Exotic series with Bernoulli, harmonic, Catalan, and Stirling numbers
In this paper, we present a formula for generating various exotic series in the spirit of Ovidiu Furdui and Alina Sintamarian. Our new series (evaluated in closed form) involve Bernoulli, harmonic, and Catalan numbers. Also Stirling numbers of the second kind, other special numbers, and exponential polynomials. The results include series identities with Laguerre polynomials and derangement polynomials.

Dirichlet series and series with Stirling numbers
Published • View PublicationBIB
This paper presents a number of identities for Dirichlet series and series with Stirling numbers of the first kind. As coefficients for the Dirichlet series we use Cauchy numbers of the first and second kinds, hyperharmonic numbers, derangement numbers, binomial coefficients, central binomial coefficients, and Catalan numbers.

Convolutions for Stirling numbers, Lah numbers, and binomial coefficients
We present various identities in the form of convolutions involving Stirling numbers of both kinds, Lah numbers, and binomial coefficients. Certain convolution polynomials are discussed also. The proofs are based on several series transformation formulas.

New series with Cauchy and Stirling numbers, Part 2
Published • View PublicationBIB
We evaluate in closed form several series involving products of Cauchy numbers with other special numbers (harmonic, skew-harmonic, hyperharmonic, and central binomial). Similar results are obtained with series involving Stirling numbers of the first kind. We focus on several particular cases which give new closed forms for Euler sums of hyperharmonic numbers and products of hyperharmonic and harmonic numbers.

The formula of Melzak for arbitrary polynomials
Published in Utilitas Mathematica, 99 (2016), 397-401 • Search Publication
We extend the well-known Melzak binomial transform formula to polynomials of any degree and show some applications.

The Euler Series Transformation and the Binomial Identities of Ljunggren, Munarini and Simons
Published in Integers, 10 A22 (2010) 265-271 • View PublicationBIB
It is shown that the curious identity of Simons follows immediately from Euler's series transformation formula and also from an identity due to Ljunggren. The relation of Simons' identity to Legendre's polynomials is also discussed. At the end we use the generalized Euler series transformation to obtain two recent binomial identities of Munarini.

Series Transformation Formulas of Euler Type, Hadamard Product of Functions, and Harmonic Number Identities
Published in Indian J. Pure and Appl. Math., 42 (2011), 371-387 • View PublicationBIB
The integral representation of the Hadamard product of two functions is used to prove several Euler-type series transformation formulas. As applications we obtain three binomial identities involving harmonic numbers and an identity for the Laguerre polynomials. We also evaluate in a closed form certain power series with harmonic numbers

Power sum identities with generalized Stirling numbers
Published in Fibonacci Quarterly, 46/47 (2009), 326-331 • View PublicationBIB
Several combinatorial identities are presented, involving Stirling functions of the second kind with a complex variable. The identities involve also Stirling numbers of the first kind, binomial coefficients and harmonic numbers.

Derivative Polynomials for tanh, tan, sech and sec in Explicit Form
Published in Fibonacci Quarterly, 45.4 (2007), 291-303 • Search Publication
The derivative polynomials for the hyperbolic and trigonometric tangent, cotangent and secant are found in explicit form, where the coefficients are given in terms of Stirling numbers of the second kind. As application, some integrals are evaluated and the reflection formula for the polygamma function is written in explicit form.
