Precoloring 3-extension on outerplanar graphs
The precoloring problem of a graph involves assigning colors to some vertices beforehand, and the objective is to determine whether it can be extended to a proper k-coloring of the entire graph. In 1958, Grotzsch proved that every triangle-free planar graph can be properly colored by three colors. One of the further generalizations of it is the recent result by Hoang La et al. in (Discrete Mathematics, 345(6) (2022), 112849 ). They proved that any two non-adjacent vertices and a face with a length at most four are precolored, the precolorings can be extended to a 3-coloring of the graph. In the paper, we consider precoloring extension of connected outerplanar graph with at most one or two triangles. Particularly, we show that precoloring of any two or three non-adjacent vertices can be extend to a 3-coloring of the whole graph.

Foucaud et al. [Discrete Appl. Math. 319 (2022), 424-438] recently introduced and initiated the study of a new graph-theoretic concept in the area of network monitoring. For a set $M$ of vertices and an edge $e$ of a graph $G$, let $P(M, e)$ be the set of pairs $(x, y)$ with a vertex $x$ of $M$ and a vertex $y$ of $V(G)$ such that $d_G(x, y)\neq d_{G-e}(x, y)$. For a vertex $x$, let $EM(x)$ be the set of edges $e$ such that there exists a vertex $v$ in $G$ with $(x, v) \in P(\{x\}, e)$. A set $M$ of vertices of a graph $G$ is distance-edge-monitoring set if every edge $e$ of $G$ is monitored by some vertex of $M$, that is, the set $P(M, e)$ is nonempty. The distance-edge-monitoring number of a graph $G$, denoted by $dem(G)$, is defined as the smallest size of distance-edge-monitoring sets of $G$. The vertices of $M$ represent distance probes in a network modeled by $G$; when the edge $e$ fails, the distance from $x$ to $y$ increases, and thus we are able to detect the failure. It turns out that not only we can detect it, but we can even correctly locate the failing edge. In this paper, we continue the study of \emph{distance-edge-monitoring sets}. In particular, we give upper and lower bounds of $P(M,e)$, $EM(x)$, $dem(G)$, respectively, and extremal graphs attaining the bounds are characterized. We also characterize the graphs with $dem(G)=3$.
A note on a conjecture of star chromatic index for outerplanar graphs

A star edge coloring of a graph $G$ is a proper edge coloring of $G$ without bichromatic paths or cycles of length four. The it star chromatic index, $χ_{st}^{'} (G ),$ of $G$ is the minimum number $k$ for which $G$ has a star edge coloring by $k$ colors. In \cite{LB},
L. Bezegov$\acute{a}$ et al. conjectured that $χ_{st}^{'} (G )\leq \lfloor\frac{3Δ}{2}\rfloor+1$ when $G$ is an outerplanar graph with
maximum degree $Δ\geq 3.$ In this paper we obtained that $χ_{st}^{'}(G) \leq Δ+6$ when $G$ is an 2-connected outerplanar graph with diameter 2 or 3. If $G$ is an 2-connected outerplanar graph with maximum degree 5, then $χ_{st}^{'}(G) \leq 9.$
Rainbow connection of bridgeless outerplanar graphs with small diameters
In this paper, we investigate rainbow connection number $rc(G)$ of bridgeless outerplanar graphs $G$ with diameter 2 or 3. We proved the following results: If $G$ has diameter $2,$ then $rc(G)=3$ for fan graphs $F_{n}$ with $n\geq 7$ or $C_5,$ otherwise $rc(G)=2;$ if $G$ has diameter $3,$ then $rc(G)\leq 4$ and the bound is sharp.

In this paper, we consider rainbow connection number of maximal outerplanar graphs(MOPs) on algorithmic aspect. For the (MOP) $G$, we give sufficient conditions to guarantee that $rc(G) = diam(G).$ Moreover, we produce the graph with given diameter $d$ and give their rainbow coloring in linear time. X.Deng et al. $\cite{XD}$ give a polynomial time algorithm to compute the rainbow connection number of MOPs by the Maximal fan partition method, but only obtain a compact upper bound. J. Lauri $\cite{JL}$ proved that, for chordal outerplanar graphs given an edge-coloring, to verify whether it is rainbow connected is NP-complete under the coloring, it is so for MOPs. Therefore we construct Central-cut-spine of MOP $G,$ by which we design an algorithm to give a rainbow edge coloring with at most $2rad(G)+2+c,0\leq c\leq rad(G)-2$ colors in polynomial time.
Concentration properties of semi-vertex transitive graphs and random bi-coset graphs
It is well-known that concentrators are sparse graphs of high connectivity, which play a key role in the construction of switching networks; and any semi-vertex transitive graph is isomorphic to a bi-coset graph. In this paper, we prove that random bi-coset graphs are almost always concentrators, and construct some examples of semi-vertex transitive concentrators.
