A Conjecture on Zero-sum 3-magic Labeling of 5-regular Graphs
In this paper, we obtained that every 5-regular graph admits a zero-sum 3-magic labeling, which give an affirmative answer to a conjecture proposed by Saieed Akbari, Farhad Rahmati and Sanaz Zare in $Electron.$ $J.$ $Combin.$.
The typical structure of graphs with no large cliques

In 1987, Kolaitis, Prömel and Rothschild proved that, for every fixed $r \in \mathbb{N}$, almost every $n$-vertex $K_{r+1}$-free graph is $r$-partite. In this paper we extend this result to all functions $r = r(n)$ with $r \leqslant (\log n)^{1/4}$. The proof combines a new (close to sharp) supersaturation version of the Erdős-Simonovits stability theorem, the hypergraph container method, and a counting technique developed by Balogh, Bollobás and Simonovits.
Minimally unbalanced diamond-free graphs and Dyck-paths

A $\{0,1\}$-matrix $\mathsf{A}$ is balanced if it does not contain a submatrix of odd order having exactly two 1's per row and per column. A graph is balanced if its clique-matrix is balanced. No characterization of minimally unbalanced graphs is known, and even no conjecture on the structure of such graphs has been posed, contrarily to what happened for perfect graphs. In this paper, we provide such a characterization for the class of diamond-free graphs and establish a connection between minimally unbalanced diamond-free graphs and Dyck-paths.

We classify the countable homogeneous coloured multipartite graphs with any finite number of parts. By Fraisse's Theorem this amounts to classifying the families F of pairwise non-embeddable finite coloured multipartite graphs for which the class Forb(F) of multipartite graphs which forbid these is an amalgamation class. We show that once we understand such families F in the quadripartite case, things do not become any more complicated for larger numbers of parts.
The regularity method for graphs and digraphs
This MSci thesis surveys results in extremal graph theory, in particular relating to Hamilton cycles. Szeméredi's Regularity Lemma plays a central role. We also investigate the robust outexpansion property for digraphs. Kelly showed that every sufficiently large oriented graph on $n$ vertices with minimum in- and outdegree at least $3n/8 +o(n)$ contains any orientation of a Hamilton cycle. We use Kelly's arguments to extend his result to any robustly expanding digraph of linear degree.

We derive an optimal eigenvalue ratio estimate for finite weighted graphs satisfying the curvature-dimension inequality $CD(0,\infty)$. This estimate is independent of the size of the graph and provides a general method to obtain higher order spectral estimates. The operation of taking Cartesian products is shown to be an efficient way for constructing new weighted graphs satisfying $CD(0,\infty)$. We also discuss a higher order Cheeger constant ratio estimate and related topics about expanders.

In this article we prove that every toric ideal associated with a gap-free graph $G$ has a squarefree lexicographic initial ideal. Moreover, in the particular case when the complementary graph of $G$ is chordal (i.e. when the edge ideal of $G$ has a linear resolution), we show that there exists a reduced Gröbner basis $\mathcal{G}$ of the toric ideal of $G$ such that all the monomials in the support of $\mathcal{G}$ are squarefree. Finally, we show (using work by Herzog and Hibi) that if $I$ is a monomial ideal generated in degree 2, then $I$ has a linear resolution if and only if all powers of $I$ have linear quotients, thus extending a result by Herzog, Hibi and Zheng.

Ramanujan graphs have extremal spectral properties, which imply a remarkable combinatorial behavior. In this paper we compute the high dimensional Hodge-Laplace spectrum of Ramanujan triangle complexes, and show that it implies a combinatorial expansion property, and a pseudo-randomness result. For this purpose we prove a Cheeger-type inequality and a mixing lemma of independent interest.
Diameter critical graphs

A graph is called diameter-$k$-critical if its diameter is $k$, and the removal of any edge strictly increases the diameter. In this paper, we prove several results related to a conjecture often attributed to Murty and Simon, regarding the maximum number of edges that any diameter-$k$-critical graph can have. In particular, we disprove a longstanding conjecture of Caccetta and Häggkvist (that in every diameter-2-critical graph, the average edge-degree is at most the number of vertices), which promised to completely solve the extremal problem for diameter-2-critical graphs.
On the other hand, we prove that the same claim holds for all higher diameters, and is asymptotically tight, resolving the average edge-degree question in all cases except diameter-2. We also apply our techniques to prove several bounds for the original extremal question, including the correct asymptotic bound for diameter-$k$-critical graphs, and an upper bound of $(\frac{1}{6} + o(1))n^2$ for the number of edges in a diameter-3-critical graph.
Total Irregularity and $f_t$-Irregularity of Linear Jaco Graphs$
Total irregularity of a simple undirected graph $G$ is defined to be $irr_t(G) = \frac{1}{2}\sum\limits_{u, v \in V(G)}|d(u) - d(v)|$. See Abdo and Dimitrov [2]. We allocate the \emph{Fibonacci weight,} $f_i$ to a vertex $v_j$ of a simple connected graph, if and only if $d(v_j) = i$ and define the \emph{total fibonaccian irregularity} or $f_t-irregularity$ denoted $firr_t(G)$ for brevity, as: $firr_t(G) = \sum\limits_{i=1}^{n-1}\sum\limits_{j=i+1}^{n}|f_i - f_j|.$ The concept of an \emph{edge-joint} is also introduced to be the simple undirected graph obtained from two simple undirected graphs $G$ and $H$ by linking the edge $vu_{v \in V(G), u \in V(H)}$. This paper presents results for the undirected underlying graphs of Jaco Graphs, $J_n(x)$. Finally we pose an open problem with regards to $firr_t^\pm(G).$
Minimal Obstructions for Partial Representations of Interval Graphs

Interval graphs are intersection graphs of closed intervals. A generalization of recognition called partial representation extension was introduced recently. The input gives an interval graph with a partial representation specifying some pre-drawn intervals. We ask whether the remaining intervals can be added to create an extending representation. Two linear-time algorithms are known for solving this problem.
In this paper, we characterize the minimal obstructions which make partial representations non-extendible. This generalizes Lekkerkerker and Boland's characterization of the minimal forbidden induced subgraphs of interval graphs. Each minimal obstruction consists of a forbidden induced subgraph together with at most four pre-drawn intervals. A Helly-type result follows: A partial representation is extendible if and only if every quadruple of pre-drawn intervals is extendible by itself. Our characterization leads to a linear-time certifying algorithm for partial representation extension.
Bounding Clique-Width via Perfect Graphs

Given two graphs $H_1$ and $H_2$, a graph $G$ is $(H_1,H_2)$-free if it contains no subgraph isomorphic to $H_1$ or $H_2$. We continue a recent study into the clique-width of $(H_1,H_2)$-free graphs and present three new classes of $(H_1,H_2)$-free graphs of bounded clique-width and one of unbounded clique-width. The four new graph classes have in common that one of their two forbidden induced subgraphs is the diamond (the graph obtained from a clique on four vertices by deleting one edge). To prove boundedness of clique-width for the first three cases we develop a technique based on bounding clique covering number in combination with reduction to subclasses of perfect graphs. We extend our proof of unboundedness for the fourth case to show that Graph Isomorphism is Graph Isomorphism-complete on the same graph class. We also show the implications of our results for the computational complexity of the Colouring problem restricted to $(H_1,H_2)$-free graphs.

Denote by $\mathcal{H}_k (n,p)$ the random $k$-graph in which each $k$-subset of $\{1... n\}$ is present with probability $p$, independent of other choices. More or less answering a question of Balogh, Bohman and Mubayi, we show: there is a fixed $\varepsilon >0$ such that if $n=2k+1$ and $p> 1-\varepsilon$, then w.h.p. (that is, with probability tending to 1 as $k\rightarrow \infty$), $\mathcal{H}_k (n,p)$ has the "Erdős-Ko-Rado property." We also mention a similar random version of Sperner's Theorem.
The Moser-Tardos Framework with Partial Resampling

The resampling algorithm of Moser \& Tardos is a powerful approach to develop constructive versions of the Lovász Local Lemma (LLL). We generalize this to partial resampling: when a bad event holds, we resample an appropriately-random subset of the variables that define this event, rather than the entire set as in Moser & Tardos. This is particularly useful when the bad events are determined by sums of random variables. This leads to several improved algorithmic applications in scheduling, graph transversals, packet routing etc. For instance, we settle a conjecture of Szabó & Tardos (2006) on graph transversals asymptotically, and obtain improved approximation ratios for a packet routing problem of Leighton, Maggs, & Rao (1994).
A note on the unit distance problem for planar configurations with Q-independent direction set

Let $T(n)$ denote the maximum number of unit distances that a set of $n$ points in the Euclidean plane $\mathbb{R}^2$ can determine with the additional condition that the distinct unit length directions determined by the configuration must be $\mathbb{Q}$-independent. This is related to the Erdos unit distance problem but with a simplifying additional assumption on the direction set which holds "generically".
We show that $T(n+1)-T(n)$ is the Hamming weight of $n$, i.e., the number of nonzero binary coefficients in the binary expansion of $n$, and find a formula for $T(n)$ explicitly. In particular $T(n)$ is $Θ(n log(n))$. Furthermore we describe a process to construct a set of $n$ points in the plane with $\mathbb{Q}$-independent unit length direction set which achieves exactly $T(n)$ unit distances. In the process of doing this, we show $T(n)$ is also the same as the maximum number of edges a subset of vertices of size $n$ determines in either the countably infinite lattice $\mathbb{Z}^{\infty}$ or the infinite hypercube graph $\{0,1\}^{\infty}$.
The problem of determining T(n) can be viewed as either a type of packing or isoperimetric problem.
Triangulated map with minimum degree four is Hamiltonian
A $triangulation$ is an embedding of a graph on surfaces where every face has length three. In this article, we show the existence of contractible Hamiltonian cycle in triangulated maps of which minimum degree is four.

The \textit{Distinguishing Chromatic Number} of a graph $G$, denoted $χ_D(G)$, was first defined in \cite{collins} as the minimum number of colors needed to properly color $G$ such that no non-trivial automorphism $φ$ of the graph $G$ fixes each color class of $G$. In this paper, we consider random Cayley graphs $Γ(A,S)$ defined over certain abelian groups $A$ and show that with probability at least $1-n^{-Ω(\log n)}$ we have, $χ_D(Γ)\leχ(Γ) + 1$.

Let $G$ be a connected claw-free graph on $n$ vertices and $\overline{G}$ be its complement graph. Let $μ(G)$ be the spectral radius of $G$. Denote by $N_{n-3,3}$ the graph consisting of $K_{n-3}$ and three disjoint pendent edges. In this note we prove that: (1) If $μ(G)\geq n-4$, then $G$ is traceable unless $G=N_{n-3,3}$. (2) If $μ(\overline{G})\leq μ(\overline{N_{n-3,3}})$ and $n\geq 24$, then $G$ is traceable unless $G=N_{n-3,3}$. Our works are counterparts on claw-free graphs of previous theorems due to Lu et al., and Fiedler and Nikiforov, respectively.
A note on recognizing an old friend in a new place: list coloring and the zero-temperature Potts model

Here we observe that list coloring in graph theory coincides with the zero-temperature antiferromagnetic Potts model with an external field. We give a list coloring polynomial that equals the partition function in this case. This is analogous to the well-known connection between the chromatic polynomial and the zero-temperature, zero-field, antiferromagnetic Potts model. The subsequent cross fertilization yields immediate results for the Potts model and suggests new research directions in list coloring.

We study the automorphism group of graphons (graph limits). We prove that after an appropriate "standardization" of the graphon, the automorphism group is compact. Furthermore, we characterize the orbits of the automorphism group on $k$-tuples of points. Among applications we study the graph algebras defined by finite rank graphons and the space of node-transitive graphons.
