Given a measurable set $A\subset \mathbb R^d$ we consider the "large-distance graph" $\mathcal{G}_A$, on the ground set $A$, in which each pair of points from $A$ whose distance is bigger than 2 forms an edge. We consider the problems of maximizing the $2d$-dimensional Lebesgue measure of the edge set as well as the $d$-dimensional Lebesgue measure of the vertex set of a large-distance graph in the $d$-dimensional Euclidean space that contains no copies of a complete graph on $k$ vertices. The former problem may be seen as a continuous analogue of Turán's classical graph theorem, and the latter as a graph-theoretic analogue of the classical isodiametric problem. Our main result yields an analogue of Mantel's theorem for large-distance graphs. Our approach employs an isodiametric inequality in an annulus, which might be of independent interest.
On the size of $(K_t,\mathcal{T}_k)$-co-critical graphs
Given an integer $r\ge1$ and graphs $G, H_1, \ldots, H_r$, we write $G \rightarrow ({H}_1, \ldots, {H}_r)$ if every $r$-coloring of the edges of $G$ contains a monochromatic copy of $H_i$ in color $i$ for some $i\in\{1, \ldots, r\}$. A non-complete graph $G$ is $(H_1, \ldots, H_r)$-co-critical if $G \nrightarrow ({H}_1, \ldots, {H}_r)$, but $G+e\rightarrow ({H}_1, \ldots, {H}_r)$ for every edge $e$ in $\overline{G}$. In this paper, motivated by Hanson and Toft's conjecture [Edge-colored saturated graphs, J Graph Theory 11(1987), 191--196], we study the minimum number of edges over all $(K_t, \mathcal{T}_k)$-co-critical graphs on $n$ vertices, where $\mathcal{T}_k$ denotes the family of all trees on $k$ vertices. Following Day [Saturated graphs of prescribed minimum degree, Combin. Probab. Comput. 26 (2017), 201--207], we apply graph bootstrap percolation on a not necessarily $K_t$-saturated graph to prove that for all $t\ge4 $ and $k\ge \max\{6, t\}$, there exists a constant $c(t, k)$ such that, for all $n \ge (t-1)(k-1)+1$, if $G$ is a $(K_t, \mathcal{T}_k)$-co-critical graph on $n$ vertices, then $$ e(G)\ge \left(\frac{4t-9}{2}+\frac{1}{2}\left\lceil \frac{k}{2} \right\rceil\right)n-c(t, k).$$ Furthermore, this linear bound is asymptotically best possible when $t\in\{4,5\}$ and $k\ge6$. The method we develop in this paper may shed some light on attacking Hanson and Toft's conjecture.
Latin cubes of even order with forbidden entries
We consider the problem of constructing Latin cubes subject to the condition that some symbols may not appear in certain cells. We prove that there is a constant $γ> 0$ such that if $n=2t$ and $A$ is a $3$-dimensional $n\times n\times n$ array where every cell contains at most $γn$ symbols, and every symbol occurs at most $γn$ times in every line of $A$, then $A$ is {\em avoidable}; that is, there is a Latin cube $L$ of order $n$ such that for every $1\leq i,j,k\leq n$, the symbol in position $(i,j,k)$ of $L$ does not appear in the corresponding cell of $A$.
The Turán number of blow-ups of trees
A conjecture of Erdős from 1967 asserts that any graph on $n$ vertices which does not contain a fixed $r$-degenerate bipartite graph $F$ has at most $Cn^{2-1/r}$ edges, where $C$ is a constant depending only on $F$. We show that this bound holds for a large family of $r$-degenerate bipartite graphs, including all $r$-degenerate blow-ups of trees. Our results generalise many previously proven cases of the Erdős conjecture, including the related results of Füredi and Alon, Krivelevich and Sudakov. Our proof uses supersaturation and a random walk on an auxiliary graph.
Turán numbers of Berge trees
A classical conjecture of Erdős and Sós asks to determine the Turán number of a tree. We consider variants of this problem in the settings of hypergraphs and multi-hypergraphs. In particular, for all $k$ and $r$, with $r \ge k (k-2)$, we show that any $r$-uniform hypergraph $\mathcal{H}$ with more than $\frac{n(k-1)}{r+1}$ hyperedges contains a Berge copy of any tree with $k$ edges different from the $k$-edge star. This bound is sharp when $r+1$ divides $n$ and for such values of $n$ we determine the extremal hypergraphs.

Under what circumstances might every extension of a combinatorial structure contain more copies of another one than the original did? This property, which we call prolificity, holds universally in some cases (e.g., finite linear orders) and only trivially in others (e.g., permutations). Integer compositions, or equivalently layered permutations, provide a middle ground. In that setting, there are prolific compositions for a given pattern if and only if that pattern begins and ends with 1. For each pattern, there is an easily constructed automaton that recognises prolific compositions for that pattern. Some instances where there is a unique minimal prolific composition for a pattern are classified.

We prove that for all natural numbers $m$ and $k$ where $k$ is odd, there exists a natural number $N(k)$ such that any 3-connected cubic graph with at least $N(k)$ vertices contains a cycle of length $m$ modulo $k$. We also construct a family of graphs showing that this is not true for 2-connected cubic graphs if $m$ and $k$ are divisible by 3 and $k\geq 12$.
On the sizes of large subgraphs of the binomial random graph
We consider the binomial random graph $G(n,p)$, where $p$ is a constant, and answer the following two questions.
First, given $e(k)=p{k\choose 2}+O(k)$, what is the maximum $k$ such that a.a.s.~the binomial random graph $G(n,p)$ has an induced subgraph with $k$ vertices and $e(k)$ edges? We prove that this maximum is not concentrated in any finite set (in contrast to the case of a small $e(k)$). Moreover, for every constant $C>0$ and every $ω_n\to\infty$, a.a.s.~the size of the concentration set belongs to $(C\sqrt{n/\ln n},ω_n\sqrt{n/\ln n})$.
Second, given $k>\varepsilon n$, what is the maximum $μ$ such that a.a.s.~the set of sizes of $k$-vertex subgraphs of $G(n,p)$ contains a full interval of length $μ$? The answer is $μ=Θ\left(\sqrt{(n-k)n\ln{n\choose k}}\right)$.

We say that two graphs on the same vertex set are $G$-creating if their union (the union of their edges) contains $G$ as a subgraph. Let $H_n(G)$ be the maximum number of pairwise $G$-creating Hamiltonian paths of $K_n$. Cohen, Fachini and Körner proved \[n^{\frac{1}{2}n-o(n)}\leq H_n(C_4) \leq n^{\frac{3}{4}n+o(n)}.\] In this paper we close the superexponential gap between their lower and upper bounds by proving \[n^{\frac{1}{2}n-\frac{1}{2}\frac{n}{\log{n}}-O(1)}\leq H_n(C_4) \leq n^{\frac{1}{2}n+o\left(\frac{n}{\log{n}} \right)}.\] We also improve the previously established upper bounds on $H_n(C_{2k})$ for $k>3$, and we present a small improvement on the lower bound of Füredi, Kantor, Monti and Sinaimeri on the maximum number of so-called pairwise reversing permutations. One of our main tools is a theorem of Krivelevich, which roughly states that (certain kinds of) good expanders contain many Hamiltonian paths.
Minimum degree conditions for the existence of cycles of all lengths modulo $k$ in graphs
Thomassen, in 1983, conjectured that for a positive integer $k$, every $2$-connected non-bipartite graph of minimum degree at least $k + 1$ contains cycles of all lengths modulo $k$. In this paper, we settle this conjecture affirmatively.
The Hamiltonicity, Hamiltonian Connectivity, and Longest (s, t)-path of L-shaped Supergrid Graphs
Supergrid graphs contain grid graphs and triangular grid graphs as their subgraphs. The Hamiltonian cycle and path problems for general supergrid graphs were known to be NP-complete. A graph is called Hamiltonian if it contains a Hamiltonian cycle, and is said to be Hamiltonian connected if there exists a Hamiltonian path between any two distinct vertices in it. In this paper, we first prove that every L-shaped supergrid graph always contains a Hamiltonian cycle except one trivial condition. We then verify the Hamiltonian connectivity of L-shaped supergrid graphs except few conditions. The Hamiltonicity and Hamiltonian connectivity of L-shaped supergrid graphs can be applied to compute the minimum trace of computerized embroidery machine and 3D printer when a L-like object is printed. Finally, we present a linear-time algorithm to compute the longest (s, t)-path of L-shaped supergrid graph given two distinct vertices s and t.

In a proper edge-coloring of a cubic graph an edge $uv$ is called poor or rich, if the set of colors of the edges incident to $u$ and $v$ contains exactly three or five colors, respectively. An edge-coloring of a graph is normal, if any edge of the graph is either poor or rich. In this note, we show that some snarks constructed by using a method introduced by Loupekhine admit a normal edge-coloring with five colors. The existence of a Berge-Fulkerson Covering for a part of the snarks considered in this paper was recently proved by Manuel and Shanthi (2015). Since the existence of a normal edge-coloring with five colors implies the existence of a Berge-Fulkerson Covering, our main theorem can be viewed as a generalization of their result.
Perfect digraphs
Let $D$ be a digraph. Given a set of vertices $S \subseteq V(D)$, an $S$-path partition $\mathcal{P}$ of $D$ is a collection of paths of $D$ such that $\{V(P) \colon P \in \mathcal{P}\}$ is a partition of $V(D)$ and $|V(P) \cap S| = 1$ for every $P \in \mathcal{P}$. We say that $D$ satisfies the $α$-property if, for every maximum stable set $S$ of $D$, there exists an $S$-path partition of $D$, and we say that $D$ is $α$-diperfect if every induced subdigraph of $D$ satisfies the $α$-property. A digraph $C$ is an anti-directed odd cycle if (i) the underlying graph of $C$ is a cycle $x_1x_2 \cdots x_{2k + 1}x_1$, where $k \in \mathbb{Z}$ and $k \geq 2$, and (ii) each of the vertices $x_1, x_2, x_3, x_4, x_6,$ $x_8, \ldots, x_{2k}$ is either a source or a sink. Berge (1982) conjectured that a digraph is $α$-diperfect if, and only if, it contains no induced anti-directed odd cycle. Remark that this conjecture is strikingly similar to Berge's conjecture on perfect graphs -- nowadays known as the Strong Perfect Graph Theorem (Chudnovsky, Robertson, Seymour, and Thomas, 2006). To the best of our knowledge, Berge's conjecture for $α$-diperfect digraphs has been verified only for symmetric digraphs and digraphs whose underlying graph are perfect. In this paper, we verify it for digraphs whose underlying graphs are series-parallel and for in-semicomplete digraphs. Moreover, we propose a conjecture similar to Berge's and verify it for all the known cases of Berge's conjecture.
Subdivisions of vertex-disjoint cycles in bipartite graphs
Let $n\geq 6,k\geq 0$ be two integers. Let $H$ be a graph of order $n$ with $k$ components, each of which is an even cycle of length at least $6$ and $G$ be a bipartite graph with bipartition $(X,Y)$ such that $|X|=|Y|\geq n/2$. In this paper, we show that if the minimum degree of $G$ is at least $n/2-k+1$, then $G$ contains a subdivision of $H$. This generalized an older result of Wang.
Sesqui-regular graphs with fixed smallest eigenvalue
Let $λ\geq2$ be an integer. For strongly regular graphs with parameters $(v, k, a,c)$ and smallest eigenvalue $-λ$, Neumaier gave two bounds on $c$ by using algebraic property of strongly regular graphs. In this paper, we will study a new class of regular graphs called sesqui-regular graphs, which contains strongly regular graphs as a subclass, and prove that for a sesqui-regular graph with parameters $(v,k,c)$ and smallest eigenvalue at least $-λ$, if $k$ is very large, then either $c \leq λ^2(λ-1)$ or $v-k-1 \leq \frac{(λ-1)^2}{4} + 1$ holds.
New bounds for the b-chromatic number of vertex deleted graphs
A b-coloring of a graph is a proper coloring of its vertices such that each color class contains a vertex adjacent to at least one vertex of every other color class. The b-chromatic number of a graph is the largest integer k such that the graph has a b-coloring with k colors. In this work we present lower bounds for the b-chromatic number of a vertex-deleted subgraph of a graph, particularly regarding two important classes, quasi-line and chordal graphs. We also get bounds for the b-chromatic number of G -{x}, when G is a graph with large girth.
Erdös-Pósa property of minor-models with prescribed vertex sets
A minor-model of a graph $H$ in a graph $G$ is a subgraph of $G$ that can be contracted to $H$. We prove that for a positive integer $\ell$ and a non-empty planar graph $H$ with at least $\ell-1$ connected components, there exists a function $f_{H, \ell}:\mathbb{N}\rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ satisfying the property that every graph $G$ with a family of vertex subsets $Z_1, \ldots, Z_m$ contains either $k$ pairwise vertex-disjoint minor-models of $H$ each intersecting at least $\ell$ sets among prescribed vertex sets, or a vertex subset of size at most $f_{H, \ell}(k)$ that meets all such minor-models of $H$. This function $f_{H, \ell}$ is independent with the number $m$ of given sets, and thus, our result generalizes Mader's $\mathcal S$-path Theorem, by applying $\ell=2$ and $H$ to be the one-vertex graph. We prove that such a function $f_{H, \ell}$ does not exist if $H$ consists of at most $\ell-2$ connected components.
Borel sets of Rado graphs and Ramsey's Theorem
The well-known Galvin-Prikry Theorem states that Borel subsets of the Baire space are Ramsey: Given any Borel subset $\mathcal{X}\subseteq [ω]^ω$, where $[ω]^ω$ is endowed with the metric topology, each infinite subset $X\subseteq ω$ contains an infinite subset $Y\subseteq X$ such that $[Y]^ω$ is either contained in $\mathcal{X}$ or disjoint from $\mathcal{X}$. Kechris, Pestov, and Todorcevic point out in their seminal 2005 paper the dearth of similar results for homogeneous structures. Such results are a necessary step to the larger goal of finding a correspondence between structures with infinite dimensional Ramsey properties and topological dynamics, extending their correspondence between the Ramsey property and extreme amenability. In this article, we prove an analogue of the Galvin-Prikry theorem for the Rado graph. Any such infinite dimensional Ramsey theorem is subject to constraints following from the 2006 work of Laflamme, Sauer, and Vuksanovic. The proof uses techniques developed for the author's work on the Ramsey theory of the Henson graphs as well as some new methods for fusion sequences, used to bypass the lack of a certain amalgamation property enjoyed by the Baire space.
Sparse graphs are near-bipartite

A multigraph $G$ is near-bipartite if $V(G)$ can be partitioned as $I,F$ such that $I$ is an independent set and $F$ induces a forest. We prove that a multigraph $G$ is near-bipartite when $3|W|-2|E(G[W])|\ge -1$ for every $W\subseteq V(G)$, and $G$ contains no $K_4$ and no Moser spindle. We prove that a simple graph $G$ is near-bipartite when $8|W|-5|E(G[W])|\ge -4$ for every $W\subseteq V(G)$, and $G$ contains no subgraph from some finite family $\mathcal{H}$. We also construct infinite families to show that both results are best possible in a very sharp sense.
Uniformity-independent minimum degree conditions for perfect matchings in hypergraphs
In this note, we prove that there exists a universal constant $c=\frac{43}{50}$ such that for every $k\in \mathbb{N}$ and every $d<k/2$, every $k$-uniform hypergraph on $n$ vertices and with minimum $d$-degree at least $(c+o_n(1))\binom{n-d}{k-d}$ contains a perfect matching. This is the first such bound which is independent of $k$, and therefore, improves all previously known bounds when $k$ is large. Our approach is based on combining the seminal work of Alon et al. with known bounds on a conjectured probabilistic inequality due to Feige.
