Divisible Arm Lengths, Crystal Reflections, and Enumeration of Newly Found Decomposition Columns
In recent work the authors determine complete columns of symmetric-group decomposition matrices in odd prime characteristic $p$ labeled by $p$-regular partitions for which every hook of length divisible by $p$ has even arm length. In the present paper we enumerate these partitions and prove that each block of $p$-weight $w$ contains precisely \[ \binom{w+\frac{p-3}{2}}{w} \] such partitions.
More generally, for any integers $d,e>1$, we study and enumerate $d$-balanced $e$-regular partitions -- partitions for which every hook of length divisible by $e$ has arm length divisible by $d$. Our first main result is that the crystal (affine) reflections preserve the $d$-balanced property for all $d,e > 1$. It follows that, for fixed $d$, $e$, and $w$, the number of $d$-balanced $e$-regular partitions in a block of $e$-weight $w$ is independent of the $e$-core. We then compute this number by working in RoCK blocks, obtaining an explicit binomial formula valid for every block.
We also investigate closely related odd sequences of partitions. Among others, we find the generating function of the number of odd sequences occurring in a block. Alongside their representation-theoretic relevance, we expect these results to be of independent combinatorial interest.
An action of the cactus group of shifted tableau crystals

Recently, Gillespie, Levinson and Purbhoo introduced a crystal-like structure for shifted tableaux, called the shifted tableau crystal. We introduce, on this structure, a shifted version of the crystal reflection operators, which coincide with the restrictions of the shifted Schützenberger involution to any primed interval of two adjacent letters. Unlike type $A$ Young tableau crystals, these operators do not realize an action of the symmetric group on the shifted tableau crystal since the braid relations do not need to hold. Following a similar approach as Halacheva, we exhibit a natural internal action of the cactus group on this crystal, realized by the restrictions of the shifted Schützenberger involution to all primed intervals of the underlying crystal alphabet, containing, in particular, the aforesaid action of the shifted crystal reflection operator analogues.

Noncommutative LR coefficients and crystal reflection operators
We relate noncommutative Littlewood-Richardson coefficients of Bessenrodt-Luoto-van Willigenburg to classical Littlewood-Richardson coefficients via crystal reflection operators. A key role is played by the combinatorics of frank words.
Plactic monoids: a braided approach

Young tableaux carry an associative product, described by the Schensted algorithm. They thus form a monoid $\mathbf{Pl}$, called \emph{plactic}. It is central in numerous combinatorial and algebraic applications. In this paper, the tableaux product is shown to be completely determined by a braiding $σ$ on the (much simpler!) set of columns $\mathbf{Col}$. Here a \emph{braiding} is a set-theoretic solution to the Yang--Baxter equation. As an application, we identify the Hochschild cohomology of $\mathbf{Pl}$, which resists classical approaches, with the more accessible braided cohomology of $(\mathbf{Col},σ)$. The cohomological dimension of $\mathbf{Pl}$ is obtained as a corollary. Also, the braiding~$σ$ is proved to commute with the classical crystal reflection operators~$s\_i$.
