On the spectral redundancy of pineapple graphs
In this article, we explore the concept of spectral redundancy within the class of pineapple graphs, denoted as $\mathcal{P}(α,β)$. These graphs are constructed by attaching $β$ pendent edges to a single vertex of a complete graph $K_α$. A connected graph $G$ earns the title of being spectrally non-redundant if the spectral radii of its connected induced subgraphs remain distinct. Spectral redundancy, on the other hand, arises when there is a repetition of spectral radii among the connected induced subgraphs within $G$. Specifically, we analyze the adjacency spectrum of $\mathcal{P}(α,β)$, revealing distinct eigenvalues including $0$, $-1$, and additional eigenvalues, some negative and others positive. Our investigation focuses on determining the spectral redundancy within this class of graphs, shedding light on their unique structural properties and implications for graph theory.

A signed graph product and its Application
A signed graph product is defined for a new product, and initially the unsigned graph product's Laplacian spectrum and signless Laplacian spectrum are found. Next, for the signed graph product, the adjacency spectrum, Laplacian spectrum, and signless Laplacian spectrum are found. In the end, we determined the prerequisite for the signed graph product to be integral and we also have generated a sequence of co-spectral signed graphs and a sequence of non-co-spectral equienergetic signed graphs.

The spectrum of the Corona of Hypergraphs
The corona of hypergraphs is an extension of the corona operation applied to graphs. The corona $G_0^* \odot_1^n G_1^*$ of two hypergraphs is obtained by taking $n$ copies of $G_1^*$ (where $n$ is the order of $G_0^*$) and by joining the $i$-th vertex of $G_0^*$ with the $i$-th copy of $G_1^*$. In this paper, we estimate the complete spectrum(adjacency and Seidel) and eigenvectors of the corona $G_0^* \odot_1^n G_1^*$ of two hypergraphs when $G_1^*$ is regular. Additionally, we define the corona hypergraph $G_0^{*(m)}=G_0^{*(m-1)} \odot_1^n G_0^*$ and determined its adjacency spectrum. Also, we extend the definition coronal of the adjacency matrix. Moreover, we estimate the characteristic polynomial of Seidel matrix of the generalised corona of hypergraphs. Applying these results, we obtain infinitely many non-regular non-isomorphic adjacency and Seidel cospectral hypergraphs.

On spectrum of corona product of duplication signed graph and its application
This paper introduces the concept of $μ$-signed and duplication signed graphs and shows that both are always structurally balanced. Using the duplication signed graph, we define the corona product of the duplication signed graph (Duplication add vertex corona product and duplication vertex corona product) and explore their structural properties. Additionally, we provide the adjacency spectrum of both the products for any $Γ_1$ and $Γ_2$, and the Laplacian and signless Laplacian spectrum for regular $Γ_1$ and arbitrary $Γ_2$, in terms of the corresponding spectrum of $Γ_1$ and $Γ_2$. Finally, we discuss its application in generating integral and equienergetic signed graphs.

On the eigenvalues and Seidel eigenvalues of chain graphs
In this paper we consider the eigenvalues and the Seidel eigenvalues of a chain graph. An$\dbar$elić, da Fonseca, Simić, and Du \cite{andelic2020tridiagonal} conjectured that there do not exist non-isomorphic cospectral chain graphs with respect to the adjacency spectrum. Here we disprove this conjecture. Furthermore, by considering the relation between the Seidel matrix and the adjacency matrix of a graph, we solve two problems on the number of distinct Seidel eigenvalues of a chain graph, which was posed by Mandal, Mehatari, and Das \cite{mandal2022spectrum}.

Given two signed graphs $Γ_1$ with nodes $\{u_1,u_2,\cdots,u_n\}$ and $Γ_2$, the neighbourhood corona, $Γ_1*Γ_2$ is the signed graph obtained by taking one copy of $Γ_1$ and $n_1$ copies of $Γ_2$, and joining every neighbour of the $i^{th}$ node with each nodes of the $i^{th}$ copy of $Γ_2$ by a new signed edge. In this paper we will determine the condition for $Γ_1*Γ_2$ to be balanced. We also determine the adjacency spectrum of $Γ_1*Γ_2$ for arbitrary $Γ_1$ and $Γ_2$, and Laplacian and signless Laplacian spectrum of $Γ_1*Γ_2$ for regular $Γ_1$ and arbitrary $Γ_2$, in terms of the corresponding spectrum of $Γ_1$ and $Γ_2$.

New constructions of non-regular cospectral graphs
We consider two types of joins of graphs $G_{1}$ and $G_{2}$, $G_{1}\veebar G_{2}$ - the Neighbors Splitting Join and $G_{1}\underset{=}{\lor}G_{2}$ - the Non Neighbors Splitting Join, and compute the adjacency characteristic polynomial, the Laplacian characteristic polynomial and the signless Laplacian characteristic polynomial of these joins. When $G_{1}$ and $G_{2}$ are regular, we compute the adjacency spectrum, the Laplacian spectrum, the signless Laplacian spectrum of $G_{1}\underset{=}{\lor}G_{2}$ and the normalized Laplacian spectrum of $G_{1}\veebar G_{2}$ and $G_{1}\underset{=}{\lor}G_{2}$. We use these results to construct non regular, non isomorphic graphs that are cospectral with respect to the four matrices: adjacency, Laplacian , signless Laplacian and normalized Laplacian.

Universal adjacency spectrum of (proper) power graphs and their complements on some groups
The power graph $\mathscr{P}(G)$ of a group $G$ is an undirected graph with all the elements of $G$ as vertices and where any two vertices $u$ and $v$ are adjacent if and only if $u=v^m $ or $v=u^m$, $ m \in$ $\mathbb{Z}$. For a simple graph $H$ with adjacency matrix $A(H)$ and degree diagonal matrix $D(H)$, the universal adjacency matrix is $U(H)= αA(H)+βD(H)+ γI +ηJ$, where $α(\neq 0), β, γ, η\in \mathbb{R}$, $I$ is the identity matrix and $J$ is the all-ones matrix of suitable order. One can study many graph-associated matrices, such as adjacency, Laplacian, signless Laplacian, Seidel etc. in a unified manner through the universal adjacency matrix of a graph. Here we study universal adjacency eigenvalues and eigenvectors of power graphs, proper power graphs and their complements on the group $\mathbb{Z}_n$, dihedral group ${D}_n$, and the generalized quaternion group ${Q}_n$. Spectral results of no kind for the complement of power graph on any group were obtained before. We determine the full spectrum in some particular cases. Moreover, several existing results can be obtained as very specific cases of some results of the paper.
Spectra of s-neighbourhood corona of two signed graphs
A signed graph $S=(G, σ)$ is a pair in which $G$ is an underlying graph and $σ$ is a function from the edge set to $\{\pm1\}$. For signed graphs $S_{1}$ and $S_{2}$ on $n_{1}$ and $n_{2}$ vertices, respectively, the signed neighbourhood corona $S_{1} \star_s S_{2}$ (in short s-neighbourhood corona) of $S_{1}$ and $S_{2}$ is the signed graph obtained by taking one copy of $S_{1}$ and $n_{1}$ copies of $S_{2}$ and joining every neighbour of the $i$th vertex of $S_{1}$ with the same sign as the sign of incident edge to every vertex in the $i$th copy of $S_{2}$. In this paper, we investigate the adjacency, Laplacian and net Laplacian spectrum of $S_{1} \star_s S_{2}$ in terms of the corresponding spectrum of $ S_{1}$ and $ S_{2}$. We determine $(i)$ the adjacency spectrum of $S_{1} \star_s S_{2}$ for arbitrary $S_{1} $ and net regular $ S_{2}$, $(ii)$ the Laplacian spectrum for regular $S_{1} $ and regular and net regular $ S_{2}$ and $(iii)$ the net Laplacian spectrum for net regular $S_{1} $ and arbitrary $ S_{2}$. As a consequence, we obtain the signed graphs with $4$ and $5$ distinct adjacency, Laplacian and net Laplacian eigenvalues. Finally, we show that the signed neighbourhood corona of two signed graphs is not determined by its adjacency (resp., Laplacian, net Laplacian) spectrum.
On the divisibility of H-shape trees and their spectral determination
A graph $G$ is divisible by a graph $H$ if the characteristic polynomial of $G$ is divisible by that of $H$. In this paper, a necessary and sufficient condition for recursive graphs to be divisible by a path is used to show that the H-shape graph $P_{2,2;n-4}^{2,n-7}$, known to be (for $n$ large enough) the minimizer of the spectral radius among the graphs of order $n$ and diameter $n-5$, is determined by its adjacency spectrum if and only if $n \neq 10,13,15$.

Adjacency Spectrum and Wiener Index of the Essential Ideal Graph of a Finite Commutative Ring $\mathbb{Z}_{n}$
Let $R$ be a commutative ring with unity. The essential ideal graph $\mathcal{E}_{R}$ of $R$, is a graph with a vertex set consisting of all nonzero proper ideals of \textit{R} and two vertices $I$ and $K$ are adjacent if and only if $I+ K$ is an essential ideal. In this paper, we study the adjacency spectrum of the essential ideal graph of the finite commutative ring $\mathbb{Z}_{n}$, for $n=\{p^{m}, p^{m_{1}}q^{m_{2}}\}$, where $p,q$ are distinct primes, and $m,m_{1}, m_2\in \mathbb N$. We show that $0$ is an eigenvalue of the adjacency matrix of $\mathcal{E}_{\mathbb{Z}_{n}}$ if and only if either $n= p^2$ or $n$ is not a product of distinct primes. We also determine all the eigenvalues of the adjacency matrix of $\mathcal{E}_{\mathbb{Z}_{n}}$ whenever $n$ is a product of three or four distinct primes. Moreover, we calculate the topological indices, namely the Wiener index and hyper-Wiener index of the essential ideal graph of $\mathbb{Z}_{n}$ for different forms of $n$

On adjacency and Laplacian cospectral non-isomorphic signed graphs
Published • View PublicationBIB
Let $Γ=(G,σ)$ be a signed graph, where $σ$ is the sign function on the edges of $G$. In this paper, we use the operation of partial transpose to obtain non-isomorphic Laplacian cospectral signed graphs. We will introduce two new operations on signed graphs. These operations will establish a relationship between the adjacency spectrum of one signed graph with the Laplacian spectrum of another signed graph. As an application, these new operations will be utilized to construct several pairs of cospectral non-isomorphic signed graphs. Finally, we construct integral signed graphs.

Spectra of new graph operations based on central graph
In this paper, we introduce central vertex corona, central edge corona, and central edge neighborhood corona of graphs using central graph. Also, we determine their adjacency spectrum, Laplacian spectrum and signless Laplacian spectrum. From our results, it is possible to obtain infinitely many pairs of adjacency (respectively, Laplacian and signless Laplacian) cospectral graphs. As an application, we calculate the number of spanning trees and the Kirchhoff index of the resulting graphs.

The spectra of digraphs with Morita equivalent $C^\ast$-algebras
Published in Linear Algebra and its Applications 655 (2022) 28--64 • View PublicationBIB
Eilers et al. have recently completed the geometric classification of unital graph $C^\ast$-algebras up to Morita equivalence using a set of moves on the corresponding digraphs. We explore the question of whether these moves preserve the nonzero elements of the spectrum of a finite digraph, which in this paper is allowed to have loops and parallel edges. We consider several different digraph spectra that have been studied in the literature, answering this question for the Laplace and adjacency spectra, their skew counterparts, the symmetric adjacency spectrum, the adjacency spectrum of the line digraph, the Hermitian adjacency spectrum, and the normalized Laplacian, considering in most cases two ways that these spectra can be defined in the presence of parallel edges. We show that the adjacency spectra of the digraph and line digraph are preserved by a subset of the moves, and the skew adjacency and Laplace spectra are preserved by the Cuntz splice. We give counterexamples to show that the other spectra are not preserved by the remaining moves. The same results hold if one restricts to the class of strongly connected digraphs.

On a version of the spectral excess theorem
Given a regular (connected) graph $Γ=(X,E)$ with adjacency matrix $A$, $d+1$ distinct eigenvalues, and diameter $D$, we give a characterization of when its distance matrix $A_D$ is a polynomial in $A$, in terms of the adjacency spectrum of $Γ$ and the arithmetic (or harmonic) mean of the numbers of vertices at distance $\le D-1$ of every vertex. The same results is proved for any graph by using its Laplacian matrix $L$ and corresponding spectrum. When $D=d$ we reobtain the spectral excess theorem characterizing distance-regular graphs.

On the Spectrum of Finite, Rooted Homogeneous Trees
In this paper we study the adjacency spectrum of families of finite rooted trees with regular branching properties. In particular, we show that in the case of constant branching, the eigenvalues are realized as the roots of a family of generalized Fibonacci polynomials and produce a limiting distribution for the eigenvalues as the tree depth goes to infinity. We indicate how these results can be extended to periodic branching patterns and also provide a generalization to higher order simplicial complexes.
Complete multipartite graphs that are determined, up to switching, by their Seidel spectrum
Published in Linear Algebra and its Applications 2019 • View PublicationBIB
It is known that complete multipartite graphs are determined by their distance spectrum but not by their adjacency spectrum. The Seidel spectrum of a graph $G$ on more than one vertex does not determine the graph, since any graph obtained from $G$ by Seidel switching has the same Seidel spectrum. We consider $G$ to be determined by its Seidel spectrum, up to switching, if any graph with the same spectrum is switching equivalent to a graph isomorphic to $G$. It is shown that any graph which has the same spectrum as a complete $k$-partite graph is switching equivalent to a complete $k$-partite graph, and if the different partition sets sizes are $p_1,\ldots, p_l$, and there are at least three partition sets of each size $p_i$, $i=1,\ldots, l$, then $G$ is determined, up to switching, by its Seidel spectrum. Sufficient conditions for a complete tripartite graph to be determined by its Seidel spectrum are discussed, and a conjecture is made on complete tripartite graphs on more than 18 vertices.

On the spectral characterization of mixed extensions of $P_3$
Published • View PublicationBIB
A mixed extension of a graph $G$ is a graph $H$ obtained from $G$ by replacing each vertex of $G$ by a clique or a coclique, whilst two vertices in $H$ corresponding to distinct vertices $x$ and $y$ of $G$ are adjacent whenever $x$ and $y$ are adjacent in $G$. If $G$ is the path $P_3$, then $H$ has at most three adjacency eigenvalues unequal to $0$ and $-1$. Recently, the first author classified the graphs with the mentioned eigenvalue property. Using this classification we investigate mixed extension of $P_3$ on being determined by the adjacency spectrum. We present several cospectral families, and with the help of a computer we find all graphs on at most $25$ vertices that are cospectral with a mixed extension of $P_3$.

Maximum and minimum nullity of a tree degree sequence
The nullity of a graph is the multiplicity of the eigenvalue zero in its adjacency spectrum. In this paper, we give a closed formula for the minimum and maximum nullity among trees with the same degree sequence, using the notion of matching number and annihilation number. Algorithms for constructing such minimum-nullity and maximum-nullity trees are described.

Anti-regular graphs with loops and their spectrum
We characterize the graphs with loops whose degree sequences have no repeated values and find their adjacency spectrum. In the case of simple graphs, such graphs are called anti-regular graphs and are examples of threshold graphs. The spectrum is found by using the known relationship between tridiagonal matrices and orthogonal polynomials.
