On Chollet's Permanent Conjecture for Graph Laplacians
In 1982, Chollet conjectured that $\mathrm{per}(A\circ B)\le \mathrm{per}(A)\mathrm{per}(B)$ for Hermitian positive semidefinite matrices $A,B$, where $\circ$ denotes the Hadamard product, and observed that in the real symmetric case it suffices to prove $\mathrm{per}(A\circ A)\le \mathrm{per}(A)^2$. We prove $\mathrm{per}(A\circ A)\le \mathrm{per}(A)^2$ for symmetric $Z$-matrices with nonnegative diagonal whose support graph is bipartite. Motivated by this, we study the Laplacian inequality $\mathrm{per}(L_G\circ L_G)\le \mathrm{per}(L_G)^2$ for the graph Laplacian $L_G$. We introduce a compositional framework for permanental inequalities on graph Laplacians, showing that Chollet's inequality is preserved under vertex coalescence. This enables the extension of the inequality from basic graph classes to large structured families, revealing new tractable regimes for a fundamentally $\#P$-hard quantity.

Species, Symmetric Functions, and Kronecker Product
We study two new families of symmetric functions arising from a species-theoretic construction motivated by cycle structure. For each partition of $n$, we define two combinatorial species that decompose into molecules indexed by the same partition, giving rise to two corresponding basis of the homogeneous symmetric functions of degree $n$. We prove that each of these families forms a basis by exhibiting explicit cycle-index formulas and triangular transition matrices to the power-sum basis. Using these constructions, we generalize a classical result describing the Kronecker (Hadamard) product in the homogeneous basis to the two new settings. In particular, we show that the categories generated by these species are closed under the Kronecker product, and that the product of two basis elements expands with nonnegative integer coefficients. Our results provide a new combinatorial framework for studying the Kronecker product and suggest avenues toward interpreting its structure constants

Pell-Padovan tetranacci numbers and their Hadamard product with classical sequences
A quick way to compute generating functions related to Pell-Padovan tetranacci numbers and classical sequences of recursions of order two is provided. Eight special instances can be computed at once.
Classifying integer hypertilings
There are two objectives to this work: to classify all tame integer tilings and to classify all tame integer hypertilings. Motivation for the first objective comes from Conway and Coxeter's modelling of positive integer friezes using triangulated polygons, which has received significant attention since the discovery of cluster algebras by Fomin and Zelevinsky in 2002. Assem, Reutenauer, and Smith introduced $\text{SL}_2$-tilings as generalisations of friezes, and Bessenrodt, Holm, and Jørgensen classified positive integer $\text{SL}_2$-tilings using infinite triangulated polygons. Here we consider $N$-tilings, of which $\text{SL}_2$-tilings are the case $N=1$. We provide a geometric model for all tame integer $N$-tilings using a generalisation of the Farey graph in the hyperbolic plane. Highlights of this model include classifications of all positive integer $N$-tilings and of all quiddity sequences of positive rational friezes using triangulated polygons. The second objective is motivated by Bhargava's celebrated study of binary quadratic forms using integer cubes and by an observation of Demonet et al.\ that there is essentially only one three-dimensional positive integer tiling with $\text{SL}_2$ cross sections. We consider a richer class of three-dimensional tilings, which we call hypertilings, using the Cayley hyperdeterminant. We classify all tame integer hypertilings using generalised Farey graphs; remarkably, those with Cayley hyperdeterminant 1 prove to have a simple description in terms of triple Hadamard products of integer pairs.

A Proof of a conjecture of Watanabe--Yoshida via Ehrhart Theory
In 2005, Watanabe and Yoshida formulated a conjecture for a lower bound of the Hilbert-Kunz multiplicity of local rings that was recently settled by Meng using analytic methods. More recently, Pak-Shapiro-Smirnov-Yoshida used Ehrhart theory to compute explicitly the multiplicity and reduced the conjecture to showing an inequality of the values of the Ehrhart polynomial of a zigzag poset shifted to $t - 1/2$. We completely realize their approach to give another proof of this Watanabe--Yoshida conjecture. The main ingredient of the proof relies on a new explicit combinatorial formula for the coefficients of this shifted Ehrhart polynomial. In terms of the generating function of the shifted polynomial, this formula manifests itself as a Hadamard product of the exponential generating function of Euler numbers and an explicit algebraic function.

Cyclotomic Euler-Mahonian polynomials
The cyclotomic Eulerian polynomials and the cyclotomic Mahonian polynomials have each been the subject of extensive studies in Combinatorics, with particular attention to their signed versions. In contrast, the joint study of cyclotomic Euler-Mahonian polynomials has received far less consideration. To the best of our knowledge, the only prior result in this direction is a formula due to Wachs for the signed Euler-Mahonian polynomials in the even case. In this paper, we focus on the cyclotomic Euler-Mahonian polynomials and derive a formula based on the Hadamard product. As corollaries, we obtain the $I$-analogue (where $I=\sqrt{-1}$) of Wachs' formula for signed Euler-Mahonian polynomials, as well as the previously missing odd case for the signed Euler-Mahonian polynomials.

A Factorization of the Log-Concavity Operator for Pascal Determinantal Arrays and Their Infinite Row-Wise Log-Concavity
We study the Pascal determinantal arrays $\PD_k$, whose entries $\PD_k(i,j)$ are the $k\times k$ minors of the lower-triangular Pascal matrix $P=( \binom{a}{b} )_{a,b\ge 0}$. We prove an exact factorization of the row-wise log-concavity operator: \[ \LC(\PD_k)=\PD_{k-1}\Had\PD_{k+1}, \] where $\LC(a)_j=a_j^2-a_{j-1}a_{j+1}$ and $\Had$ denotes the Hadamard (entrywise) product. This identity is established by an elementary algebraic manipulation implicitly based on the idea of start of David rule. We further prove a general inequality asserting that the log-concavity operator is submultiplicative under Hadamard products of log-concave arrays: $\LC(A\Had X)\ge\LC(A)\Had\LC(X)$. Combining the factorization with this inequality yields a uniform algebraic proof that every row of every array $\PD_k$ ($k\ge 1$) is infinitely log-concave, extending the celebrated theorem of Brändén for the particular case of Pascal's triangle ($\PD_1$) to the entire determinantal hierarchy. Applications include the log-convexity of $\{\PD_k(i,j)\}_{k\ge 0}$ in the determinantal order $k$ and a family of determinantal Hadamard inequalities.
Counting fibres of the Hadamard product using Bergman fans
We study the generic fibre of the Hadamard product of linear spaces via matroid theory and tropical geometry. To do so, we introduce the flip product, a numerical invariant associated to a pair of matroids defined via the stable intersection of their (flipped) Bergman fans. Our first main result is that the cardinality of a generic fibre for the Hadamard product of linear spaces is exactly the flip product of their matroids. We also provide a recursive algorithm for computing the flip product of any pair of matroids. As an application of our techniques, we extend the notion of realisation numbers from rigidity theory to rotational-symmetric and periodic realisation numbers and we provide combinatorial algorithms to compute them. Finally, we show a number of existing matroid invariants are specialisations of the flip product, including the beta invariant.
Hadamard Products of dual Jacobi-Trudi matrices
We study positivity properties of Hadamard products of Jacobi-Trudi matrices. Maló proved that the Hadamard (entrywise) product of two totally positive upper-triangular Toeplitz matrices whose Toeplitz sequences are the coefficient sequences of real-rooted polynomials with nonpositive zeros is again totally positive. Sokal conjectured that this result can be strengthened to total monomial positivity for the Hadamard product of Jacobi-Trudi matrices. In this paper we show that Temperley-Lieb immanants are Schur positive for Hadamard products of Jacobi-Trudi matrices given by ribbon-like skew shapes. In particular, we affirm Sokal's conjecture for minors given by ribbon-like skew shapes. Moreover, we provide a manifestly positive Schur expansion for Temperley-Lieb immanants evaluated on the Hadamard product of Jacobi-Trudi matrices indexed by ribbons. In addition, for the ribbon case, we construct a corresponding representation, offering a representation-theoretic proof of the Schur positivity.

On the Squared Distance Matrix of a Starlike Block Graph
Let $D(G)$ be the distance matrix of a simple connected graph $G$. The Hadamard product $D(G)~\circ~ D(G)$ is called the squared distance matrix of $G$, and is denoted by $Δ(G)$. A simple connected graph is called a starlike block graph if it has a central cut vertex, and each of its blocks is a complete graph. Let $ \mathcal{S}(n_1, n_2, \ldots, n_b)$ be the starlike block graph with blocks $K_{n_1+1}, K_{n_2+1}, \ldots, K_{n_b+1} $ on $n=1 + \sum_{i=1}^b n_i$ vertices. In this article, we compute the determinant of $Δ( \mathcal{S}(n_1, n_2, \ldots, n_b))$ and find its inverse as a rank-one perturbation of a positive semidefinite Laplacian-like matrix $\mathcal{L}$ with rank $n-1$. We also investigate the inertia of $Δ( \mathcal{S}(n_1, n_2, \ldots, n_b))$. Furthermore, for a fixed value of $ n $ and $ b $, we determine the extremal graphs that uniquely attain the maximum and minimum spectral radius of the squared distance matrix for starlike block graphs on $ n $ vertices and $ b $ blocks.

Dilworth truncations and Hadamard products of linear spaces
As a direct application of Dilworth truncations of polymatroids, we give short proofs of two theorems: Bernstein's characterisation of algebraic matroids coming from the Hadamard product of two linear spaces, and a formula for the dimension of the amoeba of a complex linear space by Draisma, Eggleston, Pendavingh, Rau, and Yuen. We disprove Bernstein's conjecture on a characterisation of the algebraic matroids of Hadamard products of more than two linear spaces, by giving explicit counterexamples.
Analytic properties arising from the Baxter numbers
Baxter numbers are known as the enumeration of Baxter permutations and numerous other discrete structures, playing a significant role across combinatorics, algebra, and analysis. In this paper, we focus on the analytic properties related to Baxter numbers. We prove that the descent polynomials of Baxter permutations have interlacing zeros, which is a property stronger than real-rootedness. Our approach is based on Dilks' framework of $(q,t)$-Hoggatt sums, which is a $q$-analog for Baxter permutations. Within this framework, we show that the family of $(1,t)$-Hoggatt sums satisfies the interlacing property using fundamental results on Hadamard products of polynomials. For Baxter numbers, we prove their asymptotic $r$-log-convexity via asymptotic expansions of $P$-recursive sequences. In particular, we confirm their $2$-log-convexity using symbolic computation techniques.

Log-concavity of inverse Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials of paving matroids
Gao and Xie (2021) conjectured that the inverse Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomial of any matroid is log-concave. Although the inverse Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomial may not always have only real roots, we conjecture that the Hadamard product of an inverse Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomial of degree $n$ and $(1+t)^n$ has only real roots. Using interlacing polynomials and multiplier sequences, we confirm this conjecture for paving matroids. This result allows us to confirm the log-concavity conjecture for these matroids by applying Newton's inequalities.

Total positivity of Hadamard product of dual Jacobi--Trudi matrices
In 1992, Wagner proved that the Hadamard product of two totally positive lower triangular Toeplitz matrices is totally positive. In this work, we strengthen this result by establishing total monomial positivity for the Hadamard product of Jacobi--Trudi matrices. In particular, we resolve a conjecture of Sokal concerning the Hadamard square of Jacobi--Trudi matrices. Moreover, we provide a manifestly positive Schur expansion for the Hadamard square of Jacobi--Trudi matrices indexed by ribbons. In addition, we construct a corresponding representation, offering a representation-theoretic proof of the Schur positivity.

The Hadamard multiary quasigroup product
The Hadamard quasigroup product has recently been introduced as a natural generalization of the classical Hadamard product of matrices. It is defined as the superposition operator of three binary operations, one of them being a quasigroup operation. This paper delves into the fundamentals of this superposition operator by considering its more general version over multiary groupoids. Particularly, we show how this operator preserves algebraic identities, multiary groupoid structures, inverse elements, isotopes, conjugates and orthogonality. Then, we generalize the mentioned Hadamard quasigroup product to multiary quasigroups. Based on this product, we prove that the number of $m$-ary quasigroups defined on a given set $X$ coincides with the number of $m$-ary operations that are orthogonal to a given $m$-set of orthogonal $m$-ary operations over $X$.

Preservation of inequalities under Hadamard products
Wagner (1992) proved that the Hadamard product of two Pólya frequency sequences that are interpolated by polynomials is again a Pólya frequency sequence. We study whether related combinatorial properties are preserved under Hadamard products. In particular, we show that ultra log-concavity, $γ$-positivity, and interlacing symmetric decompositions are preserved. Furthermore, we disprove a conjecture by Fischer and Kubitzke (2014) concerning the real-rootedness of Hadamard powers.
Coloured shuffle compatibility, Hadamard products, and ask zeta functions
We devise an explicit method for computing combinatorial formulae for Hadamard products of certain rational generating functions. The latter arise naturally when studying so-called ask zeta functions of direct sums of modules of matrices or class- and orbit-counting zeta functions of direct products of nilpotent groups. Our method relies on shuffle compatibility of coloured permutation statistics and coloured quasisymmetric functions, extending recent work of Gessel and Zhuang.
Spinor-Helicity Varieties
The spinor-helicity formalism in particle physics gives rise to natural subvarieties in the product of two Grassmannians. These include two-step flag varieties for subspaces of complementary dimension. Taking Hadamard products leads to Mandelstam varieties. We study these varieties through the lens of combinatorics and commutative algebra, and we explore their tropicalization, positive geometry, and scattering correspondence.

The Factor Width Rank of a Matrix
A matrix is said to have factor width at most $k$ if it can be written as a sum of positive semidefinite matrices that are non-zero only in a single $k \times k$ principal submatrix. We explore the ``factor-width-$k$ rank'' of a matrix, which is the minimum number of rank-$1$ matrices that can be used in such a factor-width-at-most-$k$ decomposition. We show that the factor width rank of a banded or arrowhead matrix equals its usual rank, but for other matrices they can differ. We also establish several bounds on the factor width rank of a matrix, including a tight connection between factor-width-$k$ rank and the $k$-clique covering number of a graph, and we discuss how the factor width and factor width rank change when taking Hadamard products and Hadamard powers.

Large deviations of the empirical spectral measure of supercritical sparse Wigner matrices
Let $Ξ$ be the adjacency matrix of an Erdős-Rényi graph on $n$ vertices and with parameter $p$ and consider $A$ a $n\times n$ centered random symmetric matrix with bounded i.i.d. entries above the diagonal. When the mean degree $np$ diverges, the empirical spectral measure of the normalized Hadamard product $(A \circ Ξ)/\sqrt{np}$ converges weakly in probability to the semicircle law. In the regime where $p\ll 1$ and $ np \gg \log n$, we prove a large deviations principle for the empirical spectral measure with speed $n^2p$ and with a good rate function solution of a certain variational problem. The rate function reveals in particular that the only possible deviations at the exponential scale $n^2p$ are around measures coming from Quadratic Vector Equations. As a byproduct, we obtain a large deviations principle for the empirical spectral measure of supercritical Erdős-Rényi graphs.
