The induced-$P_4$-free process
We study the random induced-$P_4$-free graph process. Let $e_1,\ldots,e_N$, where $N=\binom{n}{2}$, be a uniformly random ordering of the edges of $K_n$. Starting from the empty graph $G_0$, we add $e_{m+1}$ whenever $G_m+e_{m+1}$ contains no induced $P_4$, and otherwise leave the graph unchanged. We show that the terminal graph is a trivially perfect graph and we describe the structure and distribution of the connected components of the terminal graph $G_N$. Consequently, we derive the limiting values of several natural graph parameters. In particular, the terminal graph $G_N$ has $Θ(n)$ edges.
A general method of deducing the determinantal expressions for polynomial and its derivative
In this paper, we present a general method of deducing the determinantal expressions for a polynomial and its derivative. As illustrations, we provide three determinantal expressions for the derivative of the Eulerian polynomial. Using a functional equation discovered by Gessel,we also establish the determinantal expressions for the second-order Eulerian polynomial and its derivative.
Pancyclicity in Graph Families with the Ore-Type Condition
Let $ n \in \mathbb{N} $ with $ n \geq 3 $, and let $\mathcal{G} = \{G_i:i\in [n]\} $ be a family of $ n $-vertex graphs on a common vertex set $V$, where the graphs in the family do not need to be distinct. A graph $H$ with vertex set $V$ is \emph{rainbow} in $\mathcal{G}$ if there exists an injection $ φ: E(H) \to [n] $ such that $e \in E(G_{φ(e)})$ for every edge $e \in E(H)$, where $|E(H)|\leq n$. In 2020, Joos and Kim proved that $\mathcal{G}$ contains a rainbow Hamiltonian cycle under the Dirac-type condition. Recently, Liu, Chen, and Ma generalized this result by replacing the Dirac-type condition with a more general Ore-type condition involving degree sums of non-adjacent vertices: If $σ(\mathcal{G}) \geq n$, then $\mathcal{G}$ contains a rainbow Hamiltonian cycle, where the Ore-type condition $σ(\mathcal{G})$ is defined as follows: $
σ(\mathcal{G}) = \min\{d_p(u) + d_q(v) \mid uv \notin E(G_i) \text{ for some } i \in [n] \text{ and for all } p, q \in [n]\}. $
In this paper, under the Ore-type condition, we show that either each vertex of $V$ is contained in a rainbow cycle of length $\ell$ for every $\ell\in[4,n]$, or $G_1=\cdots=G_n=K_{\frac{n}{2},\frac{n}{2}}$. As a corollary, we deduce the rainbow pancyclicity of $\mathcal{G}$, which
supports the famous meta-conjecture posed by Bondy. Furthermore, we prove rainbow vertex-pancyclicity of $\mathcal{G}$ under the Ore-type condition and provide an extremal graph family to show that the result is sharp.
Turán-Theoretic Bounds on Several Elementary Trapping Sets in LDPC Codes
LDPC codes have attracted significant attention because of their superior performance close to the Shannon limit. Elementary trapping sets are the main cause of the error floor phenomenon in LDPC codes. We consider typical graphs related to trapping sets, including theta graphs, dumbbell graphs, and short cycles with chords. Based on the Turán numbers of $θ(2,2,2)$, $θ(1,3,3)$ and $D(4,4;0)$, we prove that any $(a,b)$-ETS with $g=8$ variable-regular $γ$ satisfies the inequality $b\geq aγ-\frac{a(\sqrt{24a-23}-1)}{4}$, provided that any two 8-cycles in the Tanner graph do not share common variable node. In addition, we can also eliminate ETSs by removing certain short-cycle structures with chords. The minimum sizes of ETSs obtained through these methods are significantly increased. To assess practical impact , we analyze spectral radii of the ETSs and construct QC-LDPC codes to show frame error rates in the error floor region.
An Erdős-Ko-Rado result for some principal series representations
Let $V$ be an irreducible principal series representation of $\mathrm{GL}_2(q)$ satisfying certain conditions. Two subsets $S_1, S_2 \subseteq \mathrm{GL}_2(q)$ are called cross-$t$-intersecting if $\dim\{v \in V: g_1v = g_2v\} \geqslant t$ for any $(g_1, g_2) \in S_1 \times S_2$. In this paper, we determine $\max(|S_1|\cdot|S_2|)$ where $S_1, S_2 \subseteq \mathrm{GL}_2(q)$ are cross-$1$-intersecting. Our proofs are based on eigenvalue techniques and the representation theory of $\mathrm{GL}_2(q)$.
Symmetric decompositions and Euler-Stirling statistics on Stirling permutations
The Stirling permutations introduced by Gessel-Stanley have recently received considerable attention. Motivated by Ji's work on $(α,β)$-Eulerian polynomials (Sci China Math., 2025) and Yan-Yang-Lin's work on $1/k$-Eulerian polynomials (J. Combin. Theory Ser. A, 2026), we present several symmetric decompositions of the enumerators related to Euler-Stirling statistics on Stirling permutations. Firstly, we provide a partial symmetric decomposition for the $1/k$-Eulerian polynomial. Secondly, we give several unexpected applications of the $(p,q)$-Eulerian polynomials, where $p$ marks the number of fixed points of permutations and $q$ marks that of cycles. From this paper, one can see that $(p,q)$-Eulerian polynomial contains a great deal of information about permutations and Stirling permutations. Using the change of grammars, we show that the $(α,β)$-Eulerian polynomials introduced by Carlitz-Scoville can be deduced from the $(p,q)$-Eulerian polynomials by special parametrizations. We then introduce proper and improper ascent-plateau statistics on Stirling permutations. Moreover, we introduce proper ascent, improper ascent, proper descent and improper descent statistics on permutations. Furthermore, we consider the joint distributions of Euler-Stirling statistics on permutations, including the numbers of improper ascents, proper ascents, left-to-right minima and right-to-left minina. In the final part, we first give a symmetric decomposition of the joint distribution of the ascent-plateau and left ascent-plateau statistics, and then we show that the $q$-ascent-plateau polynomials are bi-$γ$-positive, where $q$ marks the number of left-to-right minima.
Planar Turán number of disjoint union of $C_3$ and $C_5$
The planar Turán number of $H$, denoted by $ex_{\mathcal{P}}(n,H)$, is the maximum number of edges in an $n$-vertex $H$-free planar graph. The planar Turán number of $k\geq 3$ vertex-disjoint union of cycles is the trivial value $3n-6$. Let $C_{\ell}$ denote the cycle of length $\ell$ and $C_{\ell}\cup C_t$ denote the union of disjoint cycles $C_{\ell}$ and $C_t$. The planar Turán number $ex_{\mathcal{P}}(n,H)$ is known if $H=C_{\ell}\cup C_k$, where $\ell,k\in \{3,4\}$. In this paper, we determine the value $ex_{\mathcal{P}}(n,C_3\cup C_5)=\lfloor\frac{8n-13}{3}\rfloor$ and characterize the extremal graphs when $n$ is sufficiently large.
Isodiametric inequality for vector spaces
A theorem of Kleitman states that a collection of binary vectors with diameter d has cardinality at most that of a Hamming ball of radius d/2. In this paper, we give a q-analog of it.
Planar Turán number of two adjacent cycles
The planar Turán number of $H$, denoted by $ex_{\mathcal{P}}(n,H)$, is the maximum number of edges in an $n$-vertex $H$-free planar graph. The planar Turán number of $k(k\geq 3)$ vertex-disjoint union of cycles is the trivial value $3n-6$. We determine the planar Turán number of $C_{3}\text{-}C_{3}$ and $C_{3}\text{-}C_{4}$, where $C_{k}\text{-}C_{\ell}$ denotes the graph consisting of two disjoint cycles $C_k$ with an edge connecting them.
On automorphism groups of polar codes
Over the past years, Polar codes have arisen as a highly effective class of linear codes, equipped with a decoding algorithm of low computational complexity. This family of codes share a common algebraic formalism with the well-known Reed-Muller codes, which involves monomial evaluations. As useful algebraic codes, more specifically known as decreasing monomial codes, a lot of decoding work has been done on Reed-Muller codes based on their rich code automorphisms. In 2021, a new permutation group decoder, referred to as the automorphism ensemble (AE) decoder, was introduced. This decoder can be applied to Polar codes and has been shown to produce similar decoding effects. However, identifying the right set of code automorphisms that enhance decoding performance for Polar codes remains a challenging task. This paper aims to characterize the full automorphism group of Polar codes. We will prove a reduction theorem that effectively reduces the problem of determining the full automorphism group of arbitrary random Polar codes to that of a specified class of Polar codes. Besides, we give exact classification of the full automorphism groups of families of Polar codes that are constructed using the Reed-Muller codes.
Planar Turán number for balanced double stars
Planar Turán number, denoted by $ex_{\mathcal{P}}(n,H)$, is the maximum number of edges in an $n$-vertex planar graph which does not contain $H$ as a subgraph. Ghosh, Győri, Paulos and Xiao initiated the topic of the planar Turán number for double stars. For balanced double star, $S_{3,3}$ is the only remaining graph need to be considered. In this paper, we give the exact value of $ex_{\mathcal{P}}(n,S_{3,3})$, forcing the planar Turán number for all balanced double stars completely determined.
Anti-Ramsey Numbers of Expansions of Doubly Edge-critical Graphs in Uniform Hypergraphs
For an $r$-graph $H$, the anti-Ramsey number ${\rm ar}(n,r,H)$ is the minimum number $c$ of colors such that for any edge-coloring of the complete $r$-graph on $n$ vertices with at least $c$ colors, there is a copy of $H$ whose edges have distinct colors. A 2-graph $F$ is doubly edge-$p$-critical if the chromatic number $χ(F - e)\geq p$ for every edge $e$ in $F$ and there exist two edges $e_1,e_2$ in $F$ such that $χ(F -e_1- e_2)=p-1$. The anti-Ramsey numbers of doubly edge-$p$-critical 2-graphs were determined by Jiang and Pikhurko \cite{Jiang&Pikhurko2009}, which generalized the anti-Ramsey numbers of cliques determined by Erdős, Simonovits and Sós \cite{Erdos&Simonovits&Sos1975}. In general, few exact values of anti-Ramsey numbers of $r$-graphs are known for $r\geq 3$. Given a 2-graph $F$, the expansion $F^{(r)}$ of $F$ is an $r$-graph on $|V(F)|+(r-2)|F|$ vertices obtained from $F$ by adding $r-2$ new vertices to each edge of $F$. In this paper, we determine the exact value of ${\rm ar}(n,r,F^{(r)})$ for any doubly edge-$p$-critical 2-graph $F$ with $p>r\geq 3$ and sufficiently large $n$.
Anti-Ramsey numbers of loose paths and cycles in uniform hypergraphs
For a fixed family of $r$-uniform hypergraphs $\mathcal{F}$, the anti-Ramsey number of $\mathcal{F}$, denoted by $ ar(n,r,\mathcal{F})$, is the minimum number $c$ of colors such that for any edge-coloring of the complete $r$-uniform hypergraph on $n$ vertices with at least $c$ colors, there is a rainbow copy of some hypergraph in $\mathcal{F}$. Here, a rainbow hypergraph is an edge-colored hypergraph with all edges colored differently. Let $\mathcal{P}_k$ and $\mathcal{C}_k$ be the families of loose paths and loose cycles with $k$ edges in an $r$-uniform hypergraph, respectively. In this paper, we determine the exact values of $ ar(n,r,\mathcal{P}_k)$ and $ ar(n,r,\mathcal{C}_k)$ for all $k\geq 4$ and $r\geq 3$.
Rainbow Hamilton cycle in hypergraph system
In this paper, we develop a new rainbow Hamilton framework, which is of independent interest, settling the problem proposed by Gupta, Hamann, Müyesser, Parczyk, and Sgueglia when $k=3$, and draw the general conclusion for any $k\geq3$ as follows. A $k$-graph system $\textbf{H}=\{H_i\}_{i\in[n]}$ is a family of not necessarily distinct $k$-graphs on the same $n$-vertex set $V$, moreover, a $k$-graph $H$ on $V$ is rainbow if $E(H)\subseteq \bigcup_{i\in[n]}E(H_i)$ and $|E(H)\cap E(H_i)|\leq1$ for $i\in[n]$. We show that given $γ> 0$, sufficiently large $n$ and an $n$-vertex $k$-graph system $\textbf{H}=\{H_i\}_{i\in[n]}$ , if $δ_{k-2}(H_i)\geq(5/9+γ)\binom{n}{2}$ for $i\in[n]$ where $k\geq3$, then there exists a rainbow tight Hamilton cycle. This result implies the conclusion in a single graph, which was proved by Lang and Sanhueza-Matamala [$J. Lond. Math. Soc., 2022$], Polcyn, Reiher, Rödl and Schülke [$J. Combin. Theory \ Ser. B, 2021$] independently.
Hypergraph incidence coloring

An incidence of a hypergraph $\mathcal{H}=(X,S)$ is a pair $(x,s)$ with $x\in X$, $s\in S$ and $x\in s$. Two incidences $(x,s)$ and $(x',s')$ are adjacent if (i) $x=x'$, or (ii) $\{x,x'\}\subseteq s$ or $\{x,x'\}\subseteq s'$. A proper incidence $k$-coloring of a hypergraph $\mathcal{H}$ is a mapping $\varphi$ from the set of incidences of $\mathcal{H}$ to $\{1,2,\ldots,k\}$ so that $\varphi(x,s)\neq \varphi(x',s')$ for any two adjacent incidences $(x,s)$ and $(x',s')$ of $\mathcal{H}$. The incidence chromatic number $χ_I(\mathcal{H})$ of $\mathcal{H}$ is the minimum integer $k$ such that $\mathcal{H}$ has a proper incidence $k$-coloring. In this paper we prove $χ_I(\mathcal{H})\leq (4/3+o(1))r(\mathcal{H})Δ(\mathcal{H})$ for every $t$-quasi-linear hypergraph with $t<<r(\mathcal{H})$ and sufficiently large $Δ(\mathcal{H})$, where $r(\mathcal{H})$ is the maximum of the cardinalities of the edges in $\mathcal{H}$. It is also proved that $χ_I(\mathcal{H})\leq Δ(\mathcal{H})+r(\mathcal{H})-1$ if $\mathcal{H}$ is an $α$-acyclic linear hypergraph, and this bound is sharp.

We improve Gilbert-Varshamov bound by graph spectral method. Gilbert graph $G_{q,n,d}$ is a graph with all vectors in $\mathbb{F}_q^n$ as vertices where two vertices are adjacent if their Hamming distance is less than $d$. In this paper, we calculate the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of $G_{q,n,d}$ using the properties of Cayley graph. The improved bound is associated with the minimum eigenvalue of the graph. Finally we give an algorithm to calculate the bound and linear codes which satisfy the bound.
Cut Bounds for Some Weighted Graphs
In communication field, an important issue is to group users and base stations to as many as possible subnetworks satisfying certain interference constraints. These problems are usually formulated as a graph partition problems which minimize some forms of graph cut. Previous research already gave some results about the cut bounds for unweighted regular graph. In this paper, we prove a result about the lower bound for weighted graphs that have some regular properties and show similar results for more general case.
An Improved Error Term for Tur$\acute{\rm a}$n Number of Expanded Non-degenerate 2-graphs
For a 2-graph $F$, let $H_F^{(r)}$ be the $r$-graph obtained from $F$ by enlarging each edge with a new set of $r-2$ vertices. We show that if $χ(F)=\ell>r \geq 2$, then $ {\rm ex}(n,H_F^{(r)})= t_r (n,\ell-1)+ Θ( {\rm biex}(n,F)n^{r-2}),$ where $t_r (n,\ell-1)$ is the number of edges of an $n$-vertex complete balanced $\ell-1$ partite $r$-graph and ${\rm biex}(n,F)$ is the extremal number of the decomposition family of $F$. Since ${\rm biex}(n,F)=O(n^{2-γ})$ for some $γ>0$, this improves on the bound ${\rm ex}(n,H_F^{(r)})= t_r (n,\ell-1)+ o(n^r)$ by Mubayi (2016). Furthermore, our result implies that ${\rm ex}(n,H_F^{(r)})= t_r (n,\ell-1)$ when $F$ is edge-critical, which is an extension of the result of Pikhurko (2013).

In this paper, we consider rainbow connection number of maximal outerplanar graphs(MOPs) on algorithmic aspect. For the (MOP) $G$, we give sufficient conditions to guarantee that $rc(G) = diam(G).$ Moreover, we produce the graph with given diameter $d$ and give their rainbow coloring in linear time. X.Deng et al. $\cite{XD}$ give a polynomial time algorithm to compute the rainbow connection number of MOPs by the Maximal fan partition method, but only obtain a compact upper bound. J. Lauri $\cite{JL}$ proved that, for chordal outerplanar graphs given an edge-coloring, to verify whether it is rainbow connected is NP-complete under the coloring, it is so for MOPs. Therefore we construct Central-cut-spine of MOP $G,$ by which we design an algorithm to give a rainbow edge coloring with at most $2rad(G)+2+c,0\leq c\leq rad(G)-2$ colors in polynomial time.

Let $K_{m}-H$ be the graph obtained from $K_{m}$ by removing the edges set $E(H)$ of the graph $H$ ($H$ is a subgraph of $K_{m}$). We use the symbol $Z_4$ to denote $K_4-P_2.$ A sequence $S$ is potentially $K_{m}-H$-graphical if it has a realization containing a $K_{m}-H$ as a subgraph. Let $σ(K_{m}-H, n)$ denote the smallest degree sum such that every $n$-term graphical sequence $S$ with $σ(S)\geq σ(K_{m}-H, n)$ is potentially $K_{m}-H$-graphical. In this paper, we determine the values of $σ(K_{r+1}-U, n)$ for
$n\geq 5r+18, r+1 \geq k \geq 7,$ $j \geq 6$ where $U$ is a graph on $k$ vertices and $j$ edges which contains a graph $K_3 \bigcup P_3$ but not contains a cycle on 4 vertices and not contains $Z_4$. There are a number of graphs on $k$ vertices and $j$ edges which contains a graph $(K_{3} \bigcup P_{3})$ but not contains a cycle on 4 vertices and not contains $Z_4$. (for example, $C_3\bigcup C_{i_1} \bigcup C_{i_2} \bigcup >... \bigcup C_{i_p}$ $(i_j\neq 4, j=2,3,..., p, i_1 \geq 5)$, $C_3\bigcup P_{i_1} \bigcup P_{i_2} \bigcup ... \bigcup P_{i_p}$ $(i_1 \geq 3)$, $C_3\bigcup P_{i_1} \bigcup C_{i_2} \bigcup >... \bigcup C_{i_p}$ $(i_j\neq 4, j=2,3,..., p, i_1 \geq 3)$, etc)
