A One-Third Bound for the Maker--Breaker Degree Game
Let \(H\) be a finite hypergraph with rank $r$ and minimum degree \(d\). In the Maker--Breaker degree game, Maker and Breaker alternately claim previously unclaimed hyperedges of \(H\), with Maker moving first, and Breaker seeks to maximize the minimum degree $δ(H_{\mathrm B})$ of his spanning subhypergraph $H_{\mathrm B}$. We prove that, for every fixed \(r\ge2\) and all sufficiently large \(d\), Breaker has a deterministic strategy satisfying \[ δ(H_{\mathrm B})\ge \frac{d}{r+1}-\sqrt{d\log d}. \] For graphs, this improves the classical universal lower bound \(d/4\) to \(d/3-\sqrt{d\log d}\). The proof introduces a virtual balancing process, encodes local imbalance by a multiplicative risk, and keeps the resulting risk vector in the Shearer region throughout the game.

Improved Bounds for Distinct Multiples in Intervals
In this note, we study two functions introduced by Erdős and Pomerance. For any positive integer $n$, let $F(n)$ be the smallest integer $F>0$ such that any $F$ consecutive integers contain a distinct multiple for each positive integer at most $n$, and let $h_{\mathbb{P}}(n)$ be the smallest integer $H>0$ such that any $H$ consecutive integers contain a distinct multiple for each prime at most $n$. Based on the square-residue digit construction of Green and Ruzsa, we prove \[ F(n)\ge h_{\mathbb P}(n)\ge n\exp\!\left(\frac{1}{50}\frac{\log n}{\log\log n}\right), \] for sufficiently large $n$. This improves the previous bounds $h_{\mathbb P}(n)/n\to\infty$ by Ruzsa, $F(n)\gg n\log n/\log \log n$ by van Doorn, and $F(n)\gg n\log n$ by Kominers and, in particular, disproves the conjecture $F(n)\ll n\log n$ by Kominers. Moreover, we prove \[ F(n)\le n^{β+o(1)}\ll n^{1.4031} \qquad {\rm and}\qquad h_{\mathbb P}(n) \ll \frac{n^{7/5}}{(\log n)^{2/5}}, \] where $β\in (1,2)$ is the root of $2β^3-8β^2+8β-1=0$. This improves the previous best bounds $F(n)\ll n^{3/2}$ and $h_{\mathbb{P}}(n)\ll n^{3/2}/\sqrt{\log n}$ by Erdős and Pomerance in 1980. Our upper bound on $F(n)$ is a corollary of the sum--difference theorem of Katz and Tao, while the upper bound on $h_{\mathbb P}(n)$ is achieved via a novel combinatorial method.

Paths of even length with equal-degree endpoints
Addressing a question posed by Erdős and Hajnal, Chen and Ma proved that, for all $n \ge 600$, the complete bipartite graph $K_{n,n+1}$ is the unique graph on $2n+1$ vertices with at least $n^2+n$ edges that contains no two vertices of equal degree joined by a path of length three. In this paper, we extend this result and prove that for every fixed integer \(\ell\ge 2\) and sufficiently large \(n\), the unique \(2n\)-vertex graph with at least \((n^2+n)/2\) edges that contains no two vertices of equal degree joined by a path of length \(2\ell\) is the half graph \(H_n\). This resolves the problem posed by Chen and Ma, as well as a related question of Attwa, Azócar Carvajal, Boyadzhiyska, Pierron, and Taraz concerning paths of even length with equal-degree endpoints.

An extremal theorem for positive curvature of graphs
We prove an extremal theorem for positive Ollivier/Lin--Lu--Yau curvature: every graph of order \(n\geq 8\) with more than \[ T(n)=\frac{n^2-3n}{2}-\left\lceil\frac{n}{2}\right\rceil+2 \] edges has positive Ollivier/Lin--Lu--Yau curvature, and this threshold is optimal. Moreover, for even $n\geq 12$, there exists a unique graph with $T(n)$ edges that has an edge with non-positive curvature. For $n=8,10$ and odd $n\geq 9$, the extremal graphs are not unique. This suggests a new class of extremal graph-theoretic problems arising from discrete curvature notions.

Criteria on forbidden subgraphs in the complements for positive Lin--Lu--Yau curvature
We investigate forbidden subgraph conditions in the complement of a graph that guarantee positive Lin--Lu--Yau curvature. In particular, we prove that every graph whose complement contains no $4$-cycles has positive Lin--Lu--Yau curvature, with the only exception of the $4$-vertex path. We further prove that, for any integer $t\ge2$, every graph on at least $\max\{t^2-2t+2, 8t\}$ vertices whose complement contains no $K_{2,t}$ has positive curvature. In addition, this lower bound on the number of vertices is optimal for $t\geq 10$. Finally, we construct examples showing that, in general, the forbidden subgraphs in these results cannot be replaced by cycles of length other than $4$ or by complete bipartite graphs $K_{s,t}$ with $s> 2$ and $t> 2$.

Books versus Triangles near the n/6 Threshold
The book number $b(G)$ of a graph $G$ is the maximum number of triangles sharing a common edge. A strengthening of Mantel's theorem due to Rademacher states that every $n$-vertex graph with more than $\lfloor n^2/4\rfloor$ edges contains at least $\lfloor n/2\rfloor$ triangles. Another strengthening, initiated by Erdős, asserts that every such graph $G$ satisfies $b(G)\ge n/6$. Motivated by these results, Mubayi studied the tradeoff between the total number of triangles and the book number in such graphs, and asymptotically resolved the problem when $n/4\le b(G)\le n/2$. Conlon, Fox, and Sudakov conjectured that, for $n/6\le b< n/4$, every $n$-vertex graph with at least $\lfloor n^2/4\rfloor$ edges and book number at most $b$, other than the balanced complete bipartite graph, has at least $b^2(n-4b)$ triangles, with equality only for the blow-up $S_{b,n}$ of the $3$-prism. They proved the conjecture when $b$ lies in an interval with endpoint $n/4$, and also at the endpoint $b=n/6$, where they asked whether it remains valid in an interval containing this endpoint. In this paper, we answer this question affirmatively. We show that there exists a constant $\varepsilon>0$ such that the conjecture holds for all $n/6\le b\le (1/6+\varepsilon)n$. Our proof first establishes a stability theorem showing that every extremal graph is close to a blow-up of the $3$-prism, and then uses a detailed parameter analysis to force the exact six-partite structure.

On a maximal anti-Ramsey conjecture of Burr, Erdős, Graham, and Sós
Given a graph $H$, the maximal anti-Ramsey function $f(n,e,H)$ denotes the minimum integer $f$ for which there exists an $n$-vertex graph $G$ with at least $e$ edges admitting an edge-coloring with $f$ colors in which each copy of $H$ in $G$ is rainbow. In the late 1980s, Burr, Erdős, Graham, and Sós conjectured that for every odd cycle $C_{2k+1}$ with $k \ge 3$, $f(n, \lfloor n^2/4 \rfloor + 1, C_{2k+1}) = n^2/8 + o(n^2)$. In this note, we confirm this conjecture for all $k \ge 4$. More generally, we establish the asymptotic formula $$f\left(n,e,C_{2k+1}\right)=\frac{e}{2}+\frac{n}{2}\sqrt{e-\frac{n^2}{4}}+o(n^2),$$ for the entire non-trivial range of $\left\lfloor n^2/4 \right\rfloor+1\le e\le \binom{n}{2}$.

On Lichnerowicz sharp distance-regular graphs
The first non-zero Laplacian eigenvalue $λ_1$ of a finite graph is bounded below by its minimum Lin--Lu--Yau curvature $κ$. This is a discrete analogue of the classical Lichnerowicz Theorem. A graph with $λ_1=κ$ is called Lichnerowicz sharp. In this note, we completely classify all Lichnerowicz sharp distance-regular graphs. Our result substantially strengthens the corresponding classification by Cushing, Kamtue, Koolen, Liu, Münch, and Peyerimhoff (Adv. Math. 2020), which required an extra spectral condition. As a key preparatory step, we provide a classification of all amply regular Terwilliger graphs with positive Lin-Lu-Yau curvature, a result that is interesting of its own right.

Edge-connectivity of graphs with non-negative Bakry-Émery curvature and amply regular graphs
We establish a sharp edge-connectivity estimate for graphs with non-negative Bakry-Émery curvature. This leads to a geometric criterion for the existence of a perfect matching. Precisely, we show that any regular graph with non-negative Bakry-Émery curvature and an even or infinite number of vertices has a perfect matching. Through a synthesis of combinatorial and curvature-related techniques, we determine the edge-connectivity of (possibly infinite) amply regular graphs.

Halin graphs with positive Lin-Lu-Yau curvature
Halin graphs constitute an interesting class of planar and polyhedral graphs. A generalized Halin graph is obtained by connecting all leaves of a planar embedding of a tree via a cycle. A Halin graph is a generalized Halin graph having no vertex of degree two. We classify all generalized Halin graphs with positive Lin-Lu-Yau curvature.

Connectivity versus Lin-Lu-Yau curvature
We explore the interaction between connectivity and Lin-Lu-Yau curvature of graphs systematically. The intuition is that connected graphs with large Lin-Lu-Yau curvature also have large connectivity, and vice versa. We prove that the connectivity of a connected graph is lower bounded by the product of its minimum degree and its Lin-Lu-Yau curvature. On the other hand, if the connectivity of a graph $G$ on $n$ vertices is at least $\frac{n-1}{2}$, then $G$ has positive Lin-Lu-Yau curvature. Moreover, the bound $\frac{n-1}{2}$ here is optimal. Furthermore, we prove that the edge-connectivity is equal to the minimum vertex degree for any connected graph with positive Lin-Lu-Yau curvature. As applications, we estimate or determine the connectivity and edge-connectivity of an amply regular graph with parameters $(d,α,β)$ such that $1\neq β\geq α$.

A problem of Erdős and Hajnal on paths with equal-degree endpoints
We address a problem posed by Erdős and Hajnal in 1991, proving that for all $n \geq 600$, every $(2n+1)$-vertex graph with at least $n^2 + n + 1$ edges contains two vertices of equal degree connected by a path of length three. The complete bipartite graph $K_{n,n+1}$ demonstrates that this edge bound is sharp. We further establish an analogous result for graphs with even order and investigate several related extremal problems.

On a conjecture of Pach-Spencer-Tóth for graph crossing numbers
The crossing number of a graph $G$ denotes the minimum number of crossings in any planar drawing of $G$. In this short note, we confirm a long-standing conjecture posed by Pach, Spencer, and Tóth over 25 years ago, establishing an optimal lower bound on the crossing number of graphs that satisfy some monotone properties. Furthermore, we address a related open problem introduced by Pach and Tóth in 2000, which explores the interplay between the crossing number of a graph, its degree sequence, and its bisection width.

Diameter bounds for distance-regular graphs via long-scale Ollivier Ricci curvature
In this paper, we derive new sharp diameter bounds for distance regular graphs, which better answer a problem raised by Neumaier and Penji\' c in many cases. Our proof is built upon a relation between the diameter and long-scale Ollivier Ricci curvature of a graph, which can be considered as an improvement of the discrete Bonnet-Myers theorem. Our method further leads to significant improvements of existing diameter bounds for amply regular graphs and $(s,c,a,k)$-graphs.

Ricci curvature, diameter and eigenvalues of amply regular graphs
Amply regular graphs are graphs with local distance-regularity constraints. In this paper, we prove a weaker version of a conjecture proposed by Qiao, Park, and Koolen on diameter bounds of amply regular graphs and make new progress on Terwilliger's conjecture on finiteness of amply regular graphs. Terwilliger's conjecture can be considered as a natural extension of the Bannai-Ito conjecture about distance-regular graphs confirmed by Bang, Dubickas, Koolen, and Moulton. As a consequence, we show that there are only finitely many amply regular graphs with parameters $(n,d,α,β)$ satisfying $α\leq 6β-9$. We achieve these results by a significantly improved Lin--Lu--Yau curvature estimate and new Bakry--Émery curvature estimates. We further discuss applications of our curvature estimates to bounding eigenvalues, isoperimetric constants, and expansion properties. In addition, we obtain a volume estimate, which is sharp for hypercubes.

Curvature and local matchings of conference graphs and extensions
We prove a conjecture of Bonini et al. on the precise values of the Lin--Lu--Yau curvature of conference graphs, i.e., strongly regular graphs with parameters $(4γ+1,2γ,γ-1,γ)$. Our method depends only on the parameter relations and applies to broader classes of amply regular graphs. In particular, we develop a new combinatorial approach to show the existence of local perfect matchings. A key observation is that counting common neighbors leads to useful quadratic polynomials. As a corollary, we derive an interesting number-theoretic result concerning quadratic residues.
