On projective $q^r$-divisible codes
A projective linear code over $\mathbb{F}_q$ is called $Δ$-divisible if all weights of its codewords are divisible by $Δ$. Especially, $q^r$-divisible projective linear codes, where $r$ is some integer, arise in many applications of collections of subspaces in $\mathbb{F}_q^v$. One example are upper bounds on the cardinality of partial spreads. Here we survey the known results on the possible lengths of projective $q^r$-divisible linear codes.

We present an algorithm for the classification of linear codes over finite fields, based on lattice point enumeration. We validate a correct implementation of our algorithm with known classification results from the literature, which we partially extend to larger ranges of parameters.
Three-weight codes over rings and strongly walk regular graphs

We construct strongly walk-regular graphs as coset graphs of the duals of codes with three non-zero homogeneous weights over $\mathbb{Z}_{p^m},$ for $p$ a prime, and more generally over chain rings of depth $m$, and with a residue field of size $q$, a prime power. Infinite families of examples are built from Kerdock and generalized Teichmüller codes. As a byproduct, we give an alternative proof that the Kerdock code is nonlinear.
Combining subspace codes

In the context of constant--dimension subspace codes, an important problem is to determine the largest possible size $A_q(n, d; k)$ of codes whose codewords are $k$-subspaces of $\mathbb{F}_q^n$ with minimum subspace distance $d$. Here in order to obtain improved constructions, we investigate several approaches to combine subspace codes. This allow us to present improvements on the lower bounds for constant--dimension subspace codes for many parameters, including $A_q(10, 4; 5)$, $A_q(12, 4; 4)$, $A_q(12, 6, 6)$ and $A_q(16, 4; 4)$.
Subspace Packings -- Constructions and Bounds

The Grassmannian $\mathcal{G}_q(n,k)$ is the set of all $k$-dimensional subspaces of the vector space $\mathbb{F}_q^n$. Kötter and Kschischang showed that codes in Grassmannian space can be used for error-correction in random network coding. On the other hand, these codes are $q$-analogs of codes in the Johnson scheme, i.e., constant dimension codes. These codes of the Grassmannian $\mathcal{G}_q(n,k)$ also form a family of $q$-analogs of block designs and they are called subspace designs. In this paper, we examine one of the last families of $q$-analogs of block designs which was not considered before. This family, called subspace packings, is the $q$-analog of packings, and was considered recently for network coding solution for a family of multicast networks called the generalized combination networks. A subspace packing $t$-$(n,k,λ)_q$ is a set $\mathcal{S}$ of $k$-subspaces from $\mathcal{G}_q(n,k)$ such that each $t$-subspace of $\mathcal{G}_q(n,t)$ is contained in at most $λ$ elements of $\mathcal{S}$. The goal of this work is to consider the largest size of such subspace packings. We derive a sequence of lower and upper bounds on the maximum size of such packings, analyse these bounds, and identify the important problems for further research in this area.

We improve on the lower bound of the maximum number of planes in $\operatorname{PG}(8,q)\cong\F_q^{9}$ pairwise intersecting in at most a point. In terms of constant dimension codes this leads to $A_q(9,4;3)\ge q^{12}+ 2q^8+2q^7+q^6+2q^5+2q^4-2q^2-2q+1$. This result is obtained via a more general construction strategy, which also yields other improvements.
A note on the linkage construction for constant dimension codes
Constant dimension codes are used for error control in random linear network coding, so that constructions for these codes with large cardinality have achieved wide attention in the last decade. Here, we improve the so-called linkage construction. Known upper bounds for constant dimension codes containing lifted MRD codes are generalized.

The minimum distance of all binary linear codes with dimension at most eight is known. The smallest open case for dimension nine is length $n=46$ with known bounds $19\le d\le 20$. Here we present a $[46,9,20]_2$ code and show its uniqueness. Interestingly enough, this unique optimal code is asymmetric, i.e., it has a trivial automorphism group. Additionally, we show the non-existence of $[47,10,20]_2$ and $[85,9,40]_2$ codes.

It is shown that there does not exist a binary projective triply-even code of length $59$. This settles the last open length for projective triply-even binary codes. Therefore, projective triply-even binary codes exist precisely for lengths $15$, $16$, $30$, $31$, $32$, $45$--$51$, and $\ge 60$.

Subspace codes, i.e., sets of subspaces of $\mathbb{F}_q^v$, are applied in random linear network coding. Here we give improved upper bounds for their cardinalities based on the Johnson bound for constant dimension codes.
$q$-analogs of group divisible designs

A well known class of objects in combinatorial design theory are {group divisible designs}. Here, we introduce the $q$-analogs of group divisible designs. It turns out that there are interesting connections to scattered subspaces, $q$-Steiner systems, design packings and $q^r$-divisible projective sets.
We give necessary conditions for the existence of $q$-analogs of group divsible designs, construct an infinite series of examples, and provide further existence results with the help of a computer search.
One example is a $(6,3,2,2)_2$ group divisible design over $\operatorname{GF}(2)$ which is a design packing consisting of $180$ blocks that such every $2$-dimensional subspace in $\operatorname{GF}(2)^6$ is covered at most twice.

Codes in finite projective spaces equipped with the subspace distance have been proposed for error control in random linear network coding. Here we collect the present knowledge on lower and upper bounds for binary subspace codes for projective dimensions of at most $7$. We obtain several improvements of the bounds and perform two classifications of optimal subspace codes, which are unknown so far in the literature.

A vector space partition $\mathcal{P}$ in $\mathbb{F}_q^v$ is a set of subspaces such that every $1$-dimensional subspace of $\mathbb{F}_q^v$ is contained in exactly one element of $\mathcal{P}$. Replacing "every point" by "every $t$-dimensional subspace", we generalize this notion to vector space $t$-partitions and study their properties. There is a close connection to subspace codes and some problems are even interesting and unsolved for the set case $q=1$.
Weighted Committee Games

Many binary collective choice situations can be described as weighted simple voting games. We introduce weighted committee games to model decisions on an arbitrary number of alternatives in analogous fashion. We compare the effect of different voting weights (share-holdings, party seats, etc.) under plurality, Borda, Copeland, and antiplurality rule. The number and geometry of weight equivalence classes differ widely across the rules. Decisions can be much more sensitive to weights in Borda committees than (anti-)plurality or Copeland ones.
Bounds for the Nakamura number

The Nakamura number is an appropriate invariant of a simple game to study the existence of social equilibria and the possibility of cycles. For symmetric quota games its number can be obtained by an easy formula. For some subclasses of simple games the corresponding Nakamura number has also been characterized. However, in general, not much is known about lower and upper bounds depending of invariants on simple, complete or weighted games. Here, we survey such results and highlight connections with other game theoretic concepts.

The maximum size $A_2(8,6;4)$ of a binary subspace code of packet length $v=8$, minimum subspace distance $d=6$, and constant dimension $k=4$ is $257$, where the $2$ isomorphism types are extended lifted maximum rank distance codes. In finite geometry terms the maximum number of solids in $\operatorname{PG}(7,2)$, mutually intersecting in at most a point, is $257$. The result was obtained by combining the classification of substructures with integer linear programming techniques. This implies that the maximum size $A_2(8,6)$ of a binary mixed-dimension code of packet length $8$ and minimum subspace distance $6$ is $257$ as well.
A subspace code of size $333$ in the setting of a binary $q$-analog of the Fano plane

We show that there is a binary subspace code of constant dimension 3 in ambient dimension 7, having minimum distance 4 and cardinality 333, i.e., $333 \le A_2(7,4;3)$, which improves the previous best known lower bound of 329. Moreover, if a code with these parameters has at least 333 elements, its automorphism group is in one of $31$ conjugacy classes. This is achieved by a more general technique for an exhaustive search in a finite group that does not depend on the enumeration of all subgroups.
Heden's bound on the tail of a vector space partition

A vector space partition of $\mathbb{F}_q^v$ is a collection of subspaces such that every non-zero vector is contained in a unique element. We improve a lower bound of Heden, in a subcase, on the number of elements of the smallest occurring dimension in a vector space partition. To this end, we introduce the notion of $q^r$-divisible sets of $k$-subspaces in $\mathbb{F}_q^v$. By geometric arguments we obtain non-existence results for these objects, which then imply the improved result of Heden.
On the lengths of divisible codes

In this article, the effective lengths of all $q^r$-divisible linear codes over $\mathbb{F}_q$ with a non-negative integer $r$ are determined. For that purpose, the $S_q(r)$-adic expansion of an integer $n$ is introduced. It is shown that there exists a $q^r$-divisible $\mathbb{F}_q$-linear code of effective length $n$ if and only if the leading coefficient of the $S_q(r)$-adic expansion of $n$ is non-negative. Furthermore, the maximum weight of a $q^r$-divisible code of effective length $n$ is at most $σq^r$, where $σ$ denotes the cross-sum of the $S_q(r)$-adic expansion of $n$. This result has applications in Galois geometries. A recent theorem of N{ă}stase and Sissokho on the maximum size of a partial spread follows as a corollary. Furthermore, we get an improvement of the Johnson bound for constant dimension subspace codes.

We study asymptotic lower and upper bounds for the sizes of constant dimension codes with respect to the subspace or injection distance, which is used in random linear network coding. In this context we review known upper bounds and show relations between them. A slightly improved version of the so-called linkage construction is presented which is e.g. used to construct constant dimension codes with subspace distance $d=4$, dimension $k=3$ of the codewords for all field sizes $q$, and sufficiently large dimensions $v$ of the ambient space, that exceed the MRD bound, for codes containing a lifted MRD code, by Etzion and Silberstein.
