The injective hulls of odd cycles are described explicitly.

A cascade of dihedral symmetries is hidden in Young's lattice of integer partitions. In fact, for each integer N>2 the Hasse graph of the subposet consisting of the partitions with maximal hook length strictly less than N has the dihedral group of order 2N as its symmetry group. Here a new interpretation of those Hasse graphs is presented, namely as the 1-skeleta of the injective hulls of certain finite metric spaces.

Consider an irreducible finite Coxeter system. We show that for any nonnegative integer n the sum of the nth powers of the Coxeter exponents can be written uniformly as a polynomial in four parameters: h (the Coxeter number), r (the rank), and two further parameters.

Let g be a complex simple Lie algebra and b a fixed Borel subalgebra of g. We shall describe the abelian ideals of b in a uniform way, that is, independent of the classification of complex simple Lie algebras.
