In this paper, we classify the $m$-ovoids of finite classical polar spaces that admit a transitive automorphism group acting irreducibly on the ambient vector space. In particular, we obtain several new infinite families of transitive $m$-ovoids.
The structure of maximal non-trivial d-wise intersecting uniform families with large sizes

For a positive integer $d\geq 2$, a family $\mathcal F\subseteq \binom{[n]}{k}$ is said to be d-wise intersecting if $|F_1\cap F_2\cap \dots\cap F_d|\geq 1$ for all $F_1, F_2, \dots ,F_d\in \mathcal F$. A d-wise intersecting family $\mathcal F\subseteq \binom{[n]}{k}$ is called maximal if $\mathcal F\cup\{A\}$ is not d-wise intersecting for any $A\in\binom{[n]}{k}\setminus\mathcal F$. We provide a refinement of O'Neill and Verstraëte's Theorem about the structure of the largest and the second largest maximal non-trivial d-wise intersecting k-uniform families. We also determine the structure of the third largest and the fourth largest maximal non-trivial d-wise intersecting k-uniform families for any $k>d+1\geq 4$, and the fifth largest and the sixth largest maximal non-trivial 3-wise intersecting k-uniform families for any $k\geq 5$, in the asymptotic sense. Our proofs are applications of the $Δ$-system method.
On finite generalized quadrangles of even order

In this paper, we establish the following two results: (1) a skew translation generalized quadrangle of even order is a translation generalized quadrangle, (2) a generalized quadrangle of even order does not admit a point regular automorphism group. The first result confirms a conjecture of Payne (1975) based on earlier work of Ott (2021), and the second result confirms a conjecture of Ghinelli (1992).

Let $\mathcal{S}$ be a finite thick generalized quadrangle, and suppose that $G$ is an automorphism group of $\mathcal{S}$. If $G$ acts primitively on both the points and lines of $\mathcal{S}$, then it is known that $G$ must be almost simple. In this paper, we show that if the socle of $G$ is $\mathrm{PSL}(2,q)$ with $q\geq4$, then $q=9$ and $\mathcal{S}$ is the unique generalized quadrangle of order $2$.
The existence of cyclic (v,4,1)-designs

Even though Peltesohn proved that a cyclic (v,3,1)-design exists if and only if $v\equiv 1,3\pmod{6}$ as early as 1939, the problem of determining the spectrum of cyclic (v,k,1)-designs with k>3 is far from being settled, even for k=4. This paper shows that a cyclic (v,4,1)-design exists if and only if $v\equiv 1,4\pmod{12}$ and $v\not\in\{16,25,28\}$.
The chromatic index of finite projective spaces

A line coloring of PG$(n,q)$, the $n$-dimensional projective space over GF$(q)$, is an assignment of colors to all lines of PG$(n,q)$ so that any two lines with the same color do not intersect. The chromatic index of PG$(n,q)$, denoted by $χ'(PG(n,q))$, is the least number of colors for which a coloring of PG$(n,q)$ exists. This paper translates the problem of determining the chromatic index of PG$(n,q)$ to the problem of examining the existences of PG$(3,q)$ and PG$(4,q)$ with certain properties. In particular, it is shown that for any odd integer $n$ and $q\in\{3,4,8,16\}$, $χ'(PG(n,q))=(q^n-1)/(q-1)$, which implies the existence of a parallelism of PG$(n,q)$ for any odd integer $n$ and $q\in\{3,4,8,16\}$.
Perfect state transfer on bi-Cayley graphs over abelian groups

The study of perfect state transfer on graphs has attracted a great deal of attention during the past ten years because of its applications to quantum information processing and quantum computation. Perfect state transfer is understood to be a rare phenomenon. This paper establishes necessary and sufficient conditions for a bi-Cayley graph having perfect state transfer over any given finite abelian group. As corollaries, many known and new results are obtained on Cayley graphs having perfect state transfer over abelian groups, (generalized) dihedral groups, semi-dihedral groups and generalized quaternion groups. Especially, we give an example of a connected non-normal Cayley graph over a dihedral group having perfect state transfer between two distinct vertices, which was thought impossible.

In this paper, we construct new families of flag-transitive linear spaces with $q^{2n}$ points and $q^{2}$ points on each line that admit a one-dimensional affine automorphism group. We achieve this by building a natural connection with permutation polynomials of $\mathbb{F}_{q^{2}}$ of a particular form and following the scheme of Pauley and Bamberg in [A construction of one-dimensional affine flag-transitive linear spaces, Finite Fields Appl. 14 (2008) 537-548].

Bounds for the multilevel construction
One of the main problems in random network coding is to compute good lower and upper bounds on the achievable cardinality of the so-called subspace codes in the projective space $\mathcal{P}_q(n)$ for a given minimum distance. The determination of the exact maximum cardinality is a very tough discrete optimization problem involving a huge number of symmetries. Besides some explicit constructions for \textit{good} subspace codes several of the most success full constructions involve the solution of discrete optimization subproblems itself, which mostly have not been not been solved systematically. Here we consider the multilevel a.k.a.\ Echelon--Ferrers construction and given lower and upper bounds for the achievable cardinalities. From a more general point of view, we solve maximum clique problems in weighted graphs, where the weights can be polynomials in the field size $q$.

In this paper, we resolve a conjecture of Green and Liebeck [Disc. Math., 343 (8):117119, 2019] on codes in $PGL(2,q)$. To be specific, we show that: if $D$ is a dihedral subgroup of order $2(q+1)$ in $G=PGL(2,q)$, and $A=\{g\in G: g^{q+1}= 1,\, g^2\ne 1 \}$, then $λG=A\cdot D$, where $λ=q$ or $q-1$ according as $q$ is even or odd.
A construction of minimal linear codes from partial difference sets

In this paper, we study a class of linear codes defined by characteristic functions of certain subsets of a finite field. We derive a sufficient and necessary condition for such a code to be a minimal linear code by a character-theoretical approach. We obtain new three-weight or four-weight minimal linear codes that do not satisfy the Ashikhmin-Barg condition by using partial difference sets. We show that our construction yields minimal linear codes that do not arise from cutting vectorial blocking sets, and also discuss their applications in secret sharing schemes.
Cameron-Liebler Line Classes with parameter $x=\frac{(q+1)^2}{3}$

Cameron-Liebler line classes were introduced in \cite{CL}, and motivated by a question about orbits of collineation groups of $\PG(3,q)$. These line classes have appeared in different contexts under disguised names such as Boolean degree one functions, regular codes of covering radius one, and tight sets. In this paper we construct an infinite family of Cameron-Liebler line classes in $\PG(3,q)$ with new parameter $x=(q+1)^2/3$ for all prime powers $q$ congruent to 2 modulo 3. The examples obtained when $q$ is an odd power of two represent the first infinite family of Cameron-Liebler line classes in $\PG(3,q)$, $q$ even.
Novák's conjecture on cyclic Steiner triple systems and its generalization

Novák conjectured in 1974 that for any cyclic Steiner triple systems of order $v$ with $v\equiv 1\pmod{6}$, it is always possible to choose one block from each block orbit so that the chosen blocks are pairwise disjoint. We consider the generalization of this conjecture to cyclic $(v,k,λ)$-designs with $1 \leq λ\leq k-1$. Superimposing multiple copies of a cyclic symmetric design shows that the generalization cannot hold for all $v$, but we conjecture that it holds whenever $v$ is sufficiently large compared to $k$. We confirm that the generalization of the conjecture holds when $v$ is prime and $λ=1$ and also when $λ\leq (k-1)/2$ and $v$ is sufficiently large compared to $k$. As a corollary, we show that for any $k \geq 3$, with the possible exception of finitely many composite orders $v$, every cyclic $(v,k,1)$-design without short orbits is generated by a $(v,k,1)$-disjoint difference family.

Partitionable sets, almost partitionable sets and their applications

This paper introduces almost partitionable sets to generalize the known concept of partitionable sets. These notions provide a unified frame to construct $\mathbb{Z}$-cyclic patterned starter whist tournaments and cyclic balanced sampling plans excluding contiguous units. The existences of partitionable sets and almost partitionable sets are investigated. As an application, a large number of optical orthogonal codes achieving the Johnson bound or the Johnson bound minus one are constructed.
Parallel multilevel constructions for constant dimension codes

Constant dimension codes (CDCs), as special subspace codes, have received a lot of attention due to their application in random network coding. This paper introduces a family of new codes, called rank metric codes with given ranks (GRMCs), to generalize the parallel construction in [Xu and Chen, IEEE Trans. Inf. Theory, 64 (2018), 6315--6319] and the classic multilevel construction. A Singleton-like upper bound and a lower bound for GRMCs derived from Gabidulin codes are given. Via GRMCs, two effective constructions for CDCs are presented by combining the parallel construction and the multilevel construction. Many CDCs with larger size than the previously best known codes are given. The ratio between the new lower bound and the known upper bound for $(4δ,2δ,2δ)_q$-CDCs is calculated. It is greater than 0.99926 for any prime power $q$ and any $δ\geq 3$.

In this paper, we consider regular automorphism groups of graphs in the RT$2$ family and the Davis-Xiang family and amorphic abelian Cayley schemes from these graphs. We derive general results on the existence of non-abelian regular automorphism groups from abelian regular automorphism groups and apply them to the RT$2$ family and Davis-Xiang family and their amorphic abelian Cayley schemes to produce amorphic non-abelian Cayley schemes.
Triangle decompositions of $λK_v-λK_w-λK_u$
Denote by $λK_v$ the complete graph of order $v$ with multiplicity $λ$. Let $λK_v-λK_w-λK_u$ be the graph obtained from $λK_v$ by the removal of the edges of two vertex disjoint complete multi-subgraphs with multiplicity $ λ$ of orders $ w $ and $ u $, respectively. When $λ$ is odd, it is shown that there exists a triangle decomposition of $λK_v-λK_w-λK_u$ if and only if $v\geq w+u+\max\{u,w\}$, $ λ\left({v\choose 2}-{u\choose 2}-{w\choose 2}\right) \equiv 0 \pmod 3$ and $λ(v-w) \equiv λ(v-u) \equiv λ(v-1) \equiv 0 \pmod 2$. When $λ$ is even, it is shown that for large enough $v$, the elementary necessary conditions for the existence of a triangle decomposition of $λK_v-λK_w-λK_u$ are also sufficient.

In this paper, we develop a new method for constructing $m$-ovoids in the symplectic polar space $\W(2r-1,\q)$ from some strongly regular Cayley graphs in \cite{Brouwer1999Journal}. Using this method, we obtain many new $m$-ovoids which can not be derived by field reduction.
