Let $\H$ be a unimodular hypergraph over the vertex set $[n]$ and let $J(\H)$ be the cover ideal of $\H$ in the polynomial ring $R=K[x_1,\ldots,x_n]$. We show that $\reg J(\H)^s$ is a linear function in $s$ for all $s\geqslant r\left\lceil \frac{n}{2}\right\rceil+1$ where $r$ is the rank of $\H$. Moreover for every $i$, $a_i(R/J(\H)^s)$ is also a linear function in $s$ for $s \geqslant n^2$.
Ballot tilings and increasing trees
We study enumerations of Dyck and ballot tilings, which are tilings of a region determined by two Dyck or ballot paths. We give bijective proofs to two formulae of enumerations of Dyck tilings through Hermite histories. We show that one of the formulae is equal to a certain Kazhdan--Lusztig polynomial. For a ballot tiling, we establish formulae which are analogues of formulae for Dyck tilings. Especially, the generating functions have factorized expressions. The key tool is a planted plane tree and its increasing labellings. We also introduce a generalized perfect matching which is bijective to an Hermite history for a ballot tiling. By combining these objects, we obtain various expressions of a generating function of ballot tilings with a fixed lower path.

Irreducibility results for parabolic induction of representations of the general linear group over a local non-archimedean field can be formulated in terms of Kazhdan--Lusztig polynomials of type $A$. Spurred by these results and some computer calculations, we conjecture that certain alternating sums of Kazhdan--Lusztig polynomials known as parabolic Kazhdan--Lusztig polynomials satisfy properties analogous to those of the ordinary ones.

The main result of the paper is a construction of a five-parameter family of new bases in the algebra of symmetric functions. These bases are inhomogeneous and share many properties of systems of orthogonal polynomials on an interval of the real line. This means, in particular, that the algebra of symmetric functions is embedded into the algebra of continuous functions on a certain compact space Omega, and under this realization, our bases turn into orthogonal bases of weighted Hilbert spaces corresponding to certain probability measures on Omega. These measures are of independent interest --- they are an infinite-dimensional analogue of the multidimensional q-Beta distributions. Our construction uses the big q-Jacobi polynomials and an extension of the Knop-Okounkov-Sahi multivariate interpolation polynomials to the case of infinite number of variables.
Holomorphic primary fields in free CFT4 and Calabi-Yau orbifolds

Counting formulae for general primary fields in free four dimensional conformal field theories of scalars, vectors and matrices are derived. These are specialised to count primaries which obey extremality conditions defined in terms of the dimensions and left or right spins (i.e. in terms of relations between the charges under the Cartan subgroup of $SO(4,2)$). The construction of primary fields for scalar field theory is mapped to a problem of determining multi-variable polynomials subject to a system of symmetry and differential constraints. For the extremal primaries, we give a construction in terms of holomorphic polynomial functions on permutation orbifolds, which are shown to be Calabi-Yau spaces.

Let $Φ= (φ_1,\dots,φ_6)$ be a system of $6$ linear forms in $3$ variables, i.e. $φ_i \colon \mathbb{Z}^3 \to \mathbb{Z}$ for each $i$. Suppose also that $Φ$ has Cauchy--Schwarz complexity $2$ and true complexity $1$, in the sense defined by Gowers and Wolf; in fact this is true generically in this setting. Finally let $G = \mathbb{F}_p^n$ for any $p$ prime and $n \ge 1$. Then we show that multilinear averages by $Φ$ are controlled by the $U^2$-norm, with a polynomial dependence; i.e. if $f_1,\dots,f_6 \colon G \to \mathbb{C}$ are functions with $\|f_i\|_{\infty} \le 1$ for each $i$, then for each $j$, $1 \le j \le 6$:
\[
\left| \mathbb{E}_{x_1,x_2,x_3 \in G} f_1(\varphi_1(x_1,x_2,x_3)) \dots f_6(φ_6(x_1,x_2,x_3)) \right| \le \|f_j\|_{U^2}^{1/C}
\] for some $C > 0$ depending on $Φ$. This recovers and strengthens a result of Gowers and Wolf in these cases. Moreover, the proof uses only multiple applications of the Cauchy--Schwarz inequality, avoiding appeals to the inverse theory of the Gowers norms.
We also show that some dependence of $C$ on $Φ$ is necessary; that is, the constant $C$ can unavoidably become large as the coefficients of $Φ$ grow.

In this paper we study the structure of $θ$-cyclic codes over the ring $B_k$ including its connection to quasi-$\tildeθ$-cyclic codes over finite field $\mathbb{F}_{p^r}$ and skew polynomial rings over $B_k.$ We also characterize Euclidean self-dual $θ$-cyclic codes over the rings. Finally, we give the generator polynomial for such codes and some examples of optimal Euclidean $θ$-cyclic codes.
Chamber structure for some equivariant relative Gromov-Witten invariants of $\mathbb{P}^1$ in genus $0$

In this paper, we study genus $0$ equivariant relative Gromov-Witten invariants of $\mathbb{P}^1$ whose corresponding relative stable maps are totally ramified over one point. For fixed number of marked points, we show that such invariants are piecewise polynomials in some parameter space. The parameter space can then be divided into polynomial domains, called chambers. We determine the difference of polynomials between two neighboring chambers. In some special chamber, which we called the totally negative chamber, we show that such a polynomial can be expressed in a simple way. The chamber structure here shares some similarities to that of double Hurwitz numbers.

A matrix approach to the Yang multiplication theorem
In this paper, we use two-variable Laurent polynomials attached to matrices to encode properties of compositions of sequences. The Lagrange identity in the ring of Laurent polynomials is then used to give a short and transparent proof of a theorem about the Yang multiplication.
Interior polynomial for signed bipartite graphs and the HOMFLY polynomial

The interior polynomial is an invariant of bipartite graphs, and a part of the HOMFLY polynomial of a special alternating link coincides with the interior polynomial of the Seifert graph of the link. We extend the interior polynomial to signed bipartite graphs, and we show that, in the planar case, it is equal to a part of the HOMFLY polynomial of a naturally associated link. We also establish some other, more basic properties of this new notion. This leads to new identities involving the original interior polynomial.

A modular semilattice is a semilattice generalization of a modular lattice. We establish a Birkhoff-type representation theorem for modular semilattices, which says that every modular semilattice is isomorphic to the family of ideals in a certain poset with additional relations. This new poset structure, which we axiomatize in this paper, is called a PPIP (projective poset with inconsistent pairs). A PPIP is a common generalization of a PIP (poset with inconsistent pairs) and a projective ordered space. The former was introduced by Barthélemy and Constantin for establishing Birkhoff-type theorem for median semilattices, and the latter by Herrmann, Pickering, and Roddy for modular lattices. We show the $Θ(n)$ representation complexityand a construction algorithm for PPIP-representations of $(\wedge, \vee)$-closed sets in the product $L^n$ of modular semilattice $L$. This generalizes the results of Hirai and Oki for a special median semilattice $S_k$. We also investigate implicational bases for modular semilattices. Extending earlier results of Wild and Herrmann for modular lattices, we determine optimal implicational bases and develop a polynomial time recognition algorithm for modular semilattices. These results can be applied to retain the minimizer set of a submodular function on a modular semilattice.

A meander is a topological configuration of a line and a simple closed curve in the plane (or a pair of simple closed curves on the 2-sphere) intersecting transversally. Meanders can be traced back to H. Poincaré and naturally appear in various areas of mathematics, theoretical physics and computational biology (in particular, they provide a model of polymer folding). Enumeration of meanders is an important open problem. The number of meanders with 2N crossings grows exponentially when N grows, but the longstanding problem on the precise asymptotics is still out of reach. We show that the situation becomes more tractable if one additionally fixes the topological type (or the total number of minimal arcs) of a meander. Then we are able to derive simple asymptotic formulas for the numbers of meanders as N tends to infinity. We also compute the asymptotic probability of getting a simple closed curve on a sphere by identifying the endpoints of two arc systems (one on each of the two hemispheres) along the common equator. The new tools we bring to bear are based on interpretation of meanders as square-tiled surfaces with one horizontal and one vertical cylinders. The proofs combine recent results on Masur-Veech volumes of the moduli spaces of meromorphic quadratic differentials in genus zero with our new observation that horizontal and vertical separatrix diagrams of integer quadratic differentials are asymptotically uncorrelated. The additional combinatorial constraints we impose in this article yield explicit polynomial asymptotics.

To classify the lattice polytopes with a given $δ$-polynomial is an important open problem in Ehrhart theory. A complete classification of the Gorenstein simplices whose normalized volumes are prime integers is known. In particular, their $δ$-polynomials are of the form $1+t^k+\cdots+t^{(v-1)k}$, where $k$ and $v$ are positive integers. In the present paper, a complete classification of the Gorenstein simplices with the above $δ$-polynomials will be performed, when $v$ is either $p^2$ or $pq$, where $p$ and $q$ are prime integers with $p \neq q$. Moreover, we consider the number of Gorenstein simplices, up to unimodular equivalence, with the expected $δ$-polynomial.
A $q$-deformation of the symplectic Schur functions and the Berele insertion algorithm

A randomisation of the Berele insertion algorithm is proposed, where the insertion of a letter to a symplectic Young tableau leads to a distribution over the set of symplectic Young tableaux. Berele's algorithm provides a bijection between words from an alphabet and a symplectic Young tableau along with a recording oscillating tableau. The randomised version of the algorithm is achieved by introducing a parameter $0 < q < 1$. The classic Berele algorithm corresponds to letting the parameter $q \to 0$. The new version provides a probabilistic framework that allows to prove Littlewood-type identities for a $q$-deformation of the symplectic Schur functions. These functions correspond to multilevel extensions of the continuous $q$-Hermite polynomials. Finally, we show that when both the original and the $q$-modified insertion algorithms are applied to a random word then the shape of the symplectic Young tableau evolves as a Markov chain on the set of partitions.

For any given graph G = (V,E) we define in a certain way a new graph G(x,y,z) with the vertex set V\cup E depending on parameters x,y,z from {0,1, +, -} and call graph G(x,y,z) the (x,y,z)-transformation of G. It turns out that if G is an r-regular graph, then the Laplacian polynomial of G(x,y,z) is a function of |V|, r, and the Laplacian spectrum of G. We give a complete description of this function.

We develop general counting formulae for primary fields in free four dimensional (4D) scalar conformal field theory (CFT). Using a duality map between primary operators in scalar field theory and multi-variable polynomial functions subject to differential constraints, we identify a sector of holomorphic primary fields corresponding to polynomial functions on a class of permutation orbifolds. These orbifolds have palindromic Hilbert series, which indicates they are Calabi-Yau. We construct the top-dimensional holomorphic form expected from the Calabi-Yau property. This sector includes and extends previous constructions of infinite families of primary fields. We sketch the generalization of these results to free 4D vector and matrix CFTs.
A Boltzmann approach to percolation on random triangulations

We study the percolation model on Boltzmann triangulations using a generating function approach. More precisely, we consider a Boltzmann model on the set of finite planar triangulations, together with a percolation configuration (either site-percolation or bond-percolation) on this triangulation. By enumerating triangulations with boundaries according to both the boundary length and the number of vertices/edges on the boundary, we are able to identify a phase transition for the geometry of the origin cluster. For instance, we show that the probability that a percolation interface has length n decays exponentially with n except at a particular value p\_c of the percolation parameter p for which the decay is polynomial (of order n --10/3). Moreover, the probability that the origin cluster has size n decays exponentially if p < p c and polynomially if p $\ge$ p\_c. The critical percolation value is p\_c = 1/2 for site percolation, and p c = 2 $\sqrt$ 3--1 11 for bond percolation. These values coincide with critical percolation thresholds for infinite triangula-tions identified by Angel for site-percolation, and by Angel \& Curien for bond-percolation, and we give an independent derivation of these percolation thresholds. Lastly, we revisit the criticality conditions for random Boltzmann maps, and argue that at p\_c , the percolation clusters conditioned to have size n should converge toward the stable map of parameter 7 6 introduced by Le Gall \& Miermont. This enables us to derive heuristically some new critical exponents.
Automatic discovery of structural rules of permutation classes

We introduce an algorithm that conjectures the structure of a permutation class in the form of a disjoint cover of "rules"; similar to generalized grid classes. The cover is usually easily verified by a human and translated into an enumeration. The algorithm is successful on different inputs than other algorithms and can succeed with any polynomial permutation class. We apply it to every non-polynomial permutation class avoiding a set of length four patterns. The structures found by the algorithm can sometimes allow an enumeration of the permutation class with respect to permutation statistics, as well as choosing a permutation uniformly at random from the permutation class. We sketch a new algorithm formalizing the human verification of the conjectured covers.

We consider systems A_\ell(t) y(q^\ell t) + ... + A_0(t) y(t) = b(t) of higher order q-recurrence equations with rational coefficients. We extend a method for finding a bound on the maximal power of t in the denominator of arbitrary rational solutions y(t) as well as a method for bounding the degree of polynomial solutions from the scalar case to the systems case. The approach is direct and does not rely on uncoupling or reduction to a first order system. Unlike in the scalar case this usually requires an initial transformation of the system.
