$m$-sectorial discrete Laplacians and recurrence of complex-weighted graphs
We consider complex-weighted graphs, whose edge weights belong to a sector in the complex plane. We show that the corresponding Dirichlet Laplacian is $m$-sectorial, and, hence, generates a contractive holomorphic $C_0$-semigroup. Further, it is shown that every sectorial complex-weighted graph can be extended to an electrical network, where by electrical networks we mean graphs, whose edge weights are holomorphic functions, arising from physical admittances. This result allows us to establish convergence results for the infinite complex-weighted graphs, e.g. convergence of solutions of Dirichlet problems and convergence of complex-valued capacities on a finite exhaustion. Finally, we define a recurrence for complex-weighted graphs, and, using the convergence results, give its characterizations in terms of functional spaces, capacity, Green's function, resolvents of the Dirichlet Laplacian and properties of the Neumann Laplacian.
Log-Sobolev under random monotone censoring
We show that the logarithmic Sobolev inequality of the Boolean cube is stable under random monotone censoring. More precisely, if $A_n\subseteq \{0,1\}^n$ is chosen uniformly among all monotone subsets, then the logarithmic Sobolev constant of the censored walk on $A_n$ is of order $n$ with high probability. As a consequence, several analytic and probabilistic properties of the Boolean cube persist for a typical monotone subset: the censored semigroup is hypercontractive, the uniform measure on $A_n$ satisfies Gaussian concentration for Lipschitz observables, and the associated walk mixes in time $O(n\log n)$. The latter proves a conjectured mixing bound of Ding and Mossel for almost all monotone sets. The result is genuinely typical rather than universal. We construct monotone sets of density bounded away from zero whose logarithmic Sobolev constant is of order $n^2$. To prove the result, we establish a sharp logarithmic Sobolev inequality for Hamming caps and combine it with a harmonic extension argument transferring this inequality to monotone sets lying between nearby caps, together with a structural theorem of Korshunov on random monotone sets.

On the Failure of the Upper Bound in the Refined BMV Conjecture and a Pinching Correction
We analyze why the refined Bessis--Moussa--Villani conjecture fails. The refined conjecture proposed that the normalized trace average over all words with prescribed numbers of letters \(A\) and \(B\) should be bounded above by the clustered word \(\Tr(A^nB^m)\). Recent counterexamples of Cha show that this upper bound is false already for \(3\times3\) positive semidefinite matrices when \(n=m=5\). We explain the failure from the viewpoint of commutative common parts. The term \(\Tr(A^nB^m)\) is not the canonical common part of the pair \((A,B)\); it is only one clustered word. After pinching \(B\) relative to \(A\), the natural commuting contribution is \(\A_{n,m}(A,\EA(B))\). The off-diagonal complement \(B-\EA(B)\) creates spectral bridges, and mixed words can distribute the powers of \(A\) along closed cycles more efficiently than the clustered word. This gives a mechanism for finding counterexamples. Motivated by this mechanism, we propose a corrected pinching refinement \[ \A_{n,m}(A,B)\ge \A_{n,m}(A,\EA(B)). \] We prove this corrected conjecture in the case of two letters \(B\), obtaining a sandwich refinement \[ \A_{n,2}(A,\EA(B)) \le \A_{n,2}(A,B) \le \Tr(A^nB^2). \] Thus, even where the old clustered upper bound remains true, the pinching viewpoint gives a sharper structural decomposition.
Geometric duality, perfect graphs, and the Sierpiński space
In their classical paper \emph{On the stopping time Banach space}, Bang and Odell, among a plethora of results concerning the dyadic stopping time space and its dual, presented the first non-trivial example of the \emph{duality phenomenon} between combinatorial Banach spaces. We give a full characterization of such pairs $(\mc{F}_0, \mc{F}_1)$ of families of finite sets: This duality holds iff there is a perfect graph $G$ on $\NN$ such that $\mc{F}_0$ consists of all finite cliques of $G$ and $\mc{F}_1$ consists of all finite anti-cliques of $G$. As it turns out, Lovász' famous perfect graph theorem is an immediate corollary of this result. Among the many examples of such pairs of families, we investigate a particularly interesting one, when $G$ is the Sierpiński graph, and study general methods of embedding combinatorial and classical sequence spaces in the generated space, including the Schreier and $\ell_p$ spaces.

A generalized infinite quantum Ramsey theorem for operator systems
We prove a generalization of the infinite quantum Ramsey theorem of Kennedy et al. (arXiv:1711.09526), showing that it follows from an archetypical "selective" pattern satisfied by certain families of projections in an infinite-dimensional Hilbert space.

Graphs at infinity: Liouville theorems, Recurrence and Characterization of Dirichlet forms
We survey recent results on graphs and their Laplacians related to the behavior of the graph at large. In particular, we focus on Liouville theorems, recurrence and characterizations of Dirichlet forms via boundary terms.

Eigenvalue collision and exotic preservers on semisimple operators
We classify $n\times n$-matrix-valued continuous commutativity and spectrum preservers defined on spaces of (a) normal, (b) semisimple and (c) arbitrary $n\times n$ matrices with spectra contained in sufficiently connected subsets $\mathcal{X}\subseteq \mathbb{C}$, generalizing a number of results due to Šemrl, Gogić, Tomašević and the author among others. In case (a) these are always conjugations or transpose conjugations, while in cases (b) and (c) qualitatively distinct possibilities arise depending on the local regularity of the complex-conjugation map close to coincident-eigenvalue loci of $\mathcal{X}^n$.

Toeplitz matrices from permutation displacements and the triangular kernel
Toeplitz matrices arise naturally in harmonic analysis, operator theory, and numerical analysis. In this note we investigate Toeplitz matrices whose coefficients depend on the matrix size through a scaled kernel $a_k=f(k/n)$. We show that the empirical mean of their eigenvalues converges to a weighted integral of $f$, where the weight $1-|x|$ reflects the density of diagonals in Toeplitz matrices. We then introduce a combinatorial construction associating a Toeplitz matrix to a permutation via its displacement counts. For a uniformly random permutation, the expected matrix converges to the Toeplitz matrix generated by the triangular kernel $1-|x|$. Interestingly, the triangular kernel also appears as the covariance function of the integrated Brownian motion, providing a probabilistic interpretation of the same operator. Finally, we analyze the integral operator with kernel $(1-|x-y|)$ on $[0,1]$ and determine its eigenfunctions and eigenvalues explicitly. This operator describes the limiting spectral structure associated with the averaged Toeplitz matrices arising from permutation displacements. These results highlight a natural bridge between Toeplitz matrix theory, permutation statistics, and classical integral operators.

Distribution for nonsymmetric V-monotone position operators
We investigate the vacuum distribution of a family of partial sums of nonsymmetric position operators, depending on a real parameter $λ$, and acting on the discrete Fock space in the framework of V-monotone independence. We analyze the combinatorics of the moments of this distribution, and using its Cauchy--Stieltjes transform, we determine its exact form, consisting of a unique atom and an absolutely continuous part. Finally, we present computer-generated graphs that illustrate the distribution for several values of the intensity parameter $λ$.
Symbols frequencies in the Thue--Morse word in base $3/2$ and related conjectures
We study a binary Thue--Morse-type sequence arising from the base-$3/2$ expansion of integers, an archetypal automatic sequence in a rational base numeration system. Because the sequence is generated by a periodic iteration of morphisms rather than a single primitive substitution, classical Perron--Frobenius methods do not directly apply to determine symbol frequencies. We prove that both symbols ${\tt 0},{\tt 1}$ occur with frequency $1/2$ and we show uniform recurrence and symmetry properties of its set of factors. The proof reveals a structural bridge between combinatorics on words and harmonic analysis: the first difference sequence is shown to be Toeplitz, providing dynamical rigidity, while filtered frequencies naturally encode a dyadic structure that lifts to the compact group of $2$-adic integers. In this $2$-adic setting, desubstitution becomes a linear operator on Fourier coefficients, and a spectral contraction argument enforces uniqueness of limiting densities. Our results answer several conjectures of Dekking (on a sibling sequence) and illustrate how harmonic analysis on compact groups can be fruitfully combined with substitution dynamics.
