$J$-ascent sets in parabolic quotients of Coxeter groups
Let $(W,S)$ be a Coxeter system and let $J\subseteq S$. The right $J$-ascent set $$ A_R^J(w)=\{s\in S\mid ws\in{}^JW,\ \ell(ws)=\ell(w)+1\} $$ is a natural refinement of the classical ascent set adapted to the parabolic quotient ${}^JW$. We establish a local transition formula describing the behaviour of $J$-ascent sets under right multiplication by a simple reflection. As a consequence, for every $w\in{}^JW$ and every $s\in A_R^J(w)$, we prove that $$ \Bigl||A_R^J(w)|-|A_R^J(ws)|\Bigr| \leq \max\{1,\text{deg}(s)-1\}. $$

Parking functions, Smirnov words, and noncrossing Chow polynomials
We prove real-rootedness of the Chow polynomials of the noncrossing partition lattices by transferring tieless parking functions to finite-alphabet Smirnov words and applying a last-letter interlacing recurrence. We also derive a triangular recurrence for peaks and ties and identify the peakless-tieless descent polynomial as the Narayana polynomial. For the toric $g$-contributions of Ehrenborg--Hetyei--Readdy, we exhibit a fixed-row common interlacer and establish real-rootedness of all nonnegative row sums. Individual real-rootedness follows in particular; Q.~Xiao recently proved it independently by a different differential recurrence. We also give a separate finite Schur--Szegő convolution proof of the individual statement. These results prove Conjecture~4.2 of Xiao and Conjecture~11.2 of Ehrenborg--Hetyei--Readdy, with consequences for weakly 123-avoiding parking functions. We also prove real-rootedness for the image-size polynomial on all parking functions and for the ascent and descent polynomials of four two-pattern-avoiding classes.

Variations of colored multiset Eulerian polynomials and applications
Deligeorgaki, Han and Solus introduced colored multiset Eulerian polynomials, derived a generating function identity which generalizes MacMahon's identity, proved their self-interlacing under suitable parameter conditions, and identified these polynomials as the h^*-polynomials of direct products of dilated lattice simplices. In this paper, we introduce an ascent analogue of the colored multiset Eulerian polynomial, derive an explicit generating function identity for this polynomial, show that it is equal to the h^*-polynomial of a family of half-open lattice polytopes, and verify that this ascent polynomial also satisfies self-interlacing under the same parameter conditions. By establishing recurrence relations, we prove that both polynomials are real-rooted for all positive integer parameters. The obtained identities are further applied to interpret combinatorially the h^*-polynomials of Pitman--Stanley polytopes, composition polytopes and a family of reflexive lattice polytopes defined from preorders.

Bijective proofs of several conjectures on Jacobi permutations
Jacobi permutations, invented by Viennot in the context of the Jacobi elliptic functions, are counted by the Euler numbers. Recently, Henke, Hoffman, Stephens, Yuan, and Zhuang studied refined enumerations of Jacobi permutations and proposed three conjectures concerning the distribution of several statistics on Jacobi permutations. In this paper, we prove these conjectures by establishing explicit bijections involving increasing even trees, increasing binary trees, alternating permutations, and André permutations. One highlight of our results is a bijection between Jacobi permutations and André I permutations that transforms the pair of statistics $(\Ascbot, \last)$ to the pair of statistics $(\Desbot, \first)$. Here the statistic $\Ascbot$ (resp., $\Desbot$) denotes the set of ascent bottoms (resp., descent bottoms) of permutations, and the statistic $\first$ (resp., $\last$) denotes the first (resp., $\last$) letter of permutations. Furthermore, we investigate pairs of statistics on André permutations and simsun permutations that are equidistributed with the pair $(\asc, \last)$ on Jacobi permutations, where $\asc$ denotes the number of ascents of permutations. Finally, we obtain a closed-form formula for the trivariate exponential generating function of Jacobi permutations with respect to the number of ascents and the numbers of letters smaller and larger than the last letter.

Decreasing Runs in Quasi-Stirling Permutations of Multisets
As a natural extension of Stirling permutations, quasi-Stirling permutations are multipermutations $π$ with the property that for any subsequence $π_{j_1}π_{j_2}π_{j_3}π_{j_4}$ satisfying $π_{j_1}=π_{j_3}$ and $π_{j_2}=π_{j_4}$, we have $π_{j_1}=π_{j_2}$. Using a bijective construction, Yan, Yang, Huang and Zhu showed that the joint distribution of ascents, descents and plateaux over quasi-Stirling permutations of a multiset $M=\{1^{k_1},2^{k_2},\ldots,n^{k_n}\}$ coincides with that over the multiset $M'=\{1^{k_1+\cdots+k_n-n+1},2,\ldots,n\}$. In this paper, we prove that the same invariance of distribution holds for decreasing runs, and consequently for all decreasing consecutive patterns. To this end, following the Yan-Yang-Huang-Zhu approach, we construct a multiplicity-redistribution bijection that preserves decreasing runs, thereby reducing the computation of joint distribution of decreasing consecutive patterns over quasi-Stirling permutations from $M$ to $M'$. Together with the classical run theorem, our bijection leads to explicit recurrence relations and generating functions for the distribution functions of these statistics over quasi-Stirling permutations.

A bijection on balanced words reversing both $\text{des}$ and $\text{maj}$
Balanced words on a finite alphabet are those words in which every letter of the alphabet occurs the same number of times. The notion of descents and major index extends in a natural way to words. It is known that the bivariate generating polynomials for descents and major index over balanced words on the alphabet $[k]$ with $n$ occurrences each is palindromic, but a bijective proof has been missing even for balanced binary words. We give an explicit bijection proving this result. For permutations (which are also balanced), our bijection is different from the complementation map. We also show that for balanced binary words, this bijection simultaneously flips the ascent and comajor index as well.
Geometric Routing in Geometric Inhomogeneous Random Graphs
We present the first rigorous analysis of decentralized geometric routing in Geometric Inhomogeneous Random Graphs (GIRGs), a weight-agnostic variant of the greedy routing protocol. While greedy routing in GIRGs is known to explain the algorithmic small-world phenomenon by finding ultra-short paths of length $Θ(\log \log n)$, it assumes additional knowledge of vertex weights beyond geometry, an assumption that is often restrictive or unavailable. We investigate whether the underlying geometry alone is sufficient for efficient navigation. We prove that for power-law weight exponent $τ\in (2,3)$ and geometric decay parameter $α> τ- 1$, geometric routing succeeds with constant probability and finds ultra-short paths of length $Θ(\log \log n)$, matching the optimal asymptotic guarantees for greedy routing. Our analysis further reveals that, upon success, both protocols follow a similar two-phase trajectory, consisting of a rapid ascent to the heavy vertices, followed by efficient navigation to the target. These results demonstrate that, in the appropriate regime, the network's geometry alone implicitly guides the path to the target through its high-weight core.

Rooted bicubic planar maps via Dyck paths
We provide a combinatorial proof of Tutte's decomposition of rooted bicubic planar maps into 3-connected components. Motivated by the framework of Bell transformations, we establish an explicit bijection between rooted bicubic planar maps on $2n$ vertices and Dyck paths of semilength $3n$ with ascents of length divisible by 3, where each $3j$-ascent is colored using one of $g_j$ colors corresponding to the rooted 3-connected bicubic maps on $2j$ vertices. Our bijection gives a constructive method for assembling all rooted bicubic planar maps from their 3-connected building blocks. We give a simple proof for the fact that every 3-connected bicubic planar map on $2n$ vertices with $n \geq 4$ can be obtained from a smaller primitive map through just two insertion operations that add either 4 or 6 vertices. Finally, we briefly discuss rootings of 3-connected bicubic maps, providing lower bounds on the minimal number of rootings and showing that prism graphs can be used in combination with our insertion operations to generate maps with the maximum of $6n$ distinct rootings for all $n \geq 11$.

Simultaneous avoidance of length-4 patterns in ascent sequences
Ascent sequences form a central class of combinatorial objects, as they are in bijection with several important families such as (2+2)-free posets, Stoimenow matchings, and other Fishburn objects, and are enumerated by the Fishburn numbers. We study pattern avoidance in ascent sequences for the five patterns of length 4: $0101$, $0102$, $0112$, $0120$, and $0121$. These patterns arise naturally from recent work on pattern avoidance in related families of Fishburn objects, including Stoimenow matchings and (2+2)-free posets. We enumerate ascent sequences avoiding any subset of these patterns, with the exception of the sets $\{0120\}$, $\{0121\}$, and $\{0120,0121\}$, for which the enumeration remains open. Our results reveal that the corresponding avoidance classes fall into $16$ Wilf equivalence classes and exhibit a wide range of enumerative behaviour, including connections to classical sequences such as the Catalan and Fibonacci numbers, as well as polynomial formulas and rational generating functions; several of the sequences we obtain appear to be new. Our methods combine structural decompositions with generating-tree techniques and, in several cases, rely on reductions to shorter patterns via restricted growth functions. This work contributes to the broader study of pattern avoidance across Fishburn families and highlights further connections between ascent sequences and other combinatorial structures.

Lattice point enumeration of some arbor polytopes
The $n$-dimensional lattice polytopes $\mathcal{Q}_{n,k}$ obtained by intersecting the $n$th dilate of the standard $n$-dimensional simplex in $\mathbb{R}^n$ with the half-spaces $x_i \le 1$ for $1 \le i \le k$ form an interesting special case of Chapoton's arbor polytopes. They interpolate between the $n$th dilate of the standard $n$-dimensional simplex and the standard $n$-dimensional cube in $\mathbb{R}^n$. This paper provides an explicit combinatorial interpretation of the $h^\ast$-polynomial of $\mathcal{Q}_{n,k}$, as the ascent enumerator of certain words, and partly confirms some of Chapoton's conjectures on the lattice point enumeration of arbor polytopes in this special case. More specifically, the Ehrhart polynomial of $\mathcal{Q}_{n,k}$ is shown to be magic positive, by means of a new combinatorial parking model for cars, and the real-rootedness of its $h^\ast$-polynomial is deduced. The polynomial whose coefficients count the lattice points of $\mathcal{Q}_{n,k}$ by the number of their nonzero coordinates is shown to be gamma-positive and a combinatorial interpretation of the $h^\ast$-polynomial of any arbor polytope is conjectured.

Vertex operators, infinite wedge representations, and correlation functions of the t-Schur measure
We study the $t$-Schur measure on partitions, defined by $ \mathbb{P}(λ)=Z^{-1}S_λ(x;t)s_λ(y) $, where $S_λ(x;t)$ denotes the $t$-Schur symmetric functions and $s_λ(y)$ the ordinary Schur functions, and $Z$ is the normalising constant. Using vertex operator calculus, we realise $S_λ(x;t)$ in the charged free-fermion Fock space, yielding a $t$-deformation of the classical boson-fermion correspondence. These realisations give vertex-algebraic proofs of the $t$-Cauchy identities and $t$-Gessel identity. Building on this framework, we compute the correlation functions of the $t$-Schur measure and show that the associated point process is determinantal, with an explicit correlation kernel. The Poissonised $t$-Plancherel measure appears as a specialisation of our construction, so its correlation functions follow as a corollary. As an application, we derive the limiting distribution for the length of the longest ascent pair in a random permutation. Our results interpolate the Schur case at $t=0$, connect to the Schur-$Q$ theory at $t=-1$, and provide a probabilistic interpretation of a natural $t$-refinement of increasing subsequences via a generalised RSK correspondence.

On stable patterns and properties on permutations of multisets
In this paper, we study properties and patterns on permutations of multisets whose multivariate generating functions are symmetric. We interpret this phenomenon through the lens of group actions and define such a property or pattern as stable. We provide a complete characterization of stable classical patterns, showing that the only such patterns are those of length one or two. For consecutive patterns, we establish the stability of all monotone patterns and also identify a large class of unstable patterns. We conjecture that monotone patterns are the only stable consecutive patterns. All stability results in this paper are proven via explicit bijections, which provide new combinatorial interpretations of the symmetry of the generating functions. As an application, we use stability to derive recurrence relations for the ascent distribution on permutations of multisets, resulting in a generalization of Eulerian numbers.
On statistics of prime parking functions, Łukasiewicz paths, and quasisymmetric functions
We recall that a parking function of length $n+1$ is said to be prime if removing any instance of 1 yields a parking function of length $n$. In this article, we study prime parking functions from multiple lenses. We derive an explicit formula for the average value of the total displacement of prime parking functions. We present a formula for the displacement-enumerator of prime parking functions that involves a sum over Łukasiewicz paths. We describe the one-to-one correspondence between parking functions and labeledŁukasiewicz paths via Dyck paths. We introduce the concept of $\ell$-forward differences and use this as a vehicle for examining ties, ascents, and descents in prime parking functions. We establish a link between Schur functions corresponding to the partition $(i,1^{n-i})$ and fundamental quasisymmetric functions indexed by prime parking function tie sets of size $n-i.$

Inverse limits of various posets
It is known when we call a poset P, a $\mathcal{P}$-chain permutational poset, given a subset of permutations $\mathcal{P}$ of the symmetric group $S_{n}$. In this work, we use the same idea to study subsets of words of length $n$, that are not necessarily permutations, for example: especially when they are certain classes of restricted growth functions induced by set partitions in standard form over $[n]=\{1,2\cdots n\}$. Varying $n$ only, and also varying $n$ and $k$ (the number of blocks of the set partitions) simultaneously, we can show that those posets form a projective system of trees and lattices (after giving a lattice structure in a natural way). These poset structures can be extended over signed restricted growth functions for standard type B set partitions over $\langle n\rangle=\{-1,-2,\cdots n,0,1,2\cdots n\}$ as well. We investigate properties of the tree and lattice structures of these projective systems. In this scenario we further bring up some other posets like $\mathcal{P}$-Partition posets of snake graph of continued fractions, Ascent lattices on Dyck Paths, certain type of lattice induced by generalisec fibonnaci number and Stanley order, lattices induced by non-crossing set partitions.
Parking trees and the toric g-vector of nestohedra
We express the toric g-vector entries of any simple polytope as a nonnegative integer linear combination of its gamma-vector entries. Using this expression we obtain that the toric g-vector of the associahedron is the ascent statistic of 123-avoiding parking functions. An analogous result holds for the cyclohedron and 123-avoiding functions. We prove that the toric g-vector of the permutahedron records the ascent statistics of parking trees representing 123-avoiding parking functions. We indicate how our approach extends to all chordal nestohedra.

Parity patterns meet Genocchi numbers, I: four labelings and three bijections
Hetyei introduced in 2019 the homogenized Linial arrangement and showed that its regions are counted by the median Genocchi numbers. In the course of devising a different proof of Hetyei's result, Lazar and Wachs considered another hyperplane arrangement that is associated with certain bipartite graph called Ferrers graph. We bijectively label the regions of this latter arrangement with permutations whose ascents are subject to a parity restriction. This labeling not only establishes the equivalence between two enumerative results due to Hetyei and Lazar-Wachs, repectively, but also motivates us to derive and investigate a Seidel-like triangle that interweaves Genocchi numbers of both kinds. Applying similar ideas, we introduce three more variants of permutations with analogous parity restrictions. We provide labelings for regions of the aforementioned arrangement using these three sets of restricted permutations as well. Furthermore, bijections from our first permutation model to two previously known permutation models are established.
Distribution of statistics on separable permutations restricted by a flat POP
Finding distributions of statistics in pattern-avoiding permutations has attracted significant attention in the literature. In particular, Chen, Kitaev, and Zhang derived functional equations for the joint distributions of any subset of classical minima and maxima statistics, as well as for the joint distributions of ascents and descents in separable permutations. Meanwhile, partially ordered patterns (POPs) have also been extensively studied. Notably, so-called flat POPs played a key role, via the notion of shape-Wilf-equivalence, in proving a conjecture on pattern-avoiding permutations. In this paper, we study flat POP-avoiding separable permutations, where the maximum element in a flat POP receives the largest label. Avoiding such a POP imposes restrictions on the position of the maximum element in a separable permutation, forcing it to be positioned to the left. We establish a system of functional equations describing the joint distribution of six classical statistics in the most general case, extending the work of Chen, Kitaev, and Zhang. As a specialization, when the POP has length 3, we recover a joint distribution result of Han and Kitaev on permutations avoiding classical patterns of length 3. As another specialization, for the flat POP of length 4, we derive an explicit rational generating function that captures the distribution of six statistics, with a numerator containing 100 monomials and a denominator containing 19 monomials.
Restricted Jacobi permutations
Jacobi permutations, introduced by Viennot in the context of Jacobi elliptic functions, are counted by the Euler numbers $E_{n}$ appearing in the series expansion $\sec x+\tan x=\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}E_{n}x^{n}/n!$. We conduct a systematic study of pattern avoidance in Jacobi permutations, achieving a complete enumeration of Jacobi permutations avoiding a prescribed set of length 3 patterns. In the case of a single pattern restriction, we obtain refined enumerations with respect to several permutation statistics: the number of ascents (or descents), the number of left-to-right minima, and the last letter. Bijections involving certain subfamilies of binary trees and Dyck paths, as well as generating function techniques, play important roles in our proofs.

Catalan structures arising from pattern-avoiding Stoimenow matchings and other Fishburn objects
In connection with Vassiliev's knot invariants, Stoimenow introduced in 1998 a class of matchings, also known as regular linearized chord diagrams. These matchings are linked to various combinatorial structures, all of which are associated with the Fishburn numbers. In this paper, we address a problem posed by Bevan et~al.\ concerning the identification of subsets of Stoimenow matchings that are counted by the Catalan numbers. We present five solutions in terms of pattern-avoiding matchings. We also consider four infinite families of patterns that generalize four of the five forbidden patterns appearing in the solution to the problem we solved and prove that the matchings avoiding them are equinumerous. Finally, we establish numerous results on distributions and joint equidistribution of statistics over Catalan-counted subsets of Fishburn structures, namely Stoimenow matchings, $(2+2)$-free posets, ascent sequences, and Fishburn permutations, notably expressing some of them in terms of Narayana numbers and others in terms of ballot numbers.
Symmetric decompositions and Euler-Stirling statistics on Stirling permutations
The Stirling permutations introduced by Gessel-Stanley have recently received considerable attention. Motivated by Ji's work on $(α,β)$-Eulerian polynomials (Sci China Math., 2025) and Yan-Yang-Lin's work on $1/k$-Eulerian polynomials (J. Combin. Theory Ser. A, 2026), we present several symmetric decompositions of the enumerators related to Euler-Stirling statistics on Stirling permutations. Firstly, we provide a partial symmetric decomposition for the $1/k$-Eulerian polynomial. Secondly, we give several unexpected applications of the $(p,q)$-Eulerian polynomials, where $p$ marks the number of fixed points of permutations and $q$ marks that of cycles. From this paper, one can see that $(p,q)$-Eulerian polynomial contains a great deal of information about permutations and Stirling permutations. Using the change of grammars, we show that the $(α,β)$-Eulerian polynomials introduced by Carlitz-Scoville can be deduced from the $(p,q)$-Eulerian polynomials by special parametrizations. We then introduce proper and improper ascent-plateau statistics on Stirling permutations. Moreover, we introduce proper ascent, improper ascent, proper descent and improper descent statistics on permutations. Furthermore, we consider the joint distributions of Euler-Stirling statistics on permutations, including the numbers of improper ascents, proper ascents, left-to-right minima and right-to-left minina. In the final part, we first give a symmetric decomposition of the joint distribution of the ascent-plateau and left ascent-plateau statistics, and then we show that the $q$-ascent-plateau polynomials are bi-$γ$-positive, where $q$ marks the number of left-to-right minima.
