Inversion-descent enumerators of $\underline{32}1$-avoiding permutations
We give the recurrence relation for counting polynomials for permutations avoiding the $\321$ vincular pattern, with respect to inversion numbers and descent numbers, and consequently give the $q$-exponential generating function for these counting polynomials. Furthermore, we give another explanation for these counting polynomials in terms of restricted-growth words.
Counting permutations by alternating runs via Hetyei-Reiner trees
The generating polynomial of permutations of size $n$, counted by the number of alternating runs, has a root at $-1$ of multiplicity $\lfloor (n-2)/2 \rfloor$ for all $n \ge 2$. This result can be derived by combining the David--Barton formula for Eulerian polynomials with the Foata--Schützenberger $γ$--decomposition. More recently, Bóna gave a group--action proof of this phenomenon.
In this paper, we present an alternative approach based on the Hetyei--Reiner action on binary trees, which leads to a new combinatorial interpretation of Bóna's quotient polynomial. Moreover, we extend our analysis to analogous results for permutations of types~$B$ and~$D$. As a by--product of our bijective framework, we also obtain combinatorial proofs of David--Barton--type identities for permutations of types~$A$ and~$B$.
Web permutations, Seidel triangle and normalized $γ$-coefficients
The web permutations were introduced by Hwang, Jang and Oh to interpret the entries of the transition matrix between the Specht and $\mathrm{SL}_2$-web bases of the irreducible $§_{2n}$-representation indexed by $(n,n)$. They conjectured that certain classes of web permutations are enumerated by the Seidel triangle. Using generating functions, Xu and Zeng showed that enumerating web permutations by the number of drops, fixed points and cycles gives rise to the normalized $γ$-coefficients of the $(α,t)$-Eulerian polynomials. They posed the problems to prove their result combinatorially and to find an interpretation of the normalized $γ$-coefficients in terms of cycle-up-down permutations. In this work, we prove the enumerative conjecture of Hwang-Jang-Oh and answer the two open problems proposed by Xu and Zeng.
A $q$-analog of the Stirling-Eulerian Polynomials
In 1974, Carlitz and Scoville introduced the Stirling-Eulerian polynomial $A_n(x,y|α,β)$ as the enumerator of permutations by descents, ascents, left-to-right maxima and right-to-left maxima. Recently, Ji considered a refinement of $A_n(x,y|α,β)$, denoted $P_n(u_1,u_2,u_3,u_4|α,β)$, which is the enumerator of permutations by valleys, peaks, double ascents, double descents, left-to-right maxima and right-to-left maxima. Using Chen's context-free grammar calculus, Ji proved a formula for the generating function of $P_n(u_1,u_2,u_3,u_4|α,β)$, generalizing the work of Carlitz and Scoville. Ji's formula has many nice consequences, one of which is an intriguing $γ$-positivity expansion for $A_n(x,y|α,β)$. In this paper, we prove a $q$-analog of Ji's formula by using Gessel's $q$-compositional formula and provide a combinatorial approach to her $γ$-positivity expansion of $A_n(x,y|α,β)$.

We introduce a kind of $(p, q, t)$-Catalan numbers of Type A by generalizing the Jacobian type continued fraction formula, we proved that the corresponding expansions could be expressed by the polynomials counting permutations on $§_n(321)$ by various descent statistics. Moreover, we introduce a kind of $(p, q, t)$-Catalan numbers of Type B by generalizing the Jacobian type continued fraction formula, we proved that the Taylor coefficients and their $γ$-coefficients could be expressed by the polynomials counting permutations on $§_n(3124, 4123, 3142, 4132)$ by various descent statistics. Our methods include permutation enumeration techniques involving variations of bijections from permutation patterns to labeled Motzkin paths and modified Foata-Strehl action.

Noticing that some recent variations of descent polynomials are special cases of Carlitz and Scoville's four-variable polynomials, which enumerate permutations by the parity of descent and ascent positions, we prove a $q$-analogue of Carlitz-Scoville's generating function by counting the inversion number and a type B analogue by enumerating the signed permutations with respect to the parity of desecnt and ascent positions. As a by-product of our formulas, we obtain a $q$-analogue of Chebikin's formula for alternating descent polynomials, an alternative proof of Sun's gamma-positivity of her bivariate Eulerian polynomials and a type B analogue, the latter refines Petersen's gamma-positivity of the type B Eulerian polynomials.
A new combinatorial formula for alternating descent polynomials
We prove a combinatorial formula for the alternating descent polynomials of type A and B. Combining with Josuat-Vergès' combinatorial interpretation for Hoffman's derivative polynomials for tangent and secant functions, we obtain a unified combinatorial proof of Ma-Yeh's two formulae linking these two families of polynomials.

Recently, Lazar and Wachs (arXiv:1910.07651) showed that the (median) Genocchi numbers play a fundamental role in the study of the homogenized Linial arrangement and obtained two new permutation models (called D-permutations and E-permutations) for (median) Genocchi numbers. They further conjecture that the distributions of cycle numbers over the two models are equal. In a follow-up, Eu et al. (arXiv:2103.09130) further proved the gamma-positivity of the descent polynomials of even-odd descent permutations, which are in bijection with E-permutations by Foata's fundamental transformation. This paper merges the above two papers by considering a general moment sequence which encompasses the number of cycles and number of drops of E-permutations. Using the combinatorial theory of continued fraction, the moment connection enables us to confirm Lazar-Wachs' conjecture and obtain a natural $(p,q)$-analogue of Eu et al's descent polynomials. Furthermore, we show that the $γ$-coefficients of our $(p,q)$-analogue of descent polynomials have the same factorization flavor as the $γ$-coeffcients of Brändén's $(p,q)$-Eulerian polynomials.
Combinatorics of $(q,y)$-Laguerre polynomials and their moments
We consider a $(q,y)$-analogue of Laguerre polynomials $L^{(α)}_n(x;y;q)$ for integral $α\geq -1$, which turns out to be a rescaled version of Al-Salam--Chihara polynomials. A combinatorial interpretation for the $(q,y)$-Laguerre polynomials is given using a colored version of Foata-Strehl's Laguerre configurations with suitable statistics. When $α\geq 0$, the corresponding moments are described using certain classical statistics on permutations, and the linearization coefficients are proved to be a polynomial in $y$ and $q$ with nonnegative integral coefficients.
