Recursions and characteristic polynomials of the Rows of the Circuit Array
The 2022 Fibonacci Conference held in Sarajevo introduced the Circuit Array, a two-dimensional array associated with the resistance labels of electrical circuits whose underlying graph when embedded in the Cartesian plane has the form of a triangular n-grid. The presentation used row reduction, a computational method alternative to the traditional method using the Laplacian. The presentation explored reconsidering the Circuit Array in terms of polynomials instead of numbers as a means to facilitate finding patterns. The present paper shows the fruitfulness of this approach. The main result of the current paper states that the characteristic polynomials corresponding to the recursions of single or multi-variable polynomial formulations of the Circuit Array exclusively have powers of 9 as roots. The proof methodology uses the approach of annihilators. Several initial cases and one major sub-case are proven.
The Lefschetz property for an algebra defined by matchings
In this article, we consider the weighted generating function of matchings in the complete graph. We define an Artinian Gorenstein algebra as the quotient ring of a polynomial ring by the annihilator of the generating function. We show the strong Lefschetz property of the algebra.
Expansivity and periodicity in algebraic subshifts
A d-dimensional configuration c : Z^d -> A is a coloring of the d-dimensional infinite grid by elements of a finite alphabet A \subseteq Z. The configuration c has an annihilator if a non-trivial linear combination of finitely many translations of c is the zero configuration. Writing c as a d-variate formal power series, the annihilator is conveniently expressed as a d-variate Laurent polynomial f whose formal product with c is the zero power series. More generally, if the formal product is a strongly periodic configuration, we call the polynomial f a periodizer of c. A common annihilator (periodizer) of a set of configurations is called an annihilator (periodizer, respectively) of the set. In particular, we consider annihilators and periodizers of d-dimensional subshifts, that is, sets of configurations defined by disallowing some local patterns. We show that a (d-1)-dimensional linear subspace S \subseteq R^d is expansive for a subshift if the subshift has a periodizer whose support contains exactly one element of S. As a subshift is known to be finite if all (d-1)-dimensional subspaces are expansive, we obtain a simple necessary condition on the periodizers that guarantees finiteness of a subshift or, equivalently, strong periodicity of a configuration. We provide examples in terms of tilings of Z^d by translations of a single tile.
On forced periodicity of perfect colorings
We study forced periodicity of two-dimensional configurations under certain constraints and use an algebraic approach to multidimensional symbolic dynamics in which $d$-dimensional configurations and finite patterns are presented as formal power series and Laurent polynomials, respectively, in $d$ variables. We consider perfect colorings that are configurations such that the number of points of a given color in the neighborhood of any point depends only on the color of the point for some fixed relative neighborhood, and we show that by choosing the alphabet suitably any perfect coloring has a non-trivial annihilator, that is, there exists a Laurent polynomial whose formal product with the power series presenting the perfect coloring is zero. Using known results we obtain a sufficient condition for forced periodicity of two-dimensional perfect colorings. As corollaries of this result we get simple new proofs for known results of forced periodicity on the square and the triangular grids. Moreover, we obtain a new result concerning forced periodicity of perfect colorings in the king grid. We also consider perfect colorings of a particularly simple type: configurations that have low abelian complexity with respect to some shape, and we generalize a result that gives a sufficient condition for such configurations to be necessarily periodic. Also, some algorithmic aspects are considered.

The essential annihilating-ideal graph $\mathcal{EG}(R)$ of a commutative unital ring $R$ is a simple graph whose vertices are non-zero ideals of $R$ with non-zero annihilator and there exists an edge between two distinct vertices $I,J$ if and only if $Ann(IJ)$ has a non-zero intersection with any non-zero ideal of $R$. In this paper, we show that $\mathcal{EG}(R)$ is weakly perfect, if $R$ is Noetherian and an explicit formula for the clique number of $\mathcal{EG}(R)$ is given. Moreover, the structures of all rings whose essential annihilating-ideal graphs have chromatic number $2$ are fully determined. Among other results, twin-free clique number and edge chromatic number of $\mathcal{EG}(R)$ are examined.

The classical BKK theorem computes the intersection number of divisors on toric variety in terms of volumes of corresponding polytopes. It was observed by Pukhlikov and the first author that the BKK theorem leads to a presentation of the cohomology ring of toric variety as a quotient of the ring of differential operators with constant coefficients by the annihilator of an explicit polynomial.
In this paper we generalize this construction to the case of quasitoric bundles. These are fiber bundles with generalized quasitoric manifolds as fibers. First we obtain a generalization of the BKK theorem to this case. Then we use recently obtained descriptions of the graded-commutative algebras which satisfy Poincaré duality to give a description of cohomology rings of quasitoric bundles.
Annihilators and associated varieties of Harish-Chandra modules for $SO^*(2n)$
Given a simple Harish-Chandra module for this group of trivial infinitesimal character, parametrized by a signed involution, we produce combinatorial recipes for attaching to it a pair of tableaux from which its annihilator and associated variety can be read off.

The annihilating-ideal graph of a commutative ring $R$ with unity is defined as the graph $\mathbb{AG}(R)$ with the vertex set is the set of all non-zero ideals with non-zero annihilators and two distinct vertices $I$ and $J$ are adjacent if and only if $IJ = 0$. Nikandish {\it et.al.} proved that $\mathbb{AG}(\mathbb{Z}_n)$ is weakly perfect. In this short paper, we characterize $n$ for which $\mathbb{AG}(\mathbb{Z}_n)$ is perfect.
On Configurations of Order 2
Let $c:\mathbb Z^2\to \{0, 1\}$ be a configuration with a non-trivial annihilator. We show that if $c$ is weakly periodic then the directions of periodicity in a minimal weakly periodic decomposition of $c$ can be detected from the annihilator ideal associated to $c$. We show that the order of a weakly periodic configuration is same as the number of components in any minimal decomposition into $1$-periodic elements. We then give an upper bound on the order in terms of the support of any of its annihilators. In the special case of tilings this gives an upper bound on the order of any tiling in terms of a geometric quantity associated to the tile. We prove that if $c:\mathbb Z^2\to \{0, 1\}$ is a configuration having a non-trivial annihilator and has order $2$ then it can be written as a sum of two $1$-periodic configurations valued in $\{0, 1\}$. Lastly we show that any tiling of $\mathbb Z^2$ by a tile of cardinality the square of a prime has a point of order at most $2$ in its orbit closure.
On the structure of modules over walled Brauer algebra via normal form and random walks
We analyze cyclic cell modules over walled Brauer algebra in terms of a certain normal form. The latter allows us to decompose the algebra into the generating set and annihilator ideal of a certain cyclic vector. In addition, we show that the numbers of reduced basis monomials of given length coincide with those for the symmetric group. For the semisimple case we utilize the theory of differential posets to calculate the dimensions of modules in terms of the paths in Bratelli diagram. It turns out that the number of primitive idempotents is the same as for the symmetric group.

Let $R$ be a commutative ring with identity and $\Bbb A (R)$ be the set of ideals of $R$ with non-zero annihilator. The annihilator-ideal graph of $R$, denoted by $A_{I} (R) $, is a simple graph with the vertex set $\Bbb A(R)^{\ast} := \Bbb A (R) \setminus\lbrace (0) \rbrace $, and two distinct vertices $I$ and $J$ are adjacent if and only if $\mathrm{Ann} _{R} (IJ) \neq \mathrm{Ann} _{R} (I) \cup \mathrm{Ann} _{R} (J)$.
In this paper, we study the affinity between the annihilator-ideal graph and the annihilating-ideal graph $\Bbb A \Bbb G (R)$ (a well-known graph with the same vertices and two distinct vertices $I,J$ are adjacent if and only if $IJ=0$) associated with $R$. All rings whose $A_{I}(R) \neq \Bbb A \Bbb G (R)$ and $\mathrm{gr} (A_{I}(R)) =4$ are characterized. Among other results, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions under which $A_{I} (R)$ is a star graph.

Let $R$ be a commutative ring with identity, and let $Z(R)$ be the set of zero-divisors of $R$. The annihilator graph of $R$ is defined as the undirected graph $AG(R)$ with the vertex set $Z(R)^*=Z(R)\setminus\{0\}$, and two distinct vertices $x$ and $y$ are adjacent if and only if $ann_R(xy)\neq ann_R(x)\cup ann_R(y)$. In this paper, all rings whose annihilator graphs can be embed on the plane or torus are classified.
An Algebraic Geometric Approach to Nivat's Conjecture
We study multidimensional configurations (infinite words) and subshifts of low pattern complexity using tools of algebraic geometry. We express the configuration as a multivariate formal power series over integers and investigate the setup when there is a non-trivial annihilating polynomial: a non-zero polynomial whose formal product with the power series is zero. Such annihilator exists, for example, if the number of distinct patterns of some finite shape $D$ in the configuration is at most the size $|D|$ of the shape. This is our low pattern complexity assumption. We prove that the configuration must be a sum of periodic configurations over integers, possibly with unbounded values. As a specific application of the method we obtain an asymptotic version of the well-known Nivat's conjecture: we prove that any two-dimensional, non-periodic configuration can satisfy the low pattern complexity assumption with respect to only finitely many distinct rectangular shapes $D$.

In this paper, we investigate properties of modules introduced by Kraśkiewicz and Pragacz which realize Schubert polynomials as their characters. In particular, we give some characterizations of modules having a filtration by Kraśkiewicz-Pragacz modules. In finding criteria for filtrations, we calculate generating sets for the annihilator ideals of the lowest vectors in Kraśkiewicz-Pragacz modules, and derive a projectivity result concerning Kraśkiewicz-Pragacz modules.

In this paper we study some of the basic properties of a graph which is constructed from the equivalence classes of non-zero zero-divisors determined by annihilator ideals of a poset. In particular, we demonstrate how this graph helps in identifying the annihilator prime ideals of a poset that satisfies the ascending chain condition for its proper annihilator ideals.

The SL_3 colored Jones polynomial of the trefoil knot is a $q$-holonomic sequence of two variables with natural origin, namely quantum topology. The paper presents an explicit set of generators for the annihilator ideal of this $q$-holonomic sequence as a case study. On the one hand, our results are new and useful to quantum topology: this is the first example of a rank 2 Lie algebra computation concerning the colored Jones polynomial of a knot. On the other hand, this work illustrates the applicability and computational power of the employed computer algebra methods.
Exterior depth and exterior generic annihilator numbers
We study the exterior depth of an $E$-module and its exterior generic annihilator numbers. For the exterior depth of a squarefree $E$-module we show how it relates to the symmetric depth of the corresponding $S$-module and classify those simplicial complexes having a particular exterior depth in terms of their exterior shifting. We define exterior annihilator numbers analogously to the annihilator numbers over the polynomial ring introduced by Trung and Conca, Herzog and Hibi. In addition to a combinatorial interpretation of the annihilator numbers we show how they are related to the symmetric Betti numbers and the Cartan-Betti numbers, respectively. We finally conclude with an example which shows that neither the symmetric nor the exterior generic annihilator numbers are minimal among the annihilator numbers with respect to a sequence.

The purpose of this paper is to find a new way to prove the $n!$ conjecture for particular partitions. The idea is to construct a monomial and explicit basis for the space $M_μ$. We succeed completely for hook-shaped partitions, i.e., $μ=(K+1,1^L)$. We are able to exhibit a basis and to verify that its cardinality is indeed $n!$, that it is linearly independent and that it spans $M_μ$. We derive from this study an explicit and simple basis for $I_μ$, the annihilator ideal of $Δ_μ$. This method is also successful for giving directly a basis for the homogeneous subspace of $M_μ$ consisting of elements of 0 $x$-degree.
