Theta functions in acyclic affine type
We characterize the theta functions for vectors in the imaginary wall in a cluster algebra of acyclic affine type and compute some of their structure constants. One of the structure constant computations can be interpreted as new "imaginary" exchange relations among cluster variables. We show that theta functions in the imaginary wall span a subalgebra of the cluster algebra that we call the imaginary subalgebra, which decomposes as a tensor product of tube subalgebras that are generalized cluster algebras of type C. Our proofs exploit mutation-symmetries of the exchange matrix, an earlier characterization of dominance regions in affine type, and combinatorial models for cluster scattering diagrams of acyclic affine type.
Cluster scattering diagrams via quiver moduli and tight gradings
We study rank-2 cluster scattering diagrams through moduli spaces of quiver representations and a recently developed combinatorial framework of tight gradings. Combining quiver-theoretic and combinatorial methods, we prove and extend a collection of conjectures posed by Elgin--Reading--Stella concerning the structural and enumerative properties of the wall-function coefficients. The tight grading perspective also provides a new proof of the Weyl group symmetry of the scattering diagram.
Some coefficients of rank 2 cluster scattering diagrams
The purpose of this paper is to translate the expression of rank 2 cluster scattering diagrams via dilogarithm elements into via formal power series. As a corollary, we prove some conjectures introduced by Thomas Elgin, Nathan Reading, and Salvatore Stella.
Valuative independence and cluster theta reciprocity
We prove that theta functions constructed from positive scattering diagrams satisfy valuative independence. That is, for certain valuations $\operatorname{val}_{v}$, we have $\operatorname{val}_v(\sum_u c_u \vartheta_u)=\min_{c_u\neq 0} \operatorname{val}_v(\vartheta_u)$. As applications, we prove linear independence of theta functions with specialized coefficients and characterize when theta functions for cluster varieties are unchanged by the unfreezing of an index. This yields a general gluing result for theta functions from moduli of local systems on marked surfaces. We then prove that theta functions for cluster varieties satisfy a symmetry property called theta reciprocity: briefly, $\operatorname{val}_v(\vartheta_u)=\operatorname{val}_u(\vartheta_v)$. For this we utilize a new framework called a "seed datum" for understanding cluster-type varieties. One may apply valuative independence and theta reciprocity together to identify theta function bases for global sections of line bundles on partial compactifications of cluster varieties.
Positivity of generalized cluster scattering diagrams
We introduce a new class of combinatorial objects, named tight gradings, which are certain nonnegative integer-valued functions on maximal Dyck paths. Using tight gradings, we derive a manifestly positive formula for any wall-function in a rank-2 generalized cluster scattering diagram. We further prove that any consistent rank-2 scattering diagram is positive with respect to the coefficients of initial wall-functions. Moreover, our formula yields explicit expressions for relative Gromov-Witten invariants on weighted projective planes and the Euler characteristics of moduli spaces of framed stable representations on complete bipartite quivers. Finally, by leveraging the rank-2 positivity, we show that any higher-rank generalized cluster scattering diagram has positive wall-functions, which leads to a proof of the positivity of the Laurent phenomenon and the strong positivity of Chekhov-Shapiro's generalized cluster algebras.
Planar rooted line arrangements and an operad for factorized scattering
We introduce two topological non-$Σ$ operad structures on planar line arrangements subject to a certain geometric order condition, ensuring a well-defined notion of particle ordering on a distinguished line. This is interpreted in terms of scattering diagrams in purely elastic (1+1)-dimensional theories. We discuss a possible approach to factorized scattering in operadic terms.
Scattering diagrams, tight gradings, and generalized positivity
In 2013, Lee, Li, and Zelevinsky introduced combinatorial objects called compatible pairs to construct the greedy bases for rank-2 cluster algebras, consisting of indecomposable positive elements including the cluster monomials. Subsequently, Rupel extended this construction to the setting of generalized rank-2 cluster algebras by defining compatible gradings. We discover a new class of combinatorial objects which we call tight gradings. Using this, we give a directly computable, manifestly positive, and elementary but highly nontrivial formula describing rank-2 consistent scattering diagrams. This allows us to show that the coefficients of the wall-functions on a generalized cluster scattering diagram of any rank are positive, which implies the Laurent positivity for generalized cluster algebras and the strong positivity of their theta bases.
Broken lines and compatible pairs for rank 2 quantum cluster algebras
There have been several combinatorial constructions of universally positive bases in cluster algebras, and these same combinatorial objects play a crucial role in the known proofs of the famous positivity conjecture for cluster algebras. The greedy basis was constructed in rank $2$ by Lee-Li-Zelevinsky using compatible pairs on Dyck paths. The theta basis, introduced by Gross-Hacking-Keel-Kontsevich, has elements expressed as a sum over broken lines on scattering diagrams. It was shown by Cheung-Gross-Muller-Musiker-Rupel-Stella-Williams that these bases coincide in rank $2$ via algebraic methods, and they posed the open problem of giving a combinatorial proof by constructing a (weighted) bijection between compatible pairs and broken lines.
We construct a quantum-weighted bijection between compatible pairs and broken lines for the quantum type $A_2$ and the quantum Kronecker cluster algebras. By specializing the quantum parameter, this handles the problem of Cheung et al. for skew-symmetric cluster algebras of finite and affine type. For cluster monomials in skew-symmetric rank-$2$ cluster algebras, we construct a quantum-weighted bijection between positive compatible pairs (which comprise almost all compatible pairs) and broken lines of negative angular momentum.
Cluster scattering coefficients in rank 2
We present conjectures on the scattering terms of cluster scattering diagrams of rank 2, supported by significant computational evidence.
Polytope realization of cluster structures
Based on the construction of polytope functions and several results about them in [LP], we take a deep look on their mutation behaviors to find a link between a face of a polytope and a sub-cluster algebra of the corresponding cluster algebra. This find provides a way to induce a mutation sequence in a sub-cluster algebra from that in the cluster algebra in totally sign-skew-symmetric case analogous to that achieved via cluster scattering diagram in skew-symmetrizable case by [GHKK] and [M].
With this, we are able to generalize compatibility degree in [CL] and then obtain an equivalent condition of compatibility which does not rely on clusters and thus can be generalized for all polytope functions. Therefore, we could regard compatibility as an intrinsic property of variables, which explains the unistructurality of cluster algebras. According to such cluster structure of polytope functions, we construct a fan $\mathcal{C}$ containing all cones in the $g$-fan.
On the other hand, we also find a realization of $G$-matrices and $C$-matrices in polytopes by the mutation behaviors of polytopes, which helps to generalize the dualities between $G$-matrices and $C$-matrices introduced in [NZ] and leads to another polytope explanation of cluster structures. This allows us to construct another fan $\mathcal{N}$ which also contains all cones in the $g$-fan.
Explicit forms in lower degrees of rank 2 cluster scattering diagrams
In this paper, we study wall elements of rank 2 cluster scattering diagrams based on dilogarithm elements. We derive two major results. First, we give a method to calculate wall elements in lower degrees. By this method, we may see the explicit forms of wall elements including the Badlands, which is the complement of $G$-fan. In this paper, we write one up to 7 degrees. Also, by using this method, we derive some walls independent of their degrees. Second, we find a certain admissible form of them. In the proof of these facts, we introduce a matrix action on a structure group, which we call a similarity transformation, and we argue the relation between this action and ordered products.
Bracelets bases are theta bases
The skein algebra of a marked surface, possibly with punctures, admits the basis of (tagged) bracelet elements constructed by Fock-Goncharov and Musiker-Schiffler-Williams. As a cluster algebra, it also admits the theta basis of Gross-Hacking-Keel-Kontsevich, quantized by Davison-Mandel. We show that these two bases coincide (with a caveat for notched arcs in once-punctured tori). In unpunctured cases, one may consider the quantum skein algebra. We show that the quantized bases also coincide. Even for cases with punctures, we define quantum bracelets for the cluster algebras with coefficients, and we prove that these are again theta functions. On the corresponding cluster Poisson varieties (parameterizing framed $PGL_2$-local systems), we prove in general that the canonical coordinates of Fock-Goncharov, quantized by Bonahon-Wong and Allegretti-Kim, coincide with the associated (quantum) theta functions. Long-standing conjectures on strong positivity and atomicity follow as corollaries. Of potentially independent interest, we examine the behavior of cluster scattering diagrams under folding.
Cluster scattering diagrams of acyclic affine type
We give an explicit construction of the cluster scattering diagram for any acyclic exchange matrix of affine type. We show that the corresponding cluster scattering fan coincides both with the mutation fan and with a fan constructed in the almost-positive roots model.

To each triangulation of any surface with marked points on the boundary and orbifold points of order three, we associate a quiver (with loops) with potential whose Jacobian algebra is finite dimensional and gentle. We study the stability scattering diagrams of such gentle algebras and use them to prove that the Caldero--Chapoton map defines a bijection between reachable $τ$-rigid pairs and cluster monomials of the generalized cluster algebra associated to the surface by Chekhov and Shapiro.
Pentagon relation in quantum cluster scattering diagrams
We formulate the pentagon relation for quantum dilogarithm elements in the structure group of a quantum cluster scattering diagram (QCSD). As an application, we show the nonpositivity of a certain class of nonskew-symmetric QCSDs. Also, we explicitly present various consistency relations for QCSDs of rank 2 completely or up to some degree, many of which are new in the literature.

We extend the notion of $y$-variables (coefficients) in cluster algebras to cluster scattering diagrams. Accordingly, we extend the dilogarithm identity associated with a period in a cluster pattern to the one associated with a loop in a cluster scattering diagram. We show that these identities are constructed from and reduced to a trivial one by applying the pentagon identity possibly infinitely many times.

This is a self-contained exposition of several fundamental properties of cluster scattering diagrams introduced and studied by Gross, Hacking, Keel, and Kontsevich. In particular, detailed proofs are presented for the construction, the mutation invariance, and the positivity of theta functions of cluster scattering diagrams. Throughout the text we highlight the fundamental roles of the dilogarithm elements and the pentagon relation in cluster scattering diagrams.

We construct special Lagrangian fibrations for log Calabi-Yau surfaces, and scattering diagrams from Lagrangian Floer theory of the fibres. Then we prove that the scattering diagrams recover the scattering diagrams of Gross-Pandharipande-Siebert and the canonical scattering diagrams of Gross-Hacking-Keel. With an additional assumption on the non-negativity of boundary divisors, we compute the disc potentials of the Lagrangian torus fibres via a holomorphic/tropical correspondence. As an application, we provide a version of mirror symmetry for rank two cluster varieties.

We give a construction of generalized cluster varieties and generalized cluster scattering diagrams for reciprocal generalized cluster algebras, the latter of which were defined by Chekhov and Shapiro. These constructions are analogous to the structures given for ordinary cluster algebras in the work of Gross, Hacking, Keel, and Kontsevich. As a consequence of these constructions, we are also able to construct theta functions for generalized cluster algebras, again in the reciprocal case, and demonstrate a number of their structural properties.
