On the homogeneity problem of the Kazhdan-Lusztig ideals
In this paper, we identify some sufficient conditions for a Kazhdan-Lusztig ideal to be inhomogeneous. Also, we attempt to approach the problem of giving some necessary and sufficient conditions for a Kazhdan-Lusztig ideal to be "standard homogeneous".
Multiplicity at any torus-fixed point in a Richardson variety in the Symplectic Grassmannian
We give a combinatorial description of the multiplicity at any torus fixed point on a Richardson variety in the Symplectic Grassmannian.
Initial ideals of tangent cones to Richardson varieties in the Symplectic Grassmannian
We give an explicit grobner basis for the ideal of the tangent cone at any T-fixed point of a Richardson variety in the Symplectic Grassmannian, thus generalizing a result of Ghorpade and Raghavan.
Local properties of Schubert Varieties in the Symplectic Grassmannian via a bounded RSK correspondence
In a paper by Ghorpade and Raghavan, they provide an explicit combinatorial description of the Hilbert function of the tangent cone at any point on a Schubert variety in the symplectic Grassmannian, by giving a certain "degree-preserving" bijection between a set of monomials defined by an initial ideal and a "standard monomial basis". We prove here that this bijection is in fact a bounded RSK correspondence.
Irrational HK multiplicities are possible for trinomial hyper surfaces
A `trinomial hyper surface' is defined in §1 below. In this article, I provide a supportive reasoning towards the fact that there can be examples of trinomial hyper surfaces (at least over fields of characteristic 2) for which the corresponding Hilbert-Kunz multiplicity can become irrational.
A rank computation problem related to the HK function of trinomial hypersurfaces
In this article, I provide a solution to a rank computation problem related to the computation of the Hilbert-Kunz function for any disjoint-term trinomial hypersurface, over any field of characteristic 2. This rank computation problem was posed in Upadhyay (arXiv:1204.5417). The formula for the Hilbert-Kunz function for disjoint-term trinomial hypersurfaces can be deduced from the result(s) of this article, modulo a lot of tedious notation.
An algorithm for the HK function for disjoint-term trinomial hypersurfaces
A `trinomial hypersurface' is a hypersurface that is defined by a single polynomial having 3 non-constant terms in it and no constant term. A `disjoint-term trinomial hypersurface' is a trinomial hypersurface whose defining polynomial has the property that any 2 distinct terms in it have GCD equal to 1. In this article, I provide an algorithm for computing the Hilbert-Kunz function for any disjoint-term trinomial hypersurface in general, over any field of arbitrary positive characteristic. However, I do not provide any formula for the Hilbert-Kunz function.

In this article, I give an iterative closed form formula for the Hilbert-Kunz function for any binomial hypersurface in general, over any feild of arbitrary positive characteristic. I prove that the Hilbert-Kunz multiplicity associated to any Binomial Hypersurface over any field of arbitrary positive characteristic is rational. As an example, I also prove the well known fact that for 1-dimensional Binomial Hypersurfaces, the Hilbert-Kunz multiplicity is a positive integer and give a precise account of the integer.

A Richardson variety $X_\ga^\gc$ in the Orthogonal Grassmannian is defined to be the intersection of a Schubert variety $X^\gc$ in the Orthogonal Grassmannian and a opposite Schubert variety $X_\ga$ therein. We give an explicit description of the initial ideal (with respect to certain conveniently chosen term order) for the ideal of the tangent cone at any $T$-fixed point of $X_\ga^\gc$, thus generalizing a result of Raghavan-Upadhyay \cite{Ra-Up2}. Our proof is based on a generalization of the Robinson-Schensted-Knuth (RSK) correspondence, which we call the Orthogonal bounded RSK (OBRSK). The OBRSK correspondence will give a degree-preserving bijection between a set of monomials defined by the initial ideal of the ideal of the tangent cone (as mentioned above) and a `standard monomial basis'. A similar work for Richardson varieties in the ordinary Grassmannian was done by Kreiman in \cite{Kr-bkrs}.

We compute the initial ideals, with respect to certain conveniently chosen term orders, of ideals of tangent cones at torus fixed points to Schubert varieties in orthogonal Grassmannians. The initial ideals turn out to be square-free monomial ideals and therefore Stanley-Reisner face rings of simplicial complexes. We describe these complexes. The maximal faces of these complexes encode certain sets of non-intersecting lattice paths.

A solution is given to the following problem: how to compute the multiplicity, or more generally the Hilbert function, at a point on a Schubert variety in an orthogonal Grassmannian. Standard monomial theory is applied to translate the problem from geometry to combinatorics. The solution of the resulting combinatorial problem forms the bulk of the paper. This approach has been followed earlier to solve the same problem for the Grassmannian and the symplectic Grassmannian.
As an application, we present an interpretation of the multiplicity as the number of non-intersecting lattice paths of a certain kind.
Taking the Schubert variety to be of a special kind and the point to be the "identity coset," our problem specializes to a problem about Pfaffian ideals treatments of which by different methods exist in the literature. Also available in the literature is a geometric solution when the point is a "generic singularity."
