We characterise the primitive 2-closed groups $G$ of rank at most four that are not the automorphism group of a graph or digraph and show that if the degree is at least 2402 then there are just two infinite families or $G\leqslant \mathrm{A}Γ\mathrm{L}_1(p^d)$, the 1-dimensional affine semilinear group. These are the first known examples of non-regular 2-closed groups that are not the automorphism group of a graph or digraph.
Exploring the infinitesimal rigidity of planar configurations of points and rods

This article is concerned with the rigidity properties of geometric realizations of incidence geometries of rank two as points and lines in the Euclidean plane; we care about the distance being preserved among collinear points. We discuss the rigidity properties of geometric realizations of incidence geometries in relation to the rigidity of geometric realizations of other well-known structures, such as graphs and hypergraphs. The $2$-plane matroid is also discussed.
Further, we extend a result of Whiteley to determine necessary conditions for an incidence geometry of points and lines with exactly three points on each line, or 3-uniform hypergraphs, to have a minimally rigid realization as points and lines in the plane. We also give examples to show that these conditions are not sufficient.
Finally, we examine the rigidity properties of $v_k$-configurations. We provide several examples of rigid $v_3$-configurations, and families of flexible geometric $v_3$-configurations. The exposition of the material is supported by many figures.

We prove that two horizontal-strip LLT polynomials are equal if the associated weighted graphs defined by the author in a previous paper are isomorphic. This provides a sufficient condition for equality of horizontal-strip LLT polynomials and yields a well-defined LLT polynomial indexed by a weighted graph. We use this to prove some new relations between LLT polynomials and we explore a connection with extended chromatic symmetric functions.
A Note on Coloring $(4K_1, C_4, C_6)$-free graphs with a $C_7$
Even-hole-free graphs are a graph class of much interest. Foley et al. [Graphs Comb. 36(1): 125-138 (2020)] have recently studied $(4K_1, C_4, C_6)$-free graphs, which form a subclass of even-hole-free graphs. Specifically, Foley et al. have shown an algorithm for coloring these graphs via bounded clique-width if they contain a $C_7$. In this note, we give a simpler and much faster algorithm via a more restrictive graph parameter, neighborhood diversity.
The extremal function for structured sparse minors
Let $c(H)$ be the smallest value for which $e(G)/|G|\geq c(H)$ implies $H$ is a minor of $G$. We show a new upper bound on $c(H)$, which improves previous bounds for graphs with a vertex partition where some pairs of parts have many more edges than others -- for instance a complete bipartite graph with a small number of edges placed inside one class. We also show a tight matching lower bound for almost all such graphs. We apply these results to show $c(K_{ft/\log t,t}) = (0.638\dotsc+o_{f}(1))t\sqrt{f}$, for $f = o(\log t) = ω(1)$.
A graph coloring approach to family-based haplotype reconstruction
Edge Constrained Vertex Coloring (ECVC) problems are defined on a finite multigraph, their solutions are characterized, and a linear time algorithm is given for solving $N$ ECVCs on the same underlying multigraph. Using ECVC problems we develop a novel family-based haplotype reconstruction method which has linear-time complexity in both number of markers and family size and has many other desirable properties. To do so, we define a multigraph given a genomic interval on which a family is recombination-free.
Terwilliger algebras and some related algebras defined by finite connected simple graphs

For a finite connected simple graph, the Terwilliger algebra is a matrix algebra generated by the adjacency matrix and idempotents corresponding to the distance partition with respect to a fixed vertex. We will consider algebras defined by two other partitions and the centralizer algebra of the stabilizer of the fixed vertex in the automorphism group of the graph. We will give some methods to compute such algebras and examples for various graphs.
On well-edge-dominated graphs

A graph is said to be well-edge-dominated if all its minimal edge dominating sets are minimum. It is known that every well-edge-dominated graph $G$ is also equimatchable, meaning that every maximal matching in $G$ is maximum. In this paper, we show that if $G$ is a connected, triangle-free, nonbipartite, well-edge-dominated graph, then $G$ is one of three graphs. We also characterize the well-edge-dominated split graphs and Cartesian products. In particular, we show that a connected Cartesian product $G\Box H$ is well-edge-dominated, where $G$ and $H$ have order at least $2$, if and only if $G\Box H = K_2 \Box K_2$.
The subspace structure of maximum cliques in pseudo-Paley graphs from unions of cyclotomic classes

Blokhuis showed that all maximum cliques in Paley graphs of square order have a subfield structure. Recently, it has been shown that in Peisert-type graphs, all maximum cliques are affine subspaces, and yet some maximum cliques do not arise from a subfield. In this paper, we investigate the existence of a clique of size $\sqrt{q}$ with a subspace structure in pseudo-Paley graphs of order $q$ from unions of semi-primitive cyclotomic classes. We show that such a clique must have an equal contribution from each cyclotomic class and that most such pseudo-Paley graphs do not admit such cliques, suggesting that the Delsarte bound $\sqrt{q}$ on the clique number can be improved in general. We also prove that generalized Peisert graphs are not isomorphic to Paley graphs or Peisert graphs, confirming a conjecture of Mullin.
$P$-associahedra

For each poset $P$, we construct a polytope $A(P)$ called the $P$-associahedron. Similarly to the case of graph associahedra, the faces of $A(P)$ correspond to certain nested collections of subsets of $P$. The Stasheff associahedron is a compactification of the configuration space of $n$ points on a line, and we recover $A(P)$ as an analogous compactification of the space of order-preserving maps $P\to\mathbb{R}$. Motivated by the study of totally nonnegative critical varieties in the Grassmannian, we introduce affine poset cyclohedra and realize these polytopes as compactifications of configuration spaces of $n$ points on a circle. For particular choices of (affine) posets, we obtain associahedra, cyclohedra, permutohedra, and type B permutohedra as special cases.
Planar graphs with the maximum number of induced 6-cycles

For large $n$ we determine the maximum number of induced 6-cycles which can be contained in a planar graph on $n$ vertices, and we classify the graphs which achieve this maximum. In particular we show that the maximum is achieved by the graph obtained by blowing up three pairwise non-adjacent vertices in a 6-cycle to sets of as even size as possible, and that every extremal example closely resembles this graph. This extends previous work by the author which solves the problem for 4-cycles and 5-cycles. The 5-cycle problem was also solved independently by Ghosh, Győri, Janzer, Paulos, Salia, and Zamora.
A Flat Wall Theorem for Matching Minors in Bipartite Graphs

A major step in the graph minors theory of Robertson and Seymour is the transition from the Grid Theorem which, in some sense uniquely, describes areas of large treewidth within a graph, to a notion of local flatness of these areas in form of the existence of a large flat wall within any huge grid of an H-minor free graph. In this paper, we prove a matching theoretic analogue of the Flat Wall Theorem for bipartite graphs excluding a fixed matching minor. Our result builds on a a tight relationship between structural digraph theory and matching theory and allows us to deduce a Flat Wall Theorem for digraphs which substantially differs from a previously established directed variant of this theorem.
Differential graded algebras for trivalent plane graphs and their representations

To any trivalent plane graph embedded in the sphere, Casals and Murphy associate a differential graded algebra (dg-algebra), in which the underlying graded algebra is free associative over a commutative ring. Our first result is the construction of a generalization of the Casals--Murphy dg-algebra to non-commutative coefficients, for which we prove various functoriality properties not previously verified in the commutative setting. Our second result is to prove that rank $r$ representations of this dg-algebra, over a field $\mathbb{F}$, correspond to colorings of the faces of the graph by elements of the Grassmannian $\operatorname{Gr}(r,2r;\mathbb{F})$ so that bordering faces are transverse, up to the natural action of $\operatorname{PGL}_{2r}(\mathbb{F})$. Underlying the combinatorics, the dg-algebra is a computation of the fully non-commutative Legendrian contact dg-algebra for Legendrian satellites of Legendrian 2-weaves, though we do not prove as such in this paper. The graph coloring problem verifies that for Legendrian 2-weaves, rank $r$ representations of the Legendrian contact dg-algebra correspond to constructible sheaves of microlocal rank $r$. This is the first explicit such computation of the bijection between the moduli spaces of representations and sheaves for an infinite family of Legendrian surfaces.
Roman domination in graphs with minimum degree at least two and some forbidden cycles
Let $G=(V,E)$ be a graph of order $n$ and let $γ_{R}(G)$ and $\partial (G)$ denote the Roman domination number and the differential of $G,$ respectively. In this paper we prove that for any integer $k\geq 0$, if $G$ is a graph of order $n\geq 6k+9$, minimum degree $δ\geq 2,$ which does not contain any induced $\{C_{5},C_{8},\ldots ,C_{3k+2}\}$% -cycles, then $γ_{R}(G)\leq \frac{(4k+8)n}{6k+11}$. This bound is an improvement of the bounds given in [E.W. Chambers, B. Kinnersley, N. Prince, and D.B. West, Extremal problems for Roman domination, SIAM J. Discrete Math. 23 (2009) 1575--1586] when $k=0,$ {and [S. Bermudo, On the differential and Roman domination number of a graph with minimum degree two, Discrete Appl. Math. 232 (2017), 64--72] when }$k=1.$ Moreover, using the Gallai-type result involving the Roman domination number and the differential of graphs established by Bermudo et al. stating that $γ_{R}(G)+\partial (G)=n$, we have $\partial (G)\geq \frac{(2k+3)n}{6k+11},$ thereby settling the conjecture of Bermudo posed in the second paper.
Fractional revival on non-cospectral vertices

Perfect state transfer and fractional revival can be used to move information between pairs of vertices in a quantum network. While perfect state transfer has received a lot of attention, fractional revival is newer and less studied. One problem is to determine the differences between perfect state transfer and fractional revival. If perfect state transfer occurs between two vertices in a graph, the vertices must be cospectral. Further if there is perfect state transfer between vertices $a$ and $b$ in a graph, there cannot be perfect state transfer from $a$ to any other vertex. No examples of unweighted graphs with fractional revival between non-cospectral vertices were known; here we give an infinite family of such graphs. No examples of unweighted graphs where the pairs involved in fractional revival overlapped were known; we give examples of such graphs as well.
A degree preserving delta wye transformation with applications to 6-regular graphs and Feynman periods

We investigate a degree preserving variant of the $Δ$-Y transformation which replaces a triangle with a new 6-valent vertex which has double edges to the vertices that had been in the triangle. This operation is relevant for understanding scalar Feynman integrals in 6 dimensions. We study the structure of equivalence classes under this operation and its inverse, with particular attention to when the equivalence classes are finite, when they contain simple 6-regular graphs, and when they contain doubled 3-regular graphs. The last of these, in particular, is relevant for the Feynman integral calculations and we make some observations linking the structure of these classes to the Feynman periods. Furthermore, we investigate properties of minimal graphs in these equivalence classes.

Given a finite group $G$ acting freely on a compact metric space $M$, and $ε>0$, we define the $G$-Borsuk graph on $M$ by drawing edges $x\sim y$ whenever there is a non-identity $g\in G$ such that $d(x,gy)\leqε$. We show that when $ε$ is small, its chromatic number is determined by the topology of $M$ via its $G$-covering number, which is the minimum $k$ such that there is a closed cover $M=F_1\cup\dots\cup F_k$ with $F_i\cap g(F_i)=\emptyset$ for all $g\in G\setminus\{1\}$. We are interested in bounding this number. We give lower bounds using $G$-actions on Hom-complexes, and upper bounds using a recursive formula on the dimension of $M$. We conjecture that the true chromatic number coincides with the lower bound, and give computational evidence. We also study random $G$-Borsuk graphs, which are random induced subgraphs. For these, we compute thresholds for $ε$ that guarantee that the chromatic number is still that of the whole $G$-Borsuk graph. Our results are tight (up to a constant) when the $G$-index and dimension of $M$ coincide.

In a recent paper, the authors gave combinatorial formulas for the Laurent expansions of super $λ$-lengths in a marked disk, generalizing Schiffler's $T$-path formula. In the present paper, we give an alternate combinatorial expression for these super $λ$-lengths in terms of double dimer covers on snake graphs. This generalizes the dimer formulas of Musiker, Schiffler, and Williams.
Network analysis using Forman curvature and Shapley values on hypergraphs
In recent years, network models have become more complex with the development of big data. Therefore, more advanced network analysis is required. In this paper, we introduce a new quantitative measure named combinatorial evaluation, which combines the discrete geometry concept of Forman Ricci curvature and the game theory concept of the Shapley value. We elucidated the characteristics of combinatorial evaluation by proving several properties of this indicator. Furthermore, we demonstrated the usefulness of the concept by calculating and comparing the conventional centrality and combinatorial evaluation for a concrete graph. The code is available at https://github.com/Taiki-Yamada-Math/CombinatorialEvaluation.
