Tree-partitions of graphs with bounded tree-depth
Wood~ recently showed that every graph $G$ of pathwidth $h$ and $Δ(G)\ge1$ admits a $T$-partition of width at most $4(h+1)^2Δ(G)$ for some tree $T$ with $pw(T)\leq2h+1$. In this paper, we establish an analogous result for tree-depth, which is a stronger parameter than pathwidth. We prove that every connected graph with tree-depth $h$ admits a $T$-partition of width at most $\mathrm{max}\{1, (4h-10)Δ(G)+1\}$ for some tree $T$ with $\operatorname{rad}(T)\leq h-1$.

Two-colored generalized Frobenius partitions and minimal-excludant sums over bipartitions
Let $\cpsi_{2,a}(n)$ denote the number of $(2,a)$-colored Frobenius partitions of weight $n$, where the two rows have prescribed length difference. We study the two cases $a=0$ and $a=1$ and connect them with minimal-excludant statistics on bipartitions. Let $σ\mex_2(n)$ be the sum of the Lin--Liu bipartition minimal excludants over all bipartitions of $n$, and let $E_2(n)$ be the number of bipartitions whose two component minimal excludants are equal. For all $n\geq 0$, we give a combinatorial proof of \[ \cpsi_{2,0}(n)=2σ\mex_2(n) \qquad\text{and}\qquad \cpsi_{2,1}(n)=2σ\mex_2(n)-E_2(n). \] These identities give direct combinatorial interpretations of two-colored Frobenius partition functions in terms of bipartition minimal-excludant sums.

A Generalization of the Amdeberhan-Andrews-Ballantine Conjecture
In this paper, we prove a generalization of a conjecture of Amdeberhan, Andrews, and Ballantine on double Lambert series. Motivated by a question raised by Cui, Kumar, and Singh concerning the existence of a generalization of this conjecture, we establish an identity in which the coefficients are given by the generalized divisor function $σ_k(n)$. As a special case, our result includes the original conjecture.

On tree decompositions whose trees are subgraphs
Fix $k \in \mathbb{N}$ and let $G$ be a connected graph with treewidth at most $k$. We say that $xy \notin E(G)$ is a {\em $k$-ghost-edge} of $G$ if for every tree decomposition $(T, \cB)$ of $G$ with width at most $k$, both $x$ and $y$ are contained in a bag of $(T, \cB)$. Moreover, if $G$ does not contain any $k$-ghost-edges, then $G$ is {\em $k$-ghost-free}. Hickingbotham proposed a conjecture that every connected $k$-ghost-free graph $G$ has a tree decomposition $(T, \cB)$ with width at most $k$ such that $T$ is a subgraph of $G$. In this paper, we prove that Hickingbotham's conjecture is false for all $k\geq3$.

A counterexample to Hickingbotham's conjecture about $k$-ghost-edges
Fix $k\in \mathbb{N}$ and let $G$ be a connected graph with $tw(G)\leq k$. We say that $xy\in E(G^c)$ is a {\em $k$-ghost-edge} of $G$ if for every tree decomposition $(T,\cB)$ of $G$ with width at most $k$, the set $\{x,y\}$ is contained in a bag of $(T,\cB)$. Although a $k$-ghost-edge of $G$ is not an edge of $G$, but it behaves like real edges with respect to tree decomposition of $G$ with width at most $k$. For any graph $G$ with treewidth $k$ and $xy\in E(G^c)$, when there are at least $k+1$ internally vertex disjoint $(x,y)$-paths, Hickingbotham proved that $xy$ is a $k$-ghost-edge of $G$; while when there are at most $k$ internally vertex disjoint $(x,y)$-paths, he conjectured that it is not a $k$-ghost-edge of $G$. In this paper, we prove that this conjecture is wrong.

Graphs with girth $2\ell$ and without longer even holes are $3$-colorable
For a number $\ell\geq 2$, let $\mathcal{H}_{\ell}$ denote the family of graphs which have girth $2\ell$ and have no even hole with length greater than $2\ell$. Wu, Xu, and Xu conjectured that every graph in $\bigcup_{\ell\geq2}\mathcal{H}_{\ell}$ is 3-colorable. In this paper, we prove that every graph in $\mathcal{H}_{\ell}$ is 3-colorable for any integer $\ell\geq5$.

Correspondence among congruence families for generalized Frobenius partitions via modular permutations
In 2024, Garvan, Sellers and Smoot discovered a remarkable symmetry in the families of congruences for generalized Frobenius partitions $cψ_{2,0}$ and $cψ_{2,1}$. They also emphasized that the considerations for the general case of $cψ_{k,β}$ are important for future work. In this paper, for each $k$ we construct a vector-valued modular form for the generating functions of $cψ_{k,β}$, and determine an equivalence relation among all $β$. Within each equivalence class, we can identify modular transformations relating the congruences of one $cψ_{k,β}$ to that of another $cψ_{k,β'}$. Furthermore, correspondences between different equivalence classes can also be obtained through linear combinations of modular transformations. As an example, with the aid of these correspondences, we prove a family of congruences of $cφ_{3}$, the Andrews' $3$-colored Frobenius partition.

Combinatorial proofs for partitions with repeated smallest part
Recently, Andrews and El Bachraoui considered the number of integer partitions whose smallest part is repeated exactly $k$ times and the remaining parts are not repeated. They presented several interesting results and posed questions regarding combinatorial proofs for these identities. In this paper, we establish bijections to provide combinatorial proofs for these results.

Odd complete bipartite minors in graphs with independence number two
Recently, Chen and Deng have proved that every graph $G$ with independence number two contains $K_{\ell,χ(G)- \ell}$ as a minor for each integer $\ell$ with $1\leq\ell < χ(G)$. In this paper, we extend this result to odd minor version. That is, we prove that each graph $G$ with independence number two contains $K_{\ell,χ(G)- \ell}$ as an odd minor for each integer $\ell$ with $1\leq\ell < χ(G)$.

Characterization of $P_3$-connected graphs
For any pair of edges $e,f$ of a graph $G$, we say that {\em $e,f$ are $P_3$-connected in $G$} if there exists a sequence of edges $e=e_0,e_1,\ldots, e_k=f$ such that $e_i$ and $e_{i+1}$ are two edges of an induced $3$-vertex path in $G$ for every $0\leq i\leq k-1$. If every pair of edges of $G$ are $P_3$-connected in $G$, then $G$ is {\em $P_3$-connected}. $P_3$-connectivity was first defined by Chudnovsky et al. in 2024 to prove that every connected graph not containing $P_5$ as an induced subgraph has cop number at most two. In this paper, we give a characterization of $P_3$-connected graphs and prove that a simple graph is $P_3$-connected if and only if it is connected and has no homogeneous set whose induced subgraph contains an edge.

A conjecture of Radu and Sellers on congruences modulo powers of 2 for broken 3-diamond partitions
In 2007, Andrews and Paule introduced the family of functions $Δ_k(n)$, which enumerate the number of broken $k$-diamond partitions for a fixed positive integer $k$. In 2013, Radu and Sellers completely characterized the parity of $Δ_3(8n + r)$ for some $r$ and gave a conjecture on congruences modulo powers of 2 for broken 3-diamond partitions. We use an unconventional $U$-sequence to solve the revised conjecture proposed by Radu and Sellers.

A simple proof of the existence of complete bipartite graph immersion in graphs with independence number two
Hadwiger's conjecture for the immersion relation posits that every graph $G$ contains an immersion of the complete graph $K_{χ(G)}$. Vergara showed that this is equivalent to saying that every $n$-vertex graph $G$ with $α(G)=2$ contains an immersion of the complete graph on $\lceil\frac{n}{2}\rceil$ vertices. Recently, Botler et al. showed that every $n$-vertex graph $G$ with $α(G)=2$ contains every complete bipartite graph on $\lceil\frac{n}{2}\rceil$ vertices as an immersion. In this paper, we give a much simpler proof of this result.

On the total number of ones associated with cranks of partitions modulo 11
In 2021, Andrews mentioned that George Beck introduced partition statistics $M_w(r,m,n)$, which denote the total number of ones in the partition of $n$ with crank congruent to $r$ modulo $m$. Recently, a number of congruences and identities involving $M_w(r,m,n)$ for some small $m$ have been developed. We establish the 11-dissection of the generating functions for $M_ω(r,11,n)-M_ω(11-r,11,n)$, where $r=1,2,3,4,5$. In particular, we discover a beautiful identity involving $M_ω(r,11,11n+6)$.

Connected matching in graphs with independence number two
A matching $M$ in a graph $G$ is {\em connected} if $G$ has an edge linking each pair of edges in $M$. The problem to find large connected matchings in graphs $G$ with $α(G)=2$ is closely related to Hadwiger's conjecture for graphs with independence number 2. The problem of finding a large connected matching in a general graph is NP-hard. F{ü}redi et al. in 2005 conjectured that each $(4t-1)$-vertex graph $G$ with $α(G)=2$ contains a connected matching of size at least $t$. Cambie recently showed that if this conjecture is false, then so is Hadwiger's conjecture. In this paper, we present a number of properties possessed by a counterexample to F{ü}redi et al.'s conjecture, and then using these properties, we prove that F{ü}redi et al.'s conjecture holds for $t\leq22$.

Transformation properties of Andrews-Beck $NT$ functions and generalized Appell-Lerch series
In 2021, Andrews mentioned that George Beck introduced a partition statistic $NT(r,m,n)$ which is related to Dyson's rank statistic. Motivated by Andrews's work, scholars have established a number of congruences and identities involving $NT(r,m,n)$. In this paper, we strengthen and extend a recent work of Mao on the transformation properties of the $NT$ function and provide an analogy of Hickerson and Mortenson's work on the rank function. As an application, we demonstrate how one can deduce from our results many identities involving $NT(r,m,n)$ and another crank-analog statistic $M_ω(r,m,n)$. As a related result, some new properties of generalized Appell-Lerch series are given.

Congruences modulo powers of $5$ and $7$ for the crank and rank parity functions and related mock theta functions
It is well known that Ramanujan conjectured congruences modulo powers of $5$, $7$ and and $11$ for the partition function. These were subsequently proved by Watson (1938) and Atkin (1967). In 2009 Choi, Kang, and Lovejoy proved congruences modulo powers of $5$ for the crank parity function. The generating function for the analogous rank parity function is $f(q)$, the first example of a mock theta function that Ramanujan mentioned in his last letter to Hardy. Recently we proved congruences modulo powers of $5$ for the rank parity function, and here we extend these congruences for powers of $7$. We also show how these congruences imply congruences modulo powers of $5$ and $7$ for the coefficients of the related third order mock theta function $ω(q)$, using Atkin-Lehner involutions and transformation results of Zwegers. Finally we a prove a family of congruences modulo powers of $7$ for the crank parity function.

Seymour and Woodall's conjecture holds for graphs with independence number two
Woodall (and Seymour independently) in 2001 proposed a conjecture that every graph $G$ contains every complete bipartite graph on $χ(G)$ vertices as a minor, where $χ(G)$ is the chromatic number of $G$. In this paper, we prove that for each positive integer $\ell$ with $2\ell \leq χ(G)$, each graph $G$ with independence number two contains a $K^{\ell}_{\ell,χ(G)-\ell}$-minor, implying that Seymour and Woodall's conjecture holds for graphs with independence number two, where $K^{\ell}_{\ell,χ(G)-\ell}$ is the graph obtained from $K_{\ell,χ(G)-\ell}$ by making every pair of vertices on the side of the bipartition of size $\ell$ adjacent.

Borodin-Kostochka Conjecture holds for odd-hole-free graphs
The Borodin-Kostochka Conjecture states that for a graph $G$, if $Δ(G)\geq 9$, then $χ(G)\leq\max\{Δ(G)-1,ω(G)\}$. In this paper, we prove the Borodin-Kostochka Conjecture holding for odd-hole-free graphs.

Graphs that contain a $K_{1,2,3}$ and no induced subdivision of $K_4$ are $4$-colorable
In 2012, Lévêque, Maffray, and Trotignon conjectured that each graph $G$ that contains no induced subdivision of $K_4$ is $4$-colorable. In this paper, we prove that this conjecture holds when $G$ contains a $K_{1,2,3}$.

For a number $\ell\geq 2$, let $\mathcal{G}_{\ell}$ denote the family of graphs which have girth $2\ell+1$ and have no odd hole with length greater than $2\ell+1$. Plummer and Zha conjectured that every 3-connected and internally 4-connected graph in $\mathcal{G}_2$ is 3-colorable. Wu, Xu, and Xu conjectured that every graph in $\bigcup_{\ell\geq2}\mathcal{G}_{\ell}$ is 3-colorable. Chudnovsky et al. and Wu et al., respectively, proved that every graph in $\mathcal{G}_2$ and $\mathcal{G}_3$ is 3-colorable. In this paper, we prove that every graph in $\bigcup_{\ell\geq5}\mathcal{G}_{\ell}$ is 3-colorable.
