On the properties of alternating invariant functions
Functions satisfying the functional equation \begin{align*} \sum_{r=0}^{n-1} (-1)^r f(x+ry, ny) = f(x,y), \quad \text{for any positive odd integer $n$}, \end{align*} are named the alternating invariant functions. Examples of such functions include Euler polynomials, alternating Hurwitz zeta functions and their associated Gamma functions. In this paper, we systematically investigate the fundamental properties of alternating invariant functions. We prove that the set of such functions is closed under translation, reflection, and differentiation. In addition, we define a convolution operation on alternating invariant functions and derive explicit convolution formulas for Euler polynomials and alternating Hurwitz zeta functions, respectively. Furthermore, using distributional relations, we construct new examples of alternating invariant functions, including suitable combinations of trigonometric, exponential, and logarithmic functions, among others.
Identities for the Euler polynomials, $p$-adic integrals and Witt's formula
By using Cauchy's formula, it is known that Bernoulli numbers and Euler numbers can be represented by the contour integrals \begin{equation*} \begin{aligned} B_n&=\frac{n!}{2πi}\oint \frac{z}{e^z-1}\frac{d z}{z^{n+1}},\label{condefi}\\[4pt] E_n&=\frac{n!}{2πi}\oint \frac{2e^z}{e^{2z}+1}\frac{d z}{z^{n+1}}, \end{aligned} \end{equation*} while the following Witt's formula represents Euler polynomials through the fermionic $p$-adic integrals
$$E_n(a)=\int_{\mathbb Z_p}(x+a)^ndμ_{-1}(x).$$
Base on the above Witt's identity and the binomial theorem, we prove some new identities for the Euler polynomials briefly. In particular, some symmetry properties of Euler polynomials have been discovered, which implies many interesting identities (known or unknown), including the Kaneko-Momiyama type identities (shown by Wu, Sun, and Pan) and the Alzer-Kwong type identity for Euler polynomials.

In this note, we give explicit expressions of Gauss sums for general (resp. special) linear groups over finite fields, which involves Gauss sums (resp. Kloosterman sums). The key ingredient is averaging such sums over Borel subgroups. As applications, we count the number of invertible matrices of zero-trace over finite fields and we also improve two bounds by Ferguson, Hoffman, Luca, Ostafe and Shparlinski in [ Some additive combinatorics problems in matrix rings, Rev. Mat. Complut. (23) 2010, 501--513 ].

We show that a classical uniformly distributed phenomenon for an element and its inverse in ($\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z})^{*}$ also exists in $\textrm{GL}_{n}(\mathbb{F}_{p})$. A $\textrm{GL}_{n}(\mathbb{F}_{p})$ analogy of the uniform distribution on modular hyperbolas has also been considered.
