The conjecture of Peter Horak and Alex Rosa (generalizing that of Marco Buratti) states that a multiset L of v-1 positive integers not exceeding [v/2] is the list of edge-lengths of a suitable Hamiltonian path of the complete graph with vertex-set {0,1,...,v-1} if and only if the following condition (here reformulated in a slightly easier form) is satisfied: for every divisor d of v, the number of multiples of d appearing in L is at most v-d. In this paper we do some preliminary discussions on the conjecture, including its relationship with graph decompositions. Then we prove, as main result, that the conjecture is true whenever all the elements of L are in {1,2,3,5}.

Many combinatorial and topological invariants of a hyperplane arrangement can be computed in terms of its Tutte polynomial. Similarly, many invariants of a hypertoric arrangement can be computed in terms of its arithmetic Tutte polynomial. We compute the arithmetic Tutte polynomials of the classical root systems of types A,B,C, and D, with respect to their integer, root, and weight lattices. We do it in two ways: by introducing a finite field method for arithmetic Tutte polynomials, and by enumerating signed graphs with respect to six parameters.

In this paper, we explain the regularity, projective dimension and depth of edge ideal of some classes of graphs in terms of invariants of graphs. We show that for a $C_5$-free vertex decomposable graph $G$, $\T{reg}(R/I(G))= c_G$, where $c_G$ is the maximum number of 3-disjoint edges in $G$. Moreover for this class of graphs we characterize $\T{pd}(R/I(G))$ and $\T{depth}(R/I(G))$. As a corollary we describe these invariants in forests and sequentially Cohen-Macaulay bipartite graphs.

Maximum 4-degenerate subgraph of a planar graph
A graph $G$ is $k$-degenerate if it can be transformed into an empty graph by subsequent removals of vertices of degree $k$ or less. We prove that every connected planar graph with average degree $d \ge 2$ has a 4-degenerate induced subgraph containing at least $(38-d)/36$ of its vertices. This shows that every planar graph of order $n$ has a 4-degenerate induced subgraph of order more than $8/9 \cdot n$. We also consider a local variation of this problem and show that in every planar graph with at least 7 vertices, deleting a suitable vertex allows us to subsequently remove at least 6 more vertices of degree four or less.

Let $R$ be a commutative ring and $M$ be an $R$-module, and let $Z(M)$ be the set of all zero-divisors on $M$. In 2008, D.F. Anderson and A. Badawi introduced the regular graph of $R$. In this paper, we generalize the regular graph of $R$ to the \textit{$M$-regular graph} of $R$, denoted by $M$-$Reg(Γ(R))$. It is the undirected graph with all $M$-regular elements of $R$ as vertices, and two distinct vertices $x$ and $y$ are adjacent if and only if $x+y\in Z(M)$. The basic properties and possible structures of the $M$-$Reg(Γ(R))$ are studied. We determine the girth of the $M$-regular graph of $R$. Also, we provide some lower bounds for the independence number and the clique number of the $M$-$Reg(Γ(R))$. Among other results, we prove that for every Noetherian ring $R$ and every finitely generated module $M$ over $R$, if $2\notin Z(M)$ and the independence number of the $M$-$Reg(Γ(R))$ is finite, then $R$ is finite.
The intersection graph of ideals of $\mathbb{Z}_n$ is\\ weakly perfect
A graph is called weakly perfect if its vertex chromatic number equals its clique number. Let $R$ be a ring and $I(R)^*$ be the set of all left proper non-trivial ideals of $R$. The intersection graph of ideals of $R$, denoted by $G(R)$, is a graph with the vertex set $I(R)^*$ and two distinct vertices $I$ and $J$ are adjacent if and only if $I\cap J\neq 0$. In this paper, it is shown that $G(\mathbb{Z}_n)$, for every positive integer $n$, is a weakly perfect graph. Also, for some values of $n$, we give an explicit formula for the vertex chromatic number of $G(\mathbb{Z}_n)$. Furthermore, it is proved that the edge chromatic number of $G(\mathbb{Z}_n)$ is equal to the maximum degree of $G(\mathbb{Z}_n)$ unless either $G(\mathbb{Z}_n)$ is a null graph with two vertices or a complete graph of odd order.

In this paper firstly, we generalize the concept of codismantlable graphs to hypergraphs and show that some special vertex decomposable hypergraphs are codismantlable. Then we generalize the concept of bouquet in graphs to hypergraphs to extend some combinatorial invariants of graphs about disjointness of a set of bouquets. We use these invariants to characterize the projective dimension of Stanley-Reisner ring of special hypergraphs in some sense.
The bondage number of graphs on topological surfaces: degree-S vertices and the average degree
The bondage number $b(G)$ of a graph $G$ is the smallest number of edges whose removal from $G$ results in a graph with larger domination number. An orientable surface $\mathbb{S}_h$ of genus $h$, $h \geq 0$, is obtained from the sphere $\mathbb{S}_0$ by adding $h$ handles. A non-orientable surface $\mathbb{N}_q$ of genus $q$, $q \geq 1$, is obtained from the sphere by adding $q$ crosscaps. The Euler characteristic of a surface is defined by $χ(\mathbb{S}_h) = 2 - 2h$ and $χ(\mathbb{S}_q)= 2-q$. Let $G$ be a connected graph of order $n$ which is 2-cell embedded on a surface $\mathbb{M}$ with $χ(\mathbb{M})= χ$. We prove that $b(G) \leq 7+i$ when $\mathbb{M} = \mathbb{N}_i$, $i=1,2,3$, and $b(G) \leq 12$ when $\mathbb{M} \in \{\mathbb{N}_4, \mathbb{S}_2\}$. We give new arguments that improve the known upper bounds on the bondage number at least when $-7χ/(δ(G) - 5) < n \leq -12χ$, $δ(G) \geq 6$, where $δ(G)$ is the minimum degree of $G$. We obtain sufficient conditions for the validity of the inequality $b(G) \leq 2s-2$, provided $G$ has degree $s$ vertices. In particular, we prove that if $δ(G) = δ\geq 6$, $χ\leq -1$ and $-14χ< δ- 4 + 2(δ-5)n$ then $b(G) \leq 2δ-2$. We show that if $γ(G) = γ\not = 2$, where $γ(G)$ is the domination number of $G$, then $n \geq γ+ (1 + \sqrt{9+8γ-8χ})/2$; the bound is tight. We also present upper bounds for the bondage number of graphs in terms of the girth, domination number and Euler characteristic. As a corollary we prove that if $γ(G) \geq 4$ and $χ\leq -1$, then $b(G) \leq 11 - 24χ/(9 + \sqrt{41 - 8χ})$. Several unanswered questions are posed.
Gray codes and Enumerative Coding for vector spaces

Gray codes for vector spaces are considered in two graphs: the Grassmann graph, and the projective-space graph, both of which have recently found applications in network coding. For the Grassmann graph, constructions of cyclic optimal codes are given for all parameters. As for the projective-space graph, two constructions for specific parameters are provided, as well some non-existence results.
Furthermore, encoding and decoding algorithms are given for the Grassmannian Gray code, which induce an enumerative-coding scheme. The computational complexity of the algorithms is at least as low as known schemes, and for certain parameter ranges, the new scheme outperforms previously-known ones.

We study the continuous-time quantum walks on graphs in the adjacency algebra of the $n$-cube and its related distance regular graphs.
For $k\geq 2$, we find graphs in the adjacency algebra of $(2^{k+2}-8)$-cube that admit instantaneous uniform mixing at time $π/2^k$ and graphs that have perfect state transfer at time $π/2^k$.
We characterize the folded $n$-cubes, the halved $n$-cubes and the folded halved $n$-cubes whose adjacency algebra contains a complex Hadamard matrix. We obtain the same conditions for the characterization of these graphs admitting instantaneous uniform mixing.
Maximum st-flow in directed planar graphs via shortest paths

Minimum cuts have been closely related to shortest paths in planar graphs via planar duality - so long as the graphs are undirected. Even maximum flows are closely related to shortest paths for the same reason - so long as the source and the sink are on a common face. In this paper, we give a correspondence between maximum flows and shortest paths via duality in directed planar graphs with no constraints on the source and sink. We believe this a promising avenue for developing algorithms that are more practical than the current asymptotically best algorithms for maximum st-flow.

We investigate vector chromatic number, Lovasz theta of the complement, and quantum chromatic number from the perspective of graph homomorphisms. We prove an analog of Sabidussi's theorem for each of these parameters, i.e. that for each of the parameters, the value on the Cartesian product of graphs is equal to the maximum of the values on the factors. We also prove an analog of Hedetniemi's conjecture for Lovasz theta of the complement, i.e. that its value on the categorical product of graphs is equal to the minimum of its values on the factors. We conjecture that the analogous results hold for vector and quantum chromatic number, and we prove that this is the case for some special classes of graphs.
A transition of limiting distributions of large matchings in random graphs

We study the asymptotic distribution of the number of matchings of size $\ell=\ell(n)$ in $G(n,p)$ for a wide range of $p=p(n)\in (0,1)$ and for every $1\le \ell\le \lfloor n/2\rfloor$. We prove that this distribution changes from normal to log-normal as $\ell$ increases, and we determine the critical value of $\ell$, as a function of $n$ and $p$, at which the transition of the limiting distribution occurs.
Mirror bipartite graphs
Intuitively speaking, a bipartite graph is mirror if it can be drawn in the Cartesian plane in such a way that, the vertices of one stable are points in x=0, the vertices of the other stable set are points in x=1, the edges are straight line segments joining adjacent vertices and the resulting configuration is symmetric with respect to the line x=1/2. The concept of mirror bipartite graph appears naturally when studying certain types of products of graphs as for instance the Kronecker product. Motivated by this fact, we study mirror bipartite graphs from the point of view of their degree sequences and of their degree sets. We characterize the sequences of degrees of mirror bipartite graphs. We also show that from a given set P of positive integers, we can construct a bipartite graph of order 2max P, which is mirror. Furthermore, very little is known for the degree sequences of graphs with loops attached, when the number of loops attached is limited. We show in this paper that mirror bipartite graphs constitute a powerful tool to study the degree sequences of these graphs when the number of loops attached at each vertex is at most $1$.
Identifying codes of Cartesian product of two cliques
An identifying code in a graph $G$ is a dominating set $C$ such that the closed neighborhood of each vertex in $G$ has a distinct intersection with $C$. In 2008, Gravier et al. determined the minimum cardinality of an identifying code of the Cartesian product of two cliques with the same size. In this note, we generalize this result to the Cartesian product of any two nontrivial cliques.
A Ramsey-type result for geometric l-hypergraphs

Let n \geq l \geq 2 and q \geq 2. We consider the minimum N such that whenever we have N points in the plane in general position and the l-subsets of these points are colored with q colors, there is a subset S of n points all of whose l-subsets have the same color and furthermore S is in convex position. This combines two classical areas of intense study over the last 75 years: the Ramsey problem for hypergraphs and the Erd\H os-Szekeres theorem on convex configurations in the plane. For the special case l = 2, we establish a single exponential bound on the minimum N, such that every complete $N$-vertex geometric graph whose edges are colored with q colors, yields a monochromatic convex geometric graph on n vertices.
For fixed l \geq 2 and q \geq 4, our results determine the correct exponential tower growth rate for N as a function of n, similar to the usual hypergraph Ramsey problem, even though we require our monochromatic set to be in convex position. Our results also apply to the case of l=3 and q=2 by using a geometric variation of the stepping up lemma of Erd\H os and Hajnal. This is in contrast to the fact that the upper and lower bounds for the usual 3-uniform hypergraph Ramsey problem for two colors differ by one exponential in the tower.

The 'boxicity' ('cubicity') of a graph G is the minimum natural number k such that G can be represented as an intersection graph of axis-parallel rectangular boxes (axis-parallel unit cubes) in $R^k$. In this article, we give estimates on the boxicity and the cubicity of Cartesian, strong and direct products of graphs in terms of invariants of the component graphs. In particular, we study the growth, as a function of $d$, of the boxicity and the cubicity of the $d$-th power of a graph with respect to the three products. Among others, we show a surprising result that the boxicity and the cubicity of the $d$-th Cartesian power of any given finite graph is in $O(\log d / \log\log d)$ and $θ(d / \log d)$, respectively. On the other hand, we show that there cannot exist any sublinear bound on the growth of the boxicity of powers of a general graph with respect to strong and direct products.
On BC-trees and BC-subtrees
A BC-tree (block-cutpoint-tree) is a tree (with at least two vertices) where the distance between any two leaves is even. Motivated from the study of the "core" of a graph, BC-trees provide an interesting class of trees. We consider questions related to BC-trees as an effort to make modest progress towards the understanding of this concept. Constructive algorithms are provided for BC-trees with given order and number of leaves whenever possible. The concept of BC-subtrees is naturally introduced. Inspired by analogous work on trees and subtrees, we also present some extremal results and briefly discuss the "middle part" of a tree with respect to the number of BC-subtrees.
