analogue of the Lagrange inversion formula due to Gessel and Stanton, is presented. As applications, new proofs of several well-known summation and transformation formulas are investigated.

The $(f,g)$-inversion formula and its applications: the $(f,g)$-summation formula
A complete characterization of two functions $f(x,y)$ and $g(x,y)$ in the $(f,g)$-inversion is presented. As an application to the theory of hypergeometric series, a general bibasic summation formula determined by $f(x,y)$ and $g(x,y)$ as well as four arbitrary sequences is obtained which unifies Gasper and Rahman's, Chu's and Macdonald's bibasic summation formula. Furthermore, an alternative proof of the $(f,g)$-inversion derived from the $(f,g)$-summation formula is presented. A bilateral $(f,g)$-inversion containing Schlosser's bilateral matrix inversion as a special case is also obtained.
