The splitting field $\mathbb{SF}(Γ)$ of a mixed graph $Γ$ is the smallest field extension of $\mathbb{Q}$ which contains all eigenvalues of the Hermitian adjacency matrix of $Γ$. The extension degree $[\mathbb{SF}(Γ):\mathbb{Q}]$ is called the algebraic degree of $Γ$. In this paper, we determine the splitting fields and algebraic degrees of mixed Cayley graphs over abelian groups. This generalizes the main results of [K. Mönius, Splitting fields of spectra of circulant graphs, J. Algebra 594(15) (2022) 154--169] and [M. Kadyan, B. Bhattacharjya, Integral mixed Cayley graphs over abelian groups, Electron. J. Combin. 28(4) (2021) \#P4.46].

Let $G$ be a generalized dicyclic group with identity $1$. An inverse closed subset $S$ of $G\setminus\{1\}$ is called minimal if $\langle S\rangle=G$ and there exists some $s\in S$ such that $\langle S\setminus\{s,s^{-1}\} \rangle\neq G$. In this paper, we characterize distance-regular Cayley graphs $\mathrm{Cay}(G,S)$ of $G$ under the condition that $S$ is minimal.

A $k$-tree is a spanning tree in which every vertex has degree at most $k$. In this paper, we provide a sufficient condition for the existence of a $k$-tree in a connected graph with fixed order in terms of the adjacency spectral radius and the signless Laplacian spectral radius, respectively. Also, we give a similar condition for the existence of a perfect matching in a balanced bipartite graph with fixed order and minimum degree.

Let $F_k$ denote the $k$-fan consisting of $k$ triangles which intersect in exactly one common vertex, and $S_{n,k}$ the complete split graph of order $n$ consisting of a clique on $k$ vertices and an independent set on the remaining vertices in which each vertex of the clique is adjacent to each vertex of the independent set. In this paper, it is shown that $S_{n,k}$ is the unique graph attaining the maximum signless Laplacian spectral radius among all graphs of order $n$ containing no $F_k$, provided that $k\geq 2$ and $n\geq 3k^2-k-2$.
The maximum spectral radius of wheel-free graphs

A wheel graph is a graph formed by connecting a single vertex to all vertices of a cycle. A graph is called wheel-free if it does not contain any wheel graph as a subgraph. In 2010, Nikiforov proposed a Brualdi-Solheid-Turán type problem: what is the maximum spectral radius of a graph of order $n$ that does not contain subgraphs of particular kind. In this paper, we study the Brualdi-Solheid-Turán type problem for wheel-free graphs, and we determine the maximum (signless Laplacian) spectral radius of a wheel-free graph of order $n$. Furthermore, we characterize the extremal graphs.

Let $α\in[0,1)$, and let $G$ be a graph of even order $n$ with $n\geq f(α)$, where $f(α)=10$ for $0\leq α\leq1/2$, $f(α)=14$ for $1/2<α\leq 2/3$ and $f(α)=5/(1-α)$ for $2/3<α<1$. In this paper, it is shown that if the $A_α$-spectral radius of $G$ is not less than the largest root of $x^3 - ((α+ 1)n +α-4)x^2 + (αn^2 + (α^2 - 2α- 1)n - 2α+1)x -α^2n^2 + (5α^2 - 3α+ 2)n - 10α^2 + 15α- 8=0$ then $G$ has a perfect matching unless $G=K_1\nabla(K_{n-3}\cup 2K_1)$. This generalizes a result of S. O [Spectral radius and matchings in graphs, Linear Algebra Appl. 614 (2021) 316--324], which gives a sufficient condition for the existence of a perfect matching in a graph in terms of the adjacency spectral radius.
Signless Laplacian eigenvalue problems of Nordhaus-Gaddum type
Let $G$ be a graph of order $n$, and let $q_1(G)\geq q_2(G)\geq\cdots\geq q_n(G)$ denote the signless Laplacian eigenvalues of $G$. Ashraf and Tayfeh-Rezaie [Electron. J. Combin. 21 (3) (2014) \#P3.6] showed that $q_1(G)+q_1(\overline{G})\leq 3n-4$, with equality holding if and only if $G$ or $\overline{G}$ is the star $K_{1,n-1}$. In this paper, we discuss the following problem: for $n\geq6$, does $q_2(G)+q_2(\overline{G})\leq 2n-5$ always hold? We provide positive answers to this problem for the graphs with disconnected complements and the bipartite graphs, and determine the graphs attaining the bound. Moreover, we show that $q_2(G)+q_2(\overline{G})\geq n-2$, and the extremal graphs are also characterized.

Let $n$, $k$ and $l$ be integers with $1\leq k<l\leq n-1$. The set-inclusion graph $G(n,k,l)$ is the graph whose vertex set consists of all $k$- and $l$-subsets of $[n]=\{1,2,\ldots,n\}$, where two distinct vertices are adjacent if one of them is contained in another. In this paper, we determine the spectrum and automorphism group of $G(n,k,l)$, respectively.

Let $Γ$ be a finite group acting transitively on $[n]=\{1,2,\ldots,n\}$, and let $G=\mathrm{Cay}(Γ,T)$ be a Cayley graph of $Γ$. The graph $G$ is called normal if $T$ is closed under conjugation. In this paper, we obtain an upper bound for the second (largest) eigenvalue of the adjacency matrix of the graph $G$ in terms of the second eigenvalues of certain subgraphs of $G$ (see Theorem 2.6). Using this result, we develop a recursive method to determine the second eigenvalues of certain Cayley graphs of $S_n$ and we determine the second eigenvalues of a majority of the connected normal Cayley graphs (and some of their subgraphs) of $S_n$ with $\max_{τ\in T}|\mathrm{supp}(τ)|\leq 5$, where $\mathrm{supp}(τ)$ is the set of points in $[n]$ non-fixed by $τ$.

The inertia of a graph $G$ is defined to be the triplet $In(G) = (p(G), n(G), $ $η(G))$, where $p(G)$, $n(G)$ and $η(G)$ are the numbers of positive, negative and zero eigenvalues (including multiplicities) of the adjacency matrix $A(G)$, respectively. Traditionally $p(G)$ (resp. $n(G)$) is called the positive (resp. negative) inertia index of $G$. In this paper, we introduce three types of congruent transformations for graphs that keep the positive inertia index and negative inertia index. By using these congruent transformations, we determine all graphs with exactly two positive eigenvalues and one zero eigenvalue.

Let $A_n$ denote the alternating group of degree $n$ with $n\geq 3$. The alternating group graph $AG_n$, extended alternating group graph $EAG_n$ and complete alternating group graph $CAG_n$ are the Cayley graphs $\mathrm{Cay}(A_n,T_1)$, $\mathrm{Cay}(A_n,T_2)$ and $\mathrm{Cay}(A_n,T_3)$, respectively, where $T_1=\{(1,2,i),(1,i,2)\mid 3\leq i\leq n\}$, $T_2=\{(1,i,j),(1,j,i)\mid 2\leq i<j\leq n\}$ and $T_3=\{(i,j,k),(i,k,j)\mid 1\leq i<j<k\leq n\}$. In this paper, we determine the second largest eigenvalues of $AG_n$, $EAG_n$ and $CAG_n$.

Let $G$ be a connected graph on $n$ vertices, and let $D(G)$ be the distance matrix of $G$. Let $\partial_1(G)\ge\partial_2(G)\ge\cdots\ge\partial_n(G)$ denote the eigenvalues of $D(G)$. In this paper, we characterize all connected graphs with $\partial_{3}(G)\leq -1$ and $\partial_{n-1}(G)\geq -2$. By the way, we determine all connected graphs with at most three distance eigenvalues different from $-1$ and $-2$.
On graphs with $m(\partial^L_1)=n-3$
Let $\partial^L_1\ge\partial^L_2\ge\cdots\ge\partial^L_n$ be the distance Laplacian eigenvalues of a connected graph $G$ and $m(\partial^L_i)$ the multiplicity of $\partial^L_i$. It is well known that the graphs with $m(\partial^L_1)=n-1$ are complete graphs. Recently, the graphs with $m(\partial^L_1)=n-2$ have been characterized by Celso et al. In this paper, we completely determine the graphs with $m(\partial^L_1)=n-3$.

Let $p$ be an odd prime, and $D_{2p}=\langle τ,σ\mid τ^p=σ^2=e,στσ=τ^{-1}\rangle$ the dihedral group of order $2p$. In this paper, we provide the number of (connected) Cayley (di-)graphs on $D_{2p}$ up to isomorphism by using the Pólya enumeration theorem. In the process, we also enumerate (connected) Cayley digraphs on $D_{2p}$ of out-degree $k$ up to isomorphism for each $k$.

Let $p$ be an odd prime, and $D_{2p}=\langle a,b\mid a^p=b^2=1,bab=a^{-1}\rangle$ the dihedral group of order $2p$. In this paper, we completely classify the cubic Cayley graphs on $D_{2p}$ up to isomorphism by means of spectral method. By the way, we show that two cubic Cayley graphs on $D_{2p}$ are isomorphic if and only if they are cospectral. Moreover, we obtain the number of isomorphic classes of cubic Cayley graphs on $D_{2p}$ by using Gauss' celebrated law of quadratic reciprocity.

Let $S_n$ denote the symmetric group of degree $n$ with $n\geq 3$. Set $S=\{c_n=(1\ 2\ldots \ n),c_n^{-1},(1\ 2)\}$. Let $Γ_n=\mathrm{Cay}(S_n,S)$ be the Cayley graph on $S_n$ with respect to $S$. In this paper, we show that $Γ_n$ ($n\geq 13$) is a normal Cayley graph, and that the full automorphism group of $Γ_n$ is equal to $\mathrm{Aut}(Γ_n)=R(S_n)\rtimes \langle\mathrm{Inn}(φ)\rangle\cong S_n\rtimes \mathbb{Z}_2$, where $R(S_n)$ is the right regular representation of $S_n$, $φ=(1\ 2)(3\ n)(4\ n-1)(5\ n-2)\cdots$ $(\in S_n)$, and $\mathrm{Inn}(φ)$ is the inner isomorphism of $S_n$ induced by $φ$.

In this paper, we completely characterize the graphs with third largest distance eigenvalue at most $-1$ and smallest distance eigenvalue at least $-3$. In particular, we determine all graphs whose distance matrices have exactly two eigenvalues (counting multiplicity) different from $-1$ and $-3$. It turns out that such graphs consist of three infinite classes, and all of them are determined by their distance spectra. We also show that the friendship graph is determined by its distance spectrum.

In this paper, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for the integrality of Cayley graphs over the dihedral group $D_n=\langle a,b\mid a^n=b^2=1,bab=a^{-1}\rangle$. Moreover, we also obtain some simple sufficient conditions for the integrality of Cayley graphs over $D_n$ in terms of the Boolean algebra of $\langle a\rangle$, from which we find infinite classes of integral Cayley graphs over $D_n$. In particular, we completely determine all integral Cayley graphs over the dihedral group $D_p$ for a prime $p$.
