Explicit constructions for Ramanujan-type congruences
For an integer-valued sequence $\{a(n)\}_{n\geq 0}$ and a prime $\ell$, a Ramanujan-type congruence is a relation of the form $a(\ell n-δ_{\ell})\equiv 0\pmod\ell$, where $δ_{\ell}$ is a specific shift. In this paper, we present explicit constructions of modular forms to establish Ramanujan-type congruences for a broad class of generating functions, including eta-quotients, weakly holomorphic modular forms, and mock modular forms. As applications, our explicit approach provides a unified framework to not only recover known congruences but also establish new non-congruence results and explicit congruences for various combinatorial and arithmetic functions.
A generalization of the Erdős-Sierpiński conjecture
In this paper, we investigate the combinatorial structure and asymptotic distribution of the solution set of the equation $σ(n+1) = kσ(n)$ for a given integer $k>1$. From a combinatorial perspective, the solutions to this equation are closely related to the concept of $k$-layered numbers, which are a generalization of Zumkeller numbers. In the analytic section, which constitutes the core of this research, we employ the framework of probabilistic number theory and an extension of the classical Kubilius model to study the oscillatory and local behavior of the sum-of-divisors function. Utilizing the truncation technique for arithmetic functions and applying the Chinese Remainder Theorem, the problem is reduced to a synthetic measure space equipped with independent random variables. Subsequently, by applying the optimized version of the Kolmogorov-Rogozin anti-concentration inequality (Petrov's theorem) to the difference of additive variables and finely tuning the error parameters, we prove that the natural density of this set is zero. The main quantitative outcome of this approach is the derivation of the explicit upper bound $A_k(x) \ll_k \frac{x}{\sqrt{\log \log \log x}}$ for the counting function of the solutions. Finally, alongside the zero asymptotic density, relying on the framework of polynomials and Schinzel's H Hypothesis, we establish the conditional infinitude of the solution set for the case $k=2$ and formulate the existential results.

An interplay between the Lambert series and Euler's Pentagonal Number Theorem gives an Euler-type recurrence relation for any given arithmetical function. As consequences of this, we present Euler-type recurrence relations for some well-known arithmetic functions. Furthermore, we derive Euler-type recurrence relations for certain partition functions and sum-of-divisors functions using infinite product identities of Jacobi and Gauss.
Symplectic Hecke eigenbases from Ehrhart polynomials
For $n\in\mathbb{N}$ and $\ell\in\{0,1,\dots,n\}$, we consider the function extracting the $\ell$th coefficient of the Ehrhart polynomials of lattice polytopes in $\mathbb{R}^n$. These functions form a basis of the space of unimodular invariant valuations. We show that, in even dimensions, these functions are in fact simultaneous symplectic Hecke eigenfunctions. We leverage this and apply the theory of spherical functions and their associated zeta functions to prove analytic, asymptotic, and combinatorial results about the arithmetic functions averaging $\ell$th Ehrhart coefficients.

Recently, Merca and Schmidt found some decompositions for the partition function $p(n)$ in terms of the classical Möbius function as well as Euler's totient. In this paper, we define a counting function $T_k^r(m)$ on the set of $n$-color partitions of $m$ for given positive integers $k, r$ and relate the function with the $n$-color partition function and other well-known arithmetic functions like the Möbius function, Liouville function, etc. and their divisor sums. Furthermore, we use a counting method of Erdös to obtain some counting theorems for $n$-color partitions that are analogous to those found by Andrews and Deutsch for the partition function.

We use the convolution method for arithmetic functions of several variables to deduce an asymptotic formula for the number of $k$-tuples of positive integers with components which are pairwise non-coprime and $\le x$. More generally, we obtain asymptotic formulas on the number of $k$-tuples $(n_1,\ldots,n_k)\in {\Bbb N}^k$ such that at least $r$ pairs $(n_i,n_j)$, respectively exactly $r$ pairs are coprime. Our results answer the questions raised by Moree (2005, 2014), and generalize and refine related results obtained by Heyman (2014) and Hu (2014).
Two Games on Arithmetic Functions: SALIQUANT and NONTOTIENT
We investigate the Sprague-Grundy sequences for two normal-play impartial games based on arithmetic functions, first described by Iannucci and Larsson in \cite{sum}. In each game, the set of positions is N (natural numbers). In saliquant, the options are to subtract a non-divisor. Here we obtain several nice number theoretic lemmas, a fundamental theorem, and two conjectures about the eventual density of Sprague-Grundy values.
In nontotient, the only option is to subtract the number of relatively prime residues. Here are able to calculate certain Sprague-Grundy values, and start to understand an appropriate class function.
Number of ordered factorizations and recursive divisors
The number of ordered factorizations and the number of recursive divisors are two related arithmetic functions that are recursively defined. But it is hard to construct explicit representations of these functions. Taking advantage of their recursive definition and a geometric interpretation, we derive three closed-form expressions for them both. These expressions shed light on the structure of these functions and their number-theoretic properties. Surprisingly, both functions can be expressed as simple generalized hypergeometric functions.
Properties of the recursive divisor function and the number of ordered factorizations
We recently introduced the recursive divisor function $κ_x(n)$, a recursive analogue of the usual divisor function. Here we calculate its Dirichlet series, which is ${ζ(s-x)}/(2 - ζ(s))$. We show that $κ_x(n)$ is related to the ordinary divisor function by $κ_x * σ_y = κ_y * σ_x$, where * denotes the Dirichlet convolution. Using this, we derive several identities relating $κ_x$ and some standard arithmetic functions. We also clarify the relation between $κ_0$ and the much-studied number of ordered factorizations $K(n)$, namely, $κ_0 = {\bf 1} * K$.
2-uniform toroidal maps, classification and asymptotic behavior
If a map has k transitivity classes of vertices that are subject to the action of the automorphism group, it is said to be k-uniform. The classification of 1-uniform maps on the torus is known. In this article, we classify 2-uniform maps on the torus up to isomorphism. Explicit formulas for the number of combinatorial types of these maps on number of vertices is obtained in terms of arithmetic functions in number theory, such as the divisor function. The asymptotic behaviour of these functions as number of vertices tends to infinity is also discussed and we obtained continuous functions which asymptotically served as upper and lower bounds.

Let $σ$ be a permutation of a nonempty finite or countably infinite set $X$ and let $F_X\left( σ^k\right)$ count the number of fixed points of the $k$th power of $σ$. This paper explains how the arithmetic function $k \mapsto \left(F_X\left( σ^k\right) \right)_{k=1}^{\infty}$ determines the conjugacy class of the permutation $σ$, constructs an algorithm to compute the conjugacy class from the fixed point counting function $F_X\left( σ^k\right)$, and describes the arithmetic functions that are fixed point counting functions of permutations.

Let $k\ge 2$ be a fixed integer. We consider sums of type $\sum_{n_1^2+\cdots+ n_k^2\le x} F(n_1,\ldots,n_k)$, taken over the $k$-dimensional spherical region $\{(n_1,\ldots,n_k)\in {\Bbb Z}^k: n_1^2+\cdots+ n_k^2\le x\}$, where $F:{\Bbb Z}^k\to {\Bbb C}$ is a given function. In particular, we deduce asymptotic formulas with remainder terms for the spherical summations $\sum_{n_1^2+\cdots+ n_k^2\le x} f((n_1,\ldots,n_k))$ and $\sum_{n_1^2+\cdots+ n_k^2\le x} f([n_1,\ldots,n_k])$, involving the GCD and LCM of the integers $n_1,\ldots,n_k$, where $f:{\Bbb N}\to {\Bbb C}$ belongs to certain classes of functions.

We obtain asymptotic formulas for the sums $\sum_{n_1,\ldots,n_k\le x} f((n_1,\ldots,n_k))$ and $ \sum_{n_1,\ldots,n_k\le x} f([n_1,\ldots,n_k])$ involving the gcd and lcm of the integers $n_1,\ldots,n_k$, where $f$ belongs to certain classes of additive arithmetic functions. In particular, we consider the generalized omega function $Ω_{\ell}(n)= \sum_{p^ν\mid\mid n} ν^{\ell}$ investigated by Duncan (1962) and Hassani (2018), and the functions $A(n)=\sum_{p^ν\mid\mid n} νp$, $A^*(n)= \sum_{p \mid n} p$, $B(n)=A(n)-A^*(n)$ studied by Alladi and Erdős (1977). As a key auxiliary result we use an inclusion-exclusion-type identity.

We attach to normalized (non-vanishing) arithmetic functions $g$ and $h$ recursively defined polynomials. Let $P_0^{g,h}(x):=1$. Then \begin{equation} P_n^{g,h}(x) := \frac{x}{h(n)} \sum_{k=1}^{n} g(k) \, P_{n-k}^{g,h}(x). \end{equation} For special $g$ and $h$, we obtain the D'Arcais polynomials, which are equal to the coefficients of the $-z$th powers of the Dedekind $η$-function and are also given by Nekrasov and Okounkov as a hook length formula. Examples are offered by Pochhammer polynomials, Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind, and associated Laguerre polynomials. We present explicit formulas and identities for the coefficients of $P_n^{g,h}(x)$ which separate the impact of $g$ and $h$. Finally, we provide several applications.

We generalize the asymptotic estimates by Bubboloni, Luca and Spiga (2012) on the number of $k$-compositions of $n$ satisfying some coprimality conditions. We substantially refine the error term concerning the number of $k$-compositions of $n$ with pairwise relatively prime summands. We use a different approach, based on properties of multiplicative arithmetic functions of $k$ variables and on an asymptotic formula for the restricted partition function.

Let $X_{n}$ denote the unitary Cayley graph of $\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z}$. We continue the study of cases in which the inequality $γ_t(X_n) \le g(n)$ is strict, where $γ_t$ denotes the total domination number, and $g$ is the arithmetic function known as Jacobsthal's function. The best that is currently known in this direction is a construction of Burcroff which gives a family of $n$ with arbitrarily many prime factors that satisfy $γ_t(X_n) \le g(n)-2$. We present a new interpretation of the problem which allows us to use recent results on the computation of Jacobsthal's function to construct $n$ with arbitrarily many prime factors that satisfy $γ_t(X_n) \le g(n)-16$. We also present new lower bounds on the domination numbers of direct products of complete graphs, which in turn allow us to derive new asymptotic lower bounds on $γ(X_n)$, where $γ$ denotes the domination number. Finally, resolving a question of Defant and Iyer, we completely classify all graphs $G = \prod_{i=1}^t K_{n_i}$ satisfying $γ(G) = t+2$.
Positive definite functions on semilattices
We introduce a notion of positive definiteness for functions $f\!:P\to\mathbb{R}$ defined on meet semilattices $(P,\preceq,\wedge)$ and prove several properties for these functions. In addition, we utilize the $LDL^{\rm T}$ decomposition of meet matrices in order to explore the properties of multivariate positive definite arithmetic functions $f\!:\mathbb{Z}_+^d\to\mathbb{R}$. Finally, we give a series of examples and counterexamples of positive definite functions.
On Enumeration of Dyck Paths with colored hills
We continue to investigate the properties of the earlier defined functions fm and gm, which depend on an initial arithmetic function f0. In this papers values of f0 are the Fine numbers. We investigate functions fi; gi; (i = 1; 2; 3; 4). For each function, we derive an explicit formula and give a combinatorial interpretation. It appears that g2 and g3 are well-known combinatoric object called the Catalan triangles. We finish with an identity consisting of ten items.

The unitary Cayley graph of $\mathbb{Z} /n \mathbb{Z}$, denoted $X_{\mathbb{Z} / n \mathbb{Z}}$, has vertices $0,1, \dots, n-1$ with $x$ adjacent to $y$ if $x-y$ is relatively prime to $n$. We present results on the tightness of the known inequality $γ(X_{\mathbb{Z} / n \mathbb{Z}})\leq γ_t(X_{\mathbb{Z} / n \mathbb{Z}})\leq g(n)$, where $γ$ and $γ_t$ denote the domination number and total domination number, respectively, and $g$ is the arithmetic function known as Jacobsthal's function. In particular, we construct integers $n$ with arbitrarily many distinct prime factors such that $γ(X_{\mathbb{Z} / n \mathbb{Z}})\leqγ_t(X_{\mathbb{Z} / n \mathbb{Z}})\leq g(n)-1$. Extending work of Mekiš, we give lower bounds for the domination numbers of direct products of complete graphs. We also present a simple conjecture for the exact values of the upper domination numbers of direct products of balanced, complete multipartite graphs and prove the conjecture in certain cases. We end with some open problems.
