A Two-Variable Zeta Function for a Parity-Perturbed Hofstadter Q-Recursion: The Exceptional t = -1 Slice and Gaussian Boundary Layers
We study the parity-perturbed Hofstadter $Q$-recursion $$ \widetilde Q(1)=\widetilde Q(2)=1,\qquad \widetilde Q(n)=\widetilde Q(n-\widetilde Q(n-1)) +\widetilde Q(n-\widetilde Q(n-2))+(-1)^n, $$ and the associated two-variable Dirichlet series $$ Z_{\widetilde Q}(s,t)=\sum_{n\ge1}n^{-s}\widetilde Q(n)^{-t}. $$ The estimate $\widetilde Q(n)=n/2+O(n/\sqrt{\log n})$ gives the exact domain of absolute convergence $\operatorname{Re}(s+t)>1$. With $w=s+t$, we separate the universal term $2^tζ(w)$ and derive exact transport, frequency-position, and dyadic renormalization identities. The main result concerns $t=-1$. For $E(n)=2\widetilde Q(n)-n$ and $A(X)=\sum_{n\le X}E(n)$, the binary-arch clock yields $$ A(X)=X\log_2X+XΩ\!\left(\log_2\frac{3X}{32}\right) +O\!\left(\frac{X}{\sqrt{\log X}}\right), $$ where $Ω$ is an explicit continuous periodic function. This continues the normalized correction to $\operatorname{Re}w>0$ and yields a boundary resonance lattice: a double resonance at $w=0$ and simple resonances at $2πi m/\log2$. After subtracting the full-slice order-$X$ skeleton, we analyze the negative-even arch channel. Its companion-forest layers have a weak Gaussian limit, and a canonical subsequence realizes the optimal $n/\sqrt{\log n}$ pointwise scale with an explicit signed constant. The negative-arch mass satisfies $$ A_r=\frac{512}{9\sqrt{2π}}\frac{16^r}{\sqrt r} \left(1-\frac{13}{16r}+O(r^{-2})\right). $$ We do not claim a full-slice continuation across $\operatorname{Re}w=0$.

On the analytic continuation of Dirichlet series with missing digits
We study the Dirichlet series associated with the integers whose radix-$b$ representation misses certain (fixed) digits. The existence of a meromorphic continuation to the entire complex plane, which was already well-known as a general fact valid for $b$-automatic Dirichlet series, is proven anew from a representation as an everywhere defined series with good convergence properties. A generating function related to the residues on the real axis is shown to be the multiplicative inverse of the moment generating function for the associated Cantor set in the unit interval. This makes the (normalized) residues some sort of generalized Bernoulli numbers.

Fractal transference principles for subsets of $\mathbb{N}^d$ of positive density
We establish a multidimensional fractal transference principle for digit-restricted sets associated with subsets of $\mathbb{N}^d$, extending the one-dimensional framework of Nakajima--Takahasi, Adv. Math. (2025). We develop general Hausdorff-dimension tools via the singular value potential $φ^s(\mathbf a)$ and the multivariate Dirichlet series $ζ_S(\boldsymbolσ) =\sum_{\mathbf a\in S}\prod_{j=1}^d a_j^{-σ_j}$. Let $s_\ast:=\inf\{s>0:\sum_{\mathbf a\in S}φ^s(\mathbf a)<\infty\}$ and $Λ_S:=\inf\{σ_1+\cdots+σ_d:ζ_S(\boldsymbolσ)<\infty\}$. We obtain $\dim_H(\mathcal E_S)\le s_\ast$, where $\mathcal E_S\subset(0,1)^d$ denotes the set of points whose continued-fraction digit vectors lie in $S$ and whose coordinates escape (i.e.\ $a_n(x_j)\to\infty$ for each $j$), and $s_\ast=\tfrac12Λ_S$ for uniformly $K$--balanced $S$. In particular, if $S\subset\mathbb{N}^d$ has positive upper (or upper Banach) density then $\dim_H(\mathcal E_S)=d/2$. On the combinatorial side, the transference principle ensures that translation-invariant configurations forced at positive density, including multidimensional Szemerédi patterns, persist inside the induced fractal digit sets.

Recurrence and congruences for the smallest part function
Let $\operatorname{spt}(n)$ be the number of smallest parts in the partitions of $n$. In this paper, we give some generalized Euler-like recursive formulas for the $\operatorname{spt}$ function in terms of Hecke trace of values of special twisted quadratic Dirichlet series. As a corollary, we give a closed form expressions of the power series $\sum_{n\geq 0}\operatorname{spt}(\ell n-δ_{\ell})q^n\pmod{\ell}$, $δ_{\ell}:=(\ell^2-1)/24$, by Hecke traces for weight $\ell+1 $ cusp forms on $\operatorname{SL}_2(\mathbb{Z})$. We further establish an incongruence result for the $\operatorname{spt}$ function.

Proof of a conjecture by Starr and log-concavity for random commuting permutations
We prove a conjecture by Shannon Starr regarding the asymptotics for the number of tuples of commuting permutations with given number of joint orbits. These numbers generalize unsigned Stirling numbers of the first kind which count how many single permutations have a given number of cycles. In the case of pairs of permutations, these numbers are related to D'Arcais polynomials and the Nekrasov-Okounkov formula. As a consequence of the above asymptotics, we confirm a log-concavity conjecture in the regime of typical values for the number of joint orbits. As a result of possible indepentent interest in applied mathematics and mathematical physics, we also provide detailed asymptotics, using Mellin transform techniques, for certain multiple series or multivariate Ramanujan sums which are related to ordinary generating functions of Dirichlet convolutions of power laws. Besides these multiple sums asymptotics, our proofs use bivariate saddle point analysis related to the Meinardus theorem in the delicate case of multiple poles for the associated Dirichlet series.

Ramanujan's partition generating functions modulo $\ell$
For the partition function $p(n)$, Ramanujan proved the striking identities $$ P_5(q):=\sum_{n\geq 0} p(5n+4)q^n =5\prod_{n\geq 1} \frac{\left(q^5;q^5\right)_{\infty}^5}{(q;q)_{\infty}^6}, $$ $$ P_7(q):=\sum_{n\geq 0} p(7n+5)q^n =7\prod_{n\geq 1}\frac{\left(q^7;q^7\right)_{\infty}^3}{(q;q)_{\infty}^4}+49q \prod_{n\geq 1}\frac{\left(q^7;q^7\right)_{\infty}^7}{(q;q)_{\infty}^8}, $$ where $(q;q)_{\infty}:=\prod_{n\geq 1}(1-q^n).$ As these identities imply his celebrated congruences modulo 5 and 7, it is natural to seek, for primes $\ell \geq 5,$ closed form expressions of the power series $$ P_{\ell}(q):=\sum_{n\geq 0} p(\ell n-δ_{\ell})q^n\pmod{\ell}, $$ where $δ_{\ell}:=\frac{\ell^2-1}{24}.$ In this paper, we prove that $$ P_{\ell}(q)\equiv c_{\ell} \frac{T_{\ell}(q)}{ (q^\ell; q^\ell )_\infty} \pmod{\ell}, $$ where $c_{\ell}\in \mathbb{Z}$ is explicit and $T_{\ell}(q)$ is the generating function for the Hecke traces of $\ell$-ramified values of special Dirichlet series for weight $\ell-1$ cusp forms on $SL_2(\mathbb{Z})$. This is a new proof of Ramanujan's congruences modulo 5, 7, and 11, as there are no nontrivial cusp forms of weight 4, 6, and 10.

The Schützenberger involution and colored lattice models
Colored lattice models can be used to describe many different types of special functions of interest in both algebraic combinatorics and representation theory, for example Schur polynomials, nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials, and characters and Whittaker functions for representations of p-adic groups. A notable example is the metaplectic ice model of which there are actually two different variants: a Gamma and a Delta variant. These variants differ in key aspects but surprisingly produce equal partition functions, which are weighted sums over admissible configurations, and this equality is called the Gamma-Delta duality. The duality was used to prove the analytic continuation of certain multiple Dirichlet series and is highly non-trivial, especially since the number of configurations on each side of the equality can differ. In this paper we construct a new family of solvable, colored lattice models and prove that they are dual to existing lattice models in the literature, including the above metaplectic case and the lattice model for (non-metaplectic) Iwahori Whittaker functions together with its crystal limit for Demazure atoms for Cartan type A. The equality of partition functions is shown using Yang-Baxter equations involving R-matrices mixing lattice model rows of types Gamma and Delta. For the crystal Demazure lattice model we show that the duality refines to a weight-respecting bijection of states given by the Schützenberger involution on the associated Gelfand-Tsetlin patterns or semistandard Young tableaux. We also show how the individual steps exchanging two rows in the proof of the duality for the partition functions refines to Berenstein-Kirillov, or Bender-Knuth involutions.

On the Asymptotic Density of $k$-tuples of Positive Integers Satisfying Arbitrary GCD Conditions
We consider the problem of counting $k$-tuples of positive integers satisfying any arbitrary set of gcd conditions, where every integer is not larger than $x$. We first establish the conditions to guarantee the existence of such tuples, and then obtain asymptotic formulae for the count of such tuples with the help of a multivariable Dirichlet series. Part of this work can be viewed as a generalization of Tóth's work, where the conditions are pairwise.

Introducing irrational enumeration: analytic combinatorics for objects of irrational size
We extend the scope of analytic combinatorics to classes containing objects that have irrational sizes. The generating function for such a class is a power series that admits irrational exponents (which we call a Ribenboim series). A transformation then yields a generalised Dirichlet series from which the asymptotics of the coefficients can be extracted by singularity analysis using an appropriate Tauberian theorem. In practice, the asymptotics can often be determined directly from the original generating function. We illustrate the technique with a variety of applications, including tilings with tiles of irrational area, ordered integer factorizations, lattice walks enumerated by Euclidean length, and plane trees with vertices of irrational size. We also explore phase transitions in the asymptotics of families of irrational combinatorial classes.

Pentagonal number recurrence relations for $p(n)$
We revisit Euler's partition function recurrence, which asserts, for integers $n\geq 1,$ that $$ p(n)=p(n-1)+p(n-2)-p(n-5)-p(n-7)+\dots = \sum_{k\in \mathbb{Z}\setminus \{0\}} (-1)^{k+1} p(n-ω(k)), $$ where $ω(m):=(3m^2+m)/2$ is the $m$th pentagonal number. We prove that this classical result is the $ν=0$ case of an infinite family of ``pentagonal number'' recurrences. For each $ν\geq 0,$ we prove for positive $n$ that $$ p(n)=\frac{1}{g_ν(n,0)}\left(α_ν\cdot σ_{2ν-1}(n)+ \mathrm{Tr}_{2ν}(n) +\sum_{k\in \mathbb{Z}\setminus \{0\}} (-1)^{k+1} g_ν(n,k)\cdot p(n-ω(k))\right), $$ where $σ_{2ν-1}(n)$ is a divisor function, $\mathrm{Tr}_{2ν}(n)$ is the $n$th weight $2ν$ Hecke trace of values of special twisted quadratic Dirichlet series, and each $g_ν(n,k)$ is a polynomial in $n$ and $k.$ The $ν=6$ case can be viewed as a partition theoretic formula for Ramanujan's tau-function, as we have $$ \mathrm{Tr}_{12}(n)=-\frac{33108590592}{691}\cdot τ(n). $$

Artin Symmetric Functions
In this paper we construct an algebraic invariant attached to Galois representations over number fields. This invariant, which we call an Artin symmetric function, lives in a certain ring we introduce called the ring of arithmetic symmetric functions. This ring is built from a family of symmetric functions rings indexed by prime ideals of the base field. We prove many necessary basic results for the ring of arithmetic symmetric functions as well as introduce the analogues of some standard number-theoretic objects in this setting. We prove that the Artin symmetric functions satisfy the same algebraic properties that the Artin L-functions do with respect to induction, inflation, and direct summation of representations. The expansion coefficients of these symmetric functions in different natural bases are shown to be character values of representations of a compact group related to the original Galois group. In the most interesting case, the expansion coefficients into a specialized Hall-Littlewood basis come from new representations built from the original Galois representation using polynomial functors corresponding to modified Hall-Littlewood polynomials. Using a special case of the Satake isomorphism in type GL, as formulated by Macdonald, we show that the Artin symmetric functions yield families of functions in the (finite) global spherical Hecke algebras in type GL which exhibit natural stability properties. We compute the Mellin transforms of these functions and relate them to infinite products of shifted Artin L-functions. We then prove some analytic properties of these Dirichlet series and give an explicit expansion of these series using the Hall-Littlewood polynomial functors.
Combinatorics on words and generating Dirichlet series of automatic sequences
Generating series are crucial in enumerative combinatorics, analytic combinatorics, and combinatorics on words. Though it might seem at first view that generating Dirichlet series are less used in these fields than ordinary and exponential generating series, there are many notable papers where they play a fundamental role, as can be seen in particular in the work of Flajolet and several of his co-authors. In this paper, we study Dirichlet series of integers with missing digits or blocks of digits in some integer base $b$; i.e., where the summation ranges over the integers whose expansions form some language strictly included in the set of all words over the alphabet $\{0, 1, \dots, b-1\}$ that do not begin with a $0$. We show how to unify and extend results proved by Nathanson in 2021 and by Köhler and Spilker in 2009. En route, we encounter several sequences from Sloane's On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences, as well as some famous $b$-automatic sequences or $b$-regular sequences. We also consider a specific sequence that is not $b$-regular.
Asymptotics for partitions over the Fibonacci numbers and related sequences

In this paper, harkening back to ideas of Hardy and Ramanujan, Mahler and de Bruijn, with the addition of more recent results on the Fibonacci Dirichlet series, we determine the asymptotic number of ways $p_F(n)$ to write an integer as the sum of non-distinct Fibonacci numbers. This appears to be the first such asymptotic result concerning non-distinct partitions over Fibonacci numbers. As well, under weak conditions, we prove analogous results for a general linear recurrences.

Properties of the recursive divisor function and the number of ordered factorizations
We recently introduced the recursive divisor function $κ_x(n)$, a recursive analogue of the usual divisor function. Here we calculate its Dirichlet series, which is ${ζ(s-x)}/(2 - ζ(s))$. We show that $κ_x(n)$ is related to the ordinary divisor function by $κ_x * σ_y = κ_y * σ_x$, where * denotes the Dirichlet convolution. Using this, we derive several identities relating $κ_x$ and some standard arithmetic functions. We also clarify the relation between $κ_0$ and the much-studied number of ordered factorizations $K(n)$, namely, $κ_0 = {\bf 1} * K$.

Composition-theoretic series in partition theory

We use sums over integer compositions analogous to generating functions in partition theory, to express certain partition enumeration functions as sums over compositions into parts that are $k$-gonal numbers; our proofs employ Ramanujan's theta functions. We explore applications to lacunary $q$-series, and to a new class of composition-theoretic Dirichlet series.

The Probabilistic Zeta Function of a Finite Lattice

We study Brown's definition of the probabilistic zeta function of a finite lattice as a generalization of that of a finite group. We propose a natural alternative or extension that may be better suited for non-atomistic lattices. The probabilistic zeta function admits a general Dirichlet series expression, which unlike for groups, need not be ordinary. We compute the function for several examples of finite lattices, establishing a connection with the Stirling numbers of the second kind in the case of the divisibility lattice. Furthermore, in the context of moving from groups to lattices, we are interested in lattices with probabilistic zeta function given by ordinary Dirichlet series. In this regard, we focus on partition lattices and $d$-divisible partition lattices. Using the prime number theorem, we show that the probabilistic zeta functions of the latter typically fail to be ordinary Dirichlet series.

Dirichlet series and series with Stirling numbers

This paper presents a number of identities for Dirichlet series and series with Stirling numbers of the first kind. As coefficients for the Dirichlet series we use Cauchy numbers of the first and second kinds, hyperharmonic numbers, derangement numbers, binomial coefficients, central binomial coefficients, and Catalan numbers.

Zeckendorf expansion, Dirichlet series and infinite series involving the infinite Fibonacci word
Let $β=\frac{1+\sqrt{5}}{2}$, $(a_n)_{n \in \mathbb{N}^+}$ be a non-uniform morphic sequence involving the infinite Fibonacci word and $(δ(n))_{n \in \mathbb{N}^+}$ be a positive sequence such that for all positive integers $n$, $δ(n)=\frac{1}{\sqrt{5}}\sum_{j \geq 0}ε_jβ^{j+2}$ if the unique Zeckendorf expansion of $n$ is $n=\sum_{j \geq 0}ε_jF_{j+2}$ with Fibonacci numbers $F_0,F_1,F_2...$. We define and study some Dirichlet series in the form of $\sum_{n\geq 1}\frac{a_n}{(δ(n))^s}$ and relations between them. Moreover, we compute the values of some infinite series involving the infinite Fibonacci word.

Partition-theoretic formulas for arithmetic densities, II

In earlier work generalizing a 1977 theorem of Alladi, the authors proved a partition-theoretic formula to compute arithmetic densities of certain subsets of the positive integers $\mathbb N$ as limiting values of $q$-series as $q\to ζ$ a root of unity (instead of using the usual Dirichlet series to compute densities), replacing multiplicative structures of $\mathbb N$ by analogous structures in the integer partitions $\mathcal P$. In recent work, Wang obtains a wide generalization of Alladi's original theorem, in which arithmetic densities of subsets of prime numbers are computed as values of Dirichlet series arising from Dirichlet convolutions. Here the authors prove that Wang's extension has a partition-theoretic analogue as well, yielding new $q$-series density formulas for any subset of $\mathbb N$. To do so, we outline a theory of $q$-series density calculations from first principles, based on a statistic we call the "$q$-density" of a given subset. This theory in turn yields infinite families of further formulas for arithmetic densities.
