Explicit description of certain 3-point K-theoretic Gromov-Witten invariants for flag manifolds
We give an explicit description, in terms of the quantum Bruhat graph, of the (torus-equivariant) 3-point, genus 0, $K$-theoretic Gromov-Witten invariants $\langle \mathcal{O}(- λ), \mathcal{O}^{w}, \mathcal{O}_{u} \rangle_{d}$ for the (full) flag manifold $X = G/B$, where $\mathcal{O}(- λ)$ denotes the class in the (torus-equivariant) $K$-theory ring $K_{T}(X)$ of $X$ of the line bundle $\mathcal{O}_{X}(- λ) = G \times_{B} \mathbb{C}_λ$ over $X = G/B$ associated to a weight $λ\in W \varpi_i$ lying in the Weyl group orbit of a minuscule fundamental weight $\varpi_i$, and $\mathcal{O}_{u}$, $\mathcal{O}^{w}$ are the Schubert and opposite Schubert classes in $K_{T}(X)$ for $u, w \in W$. This result can be thought of as a partial generalization of the quantum $K$-theoretic divisor axiom, which we obtained in our previous work; our proof utilizes a generalization of the Chevalley formula in the (torus-equivariant) quantum $K$-theory ring $QK_{T}(X)$ of $X$, which computes the quantum product with the line bundle class $\mathcal{O}(- λ)$ associated to the weight $λ$ above.
Equivariant Quantum Cohomology of Grassmannians via the Clifford algebra
We construct an explicit equivariant quantum Satake map for Grassmannians, which enables us to express their torus-equivariant quantum cohomology in terms of that of projective space. We then consider the exterior algebra of the latter, which admits a canonical identification with a Clifford algebra. We describe the resulting action in several complementary ways: first, from a geometric perspective via push-pull maps, and second, in terms of the shuffle product, which also arises in the simplest cohomological Hall algebra associated with the $A_1$-quiver. Exploiting the Clifford algebra structure, we derive new recurrence relations among equivariant Gromov-Witten invariants, yielding a new method for their computation in terms of Wick's Theorem. As an application, we provide combinatorial proofs of Graham positivity for both equivariant quantum Pieri rules, and in one case extend these results to quantum triple Schubert calculus.
Tropical Methods for Counting Plane Curves -- Complex, Real and Quadratically Enriched
Since the first famous correspondence theorem by Mikhalkin appeared in 2005, tropical geometry has allowed a parallel treatment of real and complex counting problems. A prime example are the genus 0 Gromov-Witten invariants of the plane which count rational plane curves of degree d satisfying point conditions and their real counterpart, the Welschinger invariants, which both can be determined using tropical methods. Remarkably, the tropical computation of the two types of invariants works entirely in parallel. Recently, quadratically enriched enumerative geometry enables us to combine such real and complex counts under one roof, providing a simultaneous approach which can also be used for counts over other fields. Tropical geometry is a successful tool for the study and computation of such quadratically enriched enumerative invariants, too. In this survey, we provide an overview of tropical methods for plane curve counting problems over the real and complex numbers, and the new quadratically enriched counts.
The central heat trace on large compact classical groups
We establish the large-$N$ asymptotic expansion of the (central) trace of the heat kernel on any compact classical group $G_N\subset\mathrm{GL}_N(\mathbb{C})$, which extends a previous result known only for $\mathrm{U}(N)$ \cite{LM2}. It admits two new interpretations of the trace: in terms of ramified coverings of the torus, and Gromov-Witten invariants on elliptic curves. These connections allow us to explore several aspects of the gauge/string duality in two dimensions: a Yang-Mills/Hurwitz duality, and Yang-Mills/Gromov-Witten duality.
Tropical super Gromov-Witten invariants
We show that super Gromov-Witten invariants can be defined and computed by methods of tropical geometry. When the target is a point, the super invariants are descendant invariants on the moduli space of curves, which can be computed tropically. When the target is a convex, toric variety $X$, we describe a procedure to compute the tropical Euler class of the SUSY normal bundle $\overline{N}_{n, β}$ on $\overline{\mathcal{M}}_{0,n}(X, β)$, assuming it is locally tropicalizable in the sense of [CG], [CGM]. Then, we define the tropical, genus-0, $n$-marked, super Gromov-Witten invariant of $X$, and compute an example. This gives a tropical interpretation of super Gromov-Witten invariants of convex, toric varieties.
Quantum $K$-theoretic divisor axiom for flag manifolds
We prove an identity for (torus-equivariant) 3-point, genus 0, $K$-theoretic Gromov-Witten invariants of flag manifolds $G/P$, which can be thought of as a replacement for the ``divisor axiom'' in their (torus-equivariant) quantum $K$-theory. This identity enables us to compute these invariants when two insertions are Schubert classes and the other a Schubert divisor class. Our type-independent proof utilizes the Chevalley formula for the (torus-equivariant) quantum $K$-theory ring of flag manifolds, which computes multiplications by Schubert divisor classes in terms of the quantum Bruhat graph.
Positivity of generalized cluster scattering diagrams
We introduce a new class of combinatorial objects, named tight gradings, which are certain nonnegative integer-valued functions on maximal Dyck paths. Using tight gradings, we derive a manifestly positive formula for any wall-function in a rank-2 generalized cluster scattering diagram. We further prove that any consistent rank-2 scattering diagram is positive with respect to the coefficients of initial wall-functions. Moreover, our formula yields explicit expressions for relative Gromov-Witten invariants on weighted projective planes and the Euler characteristics of moduli spaces of framed stable representations on complete bipartite quivers. Finally, by leveraging the rank-2 positivity, we show that any higher-rank generalized cluster scattering diagram has positive wall-functions, which leads to a proof of the positivity of the Laurent phenomenon and the strong positivity of Chekhov-Shapiro's generalized cluster algebras.
Quadratically Enriched Plane Curve Counting via Tropical Geometry
We prove that the quadratically enriched count of rational curves in a smooth toric del Pezzo surface passing through $k$-rational points and pairs of conjugate points in quadratic field extensions $k\subset k(\sqrt{d_i})$ can be determined by counting certain tropical stable maps through vertically stretched point conditions with a suitable multiplicity. Building on the floor diagram technique in tropical geometry, we provide an algorithm to compute these numbers.
Our tropical algorithm computes not only these new quadratically enriched enumerative invariants, but simultaneously also the complex Gromov-Witten invariant, the real Welschinger invariant counting curves satisfying real point conditions only, the real Welschinger invariant of curves satisfying pairs of complex conjugate and real point conditions, and the quadratically enriched count of curves satisfying $k$-rational point conditions.
Combinatorial Göttsche-Schroeter invariants in any genus
Göttsche-Schroeter invariants are a genus 0 extension of Block-Göttsche invariants. They interpolate between Welschinger invariants involving pairs of complex conjugated points and genus 0 descendant Gromov-Witten invariants. They can be computed by a floor diagram algorithm.
In this paper, we show that this floor diagrams recipe actually leads to some invariants in any genus. This generalizes Göttsche-Schroter invariant in higher genus in a combinatorial way. We then prove some polynomiality result and establish a link with invariants defined by Shustin and Sinichkin. We provide many examples. In particular, we conjecture that these combinatorial invariants satisfy the Abramovich-Bertram formula.

In this paper, we examine the unimodality and strict unimodality of certain formal bivariate Laurent series with non-negative coefficients. We show that the sets of these formal bivariate Laurent series form commutative semirings under the operations of addition and multiplication of formal Laurent series. This result is used to establish the unimodality of sequences involving Gauss polynomials and certain refined color partitions. In particular, we solve an open problem posed by Andrews on the unimodality of generalized Gauss polynomials and establish an unimodal result for a statistic of plane partitions. We also establish many unimodal results for rank statistics in partition theory, including the rank statistics of concave and convex compositions studied by Andrews, as well as certain unimodal sequences studied by Kim-Lim-Lovejoy. Additionally, we establish the unimodality of the Betti numbers and Gromov-Witten invariants of certain Hilbert schemes of points.
Gromov-Witten Invariants of Bielliptic Surfaces
Bielliptic surfaces appear as quotient of a product of two elliptic curves and were classified by Bagnera-Franchis. We give a concrete way of computing their GW-invariants with point insertions using a floor diagram algorithm. Using the latter, we are able to prove the quasi-modularity of their generating series by relating them to generating series of graphs for which we also prove quasi-modularity results. We propose a refinement of these invariants by inserting a λ-class in the considered GW-invariants.
Algorithms for Gromov-Witten Invariants of Elliptic Curves
We present an enhanced algorithm for exploring mirror symmetry for elliptic curves through the correspondence of algebraic and tropical geometry, focusing on Gromov-Witten invariants of elliptic curves and, in particular, Hurwitz numbers. We present a new highly efficient algorithm for computing generating series for these numbers. We have implemented the algorithm both using Singular and OSCAR. The implementations outperform by far the current method provided in Singular. The OSCAR implementation, benefiting in particular from just-in-time compilation, again by far outperforms the implementation of the new algorithm in Singular. This advancement in computing the Gromov-Witten invariants facilitates a study of number theoretic and geometric properties of the generating series, including quasi-modularity and homogeneity.
Quantum Bruhat graphs and tilted Richardson varieties
Quantum Bruhat graph is a weighted directed graph on a finite Weyl group first defined by Brenti-Fomin-Postnikov. It encodes quantum Monk's rule and can be utilized to study the $3$-point Gromov-Witten invariants of the flag variety. In this paper, we provide an explicit formula for the minimal weights between any pair of permutations on the quantum Bruhat graph, and consequently obtain an Ehresmann-like characterization for the tilted Bruhat order. Moreover, for any ordered pair of permutations $u$ and $v$, we define the tilted Richardson variety $T_{u,v}$, with a stratification that gives a geometric meaning to intervals in the tilted Bruhat order. We provide a few equivalent definitions to this new family of varieties that include Richardson varieties, and establish some fundamental geometric properties including their dimensions and closure relations.
Stationary Descendents and the Discriminant Modular Form
The generating functions of stationary descendent Gromov-Witten invariants of an elliptic curve are known to be Fourier expansions of quasimodular forms. When one restricts to the subspace of forms of a fixed weight $k$, there is an abundance of linear relations among these generating functions. This naturally leads one to study the resulting linear matroid, which we refer to as the descendent matroid of weight $k$. In the case of weight 12, we use this matroid to compute and organize all of the ways to express the discriminant modular form in terms of stationary descendents. As a consequence, we find a closed-form expression of Ramanujan tau values in terms of Gromov-Witten invariants of an elliptic curve. All computations were aided with the use of Sage, and the classes and functions written in Sage are discussed in the appendix.

We derive an explicit formula for the connected $(n,m)$-point functions associated to an arbitrary diagonal tau-function $τ_f(\boldsymbol{t}^+,\boldsymbol{t}^-)$ of the 2d Toda lattice hierarchy using fermionic computations and the boson-fermion correspondence. Then for fixed $\boldsymbol{t}^-$, we compute the KP-affine coordinates of $τ_f(\boldsymbol{t}^+,\boldsymbol{t}^-)$. As applications, we present a unified approach to compute various types of connected double Hurwitz numbers, including the ordinary double Hurwitz numbers, the double Hurwitz numbers with completed $r$-cycles, and the mixed double Hurwitz numbers. We also apply this method to the computation of the stationary Gromov-Witten invariants of $\mathbb P^1$ relative to two points.

We prove a `Whitney' presentation, and a `Coulomb branch' presentation, for the torus equivariant quantum K theory of the Grassmann manifold $\mathrm{Gr}(k;n)$, inspired from physics, and stated in an earlier paper. The first presentation is obtained by quantum deforming the product of the Hirzebruch $λ_y$ classes of the tautological bundles. In physics, the $λ_y$ classes arise as certain Wilson line operators. The second presentation is obtained from the Coulomb branch equations involving the partial derivatives of a twisted superpotential from supersymmetric gauge theory. This is closest to a presentation obtained by Gorbounov and Korff, utilizing integrable systems techniques. Algebraically, we relate the Coulomb and Whitney presentations utilizing transition matrices from the (equivariant) Grothendieck polynomials to the (equivariant) complete homogeneous symmetric polynomials. Along the way, we calculate K-theoretic Gromov-Witten invariants of wedge powers of the tautological bundles on $\mathrm{Gr}(k;n)$, using the `quantum=classical' statement.

We prove a conjecture of Buch and Mihalcea in the case of the incidence variety X=Fl(1,n-1;n) and determine the structure of its (T-equivariant) quantum K-theory ring. Our results are an interplay between geometry and combinatorics. The geometric side concerns Gromov-Witten varieties of 3-pointed genus 0 stable maps to X with markings sent to Schubert varieties, while on the combinatorial side are formulas for the (equivariant) quantum K-theory ring of X. We prove that the Gromov-Witten variety is rationally connected when one of the defining Schubert varieties is a divisor and another is a point. This implies that the (equivariant) K-theoretic Gromov-Witten invariants defined by two Schubert classes and a Schubert divisor class can be computed in the ordinary (equivariant) K-theory ring of X. We derive a positive Chevalley formula for the equivariant quantum K-theory ring of X and a positive Littlewood-Richardson rule for the non-equivariant quantum K-theory ring of X. The Littlewood-Richardson rule in turn implies that non-empty Gromov-Witten varieties given by Schubert varieties in general position have arithmetic genus 0.

We prove two multivariate $q$-binomial identities conjectured by Bousseau, Brini and van Garrel [Geom. Topol. 28 (2024), 393-496, arXiv:2011.08830] which give generating series for Gromov-Witten invariants of two specific log Calabi-Yau surfaces. The key identity in all the proofs is Jackson's $q$-analogue of the Pfaff-Saalschütz summation formula from the theory of basic hypergeometric series.

The Peterson comparison formula proved by Woodward relates the three-pointed Gromov-Witten invariants for the quantum cohomology of partial flag varieties to those for the complete flag. Another such comparison can be obtained by composing a combinatorial version of the Peterson isomorphism with a result of Lapointe and Morse relating quantum Littlewood-Richardson coefficients for the Grassmannian to k-Schur analogs in the homology of the affine Grassmannian obtained by adding rim hooks. We show that these comparisons on quantum cohomology are equivalent, up to Postnikov's strange duality isomorphism.
A basis for a quotient of symmetric polynomials
Consider the ring $\mathcal{S}$ of symmetric polynomials in $k$ variables over an arbitrary base ring $\mathbf{k}$. Fix $k$ scalars $a_{1},a_{2},\ldots,a_{k}\in\mathbf{k}$. Let $I$ be the ideal of $\mathcal{S}$ generated by $h_{n-k+1}-a_{1},h_{n-k+2}-a_{2},\ldots,h_{n}-a_{k}$, where $h_{i}$ is the $i$-th complete homogeneous symmetric polynomial. The quotient ring $\mathcal{S}/I$ generalizes both the usual and the quantum cohomology of the Grassmannian. We show that $\mathcal{S}/I$ has a $\mathbf{k}$-module basis consisting of (residue classes of) Schur polynomials fitting into an $\left( n-k\right) \times k$-rectangle; and that its multiplicative structure constants satisfy the same $S_3$-symmetry as those of the Grassmannian cohomology. We prove a Pieri rule and a "rim hook algorithm", and conjecture a positivity property generalizing that of Gromov-Witten invariants. We construct two further bases of $\mathcal{S}/I$ as well. We also study the quotient of the whole polynomial ring (not just the symmetric polynomials) by the ideal generated by the same $k$ polynomials as $I$.
