Exact Homomorphism Thresholds Beyond Cliques
The chromatic threshold, originating in a question of Erdős and Simonovits, asks when a linear minimum-degree condition forces bounded chromatic number in H-free graphs. Motivated by a question of Thomassen, the homomorphism threshold asks for the stronger conclusion that every such graph admits a homomorphism to an H-free graph of bounded order. Since the work of Goddard and Lyle determined the clique case, exact homomorphism thresholds for individual non-complete forbidden graphs have remained unknown. In this paper, we extend the clique case to a larger family of forbidden graphs, determining the homomorphism threshold exactly for every graph in this family.
Strong non-principality of positive codegree Turán density
The \emph{minimum positive codegree} $δ^+_{k-1}(G)$ of a $k$-graph $G$ is the minimum, over all $(k-1)$-sets that lie in at least one edge, of the number of edges containing that set. The \emph{positive codegree Turán density} of a $k$-graph family $\mathcal{F}$ is the asymptotically maximum value of $δ^+_{k-1}(G)/n$ over all $\mathcal{F}$-free $k$-graphs $G$ with $n\to\infty$ vertices. In this note, we establish a strong version of non-principality with respect to this density by proving that for every $k\ge3$ there exist two $k$-graphs $F_1$ and $F_2$ such that $$ 0<γ^+(F_1, F_2) < \min\{γ^+(F_1), γ^+(F_2)\}. $$

Rational codegree Turán density of hypergraphs
Let $H$ be a $k$-graph (i.e. a $k$-uniform hypergraph). Its minimum codegree $δ_{k-1}(H)$ is the largest integer $t$ such that every $(k-1)$-subset of $V(H)$ is contained in at least $t$ edges of~$H$. The \emph{codegree Turán density} $γ(\mathcal{F})$ of a family $\mathcal{F}$ of $k$-graphs is the infimum of $γ> 0$ such that every $k$-graph $H$ on $n\to\infty$ vertices with $δ_{k-1}(H) \ge (γ+o(1))\, n$ contains some member of $\mathcal{F}$ as a subgraph. We prove that, for every integer $k\ge3$ and every rational number $α\in [0,1)$, there exists a finite family of $k$-graphs $\mathcal{F}$ such that $γ(\mathcal{F})=α$. Also, for every $k \ge 3$, we establish a strong version of non-principality, namely that there are two $k$-graphs $F_1$ and $F_2$ such that the codegree Turán density of $\{F_1,F_2\}$ is strictly smaller than that of each $F_i$. This answers a question of Mubayi and Zhao [J Comb Theory (A) 114 (2007) 1118--1132].

The codegree Turán density of tight cycles
The codegree Turán density $γ(F)$ of a $k$-uniform hypergraph $F$ is the minimum real number $γ\ge 0$ such that every $k$-uniform hypergraph on sufficiently many $n$ vertices, in which every set of $k-1$ vertices is contained in at least $(γ+o(1))n$ edges, contains a copy of $F$. A recent result of Piga, Sanhueza-Matamala, and Schacht determines that $γ(C_{\ell}^3)=\frac13$ for every $3$-uniform tight cycle $C_\ell^3$ of length $\ell$, where $\ell \ge \ell_0$ and $\ell$ is not divisible by $3$. In this paper, we investigate the codegree Turán density of $k$-uniform tight cycles $C_\ell^k$. We establish improved upper and lower bounds on $γ(C_{\ell}^k)$ for general $\ell$ not divisible by $k$. These results yield the following consequences: 1). For any prime $k \ge 3$, we show that $γ(C_{\ell}^k)=\frac13$ for all sufficiently large $\ell$ not divisible by $k$, generalizing the above theorem of Piga et al. 2). For all $k \ge 3$, we determine the exact value of $γ(C_{\ell}^k)$ for integers $\ell$ not divisible by $k$ in a set of (natural) density at least $\frac{\varphi(k)}{k}$, where $\varphi(\cdot)$ denotes Euler's totient function. 3). We give a complete answer to a question of Han, Lo, and Sanhueza-Matamala concerning the tightness of their construction for $γ(C_{\ell}^k)$. Moreover, our results also determine the codegree Turán density of $C_\ell^{k-}$, that is, the $k$-uniform tight cycle of length $\ell$ with one edge removed, for a new set of integers $\ell$ of positive density for every $k \ge 3$. Our upper bound result is based on a structural characterization of $C_{\ell}^k$-free $k$-uniform hypergraphs with high minimum codegree, while the lower bounds are derived from a novel construction model, coupled with the arithmetic properties of the integers $k$ and $\ell$.

Recent advances in arrow relations and traces of sets
The arrow relation, a central concept in extremal set theory, captures quantitative relationships between families of sets and their traces. Formally, the arrow relation $(n, m) \rightarrow (a, b)$ signifies that for any family $\mathcal{F} \subseteq 2^{[n]}$ with $|\mathcal{F}| \geqslant m$, there exists an $a$-element subset $T \subseteq [n]$ such that the trace $\mathcal{F}_{|T} = \{ F \cap T : F \in \mathcal{F} \}$ contains at least $b$ distinct sets. This survey highlights recent progress on a variety of problems and results connected to arrow relations. We explore diverse topics, broadly categorized by different extremal perspectives on these relations, offering a cohesive overview of the field.

Optimal stability results on color-biased Hamilton cycles
We investigate Hamilton cycles in edge-colored graphs with \( r \) colors, focusing on the notion of color-bias (discrepancy), the maximum deviation from uniform color frequencies along a cycle. Foundational work by Balogh, Csaba, Jing, and Pluhár, and the later generalization by Freschi, Hyde, Lada, and Treglown, as well as an independent work by Gishboliner, Krivelevich, and Michaeli, established that any \(n\)-vertex graph with minimum degree exceeding \( \frac{(r+1)n}{2r} + \frac{m}{2}\) contains a Hamilton cycle with color-bias at least \(m\), and characterized the extremal graphs with minimum degree \(\frac{(r+1)n}{2r}\) in which all Hamilton cycles are perfectly balanced. We prove the optimal stability results: for any positive integers \(r\ge 2\) and \( m < 2^{-6} r^{2} n,\) if every Hamilton cycle in an \( n \)-vertex graph with minimum degree exceeding \( \frac{n}{2} + 6r^{2}m \) has color-bias less than \( m \), then the graph must closely resemble the extremal constructions of Freschi, Hyde, Lada, and Treglown. The leading term \( \frac{n}{2} \) in the degree condition is optimal, as it is the sharp threshold for guaranteeing Hamiltonicity. Moreover, we show the additive error term \(Θ(m)\) is also best possible when \(m\) is large and \(r=2\), since weaker condition \(\frac{n}{2}+o(m)\) allow for a counterexample. Notably, the structural stability threshold \( \frac{1}{2} \) lies strictly below the extremal threshold \( \frac{1}{2} + \frac{1}{2r} \) required to force color imbalance. Our proof leverages local configurations to deduce global structure, revealing a rigid combinatorial dichotomy.

Largest dyadic dual VC-dimension of non-piercing families
The dyadic dual VC-dimension of a set system \( \mathcal{F} \) is the largest integer \( \ell \) such that there exist \( \ell \) sets \( F_1, F_{2}, \dots, F_\ell \in \mathcal{F} \), where every pair \( \{i, j\} \in \binom{[\ell]}{2} \) is witnessed by an element \( a_{i,j} \in F_i \cap F_j \) that does not belong to any other set \( F_k \) with \( k \in [\ell] \setminus \{i, j\} \). In this paper, we determine the largest dyadic dual VC-dimension of a non-piercing family is exactly $4$, providing a rare example where the maximum of this parameter can be determined for a natural family arising from geometry. As an application, we give a short and direct proof that the transversal number \( τ(\mathcal{F}) \) of any non-piercing family is at most \(Cν(\mathcal{F})^9 \), where \( ν(\mathcal{F}) \) is the matching number and $C$ is a constant. This improves a recent result of Pálvölgyi and Zólomy.

Interpolating chromatic and homomorphism thresholds
The problem of chromatic thresholds seeks for minimum degree conditions that ensure $H$-free graphs to have a bounded chromatic number, or equivalently a bounded size homomorphic image. The strengthened homomorphism thresholds problem further requires that the homomorphic image itself is $H$-free. The purpose of this paper is two-fold. First, we define a generalized notion of threshold which encapsulates and interpolates chromatic and homomorphism thresholds via the theory of VC-dimension. Our first result shows a smooth transition between these two thresholds when varying the restrictions on homomorphic images. In particular, we proved that for $t \ge s \ge 3$ and $ε>0$, if $G$ is an $n$-vertex $K_s$-free graph with VC-dimension $d$ and $δ(G) \ge (\frac{(s-3)(t-s+2)+1}{(s-2)(t-s+2)+1} + ε)n$, then $G$ is homomorphic to a $K_t$-free graph $H$ with $|H| = O(1)$. Moreover, we construct graphs showing that this minimum degree condition is optimal. This extends and unifies the results of Thomassen, Łuczak and Thomassé, and Goddard, Lyle and Nikiforov, and provides a deeper insight into the cause of existences of homomorphic images with various properties. Second, we introduce the blowup threshold $δ_B(H)$ as the infimum $α$ such that every $n$-vertex maximal $H$-free graph $G$ with $δ(G)\geαn$ is a blowup of some $F$ with $|F|=O(1)$. This notion strengthens homomorphism threshold. While the homomorphism thresholds for odd cycles remain unknown, we prove that $δ_B(C_{2k-1})=1/(2k-1)$ for any integer $k\ge 2$. This strengthens the result of Ebsen and Schacht and answers a question of Schacht and shows that, in sharp contrast to the chromatic thresholds, 0 is an accumulation point for blowup thresholds. Our proofs mix tools from VC-dimension theory and an iterative refining process, and draw connection to a problem concerning codes on graphs.

Exact results on traces of sets
For non-negative integers $n$, $m$, $a$ and $b$, we write $\left( n,m \right) \rightarrow \left( a,b \right)$ if for every family $\mathcal{F}\subseteq 2^{[n]}$ with $|\mathcal{F}|\geqslant m$ there is an $a$-element set $T\subseteq [n]$ such that $\left| \mathcal{F}_{\mid T} \right| \geqslant b$, where $\mathcal{F}_{\mid T}=\{ F \cap T : F \in \mathcal{F} \}$. A longstanding problem in extremal set theory asks to determine $m(s)=\lim_{n\rightarrow +\infty}\frac{m(n,s)}{n}$, where $m(n,s)$ denotes the maximum integer $m$ such that $\left( n,m \right) \rightarrow \left( n-1,m-s \right)$ holds for non-negatives $n$ and $s$. In this paper, we establish the exact value of $m(2^{d-1}-c)$ for all $1\leqslant c\leqslant d$ whenever $d\geqslant 50$, thereby solving an open problem posed by Piga and Schülke. To be precise, we show that $$m(n,2^{d-1}-c)=\frac{2^{d}-c}{d}n \mbox{ for } 1\leq c\leq d-1 \mbox{ and } d\mid n, \mbox{ and } m(n,2^{d-1}-d)=\frac{2^{d}-d-0.5}{d}n \mbox{ for } 2d\mid n $$ holds for $d\geq 50$. Furthermore, we provide a proof that confirms a conjecture of Frankl and Watanabe from 1994, demonstrating that $m(11)=5.3$.

Sublinear hitting sets for some geometric graphs
For an $n$-vertex graph $G$, let $h(G)$ denote the smallest size of a subset of $V(G)$ such that it intersects every maximum independent set of $G$. A conjecture posed by Bollobás, Erdős and Tuza in early 90s remains widely open, asserting that for any $n$-vertex graph $G$, if the independence number $α(G) =Ω(n) $, then $h(G) = o(n)$. In this paper, we establish the validity of this conjecture for various classes of graphs, Our main contributions include: \begin{enumerate} \item We provide a novel unified framework to find sub-linear hitting sets for graphs with certain locally sparse properties. Based on this framework, we can find hitting sets of size at most $O(\frac{n}{\log{n}})$ in any $n$-vertex even-hole-free graph (in particular, chordal graph) and in any $n$-vertex disk graph, with linear independence numbers. \item Utilizing geometric observations and combinatorial arguments, we show that any $n$-vertex circle graph $G$ with linear independence number satisfies $h(G)\le O(\sqrt{n})$. Moreover, we extend this methodology to more general classes of graphs. \item We show the conjecture holds for those hereditary graphs having sublinear balanced separators. \end{enumerate} We also show that $h(G)$ can be upper bounded by constants for several sporadic families of graphs with large independence numbers.

Variants of VC dimension and their applications to dynamics
Since its introduction by Vapnik and Chervonenkis in the 1960s, the VC dimension and its variants have played a central role in numerous fields. In this paper, we investigate several variants of the VC dimension and their applications to dynamical systems. First, we prove a new bound for a recently introduced generalization of VC dimension, which unifies and extends various extremal results on the VC, Natarajan, and Steele dimensions. This new bound allows us to strengthen one of the main theorems of Huang and Ye [Adv. Math., 2009] in dynamical systems. Second, we refine a key lemma of Huang and Ye related to a variant of VC dimension by providing a more concise and conceptual proof. We also highlight a surprising connection among this result, combinatorics, dynamical systems, and recent advances in communication complexity.
